The name of Forum Coffee is rather apt as many local college students meet here for study and discussion. Many of the drinks are themed around computer programming with names like "C++" and "Debugger". The whimsical nature of the naming is rather appealing and cute. The atmosphere here is casual and relaxed which is perfect for those needing a chill place to study or kick back. Service was quick and efficient. The staff members also were friendly and positive in mood. I ordered their batch brew coffee which was illustrated as using Guatemala beans that provided "chocolate, nutty, caramel, and citrusy" notes. I didn't quite taste the first three aforementioned notes, but the citrusy, sour note was there along with bitter notes. I've been here before and I much prefer their lattes such as the Troubleshooter and Debugger. Those are exceptionally enjoyable drinks to me. I would rate the batch brew a 3/5 but I'd rate the two aforementioned lattes around a 4.5/5. Overall, it's best to enjoy the specialty drinks here and inundate yourself with sweet caffeine to focus on studying for your upcoming test or completing your project that's about to be due.

Forum Coffee is my go to local coffee spot. They always have such fun and unique coffee and tea drinks to choose from, and I love that they have a seasonal menu so there's always something new to try. My personal favorites are their matchas and the house blue chai latte. Their pastries are also so delicious. They are usually busy, but the line moves fast and the service is always quick and friendly. Highly recommend!
The latte and the in-house made pastries are to die for here! I got their salted caramel latte which comes with their house made sauce and their pastries. The iced latte was well balanced with the milk, ice, espresso, and sauce. It wasn't overly sweet. For the pasties, probably the best pasties I've had in a long time. The hazelnut bun was soft and flaky. Melted in your mouth! The pumpkin churro tasted more like churro than pumpkin but the bread pudding consistency made it so freaking good. Highly recommend this spot but just a notice, there seems to be a long line both times we came here.

Place was pretty busy, kind of a different vibe, not as 'zen', more fast food feel. Not a big deal. Service was mid, no one seemed too excited to see me lol, but not terrible. Parking is easy. Maybe their other drinks are better, but I'll keep on the lookout for a better place to get my Hojicha!
Got the BB Code after a recommendation from the barista. The banana flavor was very subtle, but still prominent, which I enjoyed. It gives off a similar taste to drinking a latte with oat milk. In my search for new study spots, this will definitely be on my return list. There are many seats with outlets as well as complementary wifi. It's also very cozy with cushioned seats or big tables to work at. Parking is also very easy with a lot in the front and back, which is rare for a place near Convoy.
Order was placed ahead of time and it was ready upon arrival. I picked this cafe because it was conveniently located near the supercharger. The service wasn't friendly or anything. Zero acknowledgement whatsoever. The inside of the cafe was dimly lit with some spots to sit down and do work or homework of sort. Lots of young people sitting inside and outside. The drinks come with IT and comsci related lingos. Neither of the drinks I ordered tasted good. The London Fog was watery and stale. The coffee drink had no caramel or sweetener of any sort. Much preferred drinking McDonalds iced coffee because of the taste. The scone was stale and rock hard. The quality of the food and drinks were terrible in my opinion. Unless I'm charging my car in the same shopping center again, I am not returning. I think the place is overhyped and overrated.

I got a cherry blossom strawberry hojicha latte which was so good. They even let me try the cherry blossom foam first which was really nice to make sure I would like it. I don't see hojicha lattes often so loved trying it! Super unique and my friend's pistachio latte was delightful too!

The drink was good but nothing great, kinda wish the banana flavor came out more. I might try something else next time and give it another shot. Barista was nice though and asked me what I typically go for. The inside layout was not really anything special. Felt almost like food court seating inside and there was hardly anywhere to sit especially if you're solo because each table so close to each other. Felt like the place could use a little more ambiance truthfully. I'd come back here to grab a quick coffee to go but probably wouldn't come here to do work or lounge around.
First time here and I wanna go back! Their coffee menu has some unique drinks that I haven't tried before. This time I tried the BB Code which is a Cold Brew with Banana Milk + Brown Sugar. It's $6.75. This was quite tasty and like nothing I tried before. It was quite busy, that just means how popular they are. The cashier and the staff were nice. This coffee shop has indoor and outdoor seating. It's a cute coffee that I regret not taking pics of the shop itself. A good reason to go back to try another tasty drink and snap some photos! read more

