Hugeee fan of easy does it- not only for the drinks, but just the vibes inside and community! Plenty of tables and natural lighting, it's the perfect place to study, work, or catch up with a friend. All the workers are really nice and helpful. They serve coffees, matchas, hojichas, and even wines! The hojicha was perfectly brewed and not too sweet. Will definitely be back here again!
A spacious, study cafe with plenty of seating and some wall outlets. Came on a Friday morning, and it's generally pretty quiet because everyone is on their laptops working on something. A lot of solo workers! I visited with a friend just to chat, and while there's music playing in the background, I'm sure people could hear us chat lol. The seating in the back of the store opens at 10am BTW; when I got here at 10am, 99% of the seating in the main room was full. I ordered the Matcha Earl Grey ($6.50), and it was OK. I got it half sweetened (the earl grey was just part of the sweetener) and less ice. I could taste the lingering matcha, but not the earl grey. Overall it was a bit watery. The workers are kind, and the cafe itself is very clean. Lowkey kind of dark with lots of window light. Free wifi with password info next to the cashier. I'd come again to work, seems like you can stay here a long time unlike other cafes. I wouldn't suggest coming here to catch up with a friend---unless you're quiet. :)
It is a TRAVESTY... that I haven't yet written about the coffee shop I've dedicated my life to over the past year, because... well, like I said, you will always find me here! OVERVIEW Come for the equally balanced, delicious coffee AND matcha drinks; the spacious work setting; the side entertainment (like a free bookshelf + camp chairs outside), and incredible ownership. Be prepared for hard parking during peak hours (lunchtime) and possible lack of seats (especially during schooltime). DRINKS It is RARE to find a shop whose matcha is on par with its coffee; normally, one is better than the other. Easy Does It, or EDI as we affectionately call it, is pro at BOTH. With coffee served from Provecho, matcha from Nami and hojicha from Paru??? You just hit a trifecta of GOOD good. Our Typical Order: 1) Iced Earl Grey Latte - omg, I LOVE the earthiness that the earl grey syrup brings to the matcha. Matcha, to me, is either too grassy or too sweet; the earl grey syrup makes it a perfectly earthy balance. 2) Honey Cinnamon Latte - how good could a standard coffee shop latte be, you ask? They have the HCL at almost every shop, and it's not usually standout. EDI, again, blew expectations wide open. Their HCL is balanced: sweet without being saccharine; and you can actually taste the cinnamon. 3) Hojicha Latte, Hot - omg, there was a time when I ordered almost one of these A DAY. Again, another sleeper - if you like the taste of coffee but can't take the caffeine (for a late night drink, perhaps), a hojicha is a good choice. It has that grounded taste that coffee gives, and the hot version of it is like a HUG for your mouth and stomach. They also have cool inventive flavors like the Matcha Cloud, the Coconut Cream Cloud (which is a coffee cloud on top of coconut water, I hear it's refreshing), so you'll never get tired of the drinks they have here. I also want to mention that they do serve wine and beer, too... so there's something for everyone! FOOD Spend any time in a coffee shop and know... you're gonna get hungry! Thankfully, EDI has open-faced bagel sandwiches AND pastries here, all of which look mighty tasty; all of which I cannot partake in, since I am gluten free. But ohhh, gluten warriors unite! Thanks to the partnership that is Jacob of Made for Mei Mei Mochi (aka the protein mochi) and Easy Does It, you'll have your PICK of 5 different flavors of homemade, chewy, ooey, DELICIOUS MOCHI -- SANS added sugars and preservatives you normally find in the store. I'm telling you, I don't normally like mochi (it tends to be so sweet) but I love the texture. And Made for Mei Mei hits it all! Flavors include: 1) chocolate hazelnut -- which tastes like Ferrer Rocher, yum 2) ube 3) green tea / red bean 4) black sesame 5) pb&j (yes, he's stocked peanut butter & jelly, a fan-demanded flavor) My favorites are #1 and #4; sometimes I go for #2 and #5 to mix it up. Either way, I spend WAY too much on these tiny li'l treats I might as well become an early investor. AMBIENCE This place is perfect for computer work as light doesn't directly fill the whole space. I like a li'l shade when I'm staring at a bright computer screen. There are two rooms: front and back; the back is a li'l darker and more chill vibes than the front. I also appreciate that they have a free bookshelf (just replenish it with your own!), plus a few magazines scattered around (for decoration, but I still browse). I miss when coffee shops had analog media, especially for when we don't want to be glued to our screens. EXTRA CREDIT Easy Does It also offers their shop as space for community events. Was in the area and was craving a bagel. Thank goodness I stumbled upon this place because everything was yummy. The staff was attentive and knowledgable. Never had tonic matcha before. I got the matcha with passionfruit tonic. I've never had this before, but I'm glad I tried it. I got the smoky catch bagel and mushroom and got cheese empenada. Both were filling and flavorful. Would I come here again? Yes.
Yes, I recommend this cafe! I especially enjoy their iced matcha cloud oat latte and empanadas. The staff are friendly and super quick with the drinks and food! This place is larger than an avg cafe. There are plenty of seating in the front and back. And plenty of parking too. The cafe has a bookshelf filled with some pretty good books to read, wine bottles and matcha powders, etc. I can't name every single thing, you'll just have to check the cafe out for yourself!
This was one of the first cafes in San Diego that was giving a similar aesthetic to cafes in LA/OC. For that reason, I had pretty high expectations. However, I was pretty disappointed. I tried their matcha cloud, and the matcha was strong but it was grainy and had a low quality taste. The cloud is pretty good though. I just wish they used a higher quality matcha. The cup is also pretty small for how pricey it is. They have ample seating inside, but it is usually packed so it could be hard to find a table if you are trying to study for a long time here. They do have free wifi though!

