Cute & quirky coffee shop I tried the maple street extra hot with almond milk & it was sooo good! I also tried the mint condition iced with oat milk and it was equally delicious I believe they only serve oat milk or almond milk for the coffees unfortunately but I would still come back to try other items on the menu!

I've been here a few times and enjoy their coffee. My standard is a hot Americano, but I've also tried their cold brew. The coffee is on point - smooth, strong and not bitter. It's usually busy, but on a Friday morning, I was able to grab a seat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed vibe. It's a cozy and artistic place with dogs allowed indoors. Service has always been friendly and sweet.

Pony Boy - caffeine free drink

I already had a Vietnamese Coffee and a Matcha Latte before I visited Mnemonic Coffee so I didn't need any more caffeine that day. I'm glad they offered "Zero Proof" drinks which was their caffeine free options. I ordered the Pony Boy which was saffron syrup, grapefruit, and Topo Chico, but I'm not sure if I actually tasted any grapefruit. Maybe I was expecting the Fever Tree Grapefruit soda which is super flavorful and sweet, but this drink was more Saffron than Grapefruit. It was decent! I really enjoyed the decor inside, but there isn't much seating space

Cute little spot in Hillcrest. I was lucky to find parking right in front, which was a huge plus. The staff was very professional, and the latte was great. Seating is extremely limited though, so I wouldn't recommend coming during weekends or peak hours unless you're just grabbing something to go.

This is an intimate coffee shop in both size and community. The staff seems to have a close relationship with each other and regulars. We got one of our favorites (cold brew) and it did not disappoint. It had chocolaty notes and was a great price as well. Not only did they have glasses for the cold brew but a glass straw as well which I personally really appreciate. The quirky almost retro diner vibe with tile coasters, and a nice fall color palette. Overall its a great spot to grab a coffee and im sure we will be back.

100% amazing! I would come back to San Diego to go to this place! The owners are extremely friendly and clearly love their business and what they do. It's a small shop, with little seating (and usually a line) but they talk to each customer as if it's their friend so they make it worthwhile. First time I got a barista recommendation (I told them to make whatever light sweet, simple latte that I could try) - they made a vanilla and cinnamon latte. I am not kidding when I say it was this best thing I've ever had and I dream about this drink all the time. I just went again yesterday and got a another specialty latte that was orange Bossom and cardamom and it was phenomenal. Cappuccinos are always smooth as well.

Believe the hype and the 5-star ratings! Mnemonic Coffee is THE SPOT! I had made a quick pit stop in the area and before leaving, I saw Mnemonic out of the corner of my eye and decided to stop by. WHAT A FANTASTIC CHOICE, I soon came to realize! The staff members were super friendly and helpful! After perusing the menu, I went with one of the specials, The Cardi B, which featured a housemade cardamom syrup. Within a handful on minutes, my beverage was crafted to perfection and served in a cute glass with a metal straw. I supremely appreciated the reusable/sustainable aspect and that it was an option. IMMEDIATE green flag in my book. Plus, I'm a sucker for cold beverages in glassware. While seating was limited due to the space being intimate, there are a handful of tables as well as seating at the bar. I was able to snag a spot at the bar, where I enjoyed my beverage and did a bit of work in my laptop. Overall, this was a FANTASTIC SPOT! I recommend swinging by if you're in the area, whether you're solo or with a friend. I'll definitely be stopping by again soon to try more menu options!

Tried the chiaroscuro! Wow what an incredible blend /contrast of balsamic, sweet and citrusy scent! Super creative and made me feel good! Great suggestion by the barista ( assuming owner) and I observed how they treated their regulars- very personable. Love the counter and the cozy vibe.

Solid coffee spot but pretty pricey and only oat milk. I'm totally for oat milk as an option but I like standard whole milk instead and wish that was an option, especially since I felt like the oat milk upcharge was added into the price. I came on a Sunday around 10 and it wasn't too busy. The space is definitely a cool vibe. Not very big but they do have some seating that people were sitting/hanging out at. The baristas were very friendly and helpful in letting me know about the different drink options. I got the Maple Street which is maple syrup and cinnamon. I was worried it would be pretty sweet but they said that's actually one of their least sweet options. After trying it I agree. It wasnt too sweet at all.

    I got the top one!

I googled best coffee in San Diego and this popped up as one of the options. Wanted to go for a long walk, so I got the directions and walked from Normal Heights. Small little shop, 3 tables and some bar seating. Not the great traffic pattern ever but what can ya do. Solid service, everyone was super friendly and they worked pretty quickly. I ordered a latte called...I'm forgetting what it was called. Churascuro? I'm not exaggerating when I say it was hands down the best latte I've ever had. Coffee, lemon, balsamic glaze...it shouldn't have worked. But it did. I liked it so much I went back the next day and got another one.

