Service was great... Line was long but moved super quick. Very organized inside and servers weren't rushing and took their time to make sure you tried the flavors you wanted before making a selection. They used small metal spoons for samples, which i thought was cool and not wasteful. Their flavors are unique and were hit or miss for me. They had a ton of vegan options that are coconut based and a few really funky flavors like Turkey Stuffing and Cranberry Sauce. In the heart of Little Italy so parking is always bad. Overall prices were high but reasonable given the located. There was no indoor or outdoor seating that I could recall. They had a cooler with Pints of ice-cream to-go and a merch stand.

4/25/2026 - not busy inside. They offer samples in small metal spoons. I grabbed the vanilla in a cone and a friend grabbed strawberry balsamic with black pepper in cup. Total price was about $18. 5 stars.

LOVE salt and straw ice cream! Best chain ice cream place around. They get very creative with their flavors, and it's fun to go in and sample some of the weirder ones. Their monthly rotating menu has me coming back frequently to see what they come up with next! February's all-chocolate special menu was one of my favorites. It can get a bit crowded and often has a line out the door of people stopping by after a nice dinner in Little Italy, but it's worth the wait! However if you don't want to stand in line or try samples, I'd highly recommend picking up a pint from the fridge and heading straight to checkout. I'll be back again soon!

Fantastic ice cream! Top quality ingredients and delicious (and sometimes weird) flavors. Tip: skip the long line and order online for quicker service!

Half eaten Tacolate

Their Limited Tacolate collab with Taco Bell brought me in on a Saturday night. We grabbed dinner a few doors down but I was sure to save room for this cool treat. It was a pretty popular spot. The was a line almost out the door when we came. The cashier was nice, she allowed me to pay for my Tacolate without standing in the ice cream line. There is merch, sauces and such as soon was you walk in. It was fun to browse but definitely didn't need extra sweets. Love the fun flavors. Will be back!

If you are an adventurous foodie and an ice cream lover, Salt and Straw is heaven. With unique, artisan flavors and with a seasonal menu, they always have something new to try. They also have very good dairy-free options too! You can also sample the flavors so you don't have to commit to a funky flavor without knowing you love it first. Pro tip: if you're indecisive, take advantage of their split scoop, it's a small additional fee but worth it! A couple favorite flavors: - Olive Oil - Strawberry and Coconut sherbet (V) - Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough - Freckled Mint Chocolate Chip

Weird ice cream? Yup! Tasty ice cream? Yup! Always nice workers, and even if the line is long it moves quickly.

Flight of 4 scoops

It was my first time trying this ice cream spot and based on waiting in line for almost 25 mins I was hoping it would blow my taste buds away...but I felt the flavor combos just didn't hit compared to to other shops. Service was great especially seeing how busy they were. With all the hustle and bustle, the place was still really clean. Cool experience to try all kinds of flavors before picking what you actually want. I went with the flight of 4 scoops. They ran out of waffle chips but they gave me a waffle cone in place which to me was a better deal. It's worth the visit but don't think I'll be a regular visitor if they have other locations.

Costumer service was exceptional! The staff are all friendly and welcoming. The line goes fast even though majority of the time, especially at night it's long. I was a bit dissatisfied with the flavor selection. You're allowed to have samples of flavors and the way you drop the spoon down to return it is super unique and a cute touch! Overall, I was happy with the experience; however, I don't think I will return.

I love all of the unique flavors you could get at Salt & Straw. When reading the menu of flavors, you would think yuk but somehow they make it work and it actually tastes amazing! Every time I come here I find something new to try and it has always been 5 stars. They are super friendly ands will let you sample before you buy it so you are not stuck with a flavor you don't like. Highly recommend for anything ice cream.

What a wonderful icecream shop in little italy love the flavors especially the ones that are dairy free love it, I love the waffle cones and love how the texture of the icecream is soo smooth and luscious.... Sometimes there can be a long line but worth the wait.