Parking: A medium sized parking lot with a decent lot Interior: Very cozy with lots of tables that get filled quickly with people studying or chatting. Be sure to stop by the desktop to take retro web cam photos! Drinks: Ordered a Hot Hojicha Latte - 3.5/5 decent hojicha flavors but lacking a deep richness Hot Vanilla Latte - 4/5 Matcha Latte/ 3.5/5 - decent but lacking a rich and strong matcha flavor Overall decent place to get your morning caffeine fix in SD!
I have very mixed feelings about easy does it!! When they first opened, their matcha cloud was rich & creamy but the last few times, the quality and taste have degraded. I'm not sure if they switched vendors but it's not as good or strong as I remembered...it now just tastes like flavored milk RIP. They also have seating in the front & back room but it's ALWAYS crowded. So unless you come early or near closing, it's not the most work-friendly spot. I don't really go here unless I want to do some work & am willing to take my chances with tables and their drinks. Otherwise, cool interior, chill vibes, and they often host pop-ups or mahjong nights here!
I don't usually get matcha but I was super curious to try this place and it was so good!!! Matcha is creamy, nutty, and slightly sweet and the cold foam made it taste like a little dessert! Truly the perfect matcha for me. The inside is also huge and they also have a giant back room with more seating. It's a great place to study, get work done, or go with a group.
My boyfriend and I wanted a quick bite to eat before heading to the Safari Park. Parking was easy since it's located in a plaza. We stopped by at around 8:20am today and there were only a few people in line. Service was welcoming and kind! They had an assortment of baked goods + empanadas as well as a great matcha/coffee menu. There's lots of seating for anyone who wants to hangout with friends or study. So awesome to see that they serve Nami (aashleyk's matcha brand). I ordered a chicken empanada, pan de elote, & an iced matcha cloud (less sweet & oat milk). Everything was absolutely DELISH. I'm pretty picky about my matcha, especially when it's in an Einspanner form. I loved the contrast between the sweet/salty cloud and the matcha itself! This place has their ratios down perfectly. Can't wait to come back (probably tomorrow)! 11/10.

