Cute little mom and pop shop over in Point Loma. I'm glad I found this place through too good to go. the donuts were really good (despite being a day old from too good to go). Simple, delicious donuts. Nothing too wild, but definitely enjoyable. Friendly service at the counter from both of the ladies working.
What a local gem! The options here are overwhelming, but you can't go wrong. There are lots of different types of donuts, so I definitely recommend a variety box, especially if you're gonna share. The texture of all the different types were spot on. I still dream about the fluffiness. Cash only, but there is ATM inside.
A hidden no-frills, nostalgic donut gem! The fact that I only found this mom-and-pop shop via Too Good To Go was kind of crazy as the prices and quality of the donuts were amazing. It's located in the corner of a small plaza on Voltaire St and Poinsettia Dr in Point Loma. There is a small parking lot that could get very busy especially during lunch and after school time. As mentioned, I only found this little classic donut shop through Too Good To Go. Amazing that they're on the app to reduce waste! But what's even more amazing was the quality of their donuts. They're huge and fluffy for a cheap price! $2-3 for a big donut is a steal nowadays! There was a variety of options to choose from as well. Their drinks menu was also just as cheap, ranging from $1-3 a cup. In this economy? CRAZY! From the feel of the shop, they do seem to make their own donuts. A hidden mom-and-pop gem with the inflating economy. Definitely will be back for more in the future. So please support local such as this shop even if it's just a small purchase or through the Too Good to Go app so that they can also reduce wasting unsold items. P.S. Cash only! There is an ATM in the shop to pull money out of.
The absolute best! Everything about this donut shop is amazing. I love the French crueler....my husband likes the maple bars and my kids love the donut holes (we call them "dozens" but if you're from the east coast they are munchkins!) This is a family-run business and we come every week and my kids think it's really special to be a "regular" somewhere. It's like our own version of a pub!!
This is my favorite place to pickup donuts for a crowd...or when I have an excuse to get donuts. I'm a fan of mom and pop old school donuts. These are always fresh and don't leave a gross oily after taste like some other places do. I'm a huge fan of their chocolate old fashion and chocolate cake donuts, blueberry, and the buttermilk old fashion bar here. But they are all great. My kids love the glazed raised. The donuts are huge too! Very reasonably priced. The older ladies here are cute and sweet. Always service with a smile. The place is clean and homey. Not much room so it's not a place to get coffee and sit but more of a take to go. Your car will smell delicious.
I come here all the time for the French cruellers. It's the best. I don't know how make theirs but it's unlike the other donut shops. It's consistent in both of their locations. One day, I noticed they had a too good to go deal and wanted to see what's it's like. It's soooo worth it. For $6.45, you get a dozen donuts and some donut holes (see pic). The donuts were still soft and delicious. Service was really fast. It's a tiny shop so it's best to just do take out. The parking lot here is very small.

The shop was clean and had some indoor seating, and the service was great. Staff was super friendly and patient with us as we decided what donuts we wanted. We got a mix of old fashioned, cake, and buttermilk donuts. The old fashioned and buttermilk donuts were solid, but the cake donut (especially the blueberry donut) was one of the best ones I've ever had. If you're in the area I'd highly recommend coming for the cake donut, you won't be disappointed.

Really great donut shop in Point Loma! The donuts were fresh and the people were so friendly. I love a sugar donut and it was so soft and fluffy inside! Savry was so nice and welcoming! We will definitely return!

The Apple Fritter was crisp with the glaze, and had chunks of apples throughout. It was a little on the sweet side for me, but really tasty! The Buttermilk Donut (Plain Glazed) was soft and you can really taste the buttermilk! The Small Hot Tea (I opted for Stash's Wild Raspberry Hibiscus) helped wash everything down. Definitely a great spot to have a quick bite!
I just demolished a donut for dinner and had to immediately jump on to share 5 stars. As someone who doesn't really care about donuts typically, this is news. This is a return trip. A few weeks ago I saw they had a guava filled donut and stopped in mid-dog walk. Normally don't enjoy a filled donut (too sweet) but this delectable treat was light and delicious. I finished it in seconds. I've been thinking about that guavt for weeks, and finally went back to grab one tonight (love their late hours!) as "dessert." When I saw allll the flavors I found myself also ordering an old fashioned, cruller, and a custard filled. It's not easy to find real custard! They filled it fresh on the spot, and carefully handed it to me. When I got home I realized my old-fashioned donut was still warm from the FRESH batch they were working on. I ate pre-dinner so I could enjoy it...and wow did I. After you visit you'll see what I mean. It's a gem. Looks like an old Subway but smells like donut heaven. Take cash if possible. They have an ATM, but no Apple Pay. They also offer plenty of drinks/coffees, which I didn't get to test. I'm sure they're amazing based on how much care goes into the donuts.
It's the delicious traditional donut we all grew up with! What more can one ask for? The owner is friendly and welcoming. It's the local morning spot you don't want to miss out on! Support family owned businesses and shop local!

