Morning Dew just became my new favorite spot for matcha! I ordered the Money Trees and absolutely loved it--the salted coconut cream on top was the perfect balance of rich and salty, and it paired so well with the banana profile running through the drink. Super refreshing, unique, and not overly sweet. Definitely a must-try if you're into creative matcha drinks. I'll be back to explore more of their menu!

Morning Dew is a matcha cafe project by day that turns into a well-known bar at Jaguar Paw. They are located right in the heart of the Barrio Logan area. They do not have a parking lot here, but there is a lot of street parking all around the area. Inside, they have a nice and modern setup with about 5-6 tables for seating. For their menu, they have a unique concoction of different latte and matcha drinks to choose from. I ended up getting the Ordinary Pleasure which comes with pandan sticky rice, mango, ceremonial matcha, and coconut cold foam. Overall, I really liked the laid back vibes of the spot. All of the staff here are friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend checking them out if you are ever in the area.

As much as I'd like to keep this place a secret it would be doing them a disservice. This is absolutely without a doubt in my mind my favorite matcha spot in San Diego even possibly all of SoCal and at that maybe even all of California. I've been all over the place, tried many different spots but the consistency in flavor, and service is unmatched here. I can proudly say I've tried everything on the menu and loved just about everything except for warm bevs (not their fault I just don't like warm bevs lol). They have cool theming inside however make sure you check their hours because they share the space with a bar in the afternoon/evening. I make many matcha's at home but their quality is so good, that I go to them rather than drink my own sometimes because I simply love it.

Strawberry swing matcha. Whisked to perfection! A wonderful cafe in San Deigo. The drinks automatically come with oatmilk which is my preferred choice anyway, the service was quick and friendly and the matcha was delicious, not too sweet from the strawberry either. Will be back

I love this place! The concept is p cool it's normally a bar called Jaguar Paw in the evening but during the day it's a cafe called Morning Dew! So if you're looking for Morning Dew look for the Jaguar Paw sign since they're the same place! Their menu has some unique options the "ordinary pleasure" is their take on a mango sticky rice matcha w a salted coconut foam. Their "money trees" is actually the first pandan, coconut, banana matcha I've ever had or seen offered at a cafe! It also comes w the salted coconut foam. The ordinary pleasure was a nice natural tasting mango it didn't taste artificial at all and I was surprised at how strong the mango flavor was even though there wasn't a huge amount of mango puree at the bottom! The money trees definitely leaned more on the pandan side with a strong pandan flavor with some slight hints of coconut and banana! The ordinary pleasure always definitely more sweet than the money trees as well but both were good and I would get them again! I'm also curious to try their coffee especially their Jasmine latte or guayaba latte since I haven't seen those commonly offered at cafes! They were pretty busy when we went on a Sunday but they were also hosting a pop up with a Korean cream puff business "Mon Chourie" so that probably contributed to how busy they were! We still got our drinks pretty fast though despite how busy they were and it did calm down by the time we left. I saw on their Instagram that they do little pop ups w businesses periodically and would definitely be interested to come back for those since Mon Chourie was SO GOOD, they literally filled the cream puffs in front of you after you ordered them and I'm still thinking about their choux au craquelin. Going when they had Mon Chourie there w their delicious pastries definitely added to my first experience with trying Morning Dew and I would want to come back again to try more drinks from them!

Morning Dew Libations Coffee in Barrio Logan was such a lovely stop. Their seasonal Noche Buena drink was outstanding. The aroma of the nutmeg, the clove syrup, and the mix of spices came together beautifully with the espresso. The shop was decorated for the holidays, which added to the cozy vibe, and the staff was friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. I highly recommend checking it out.

