I've basically tried the whole menu at this point and everything has been amazing. The mango matcha is SO good, and all their lattes are great too. Their pastries can sell out by late afternoon FYI, so come earlier if you want more options. I love both their sweet and savory ones, but the cardamom pastry is my favorite. For savory, the sun-dried tomato pesto and potato chili are my go-tos. There's plenty of parking in both the front and back, plus a bathroom in the back. Tons of indoor seating and a few outdoor tables, although you're lucky if you snag one because this place is popular! This is my go-to spot and all my friends love it too. So yes, I'm here at least once a week and I'm not ashamed to admit it lol.

It's in the heart of North Park bustling with shops, cafes, restaurants, and businesses. So needless to say we ordered two banana lattes which were so flavorful and delicious . They also are a dog-friendly coffee shop. So, feel free to bring Fido also! I always love to try new places and support small businesses. They also sell merchandise here! So order a coffee and T -shirt both short and long sleeves plus sweatshirts as well to go! This is a place that is happy, upbeat, sells delicious coffee, food , and cute merchandise. I also enjoyed the upbeat music they were playing in the background. Come to "Lazy Eye" now!

It's local, convenient, and surprisingly affordable for today's prices... under $5 for a latte, which is a total win. There's no indoor seating since it's a tiny booth, but there's plenty of parking if you want to walk up and grab your coffee. Overall, such a solid local coffee spot with friendly staff, creative flavors, and great value.

This quaint and unassuming coffee shop delivered spectacularly. Located in a really small strip mall, we were happy to get a parking space in the parking lot. Walking in, it had a tropical safari theme. It's not a big place but just enough for a few small tables and displays. I ordered at the register and the girl that helped us was super nice. She made great suggestions on the coffees. We tried their Latte with oat milk and the Maple nut latte. We also tried their pistachio-apricot scone. The lattes were excellent! Great, strong coffee flavor but with no bitterness. It was really smooth. And the scone? Loved it! Great taste and texture. Perfect crumb. Oh how I wish this place was in North County. I'll definitely be back!

There's also another back area, and more tables back there. Guy helping me was very patient and helpful. He was also handsome too, always nice to have eye candy, even if I could have been his ajima!! I ordered a hojicha cloud as I love a good hojicha and I prefer it over matcha. I don't like sweet drinks so I asked him how sweet and he responded that the drink has 15g maple syrup in it. I froze like a deer in headlights because I didn't know what that meant but was impressed with how precise he was. I told him to just make it half that. I waited a few minutes and then my iced hojicha cloud came out. The foam on top was delicious and the hojicha was well made. I guess I could do with 7.5g of maple syrup! I sat outside as they put a bunch of chairs out and enjoyed the people watching but also some of the Miramar Air Show going on too. They came real close and did some neat tricks! Parking is a bit of a problem in this shared lot but overall, this was a good experience and I would return. Nice coffee bar with good drinks and good vibes!

Bird Rock Coffee, a San Diego native named for the little town in La Jolla known for its rock formations along the coast inhabiting various seabirds, has expanded quite a bit all across the county and this location is just as unique as the others I've visited. Attached to the cafe, you'll get a glimpse into their roasting operations. What started as a micro-roaster, this chain has garnered a following near and far for their single origins, blends, and specialty drinks. As you arrive to this location, you'll find that there's limited parking relative to the size of this building. As you step foot into the shop, you'll understand why - most of their footprint is occupied by their roasting equipment but the dining space is still relatively large compared to more niche coffee shops. Situated with small tables as well as bench tops, during my weekend excursion, there was never a time that it was completely packed so you're bound to find a spot to camp. Outlets are also available from certain spots. Ordering is simple which can be done at the register or online. The menu is quite extensive with all things coffee but consider checking their online menus as I found items like their double cappuccino that wasn't advertised on their physical menus. If you do order through their mobile app, you'll automatically get reward points toward free drinks or food. Speaking of special offers, they also offer birthday goodies so when it's that time of the year, you're in for a treat! I did end up getting the double cappuccino and it was delicious and came out hot with just enough foam to add volume to each sip. If I weren't traveling with so much stuff, I would have considered getting their bags of beans to brew at home. Fortunately, they do offer a subscription and delivery through their website so for those like me looking for a taste from afar, you're in luck! From dark to light roasts, you'll have quite a few options with the notes you desire. The staff were friendly and helpful despite constantly at full capacity. Drinks kept churning out with the same consistent quality and hospitality. Overall, Bird Rock is a local roaster you'll want to check out as their growing operations is a clear result of their consistent product quality, accessibility through its many locations and ordering methods, and excellent service. This location in particular is just blocks away from the huge playground and park next to mission bay, albeit you're better off driving. I was much too full to grab food this around but it may be worth a try to go with the coffee next time. Whether you're a local or just visiting, consider making a trip out and roost on this rock for a while!