Stopped by Christy's Donuts to pick up a dozen treats for the wonderful crew at one of my favorite hotels in Point Loma, the Homewood Suites Liberty Station! The sign outside has definitely seen its share of San Diego sunshine, but step inside and you're greeted by those wonderful, familiar aromas that make doughnut shops and bakeries around the world so inviting. Nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked goodies! The display cases were filled with a colorful assortment of doughnuts, from classic glazed and chocolate frosted to sprinkle-covered creations. Naturally, I couldn't leave without trying an apple fritter for myself, and it was quite tasty! The cashier was exceptionally friendly, full of smiles, and made the visit even more pleasant. Best of all, the dozen doughnuts I brought back to the hotel crew were very much appreciated! A nice little neighborhood doughnut shop with friendly service and plenty of sweet temptations. I was surprised at how much I loved these donuts. They are definitely some of the best donuts I have had. We ordered a selection of donuts, and they were all very good. The ones that were glazed were crispy on the outside, and nice and soft on the inside. My favorites were the old fashioned and the buttermilk bar, but other ones we got were the vanilla glazed cruller, blueberry cake donut, apple fritter, Bavarian cream, and cinnamon cake donut. They had a good selection of donuts to choose from, and I thought they were pretty reasonably priced. I would definitely come back here again! read more

Christy's has been my fun treat for over 5 years. I can't seem to stay away and now that I've moved, I've found myself searching for the perfect cakey bite of sweetness. Tucked away in a small parking lot next to Stump's market, you'll find this cute family owned donut shop: Christy's. You're greeted right away and the women remember you if you're a regular which is very cute. You'll find the shop filled with people in the mornings because the donuts here are DIVINE!! The prices are fair for the quality received. You have the option to get your donuts filled with whip cream or custard (filled at time of ordering). Choose from old fashion, cake donuts, raised donuts, sprinkles, jelly filled... whatever your little heart desires Let the perfect moist and delicious donuts rock your taste buds next time you're on the point. It's truly love at first BITE If you love this place, you'll love their family's other place in the same lot P.L Bagels. The owner is hilarious!!! So friendly and wonderful, and it's a classic in Point Loma. Definitely recommend them, especially because they are SUPER CHEAP. They don't accept card, so make sure you bring cash but they do have an ATM if you forget. I got the Blueberry Old-Fashioned and it was delicious. It's super homey inside and very nice! read more
I came across this place years ago since it's in the same small shopping plaza of one of my favorite bagel shops. They have always had fresh donuts and people are consistently coming and going for these delicious treats. The prices are not outrageous by any means, when you walk inside, you can smell the aroma of fresh baked goodies. I want to say their glazed donut comes pretty close to a fresh Krispy Kreme donut, it's so soft, pillowy and delicious. They pretty much have all kinds of donuts: many yeast donuts(glazed, sugar, cinnamon, etc) old -fashioned donuts (all diff kinds), buttermilk (different kinds) Cake donuts (glazed, frosting or sprinkles), many types of long johns and twists, Filled donuts.(fruit, custard, white) They have 'white cream filled' donuts. Many places on the west coast do not carry 'white cream' filled donuts. (some of these are higher in price, but more of specialty donuts) Favorites: 1. Plain glazed yeast donut 2. Apple fritter (they have larger and smaller one, if you are getting a dozen donuts you can get the small fritters) 3. Crullers! (not too many places have these so my last visit I lucked out..) 4. White cream filled ones are pretty good. The staff that work here are so kind. You can see they work very hard and are very efficient. I am always in support of local businesses, especially ones where you see them consistently working so hard and are so kind to everyone. Hands down this small mama and papas shop beats some of the 'fancy' expensive trendy donut shops. When I was last there, one lady told me she was from out of state and has to always stop in while visiting SD. Another family noted they loved this shop's donuts so much and their dad was a German baker so they knew baked goods. The last time I visited I bought 3 dozen. Got more varieties at the tail end of our trip. Tried the blueberry cake donuts, cinnamon, Bavarian cream, old fashioned, buttermilk. Vanilla cruellers. They were all amazing. The bavarjan is filled full of cream. Everything looks like it would be a standard donut but it's all perfectly glazed and crunchy in the outside. We went again towards the end of the day and the donuts were still amazingly fresh. read more

We had donuts in the Midwest but nothing like California. There are donut shops everywhere out here and the competition is fierce! I consider myself lucky that my favorite donut shop is just a short walk away. The storefront is unassuming, and the donuts are not flashy, but they are delicious! My favorite for a long time was a Chocolate Raised- a fluffy donut with a little chocolate on top (see the one with M&M's- they are optional). After several years of consistency I had to branch out so I tried the Chocolate Cake with colored sprinkles (see top R in the box). OMG they are so good!! Some people want super fancy stuff with designs, or huge donuts, or funky flavors. I just like good tasting basic donuts. For this- Christy's can't be beat!
