banana matcha. Pandan coffee
Stacy S.

I admit I'm a coffee connoisseur. I wake up thinking about coffee and before I go to bed I think about what coffee I want in the morning. Em coffee house is definitely one of my favorite spots. Whenever I'm in the area to visit, I will always stop by to grab a cup for my long drive home. Their coffee is strong and hits the spot. I love that you can customize to the sweetness, which is a plus for me especially for Vietnamese coffee. This last time I tried their banana matcha. Surprisedly their matcha is also yummy. 50% sweetness. Deliciousness

Ceremonial Matcha Einspanner ~ 5/5! The matcha and cream was well balanced. It was one of the best matchas. My BF also got the same as me and enjoyed it. For pastries ~ we got the cheese danish and the salted matcha bread, both so good! I can't wait to come back when I'm in SD again in August.

Pandan coco latte

I ordered the pandan coconut latte with Vietnamese coffee. The coffee itself was bold and strong, with that deep, slightly bitter Vietnamese coffee flavor that really comes through in every sip. It balanced really nicely with the pandan, which added a light, fragrant sweetness without being too overpowering. The coconut element tied it all together, giving it a subtle creaminess and a hint of tropical flavor. I also loved the coconut flakes on top--they added a nice texture and a little extra flavor with each sip. The shop itself is bright, modern, big and welcoming.

FINALLY had a chance to try this place since we were in the area. Amazing Vietnamese coffee!! The hubby and I shared their coffee flight. You can try any 4 flavors. We also got an order of their bear waffles with custard. YUMMY. Great vibes & customer service. ~ Coffee Flight ~ * White Truffle Tiramisu * Cocoube * Pandan Coconut Latte * Banana Toffee Latte #DiningWithTheAndersons #TryingNewPlaces #VietnameseCoffee #Cafecito

Em Egg Biscoff Brulee 10/10

Visited the SD Em Coffee House in Mira Mesa this week. Ambiance was so great and service was wonderful. I forget the cashiers name but it was a nice gentleman working yesterday (Wednesday) around 12pm that helped me and my mom. Ordered the egg vietnamese coffee and of course it was amazing. Theres not a lot of places that can make Vietnamese coffee with a twist with all these other flavoring without taking away that strong vietnamese coffee flavor. Em Coffee House really has that down. I highly highly recommend it if you want to try vietnamese coffee but with different flavors (ex: Egg coffee, Ube, White chocolate, etc!).

Went to get hotpot in the area and my friends were looking for a quick pick-me-up before a road trip. This is one of the first places that popped up and I'm glad we stopped by! They had multiple interesting latte options and you can customize how sweet or strong your coffee is. Seems like a good study spot as well!

Hubs in search of coffee and wanted to check this place out. Cute shop with quite a few tables indoors. Hubs ordered the pandan coconut coffee. I ordered the banana toffee coffee. Together, they were close to $20. Our coffees were good and they were topped with quite a bit of pandan or banana cream. Reason for 3 stars is because it seems like half the cup was ice, half was the cream, and not a whole lot of coffee. For the price, I expected more. I was wanting more after finishing our "large" coffees. Hubs noted the same.

This is a solid spot for coffee and matcha. I've enjoyed both every time I've gone. The banana matcha einspänner was really good, and their egg coffee was solid too. Service and drinks were good, and the interior is super cute with LOTS of seating. It gets pretty packed, but the vibe is nice. I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in the area.

Em was very busy on Saturday morning with nearly every table occupied. It was great to see so many people enjoying coffee, matcha, food, and flights of different drinks. I ordered a small Em while the hubby ordered a large. It's the classic coffee that was iced with condensed milk. It was more bitter than I'd like but had the right amount of sweetness and creaminess to it. Their matcha options look interesting and a few people ordered the flight of drinks. I plan on trying the flight when I return and ordering the pandan matcha or pandan coconut latte as one of my choices. Both look amazing and sound delicious. The service was quick and super friendly while the shop itself was nicely decorated and very clean.