Easy Does It is a great spot if you're looking for quality matcha and a nice café to hang out in. The drinks were well made and tasted really good, and despite how busy it was when I visited, the staff were friendly and kept things moving efficiently. One thing I really liked was the space itself. The café has a large, open interior with plenty of seating, so it never felt cramped even during peak hours. It's a comfortable place to catch up with friends or get some work done. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is the value. The drinks are definitely on the pricey side, and I was surprised by how small the cups were for what you're paying. While the quality is there, I just wish the portion size better matched the price. Overall, it's a cute café with a great atmosphere and solid drinks--just be prepared to spend a little more than you might expect.
Came to try this place after seeing hype on social media. I was pleasantly surprised to see they use Nami matcha as I have been wanting to try this brand. I loved the interior space and decor of the cafe. Shoutout the barista on aux as well because they were playing bangers for music. We ordered the matcha cloud and hojicha cloud. Baristas were nice and drinks came out at a good time. Loved the outdoor seating in front of the store; it sets this cafe apart with the casual lounge chairs. The only thing that was kinda disappointing was that our cups came with no type of sticker, label, or indication of the cafe name. I was excited to post it on social media for a review but this was a let down visually. Overall drinks were good and would come back again.

Wow! If you are pretty particular about your matcha like I am, I would say that this is the place to go to! This might be my new favorite place for matcha in San Diego. If you are familiar with the Orange County cafe scene, this place feels like it can be one of those coffee shops based off the interior design, good quality of food and drinks, merchandise, overall ambiance, and more. The food and drinks I got were really delicious! There are a lot of spaces to study in the cafe with ports to charge your electronics and Wi-Fi. The service is great as well. If you are looking for something else to do after visiting the cafe, there is FotoOp, a cute photo-booth experience with a lot of different backgrounds! read more
**August 2026: Sunday Afternoon Visit** My friend and I needed a spot with good Wi‑Fi to do some trip planning while we were in San Diego. He found Easy Does It, so we decided to check it out. The space felt like a college campus and library combined. It's really big, with lots of tables and chairs, but nothing felt cramped. There were cozy seating areas and even some couches, so it was easy to settle in for a while and was definitely the kind of place where people can chat, study, or work on their laptops. The vibe was perfect for what we needed, and the AC was blasting. There are two gender‑neutral bathrooms and plenty of parking, which was a nice bonus. I ordered the Matcha Cloud and swapped in oat milk. We found a spot to work at the back of the house. Honestly, this place is huge and a great spot to do work. For space and vibe, I'd give it 4 stars. My drink didn't taste memorable or like something I'd order again, but I think if I'm in the area I might be open to trying a different beverage. Somehow I've let a whole year pass without coming to easy does it ! The one year anniversary was really cute and they decorated with streamers and balloons. They had a lot of fun collabs and a dj show up with people still coming to work! I tried their matcha cloud and it was a perfect ratio of matcha and cream without it being overly bitter or sweet. The variety of pastries I was most impressed by! Lots of savory ones like a chorizo potato roll and spinach artichoke pocket and sweet ones like a sweet corn muffin and guava roll. How could I choose??!!? I think only things to note are there are only a couple outlets to charge your devices and parking and get full quickly. Can't wait for another year of easy does it! read more

Easy Does It is a fairly new coffee shop in Kearny Mesa on the east side of the 163, serving espresso drinks, open-faced bagels, wine, and some cool specialty drinks too. Overall, I like the aesthetic, vibes, interior set up, and bagels a lot. I feel like they're in the above-average range for coffee and matcha as well. I've been twice and I've tried the hot americano, iced latte, and iced matcha. The drinks are comparable to a lot of other coffee apps in the neighborhood--nothing that dazzles me necessarily, but solid nonetheless. They use Provecho beans, which is a good sign, since Provecho is one of the more legit local roasters. The open-faced bagels are where this place stands out. The Smoky Catch is an exceptional salmon bagel, with very fresh salmon, capers, dill, and cucumbers piled high on a cream-cheese-lathered bagel and topped with a spritz of lemon juice, olive oil, pepper, and dill. Service is very good here, too, and the WiFi is strong. There's plenty of space, and even a back room, making it a good spot to work remotely. I think the A/C is a little too high, though, as it actually gets uncomfortable if you're inside for too long. They do, however, offer a good amount of outdoor seating. read more
This place is the best. Great service, chill vibes, and lots of seating. I've been here more than a handful of times and I love it every time. I usually get the iced matcha which they do better than most places in San Diego. They have a lot of variety on their drinks so there is not a boring season. They also have a lot of baked goodies which they can reheat for you if you ask! Make sure you try their matcha! read more

