    Cortado & Mexican Mocha
    Tony B.

This is a great coffee shop / roaster in the Barrio Logan neighborhood of San Diego. They make great coffee, we had a Cortado & Mexican Mocha. Both were great, nice and creamy with great flavor. In addition to indoor and outside seating Cafe Moto also features a drive-thru that was pretty busy when we were there. The staff is friendly and keeps the place clean and neat. There are a few parking spots in the lot and street parking can be hard to find.

Cute little stand. car themed, definitely more of a "to-go" stand than a sit down shop since there is little seating available. The workers are friendly, quick to take orders. There was a small wait to get our vanilla latte, but nothing outrageous. The coffee is very good! the lattes are on the sweeter side, if you don't like sweet coffee. It was like $10.50 for an iced latte and a dark roast drip.

Pretty cool Coffee Place. It has an outdoor ordering place plus a drive thru area. There are some tables outdoors to enjoy your coffee. Pretty fringe style decor, industrial streetlike. Parking is only street parking so in busy mornings it must be a bit of a challenge. Interesting coffee options including a Cubano Cortado which I have not seen in any other place. We ordered a Latte and a Cubano Cortado. Great coffee quality. Service was super fast and cordial.

If you're a coffee snob or connoisseur looking for high‑quality beans, this spot is worth checking out. My coffee‑loving friends rave about it, so I finally stopped by -- and it's such a cool setup. There's an indoor café area, a drive‑thru line, and a walk‑up counter, which makes it super convenient no matter what you're in the mood for. They offer a great selection of pastries and the service is consistently excellent. Every time I've visited, they've been pretty busy, so street parking can be a little tricky depending on the time of day. Overall, it's a great spot for anyone who truly appreciates good coffee. The vibe, the quality, and the variety make it a standout in the area.

Drive thru order must! I was in the area and always the best choice for coffee! Service is fast so even better.

Always fast and delicious drive up service

Slipping around the corners of your thoughts? Caffeine gauge moving closer towards empty? Want a little turbo boost? I was three for three of the aforementioned yesterday when I pulled in for the pit stop at this mechanic themed coffee shop. I was in P6, but fortunately cafe Moto must be taking notes from Formula 1 because the entire corral was cleared in minutes ready to hot lap the day. Foot powered coffee drinkers rest easy: there is a walk up section and outdoor seating insulated from the vehicular traffic. The Cubano was excellent and the cold brew is always strong and tasty!

First of all I love the branding - an old service shop turned coffee. The coffee is delicious and I'm working my way through the menu. They have pastries including vegan to enjoy with your coffee.

Best coffee say the locals...I think I can agree with that. Busy with walk up window and drive through, yet the system seems to be on point. Ordered a lavender vanilla latte with almond milk. Loved it! What i loved even more though was the Chai Latte. Wow, was that a perfect blend. I only took a few sips from my husband's, but it was delicious. I get it! Hype is real with this one

    V12 Nitro & V12 Dark Side (limited)

    I have had this coffee shop on my list to visit, but what finally made me come was that they had a special drink called V12 Dark Side. They released this drink for about a week since the new Mandalorian & Grogu movie came out. I have been craving the Cold Brew from Star Wars Land in Disneyland. It did not taste like that one, mainly because it is originally made with Cream Cheese Foam, while this was Sweet Cream Foam. Do not let that sentence fool you though, this was the best cold brew I have ever had. It had none of that burnt flavor that I taste in Starbucks. It was incredibly smooth. Aside from that, the flavor of the coffee was delicious. My cream mixed into the cold brew perfectly. I have always had issues with cream tops because they do not mix well and taste airy almost. This was perfect, the cream was thick and basically turned into a creamer for the cold brew. I loved it. It added some sweetness while still being strong. My boyfriend got the V12 Nitro and again the flavor was so good. I have no notes. I would 100% come back for their drinks. It was my first time here so I was confused on where to order. I walked inside the building and almost immediately an employee let me know where I was able to order. I appreciated that they told me. Once I went outside to order, the employee seemed a bit rushed on taking our order. Which makes complete sense because they have a drive thru as well as the line on foot. Nonetheless, he was kind and actually the same employee who told us where to order. The place seemed very electronic or rustic even. I didn't get that auto body motor shop vibes. At least from the outside. It had steel all around with a black building. I wasn't scanning the inside seating for the decoration, but I did think it was beautiful. I was looking all around and thought how nice and vintage it looked. I parked on the street, but I didn't have any issues. I'm not sure if they have a dedicated lot, but they also had a drive through from what I saw! {05/27/26-1:20pm}

Delicious coffee. Mostly consistent. I used to visit this place when they had blended options i miss those sm!!!. Our drinks were delivered by Ben the manager. He was so professional and resolving after a small inconvenience. He even went as far as offering a discount but his kind attention was more than enough. Thank you ben for your cool personality.

