Our favorites we'd recommend is the coconut cream pie and the strawberry shortcake. The bacon maple still had an amazing texture and we loved how fluffy and satisfying the dough is made but I wasn't a fan of the bacon fat taste with the maple even though I usually like a sweet+savory combo. Special Mother's Day treat! I was happy to see they still have a wide selection so late in the morning. I was great within seconds of walking in. She was helping someone else but quickly wrapped up to take my order. The space was clean with plenty of seating. It was so hard to decide so I grabbed a few to share: Maple Bacon, Coconut Cream, Lemon and Horchata. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them and appreciated that they were not overly nor greasy. Give me a classic glaze any day! I'm always apprehensive about specialty donuts because of how elaborate they can get. Just give me a fried piece of bread coated in melted sugar and we will call it a day. My husband is the adventurous one with donuts and we gave this place a try! We ordered four donuts: French Toast, Maple Pecan, Honey Glazed and Blueberry Hill. My favorite was the French Toast and Honey Glazed! The dough was fluffy but bready at the same time. This is one of my favorite donut shoppes in the state. I love swinging by the SoCal locations on the way to the beach and picking up a few for a leisurely snacking session by the seaside. I love the airy, chewy texture of the freshly fried donuts here. The flavors are pretty interesting without being too egregious. You don't always (or ever) want a donut that's piled up with random stuff like gummy worms and all that. Parlor seems pretty conscientious about that, since the flavors, while bold, are relatively normal, and the toppings don't make it too difficult to take a bite without unhinging your jaw either. Stopped in on this Presidents early morning for donuts and coffee. We were greeted by Faith and Jayden. First impression was the experience. When the customer service is EXCELLENT it just makes the restaurant stand out even more for me. Personality and food together make the food taste even better. You must LOVE what you do, it shows. I was excited for the vegan doughnut as the first one I tried was amazing, but the disappointment was hard for the strawberry shortcake one I tried. I stopped this weekend in the morning for a drink when the store was empty. There were two younger female employees working alongside an older white woman named Terry. My partner and I placed our order, and the young employee who helped us was very kind and welcoming. We decided to stay and enjoy our drinks in the store, and during that time we noticed Terry speaking to the younger employees in a rude and condescending manner. She gave orders in a demanding way and made comments implying they would have to "figure it out you're on your own" when assigned tasks. It was uncomfortable to witness. My partner wanted to say something, but I worried that speaking up might create more problems for the employees, especially since it was early in their shift and they still had the rest of the day ahead of them. While sitting there, I looked through Yelp reviews and noticed several comments mentioning rude staff. After what we observed, I can understand how poor leadership could affect employee morale and, over time, influence how staff interact with customers. The employees who helped us were pleasant, but they may not be receiving the support or example they need from their bad leadership. I'm not sure whether Terry is the owner, manager, or shift lead. If she is the owner and reads this, do better. If she is not, then the owners should do a better job to ensure leadership treats staff with respect and dignity. If this behavior happened in front of customers, it's concerning to think about what employees may experience behind closed doors. No one deserves to be treated that way. read more