Came as part of their 9 year anniversary party where they were doing bogo on coffee drinks. I haven't been back in forever! The shop still looks the same. We got the Vietnamese coffee and my partner got the chocolate covered strawberry latte. The Vietnamese coffee has an extra shot (3 for a small), condensed milk, whole milk and a salted vanilla foam. I also asked for it half sweet which ended up being the perfect level. The drink missed the mark on having the distinctive phin drip espresso since they just use standard shots. The foam did add a nice saltiness to the drink though. My partner liked his chocolate strawberry drink. He subbed soy milk for $.75 extra. It did have a nice strawberry flavor but I felt like the chocolate and strawberry completely overpowered the coffee taste. read more

After my last cold brew was as strong as a dell notebook running windows 98 (there was a bug in the system, specifically a bee...), I needed a hard reset. The BB Code was exactly the upgrade I was looking for. The original banana flavor and the strong cold brew coffee was a solved algorithm of the perfect balance. The dark web was a stratification with the bottom holding some deep secrets in a delicious mocha recipe guarded by fresh mint leaves halfway through. The staff's predicative models are on point because I ordered and before I could turn around, the coffees and pastries were out. Huge shoutout to the basil goat cheese bun. I'm not sure how something can be so savory and sweet at the same time. Is this a pizza? A dessert? Both? It must of been a distributed denial of service because my taste buds are still trying to process it. The outdoor seating was great so my kids could complain about the rich flavors of the donut without distracting everyone else inside working and chatting. read more
Breakfast at a coffee shop. Every morning we'd go to a different one. When we arrived several tables were already occupied and they were sitting against a wall that had a saying sprawled on most of it. We saw a print of a colorful Frenchie amongst their trinkets on display on a shelf. The pastry I ordered for hubs had the smoothest, perfectly autumn spiced cinnamon like pumpkin frosting- so good! Wish I had chosen that for myself as even the cake portion was moist. My cardamom bread on the other hand looked appealing as it appeared marbled but was hard and dry, the darker edges depicting a few minutes of perhaps being in the oven too long. Ok, at best. This was the 2nd coffee joint for the day. Bestie said she needed a comfort coffee as we were out enjoying our girls day craft shopping. Forum Coffee was close and has a descent rating...we should have driven to Convoy area. For this price, we were disappointed. We got 1 Mochi Donut because it 'looked' interesting. Threw it away, we tasted it and it tasted raw, texture was like raw flour. Not like mochi, no chew to it either. Very grainy. Flavor very much tasted like uncooked raw dough. It tasted gross. We looked at each other like wtf is this. It was so bad, we needed it to be good for a sugar kick. I think I paid $6 or so for it too. I remember it wasn't cheap for a donut and a waste because it was inedible. My debugger coffee was really good. That's why I am giving them a 3 stars. This was the savior. Crunchy topping from the brûlée. Well balanced. Good coffee flavor, nice caffeine kick. Bestie got a latte as well, a cold one, she didn't even finish hers. Didn't go down well. Didn't taste good and made her stomach flip a few minutes after her first sip, which is really odd, not normal. We drink a lot of coffee from many different joints and never had one taste bad and do a number to the point where she only drank half. All in all, not coming back. Service wasn't even notable to come back for. Maybe they got high ratings due to purely being only coffee joint continently located in area? No thanks, I'd rather drive a few more miles to the heart of Convoy for something better, more worthy. read more

Stopped by and ordered a couple of matchas with milk. The matcha was solid and not too milky. The service was friendly and the server let us know that the matcha originally does not come with milk so that was helpful. There was lots of seating and it was a very chill vibe. read more

Okay coconut cream and caramel! Who knew they'd go so well with matcha! I am always on the quest for a quality matcha. Everyone and their mother is serving matcha, but I'm looking for either great quality (bright green in color, ceremonial matcha with rich flavor) or untraditional standout flavors (unique mix-ins that aren't too sweet, but provide the right taste combination with the matcha). This falls into the later. I don't usually frequent this area, but I wasn't far and have had it on my list for a while. I got the C++ and it was SO GOOD. The coconut cream is perfection and I'm not even a big coconut gal. The caramel is also such a treat. I was so impressed by this drink. One sip and I knew I was in trouble. I'll have to be making my way out here more frequently. read more

Forum Coffee caught my eye for their interesting drink combinations. I really enjoyed the Double Post rose earl grey latte with matcha, a combination I've never seen before. It was delicious and floral, and half sweetness was about right for me. I should've asked for light ice though. However, the Binary Code latte with condensed milk and horchata was quite grainy, to the point where bits can get stuck in your throat. I wish I was still in the area to try their seasonal salted honey lavender matcha. Inside has a good amount of seating with lots of people doing work. If I lived in San Diego, I'd definitely be coming here often! read more