I have been here several times already, and have always been satisfied with their drinks. My typical go to drinks are the Yuzu espresso tonic and the latte. I really like the Yuzu espresso tonic, especially on a hot day as it is very refreshing. I do not have very refined taste in coffee however, for my taste palette, the latte was well balanced. The staff members are always friendly and they make the drinks very quickly so you are not waiting too long. While they do have a decent amount of room, because it is pretty popular, sometimes it can be hard to grab a table to sit at. It is a great café spot whether you want to study or hang out with friends. They also have a couple pastries, which I believe they get from some local bakers and the ones that I've tried so far such as the egg tarts are pretty good, although certainly not cheap. read more
super cute place to study! there's so many tables and even a back area to study. the matcha was definitely more earthy with more umami. the hojicha was slightly more watery that my friend would have preferred, but the matchas were solid drinks overall! service was kind & super quick to get out our drinks within 5 minutes! read more

Love the coffee here - they serve Provecho beans. I got the Cortado and it was perfect. Lots of indoor seating mix of tables, couches and community table with some seats out front too with camp/lounge chairs. Service was friendly and quick. They also have lots of matcha options and pastries. Parking in the lot is easy, would definitely come back! read more
Lots of space and great prices for really delicious drinks. I got the hojicha latte and found the various barley notes and warm smooth texture was such a great treat. The space is large and welcoming. They also have a room in the back where you can work. read more

Another coffee shop in the Convoy area in what would seem like a godsend after years of boba tea shops dominating the area, but Easy Does It only just barely does it. As a great support to the local community, they use Provecho coffee beans and stock their baked goods case with wares usually from much loved SPLIT Bakehouse. Their drink sizing is smaller, perhaps at 8-10oz and the preferred format is iced so if you don't say anything about wanting your drink hot, you automatically get it iced (no, workers will not bother to ask). Not sure if they even give you a double shot in their lattes and other larger format espresso products because of the smaller size. Their lattes are only $5.50 and are pretty milky so the suspicion is strong. They have matcha lattes along with the related creations. They even offer a hojicha latte. I've had the hojicha latte dirty and the espresso double shot was a whole $2, this up charge for espresso on the upper end ($1.25 everywhere else)! Do not recommend this combo anyway as hojicha does not work with their espresso. Otherwise, they are known for their tea latte "Cloud" varietals which come with a sea salt cream cap. These are pretty good though I wish the cream cap were slightly thicker. You also don't get much with the small cup occupied with a ton of ice. As for the workers, most were somewhat weird during all my visits. Lack of self-awareness and very aloof. Either they forget my drink or perhaps someone really takes it which really speaks to the type of customers they attract... not sure I want any part of it. A coffee shop it may be and was hoping it would be a promising one... or maybe I'll wait as they go through their growing pains but a long process it has been. read more

Drink/Food: Coffee is consistent and quite good. Recommend their Hojicha Latte or seasonal Peppermint Mocha Latte. Both are very smooth, with a nice nutty flavor without being too thick. The classics are done well (one could arguably judge a cafe on how well they do the basics), and bakery items are kept in-stock even after peak breakfast/brunch times (pet peeve of mine is when cafes run out of food too fast; no such issues here). Service: The baristas are all super friendly and accomodating, so much so that I've learned a couple of their names and vice-versa. Gives a familial vibe every time I visit (not to mention building customer loyalty). Good wifi speeds and one restroom that's surprisingly well-kept. Vibe: I'd consider myself a regular here for the vibes alone. Background music is pleasant and not too loud, and despite the fact that it's not uncommon to see the cafe filled in, overall noise stays balanced. Good place to co-work with friends and also a great place to study/relax on your own. Seating: Plenty of seats, ranging from benches if waiting for to-go orders or wanting to sit by yourself to shared co-working tables. Outdoor seating is provided as well if you need to take a phone call for work or if you're just feeling outdoorsy. Parking: Sizeable shared lot. Should have no problem finding a spot, even during peak hours. read more
Came by here after the beach to try out some of their drinks (heard about the matcha here). You can tell they took their time with decorating the interior of the cafe and it gave off good aesthetics. Every seat was filled with people studying so it seems they've succeeded in getting people to hang out here. I got a hojicha latte and my partner got the earl grey matcha. I'm not an expert in matcha but I felt like it wasn't super noticeable in the drink. The earl grey on the other hand was present and did taste good. As for the hojicha latte it had a prevalent roasted flavor and it was sweetened just enough to not overpower the drink. Probably one of the better hojicha lattes I've had in awhile! Four stars was given only cause I'm not 100% sold on the matcha but I'd be willing to give it another chance! read more

