    Creamy cold brew, espresso tonic
    Brian J.

It was my first time at Provencho after a lot of good words about it from my buddy Liiban. It's nestled in a gallery warehouse and instantly it had the exact vibes I love. We were the first people there today and the baristas were friendly and helpful as I navigated through the menu. I ordered the creamy cold brew and the espresso tonic. Creamy cold brew was a great baseline for me. I love coffee and I could tell that the quality was top notch. It had the perfect bitterness and sweetness. Espresso tonic was a revelation. It was the first one i've ever had and it was great. Probably couldn't have a better first experience with a coffee shop, I recommend this place absolutely.

The Costa Rican pour-over we enjoyed in the cafe was lovely but the real treasure is the bag I brought home. Great cafe! Greater coffee. If I lived in SD, Prove how would be in my rotation, for sure.

I think it's connected to art gallery(?) but it felt like a maze to walk through, it was fun. Highly recommend checking it out! Matcha flavor a little more earthy and powdery compared to other places. Got both with oat milk, they were not overly sweet. Sesame was too overpowering in the sesame matcha. Matchas 7/10 Ambience 10/10 Limited parking!!! Horror

Very busy with a long line, luckily it went by quickly. Great coffee and the boy loved his Oreo concha and hot chocolate. Thank you for opening the back gate so my child's wheel chair can wheel on over to a table to catch some sun. Dog friendly, Ollie made some friends. We will return.

I always have an awesome time down at Provecho! Coffee Co. in Barrio Logan. It's situated inside of Bread & Salt, an incredible and down-to-earth art gallery that hosts a great range of installations and exhibits year round. The atmosphere is welcoming, open, and feels friendly toward people from all walks of life, families, and even dogs! I've had a handful of drinks here, including the Americano, cortado, and oat milk latte. Everything is really smooth, balanced, and tasty. I really enjoy working here with my laptop sometimes. Since the WiFi is so strong and the vibes are so nice. Definitely recommend trying Provecho! out--I'd even say it's worth the drive from further spots like Chula Vista or Clairemont.

Service is so welcoming and sincere! The vibe was vibing!! Sade music playing and super chill ambiance. I loved every part of it. And I can't forget the top tier menu selection! I had to get two drinks as I couldn't choose just one! I went with the hot pilloncilo latte and iced sesame latte. Wow! So delicious! Thanks for Ceci, Rosanna and the other cool guys working! You all are beautiful people!

This coffee shop was definitely off the beaten path. Had a unique vibe within it. That was artsy and welcoming. I really liked the vibe inside and you can tell there was a lot of regulars posted doing work or visiting. I have never been to a coffee shop that offered the flavors that this place did. The barista at the counter was very helpful answering all my questions. I was very pleased with her suggestions for our coffee. If you have a hard time string from traditional coffee, shops that are more mainstream like Starbucks this may not be a good fit for you. However, if you're open for adventure, I highly recommend that you come here and enjoy something new and exciting. It also seems as if there is lots of different art pieces you can walk around and see. I wish there was more directions around this so I didn't feel like I was breaking the rules as I did that lol

Mi nuevo café favorito! While strolling through Barrio, I stumbled upon this hidden gem and I'm so glad I did. It's inside a mixed‑use building filled with cool things -- art, creative businesses, and little surprises everywhere. The colors, furniture, and the gorgeous handmade ceramics and dishware give the space its own unique, minimal‑but‑playful style, with just a touch of that warehouse feel (which I always love). The staff are friendly, many are bilingual (always a plus in my book), and the whole place feels very community‑forward -- part coffee shop, part creative hub, part neighborhood gathering space. I love the large outdoor patio, the quirky little community shack/installation (you'll know exactly what I mean when you see it), and the honor‑system shelf of books and sketchbooks -- definitely not the kind of books you'd find at a traditional bookstore. Absolutely love it here and honestly ready to never leave.