My wife and I love ice cream...seriously, it's kind of a passion finding GREAT ice cream. When we drove past Salt and Straw, Wifey wanted to skip straight to dessert. We don't have one near us, but she's followed them on social media for years. After dinner we walked over and there was a line...like probably 75 feet of people waiting. Obviously, this is a sign... We spent the next 25 minutes trying to figure out what we wanted and we both hit home runs. I want with the holiday special The Great Candycopia and Wifey ordered the Coffee and Love Nuts. Now, mine was great, but Wifey thinks it might have been the best cup of ice cream she's had (bold statement, I know). I loved the feel of this place. Well kept, line moves a little slow because they allow you to taste, but it's worth the wait. And honestly, way cheaper than I expected. They do great things with other charities so I was happy to have spent some money here. I'd 1000% come back.

Chocolate chip ice cream, sorry late pic!

Ask the Community - Salt & Straw

How often do the specialty flavors change?

Our flavors change just about once a month. We've had a slightly adjusted schedule for the past year, but will resume monthly flavors starting with our upcoming launch on 9/24 of our Halloween Ice SCREAM! Series.

Is it open now?

It was open for pick up when I went a couple weeks ago... not sure if you can walk in now.

On what day of the month do they change the menu?

Are there vegan options and how long is usually the wait when it's busy?

They always have one vegan option and lines can be long, however go during off times and shouldn't be too bad.

How is the wait during the weekdays in the afternoon?

I've been there twice around 1 and no line. But there may be more tourists and kids in the summer.

What kind of milk is used for the vegan flavors ??

I know some of them use coconut

Their cakes may be pricey, but…read morein my opinion, for the amount of work, effort, and quality of ingredients, I think they continue to be fair. For example, some other specialty bakeries/shops are charging similar prices for cakes and cheesecakes that are much simpler. In comparison, Extraordinary Dessert cakes take 3-4 days to make, have 6-8 alternating layers, and are typically adorned with edible gold and/or flowers. The key is to find which items you like and which are okay to pass on next time. What we ried this time: -Match Misu Cake (7/10): ricotta cake layers soaked in matcha and layered with marscapone whipped cream. This one was pretty good and ranks in my middle to high range. I only wish there was more matcha flavor (maybe if you dine in and get the sauce, this would help) or the matcha was paired with another flavor ... either go fruity (maybe a raspberry sauce, strawberry pieces, white peach pieces, or like a peach oolong cream layer) or go chocolately/coffee (maybe had some crushed up chocolate covered espresso beans). My go to's: -Ivoire Royale (10/10) - my ultimate favorite still. If you like light desserts, white chocolate, berries, and moist vanilla cake, thus one is for you. Classy and unpretentious -Shangrila (10/10) - my other favorite and will make you feel like a princess with all the pink chocolate curls. A little bit adventurous and innocently elegant. Ones to skip: -Au Chocolate / La Bete Noire / Dame Chocolate - get the Viking instead. That's my favorite of all their chocolate cakes -Lemon ricotta - get the Passionfruit Ricotta instead -Torta misu - the matcha misu is better. The tortilla misuse made me want a regular piece of tirmaisu than a cake version -Coconut cream - not bad, not amazing though

Also just so everyone is aware they're also liars just to mention & stupid.. she tells us her name is Karen thinking we don't know the owners name lol .. She was at the register at 7:20pm and was extremely rude and dismissive after we placed our order, especially regarding a child's dietary restrictions and health concerns. We politely asked if it would be possible to purchase a small cup of fruit , even just a couple strawberries cut up, because one child in our group cannot have sweets due to very strict dietary restrictions . Instead of simply saying they were unable to accommodate the request or offering another option, we were told to "go somewhere else," despite already spending the amount we did . The complete lack of professionalism and basic customer service was honestly shocking. It's disappointing to be treated that way at a place we have supported so consistently. This place has been going downhill , management for this place needs to step up .

Waitress barely came to the table, we had to get up and ask her for things. I actually told the owner this time--the guy who sits outside near the entrance. Let's see if he does anything. Also, we had more than six people, and they included the tip in the bill, but they don't tell you that verbally and just hand you the machine to pay and it just shows the total and then asks you to fill in the tip amount.. So I asked to look at the bill and there's a charge near the bottom that says "charges and fees", I asked if that was the tip and she said yes. So this is one of those places that gets a lot of people to pay double the tip amount by not telling them it's included. Slimy if you ask me. We've tried several places in Little Italy, and honestly, this place has the best food at the best prices, but buyer beware.