This spot easily has some of the best coffee in San Diego! I got the pumpkin cold brew latte: perfectly balanced, not too bitter, not too sweet. You can really taste the quality and how much care they put into their drinks. Definitely my new go-to for cold brews. The service was great, too: our barista was incredibly kind and gracious. It made the experience feel that much more welcoming and friendly. The only downside is how crowded it gets, especially on Sunday mornings. It's clearly a favorite among college students, so finding a table can take a bit if you're planning to hang out or get some work done. Still, the coffee alone makes it worth the stop ... perhaps come early (or grab to-go) if you want to avoid the rush. read more

Visited Forum Coffee on a Sunday morning and it was packed. The line was out the door and never seemed to get shorter. It really took time for us to get to the front and place our order, but I think that helped the baristas keep up with the drink orders. The coffee shop is spacious inside, and there's lots of tables and seating. Their menu has creative drinks with fun computer coding names. My only frustration was that it's really difficult to read because of the font colors and background. I ordered an iced americano, which came out really fast given how crowded it was. It was smooth with good coffee flavor and wasn't overly bitter. My sister tried the BB code, but she said the banana flavor wasn't very prominent. Their pastries looked really good, and it was hard for us decide which one to try. We ended up getting the coconut purple potato bun, and it was reminiscent of Filipino pan de ube to me. read more

Good thing I ordered online because the line was long! Also this coffee shop is very spacious in the inside, but also pretty packed! All tables were practically filled lol. I saw my order on the counter and just grabbed it and go. I remembered there were so many pretty drinks they had on the menu, but Yelp recommended a cold brew. I got the BB code and my friends got the BB code, matcha latte, and london fog. So I only have my critiques on the BB code, which it was pretty good! The banana taste is pretty prominent, but I thought it was a bit too sweet for me. Although, I still enjoyed the drink overall. I wish the coffee was stronger too, but it's a pretty solid place. read more

I've actually came here three times since my 7 years ago review. I've written reviews for their Trouble Shooter, C++, and Avatar before but it's no longer posted for some reason. "Life happens, coffee helps... order online!" Well, today, we ordered for delivery as that is an option on their website. I went with their ~$6.50, Iced BB Code which is a cold brew coffee with house made banana milk and it's sweetened with brown sugar (banana milk contains dairy). It was so bad, I gagged when I took that first sip. I LOVE banana in coffee, but this one was not good. It had a bitter undertone and the aftertaste reminded me of Fritos. Fritos, to me, has always had a sour stinky sock/armpit vibe to it. That's what this had. The banana milk itself was a bit chunky, I thought it would be more smooth. My brother did order half sweet and said maybe they left out the brown sugar (would make sense because I don't taste brown sugar)--but I still feel like the combo should have been good even without brown sugar. So overall, I'm just disappointed with the execution of this drink. I personally would NOT recommend it. My brother ordered two other drinks. One of them was $6.00, The Dreamer, this is their house made blue chai latte with a blend of loose leaf black tea and spices, also sweetened with brown sugar. The taste of it was sweet & fragrant. But also quite thin and watery. I like my chai to be more on the creamy and more full bodied side. It was ok, but it could have been better. I wonder if it's maybe the blue portion that they added that made it so watery? It's not for me, but out of the 3 drinks, if I had to... I'd drink it. So, he also ordered a matcha & coconut milk drink. It was visually not appealing and from first glance I already knew it was going to be bad. To me, it tasted like watery grass. To him, it tasted like "dog water." The matcha settled on the bottom of the drink which was odd, so I recommended he mix it in hopes it would taste better. This is really not on par for the Forum Coffee because they used to make iced matcha drinks REALLY well. Overall, I'm really disappointed on how these drinks turned out because the Forum Coffee used to be a place I'd recommend to many people. And to see them go downhill like this is sad. I mean, perhaps it's better in person, but if they offer online ordering you'd think the drinks would be good too. read more
This was my go to back in college. It seems to still be a great spot full of students and families. They don't have big tables anymore and have opted for smaller ones which I'd find it harder to work on, but people were still doing their thing. Their spring specials include an ube cream, so my friends and I got it! I got it with cold brew and they all got it with matcha. I had a sip of their matcha's and didn't find it particularly amazing. The matcha had a pre-packaged taste even though they use ceremonial uji. I LOVED it with my cold brew. It was the perfect amount of sweet and the cold brew was a bit on the sour end. There's no nutritional facts on the menu or on the app, but you do have the option to order drinks less sweet if you'd like.

Doubtful, there's hardly chairs for adults because this place is always packed!