Got the cortado and it was wonderful, creamy and strong! My friend got the basic and she loved it. I will definitely be back. The vibe and the decor of this place is amazing. Will definitely be back.

Very friendly good vibes from the workers. I got the iced black jack half sweet delish! I don't like artificial flavor and their house made syrup is so good the black pepper is cool. Not a lot of seating but nice place.

Parking is a bit of a pain bit of you are in waking distance or come early enough it shouldn't be an issue. Sometimes they run out of items if you come later in the day. They have a special Bagel of the month, so make sure to ask what it is. They have several bagel flavors, and different flavor cream cheese spreads. I love the habanero bagel, it's one of my favorites, but just be warned it is very hot. Definitely don't eat it without something cold to drink. They also have a breakfast sandwich called the San Diego which is a favorite of several people I know. You chose the bagel you want it with and they add fried eggs, bacon, cheese and aioli. I highly reccomend it. I've not had a lot of their deinis, but i did order the cinna-bee which has honey, cinnamon, espresso and milk. I thought it was good and would order it again. Definitely check them out and try some of their bagels, or perhaps one of their sandwiches.

I tried several coffee shops along Seaport Village--some stood out for creative flavors, others for strong espresso--but Spill the Beans nailed the perfect balance every single time. We went back multiple times, and the consistency was impressive. My go-to was an iced "Basic Sitch" with oat milk, while my husband loved the warm "Cinna-bee." Both were incredible. The espresso quality was top-tier, and the drinks were made quickly without sacrificing flavor. Our only regret? Discovering this place halfway through the trip. Had we found it sooner, we would've been there every single day. This review is solely based on the coffee, as we didn't get a chance to try their breakfast sandwiches, though the options looked appetizing. This particular location isn't a fully built-out coffee shop, but it's perfect for grabbing your drink and taking a stroll along Seaport Village or, enjoying it at a nearby bench or outdoor seating area.

Finally got to try this cute Japanese cafe we saw on TikTok, and it did not disappoint!…read more Service: [5/5] The two girls who helped us were so sweet and made the whole experience. We were seated at the bar, which ended up being such a vibe--we got to chat with the girl behind the bar and watch her make lattes and desserts right in front of us. That kind of interaction really sets this place apart. Price: [4.5/5] It's on the pricier side, but honestly it feels fair given the quality of food you're getting. You can taste where your money is going. Food/Drinks: [5/5] Matcha Latte -- We shared one, extra sweet at my request, and it was perfect. Exactly what I was hoping for. Chef Soichi's Karaage -- We had this as an appetizer and my boyfriend made a point to say this is the closest he's had to traditional Japanese karaage. High praise from someone who's passionate about his Japanese culture. Hayashi Omurice -- This is their most popular dish and it's easy to see why. The demi-glaze has a really unique flavor that ties the whole dish together beautifully. This was my pick and I'd order it again without hesitation. Guratan -- My boyfriend's order, and it was incredibly creamy and delicious. We were both too stuffed for dessert by the end, which says a lot about the portion sizes. Ambience: [5/5] The restaurant is small, but honestly that's part of what makes it so charming. Pink everywhere with wooden accents and cherry blossoms throughout (very fitting)--it's cozy, homey, and just really well put together. The intimate size adds to the appeal rather than taking away from it. Overall Experience: [5/5] Hatsuzakara was such a wonderful first experience. Yes, we waited about 30 minutes to be seated arriving at 7:30 on a Friday night but for a waitlist-only spot this small, that's actually a pretty reasonable wait by San Diego standards. The food, the atmosphere, and the staff more than made up for it. Already looking forward to coming back to try the curry and work through their dessert menu.

I feel like everything looked really good, so it was hard to decide what to order. The dishes have small portion size despite the price. I think this kinda helps in that you have room to eat dessert! The brown sugar Okinawa tea was good but the after taste of the sugar was not good. They kept the tea pot warm, and they served oat milk on the side. Karaage had too much chicken skin for my preference. Guratan was penne pasta and not macaroni as specified in the menu. Yakisoba could have used more chicken. Omurice had the more flavor and the egg was really good. I want to try naporitan next time because of the tomato based sauce. Of the desserts I tried, the parfait was most enjoyable because of the fruit with ice cream. The mushi pudding was good; it was the thick and "hard" type of flan. I want to try kakigori next time because I saw their shaved ice machine was legit. Parking - free street parking only. Be prepared to walk up/downhill. Credit card/apple pay accepted Bathroom is only one room in the back. THE SEAT IS WARM. This was a nice gem to find in this part of town.