    Jasmine Latte and Money Trees

I ordered the Jasmine Latte and it ended up being one of my favorite lattes in San Diego! They use jasmine blossom infused honey and it ended up tasting like a mix between coffee and jasmine milk tea, while being the perfect balance of sweetness and strength. Super delicious and almost refreshing! My boyfriend ordered the Money Trees, which was also delicious. The matcha was pretty decent quality. The banana and pandan flavors were both pretty subtle but in a good way and the salted coconut foam was delicious! Highly recommend this place.

I saw an IG reel about Morning Dew and made time on a weekend to go, as it's a bit out of the way for me. The road to Money Trees was somewhat chaotic for me, but I am glad I got to try this unique drink. Ultimately, I would rate this a 3.5ish for me, but I do tend to round up for small businesses. My tip for anyone reading this review is that the hours are not exact on any site I checked. Since Morning Dew is run by one person, I definitely understand that it's more difficult to start precisely on time. I would advise either clearer communication of daily hours on their IG, or to simply come by later to give them some cushion for set-up. I ended up waiting an hour from the listed opening time for the owner to finish setting up. Thankfully, there were plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, and I took a nice stroll, popping in and out of shops in the area. Morning Dew is located in Jaguar Paw, which is a bar at night. The space is super cute and the menu has many unique drinks that tempted me, but I ended up going with Money Trees, which has pandan and banana. I have never had a banana-flavored drink before but I saw a lot of hype around these types of drinks, so I wanted to give them a try myself. It was pretty pricy but as a sweet-treat advocate, I wanted to try something new. Upon first sip, I was hit with strong pandan and banana flavors. There was a slightly astringent aftertaste from the banana, so I do feel like the flavor is from real fruit and not artificial syrup. Unfortunately, it was not my favorite drink as I think I prefer more matcha-forward options. It was also a bit thinner than I prefer, so it felt like a banana juice. While I am intrigued by some of the other drinks on offer, I do not think Morning Dew will become part of my regular rotation. Between the prices, location, and hours, this is definitely a special occasion, friends-in-town type of spot for me.

i wish i lived closer!!! on a whim decided to try their sticky rice matcha and was not disappointed. parking was fairly easy i found parking right in front and the inside of the cafe is spacious and decorated very hip.

My friend recommended their Money Tree matcha latte. It did not disappoint! There's pandan and banana in it and I actually liked it! It's not too bitter or too sweet. They use oat milk which is great for those who are lactose intolerant (like my husband lol). It is a bit pricey though $8 but comparable (unfortunately) to other matcha/coffee places

Sorry I have to update and give This place a low score now although the drinks are amazing. The hours are frustratingly never consistent. Don't come to this place without calling to see if they're opened. They're frequently closed and the hours are never correct. They open and close according to their whims. Repeat: CALL and see if they're open and save yourself the hassle

A hidden gem that everyone should try. I think ordinary pleasures is the best thing on the menu, but this is not to downplay the other things on the menu. The decor is dope - definitely a vibe !! I would come back again and recommend to others. Service is great - just gotta be patient.

Morning Dew at Jaguar Paw is such a vibe! The whole place is super cute and gives off a fun, cozy energy. Their matcha flavors are really creative -- I had Ordinary Pleasure, and it totally reminded me of mango sticky rice (in the best way possible). Pro tip: give it a good mix before sipping. Absolutely delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more!

Wait outside on the sidewalk (no exterior seating) and someone will come to take you inside. Do not ring the door bell. The theme is to take it slow. Each customer typically waits 20-30 minutes to enter as part of how they do things, even if there is open seating inside. Not sure if they use a timer to space entries but it seems consistent. They take one group in at a time. Interior: A few tables around the wall and then bar seating. Would not recommend for parties greater than 2, there just isn't the space. They welcome service animals, babies/children and strollers from what I observed. The music was very, very loud. It was difficult to hold a conversation. I did not see a bathroom. Ordering process: After seating you wait for a little bit for them to bring small water cups and a QR menu with a table number and a set of rules. They do not have a physical menu, you must use your phone to order. Cell phone reception was dicey and took a long time to load. They have an interesting concept where you have a digital 'tab' open on their toast website. Unfortunately you must provide your full name, email and phone number. They have pour over drinks (note these can take 15-20 minutes), matcha, Hojicha and others. You may only order one drink per person at a time. They have a small snack menu with rotating foods. They use oat milk only. No substitutions allowed. After mobile ordering, drinks take 20-30 minutes as part of their take it slow vibe. Matcha $8 is from Paru tea and was very good. Hojicha $8 was too milky and didn't have a strong enough flavor. When you are done you walk to the register by the door and wait to be checked out. If they are making a drink you wait until they are finished. I wasn't really a fan. Staff were brusque. Music was too loud to converse.