The coffee shop is hidden in this unique little warehouse in Logan Heights. There's a small set up for the bar in the center of the warehouse. The barista who took our order was really nice & made conversation with us as we were ordering. The vibes of this cafe is great, but the coffee itself was lacking greatly. We are grateful that we got to try this spot, but it may be a one & done for us. Orange Dream - 7/10 (the orange flavor was pretty light. i felt like the coffee itself was not as strong as i would prefer. overall, it was just pretty milky & i was a bit let down since i had high hopes for this cafe. ~jerm) Sesame Latte - 6.7/10 (i only tasted the milk in my drink as it was really lacking on the actual coffee. the sesame foam was quite thick, but i wish it blended better with the drink as it was pretty grainy throughout. i would also prefer if the coffee has a bit less foam. overall, the coffee was quite expensive for what it is. ~tine)

Walked in on a Sunday morning around 9am, line was to the door but I was very disappointed with their lattes. I felt like it was too milky couldn't really taste the coffee. I had the orange and Piloncillo. If I had to choose between the two, I would order the Piloncillo. Kids chocolate milk was not good. 4/10

You must go to Provecho even if you have to take a Beta Waymo...soon to launch driverless in 2026. Provecho has been around for several years as a coffee catering service and the company launched a cold brew coffee service during the pandemic. Soon after, they settled into their permanent space in a former bread factory in Bread in Salt in the Barrio Logan neighborhood. They mostly offer single organ coffee, pour overs and specialty beverages and they like to feature coffees from Mexico. On a tasting trip we tried the Costa Rican and Columbian options which are two of my favorite coffee regions in addition to beans from the Chipas region of Mexico. We met with the owners and purchased beans and hats. They have a fun merch program. The space is open, relaxed and offers an array of art both inside and on the outside patio. At the time of this review, there is a " What You Carry" display outside in which you can place something from your pocket or handbag to add to the art exhibit. Enjoy! #Provecho #BarrioLogan #Art #Coffee

Iced Orange Dream Latte with oat-milk.

Cool little coffee shop with unique drinks. The space is pretty big but, if you didn't plan to go there, you would probably miss it. I was stuck between the Orange Dream Latte and the Black Sesame Latte. The barista suggested Orange Dream if I wanted an iced latte or Black Sesame if I wanted a hot latte. I went with the iced Orange Dream. It was delicious. It has a nice balance of coffee and a subtle orange flavor with a slight sweetness. Highly recommend eating the dried orange wedge after you finish your latte.

This may seem like a silly question. But does anyone know if they have WiFi?

Yes they do. I ended up asking the barista. I cannot remember if it was posted or not.

The road to Money Trees was somewhat chaotic for me, but I am glad I got to try this unique drink. Ultimately, I would rate this a 3.5ish for me, but I do tend to round up for small businesses. My tip for anyone reading this review is that the hours are not exact on any site I checked. Since Morning Dew is run by one person, I definitely understand that it's more difficult to start precisely on time. I would advise either clearer communication of daily hours on their IG, or to simply come by later to give them some cushion for set-up. I ended up waiting an hour from the listed opening time for the owner to finish setting up. Thankfully, there were plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, and I took a nice stroll, popping in and out of shops in the area. Morning Dew is located in Jaguar Paw, which is a bar at night. The space is super cute and the menu has many unique drinks that tempted me, but I ended up going with Money Trees, which has pandan and banana. I have never had a banana-flavored drink before but I saw a lot of hype around these types of drinks, so I wanted to give them a try myself. It was pretty pricy but as a sweet-treat advocate, I wanted to try something new. Upon first sip, I was hit with strong pandan and banana flavors. There was a slightly astringent aftertaste from the banana, so I do feel like the flavor is from real fruit and not artificial syrup. Unfortunately, it was not my favorite drink as I think I prefer more matcha-forward options. It was also a bit thinner than I prefer, so it felt like a banana juice. While I am intrigued by some of the other drinks on offer, I do not think Morning Dew will become part of my regular rotation. Between the prices, location, and hours, this is definitely a special occasion, friends-in-town type of spot for me.

