The golden coast shaken espresso is a must. Beautiful outdoor area and friendly staff. I love the little shop of trinkets and cookbooks. Dog friendly patio and great bagels with herb cream cheese. A nice place to sit outside and enjoy a coffee in the morning at a chill pace.

Stumbled upon this cute coffee cart on our stroll in South Park. This place has a lot of outside seating and a wide variety of coffee and goods. I tried a simple vanilla latte, both drinks were served fast and were very delicious. The girls in the front were very friendly and recommended favorites their usual customers get. I am not from the area but definitely recommend to anyone stopping by!

Used to walk over to this spot to get my daily dose of coffee on the weekends and it never disappointed! Their iced coffee was made perfect for the warm summer mornings!

Drinks: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 I live in the neighborhood and had walked by this spot a number of times before finally trying it and I'm so glad I did. I've been back several times since, and my experience has been consistent across all visits (big win!). ATMOSPHERE: 5/5 I love all the outdoor seating and the dog-friendly environment. It's primarily outdoors and the patio space is extensive. There's plenty of shade on a sunny day, which makes it easy to hang out for a bit. I also really appreciate the serve-yourself water station. I didn't go inside, but at least outside I didn't notice any outlets or WiFi options, so if you're planning to work, make sure your phone is charged and you have a hotspot. I also really appreciate that the hours are fairly extensive (open until 5pm)! SERVICE: 5/5 The barista provided great recommendations based on what kind of drink I was in the mood for (coffee vs not coffee, hot vs iced), which I appreciate the additional attention to preferences. For drinks, I ordered: Hazelnut Brown Sugar Latte (hot): 4/5 The coffee itself was brewed nicely (not burnt) and wasn't scalding hot, which is a win. The hazelnut brown sugar flavor didn't totally wow me, but that's likely personal preference as hazelnut isn't usually my go-to. Still a solid option for someone who loves a hazelnut latte. Golden Coast (iced): 5/5 Delicious. This was a barista recommendation, and I was pleasantly surprised by how gentle the coffee flavor was. Still strong, but not sharp. There's a subtle sweetness and a really nice texture. I didn't think I'd like this as much as I did, but I'd absolutely order it again. Pup Cups: I mean... it's a pup cup, lol. My dogs obviously loved it. That said, I do appreciate that they use small cups and add a little biscuit on top. The thoughtful touch sets it apart. While I haven't been enough times to try their full menu, I have noticed that they do have a good number of seasonal rotations. I love that they keep things fresh on their menu and it does make me want to come back again and try what's new! All in all, a great neighborhood coffee spot with a relaxed vibe, friendly service, and drinks worth coming back for. I haven't tried the food or pastries, but everything I've seen from them has looked great!

Stopped by this weekend and had a really pleasant experience! The staff was super friendly, and the space is bright, open, and inviting--perfect for a relaxed weekend coffee run. I tried the cold brew and the salmon bagel. The bagel was nicely toasted and flavorful; if anything, I might add a little lemon, but it was still delightful. The cold brew was smooth and refreshing--definitely hit the spot. Overall, a great spot with great vibes and quality coffee. Will be back!

The coffee is pretty great, However the service did not meet expectations. Barista was not helpful with the menu, and actually at times seemed to not even want to take our order. We ordered the iced Golden Coast, iced banana Carmel, and hot vanilla latte. All were good and definitely a quality coffee. The outdoor seating was great as the weather was good.

We love this communal location!! Great inside & outside space, able to post up to do work or play some board games. The coffee is delicious & just tried their food for the first time & I'm very happy! All their sandwiches had a gluten free option which is amazing. Workers are always friendly as well.

this is how i received the coffee after i paid, the coffee was almost 9 dollars +tip this is a first here please fill the cup

Lovely coffee spot. You order from a trailer set-up. Pretty limited indoor seating, it's mostly outdoor. But San Diego has beautiful weather, even in the winter when I came, so most folk were enjoying the fresh air outdoors anyways. This place was all the vibes, with a good cup of coffee! :)

This place looked like it would be amazing but the coffee was disappointing. The patio area is so adorable and charming, but the drinks were not good. I got the banana caramel latte and it tasted bland. My friends got different variations of matcha lattes and it tasted like milk.

My absolute fave coffee shop, I come here multiple times a week! They make absolutely delicious drinks, the food is great even though they are working with a tiny kitchen, and the baristas are the best. Make sure the order the Ube matcha latte, it's the best I've ever had outside of Japan!!!

I just wanted to grab a coffee and have a toast with smoked salmon and avocado on crispy grilled bread. If you're here just for coffee, I'd say it's pretty basic--nothing special. And if you like coffee with cream, the cream is right on the table, so you can add as much as you like. But the toast with smoked salmon, radish, avocado, and crunchy bread was absolutely delicious! I really enjoyed it. I'm giving this place 4 stars because I make better coffee at home, but the toast was truly amazing--so tasty! The atmosphere is modern and casual. It's a good spot to sit down and work or just have a quick bite. The staff is friendly, everything is clean, and there are both indoor and outdoor seating areas. I sat outside, and I liked that you can hide from the sun on a hot day and still enjoy your meal comfortably.

Good coffee. Very slow service. Not the barista's fault. He needed a second set of hands.