The interior is very spacious with lots of seating & tables. I love how they also have lounge chairs outside the cafe as well. Along the wall, they have plenty of coffee beans, matcha, & wines for sale. The barista was very kind to answer questions & recommend me the hojicha to try! * Hojicha Cloud - 8.7/10 (the hojicha had yummy roasted flavor which i really liked, & it mixed really well with the sea salt foam. i just wish the flavor was stronger & more bold. overall, if you like hojicha, i would recommend trying this one out!) read more
I've been on a mission to find good matcha spots around San Diego, and I was hoping Easy Does It would make the list. Unfortunately, this visit didn't quite do it for me. Matcha Cloud (6/10): Maybe it was just my drink, but it tasted watered down and I barely picked up any matcha flavor, which was a bit disappointing. That said, I'm still open to coming back and trying it again or ordering a different drink, since I want to see what others enjoy about EDI. The interior is very clean with an industrial, minimalistic vibe, making it a great spot for study sessions or catching up with friends. Checked out Easy Does It yesterday since I was in the area and really loved the vibe. The space is super clean and open with tons of seating, so it's a great place to hang out. The staff were awesome and super friendly. I got the Mia-mor Latte and a plain bagel with cream cheese, and both hit the spot. One major bonus: they only charge $0.50 extra for oat milk! Most other coffee shops charge $1.00 or more now, so that was a really nice surprise. They also gave me a stamp card for future visits, which I'll definitely be using. Will absolutely be back! read more

The drinks and food are a solid 5/5. The space itself is about a 3.5/5. They make the matcha and hojicha fresh and you can taste the difference. We also ordered the lox on an everything bagel. The bagel is a nice fat fresh fluffy bagel and the flavors of the entirety was great. All orders were provided in to go containers and cups. Which is fine. What got me was that this place felt almost a little grimy. Every table seems to have some sort of smudge on it. The bathroom was nice in the fact that there's a changing pad for new moms on top of this beautiful cabinet piece of furniture. Then right next to it are all the cleaning supplies just sitting on the floor for all to see. That kind of ruined the atmosphere for me. read more

I got a hojicha sikhae that was part of their specialty menu, and it was really good! I would definitely come again; I'm honestly even thinking about going tomorrow. I've been meaning to try this place since it's so close to work. I tried the matcha cloud which the worker said was the most popular. I love that the matcha was rich and vibrant and lightly sweetened just enough where the matcha still shined through. I also got the spinach pocket to try but it was just okay. There was a piece of parchment paper stuck to the bottom. I wouldn't get it again. I will definitely come back for the drinks, though! Inside was very spacey and great for getting work done. Great place to study! Almost everyone in here was studying and they have a few communal tables and couches. Somewhat limited on the outlets, about 3. WiFi and bathroom available. Parking slightly difficult, I had to circle the lot a few times but no time limit. Staff was very pleasant. You have the option of a glass cup or mug if your order is for here. The pastries looked amazing, mostly sold out when I came at 1pm so I wasn't able to try any personally. Some small food options available as well such as bagels. I got the matcha cloud - tasted good but I personally thought my drink had an odd mouth feel possibly due to under whisking. They do handwhisk their matcha behind the counter. Could be a one off, would love to come again and for the matcha a second chance as well as try the coffee! read more
Good place to take a break and grab something cold and something hot. I opted for the hot wild green tea and my companion chose matcha cloud (iced) tea. They only sweeten with maple syrup an agave option would have been great. Great ambiance and definitely a cool place to hang out read more
Place was minimal but bustling! I loved the energy. Service was fast and friendly. I got the yuzu espresso tonic drink and omg it was amazing. I have no complaints. Delicious! I ordered a few other drinks for my friends and put my name down. The staff are hilarious!! They spelled my name differently four times definitely for the kicks. We had a good laugh once we realized. They had good seating options. Would be a good choice for catching up with someone. :) read more