This establishment is big on being a coffee house rather than any baked goods place.. few options for breakfast, but coffee house wise, it's a nice gem.. Viet Phin, Espresso, Ceremonial Matcha, Em signature cream coffees, and each category has lotsa choices within.. I tried Spanish Latte with condensed milk, unbelievably velvety and delicious.. had it with an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich.. great experience, nice ambience.. certainly would recommend it!!

Strawberry matcha

Lots of seating but this place fills up fast! There are outlets so it's a good place to come work/study. I got a Vietnamese coffee here and it's a familiar flavor. They have fresh baked pastries but I didn't try them. It's definitely a place that focuses on Viet coffees and matcha drinks.

Bear waffles (cheese and custard)
Amma C.

It's the variety of flavors offered here for me. I appreciated that there were several to choose from so we opted to try the banana toffee latte. I've had the coco ube latte before and it was also good. And couldn't resist the bear waffles in both flavors (cheese and custard). Although at first I couldn't tell which bear waffle was which since there was only a little amount of custard in the middle of one of them (it still had cheese like the other), but both were still tasty and had the texture of a bubble waffle.

Still my go to place when I'm craving something sweet and special. Their cakes may be pricey, but…read morein my opinion, for the amount of work, effort, and quality of ingredients, I think they continue to be fair. For example, some other specialty bakeries/shops are charging similar prices for cakes and cheesecakes that are much simpler. In comparison, Extraordinary Dessert cakes take 3-4 days to make, have 6-8 alternating layers, and are typically adorned with edible gold and/or flowers. The key is to find which items you like and which are okay to pass on next time. What we ried this time: -Match Misu Cake (7/10): ricotta cake layers soaked in matcha and layered with marscapone whipped cream. This one was pretty good and ranks in my middle to high range. I only wish there was more matcha flavor (maybe if you dine in and get the sauce, this would help) or the matcha was paired with another flavor ... either go fruity (maybe a raspberry sauce, strawberry pieces, white peach pieces, or like a peach oolong cream layer) or go chocolately/coffee (maybe had some crushed up chocolate covered espresso beans). My go to's: -Ivoire Royale (10/10) - my ultimate favorite still. If you like light desserts, white chocolate, berries, and moist vanilla cake, thus one is for you. Classy and unpretentious -Shangrila (10/10) - my other favorite and will make you feel like a princess with all the pink chocolate curls. A little bit adventurous and innocently elegant. Ones to skip: -Au Chocolate / La Bete Noire / Dame Chocolate - get the Viking instead. That's my favorite of all their chocolate cakes -Lemon ricotta - get the Passionfruit Ricotta instead -Torta misu - the matcha misu is better. The tortilla misuse made me want a regular piece of tirmaisu than a cake version -Coconut cream - not bad, not amazing though

Also just so everyone is aware they're also liars just to mention & stupid.. she tells us her name is Karen thinking we don't know the owners name lol .. She was at the register at 7:20pm and was extremely rude and dismissive after we placed our order, especially regarding a child's dietary restrictions and health concerns. We politely asked if it would be possible to purchase a small cup of fruit , even just a couple strawberries cut up, because one child in our group cannot have sweets due to very strict dietary restrictions . Instead of simply saying they were unable to accommodate the request or offering another option, we were told to "go somewhere else," despite already spending the amount we did . The complete lack of professionalism and basic customer service was honestly shocking. It's disappointing to be treated that way at a place we have supported so consistently. This place has been going downhill , management for this place needs to step up .

Much to my chagrin, my latest visit has now become my last. Excitedly, I brought my four-legged son to enjoy his first pup cup, but the service and portion sizes were fit for a hobbit at best. One would think that, in such dark times, one could still find even a glimpse of hope in an ice cream cone. I was proven wrong, and my outlook on the current state of affairs only dimmed further. I ate my ice cream in two bites. Twenty dollars for two cones, four bites total. I didn't even bother feeding my son the pup cup. He deserves better. The world deserves better. Bigger portions. Bigger smiles. Makes perfect sense, in my humble opinion. I suppose your employees do not agree.