Food: 5/5 Drinks: 4/5…read moreService: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 I love the Dark Horse brand across the board, but the Golden Hill location has consistently been my favorite. The baristas are kind and efficient, and they remember my dogs which of course wins me over instantly. The location itself is super convenient: easily walkable, a fair amount of street parking, and easy access right off the highway. I also really appreciate that they have lots of outdoor seating and offer pup cups, so I feel comfortable stopping by with my dogs. I also love that they have a rewards program via Cash App/phone number/the credit card you use. It's especially convenient that this is all tracked digitally and automatically when you swipe your credit card. For drinks, I've ordered: The Champ (iced): 4/5 A very popular choice. I do enjoy this coffee and the honey flavor is lovely, but the cinnamon can be a bit strong for me. They use powdered cinnamon over the top, which from a texture standpoint isn't my favorite. I do find the cinnamon is less overpowering when this drink is ordered hot instead of iced. Salted Maple Latte (iced): 5/5 This is my go-to. Delicious, strong coffee without being bitter and very well balanced overall. The maple flavor doesn't jump out in an obvious way, but adds a subtle sweetness that isn't overly sweet or sharp. Interestingly, I think the 16oz is better balanced than the 12oz in terms of coffee/milk/maple ratios. Pumpkin Spiced Latte (hot): 3/5 I'm not the biggest pumpkin spice latte fan, so I wasn't expecting to love this. It does have a clear pumpkin spice flavor, but the texture coats the mouth a bit more than I prefer (likely from the pumpkin), which is part of why this isn't my favorite. For food, I've ordered: Vegan Donuts: 5/5 I thought these used to be made by a sister company of Dark Horse, but I believe they're now sourced from Nomad Donuts. They usually have 1-2 rotating flavors each day, and since the main difference is the glaze on top, you really can't go wrong with any flavor you get. The texture is closer to a cake donut. Super tasty and not too sweet. Almond Cake: 5/5 Delicious and decadent. Very light, sweet, and crumbly. This isn't something I'd get regularly since it's just a bit too sweet for me without feeling like dessert, but it's undeniably tasty. To summarize, this is a consistently solid location with great service, excellent drinks, and small bites that pair perfectly with your favorite cup of joe. This is my go-to neighborhood coffee stop.

Sadly the ice cream shop was closed when I came back around 2pm. I found that to be odd, or perhaps it was open~ it was dark and doors were closed. But anyways, thankfully, Dark Horse Coffee Roasters was still open till I believe 3:30pm! (I went on a Sunday). They have indoor seating and a big space outdoor for seating. We found parking on the street, no paying needed. They also have a bathroom, which is nice, but most people don't ask for the key (since it's essentially open, only locked when in use). The door is frosted and you can see the outline of someone as they stand near it. I think it could be a little more frosty! There were a lot of workers the day I went and they were nice. The prices were good for specialty lattes and the guy informed us that both sizes use the same amount of shots (2), the only difference is quantity of milk! I got a classic, $6, 12 oz Iced Salted Maple (S'Maple) Latte. It was good, but I wouldn't mind if the salted maple was more flavorful. It's quite subtle! The outdoor space is really great for meet ups with large groups of family/friends/work. I think this location is really lovely and would recommend people to come check it out!