The menu featured various matcha tea drinks which seems to be all the rage right now. The same seating arrangement of the bar countertop and tables across from it was available if you wanted to hang out and chill. A sign behind the bar described the ceremonial grade matcha that was used with the region of origin and the flavors imparted to the powder. Five different matcha drinks were offered along with hot and cold coffees and lattes. The top three matcha choices were priced at $8 each. I chose the Ordinary Pleasure which was the first one. Pandan sticky rice milk and mango puree were added to the matcha and topped with a salted coconut foam. I wasn't a fan of the foam, but the matcha flavor was intense and contrasted by the fruity puree on the bottom of the cup. The baristas were very focused with measuring the exact amounts for each ingredient in the drinks they were preparing. The matcha quality seemed to be very good based on what I tasted so maybe it's why the price was $1 higher than what I have tried elsewhere.

Food: 5/5 Drinks: 4/5…read moreService: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 I love the Dark Horse brand across the board, but the Golden Hill location has consistently been my favorite. The baristas are kind and efficient, and they remember my dogs which of course wins me over instantly. The location itself is super convenient: easily walkable, a fair amount of street parking, and easy access right off the highway. I also really appreciate that they have lots of outdoor seating and offer pup cups, so I feel comfortable stopping by with my dogs. I also love that they have a rewards program via Cash App/phone number/the credit card you use. It's especially convenient that this is all tracked digitally and automatically when you swipe your credit card. For drinks, I've ordered: The Champ (iced): 4/5 A very popular choice. I do enjoy this coffee and the honey flavor is lovely, but the cinnamon can be a bit strong for me. They use powdered cinnamon over the top, which from a texture standpoint isn't my favorite. I do find the cinnamon is less overpowering when this drink is ordered hot instead of iced. Salted Maple Latte (iced): 5/5 This is my go-to. Delicious, strong coffee without being bitter and very well balanced overall. The maple flavor doesn't jump out in an obvious way, but adds a subtle sweetness that isn't overly sweet or sharp. Interestingly, I think the 16oz is better balanced than the 12oz in terms of coffee/milk/maple ratios. Pumpkin Spiced Latte (hot): 3/5 I'm not the biggest pumpkin spice latte fan, so I wasn't expecting to love this. It does have a clear pumpkin spice flavor, but the texture coats the mouth a bit more than I prefer (likely from the pumpkin), which is part of why this isn't my favorite. For food, I've ordered: Vegan Donuts: 5/5 I thought these used to be made by a sister company of Dark Horse, but I believe they're now sourced from Nomad Donuts. They usually have 1-2 rotating flavors each day, and since the main difference is the glaze on top, you really can't go wrong with any flavor you get. The texture is closer to a cake donut. Super tasty and not too sweet. Almond Cake: 5/5 Delicious and decadent. Very light, sweet, and crumbly. This isn't something I'd get regularly since it's just a bit too sweet for me without feeling like dessert, but it's undeniably tasty. To summarize, this is a consistently solid location with great service, excellent drinks, and small bites that pair perfectly with your favorite cup of joe. This is my go-to neighborhood coffee stop.

Sadly the ice cream shop was closed when I came back around 2pm. I found that to be odd, or perhaps it was open~ it was dark and doors were closed. But anyways, thankfully, Dark Horse Coffee Roasters was still open till I believe 3:30pm! (I went on a Sunday). They have indoor seating and a big space outdoor for seating. We found parking on the street, no paying needed. They also have a bathroom, which is nice, but most people don't ask for the key (since it's essentially open, only locked when in use). The door is frosted and you can see the outline of someone as they stand near it. I think it could be a little more frosty! There were a lot of workers the day I went and they were nice. The prices were good for specialty lattes and the guy informed us that both sizes use the same amount of shots (2), the only difference is quantity of milk! I got a classic, $6, 12 oz Iced Salted Maple (S'Maple) Latte. It was good, but I wouldn't mind if the salted maple was more flavorful. It's quite subtle! The outdoor space is really great for meet ups with large groups of family/friends/work. I think this location is really lovely and would recommend people to come check it out!