The road to Money Trees was somewhat chaotic for me, but I am glad I got to try this unique drink. Ultimately, I would rate this a 3.5ish for me, but I do tend to round up for small businesses. My tip for anyone reading this review is that the hours are not exact on any site I checked. Since Morning Dew is run by one person, I definitely understand that it's more difficult to start precisely on time. I would advise either clearer communication of daily hours on their IG, or to simply come by later to give them some cushion for set-up. I ended up waiting an hour from the listed opening time for the owner to finish setting up. Thankfully, there were plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, and I took a nice stroll, popping in and out of shops in the area. Morning Dew is located in Jaguar Paw, which is a bar at night. The space is super cute and the menu has many unique drinks that tempted me, but I ended up going with Money Trees, which has pandan and banana. I have never had a banana-flavored drink before but I saw a lot of hype around these types of drinks, so I wanted to give them a try myself. It was pretty pricy but as a sweet-treat advocate, I wanted to try something new. Upon first sip, I was hit with strong pandan and banana flavors. There was a slightly astringent aftertaste from the banana, so I do feel like the flavor is from real fruit and not artificial syrup. Unfortunately, it was not my favorite drink as I think I prefer more matcha-forward options. It was also a bit thinner than I prefer, so it felt like a banana juice. While I am intrigued by some of the other drinks on offer, I do not think Morning Dew will become part of my regular rotation. Between the prices, location, and hours, this is definitely a special occasion, friends-in-town type of spot for me.

The menu featured various matcha tea drinks which seems to be all the rage right now. The same seating arrangement of the bar countertop and tables across from it was available if you wanted to hang out and chill. A sign behind the bar described the ceremonial grade matcha that was used with the region of origin and the flavors imparted to the powder. Five different matcha drinks were offered along with hot and cold coffees and lattes. The top three matcha choices were priced at $8 each. I chose the Ordinary Pleasure which was the first one. Pandan sticky rice milk and mango puree were added to the matcha and topped with a salted coconut foam. I wasn't a fan of the foam, but the matcha flavor was intense and contrasted by the fruity puree on the bottom of the cup. The baristas were very focused with measuring the exact amounts for each ingredient in the drinks they were preparing. The matcha quality seemed to be very good based on what I tasted so maybe it's why the price was $1 higher than what I have tried elsewhere.

Food: 5/5 Drinks: 4/5…read moreService: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 I love the Dark Horse brand across the board, but the Golden Hill location has consistently been my favorite. The baristas are kind and efficient, and they remember my dogs which of course wins me over instantly. The location itself is super convenient: easily walkable, a fair amount of street parking, and easy access right off the highway. I also really appreciate that they have lots of outdoor seating and offer pup cups, so I feel comfortable stopping by with my dogs. I also love that they have a rewards program via Cash App/phone number/the credit card you use. It's especially convenient that this is all tracked digitally and automatically when you swipe your credit card. For drinks, I've ordered: The Champ (iced): 4/5 A very popular choice. I do enjoy this coffee and the honey flavor is lovely, but the cinnamon can be a bit strong for me. They use powdered cinnamon over the top, which from a texture standpoint isn't my favorite. I do find the cinnamon is less overpowering when this drink is ordered hot instead of iced. Salted Maple Latte (iced): 5/5 This is my go-to. Delicious, strong coffee without being bitter and very well balanced overall. The maple flavor doesn't jump out in an obvious way, but adds a subtle sweetness that isn't overly sweet or sharp. Interestingly, I think the 16oz is better balanced than the 12oz in terms of coffee/milk/maple ratios. Pumpkin Spiced Latte (hot): 3/5 I'm not the biggest pumpkin spice latte fan, so I wasn't expecting to love this. It does have a clear pumpkin spice flavor, but the texture coats the mouth a bit more than I prefer (likely from the pumpkin), which is part of why this isn't my favorite. For food, I've ordered: Vegan Donuts: 5/5 I thought these used to be made by a sister company of Dark Horse, but I believe they're now sourced from Nomad Donuts. They usually have 1-2 rotating flavors each day, and since the main difference is the glaze on top, you really can't go wrong with any flavor you get. The texture is closer to a cake donut. Super tasty and not too sweet. Almond Cake: 5/5 Delicious and decadent. Very light, sweet, and crumbly. This isn't something I'd get regularly since it's just a bit too sweet for me without feeling like dessert, but it's undeniably tasty. To summarize, this is a consistently solid location with great service, excellent drinks, and small bites that pair perfectly with your favorite cup of joe. This is my go-to neighborhood coffee stop.

Sadly the ice cream shop was closed when I came back around 2pm. I found that to be odd, or perhaps it was open~ it was dark and doors were closed. But anyways, thankfully, Dark Horse Coffee Roasters was still open till I believe 3:30pm! (I went on a Sunday). They have indoor seating and a big space outdoor for seating. We found parking on the street, no paying needed. They also have a bathroom, which is nice, but most people don't ask for the key (since it's essentially open, only locked when in use). The door is frosted and you can see the outline of someone as they stand near it. I think it could be a little more frosty! There were a lot of workers the day I went and they were nice. The prices were good for specialty lattes and the guy informed us that both sizes use the same amount of shots (2), the only difference is quantity of milk! I got a classic, $6, 12 oz Iced Salted Maple (S'Maple) Latte. It was good, but I wouldn't mind if the salted maple was more flavorful. It's quite subtle! The outdoor space is really great for meet ups with large groups of family/friends/work. I think this location is really lovely and would recommend people to come check it out!