Big special thank you to Sam and the crew at Cafe Moto for helping out. Sam did an awesome job by providing a donation of coffee beans, the coffee beans that were donated will help out with sensory for kids with autism. We really appreciate Cafe Moto thank you, Sam we really appreciate everything you have done thank you very much. The coffee is very good especially the Mexican mocha..

I had seen moto coffee being served in other establishments but this was my first time trying it straight from the source! I love that they have a drive thru and the red cones they put for your order really keeps the atmosphere in theme to the car shop vibes, I tried a season white mocha with cranberry and almond milk I didn't really taste much cranberry but the drink was delicious, I love the flavor of the coffee and how it mixed well with the white mocha and didn't overpower it

    Turn here for amazing coffee!

Which beans do they use for their vanilla latte's?

The last time I asked, it was their house beans. "Espresso Moto".

Can you buy a growler of the cold brew?

They have what looks like oil jugs full!

Do you guys also sell your unroasted green beans or teach roasting classes? Love your coffee!

Yes we sell green beans, ask in the store whats in stock.

    Is there iced almond lattes?

We stock almond milk and can prepare an iced almond latte. Oatmilk has been the most popular lately.

Danica is also the DJ, and her eclectic playlist made the whole experience even better. One of my favorite parts was just sitting there watching our drinks being made. Artwork is very beautiful and fits the Barrio Logan scene perfectly. I arrived with nobody inside the business minus the workers, you had maybe 2 people outside enjoying the scenery and their drinks. Not greeted upon entering the business just gave me that stare with not asking if I had any questions. I dont recall his name but he was very skinny, curly hair or wavy and i believe he had braces, but not sure if he was having a bad day but something wasn't all there. I ordered 2 drinks, I forget the other but it had cinnamon on top. The drinks were just hand on the counter without saying which drinks is which, so i asked which one is which. Didn't hear me, so i kinda said again and he pointed them out not in a nice or rude way but the approach of how it was handled was not friendly. How can you have Mazapán without the Mazapán crumbles which are very iconic to the drink. I just found it super strange and did not care for it. The cinnamon based drink was good tho, which I'll give them that. Experience could have been better.

The same seating arrangement of the bar countertop and tables across from it was available if you wanted to hang out and chill. A sign behind the bar described the ceremonial grade matcha that was used with the region of origin and the flavors imparted to the powder. Five different matcha drinks were offered along with hot and cold coffees and lattes. The top three matcha choices were priced at $8 each. I chose the Ordinary Pleasure which was the first one. Pandan sticky rice milk and mango puree were added to the matcha and topped with a salted coconut foam. I wasn't a fan of the foam, but the matcha flavor was intense and contrasted by the fruity puree on the bottom of the cup. The baristas were very focused with measuring the exact amounts for each ingredient in the drinks they were preparing. The matcha quality seemed to be very good based on what I tasted so maybe it's why the price was $1 higher than what I have tried elsewhere.

By the time I reached the front, the owner (I'm assuming) a woman with glasses and long black hair spoke to me in a passive-aggressive tone and told me the line was actually on the other side. Given the setup, it wasn't obvious at all. There's a fence directly in front of the shop, and with the large crowds that day, it was even more chaotic. I tried to be understanding and moved to the correct spot, but while I was waiting for my drink, she repeated the same interaction with several other customers in the same tone. People were clearly confused, walking around the fence trying to figure things out, and without any guidance, I saw multiple customers leave frustrated. Customer service, especially from the owner, was disappointing and could definitely be improved particularly during busy events when clear communication matters most. That said, I'll give credit where it's due: the drinks were great. I'd rate my banana coffee a solid 4.5/5, it was delicious, and the heart-shaped straw was a really cute touch. The place is located on one of the main strips in the community, Logan Ave, near Salud. This is the only local street in which I have seen vehicles parallel park in the median of the road without any concern from law enforcement. It is certainly an unorthodox solution to help with the parking situation as the legal curbside spaces fill up quickly. There was an outdoor kitchen setup behind the house including a wood-fired pizza oven, smoker, Santa Maria grill, and fire pit. All of the seating was al fresco either at tables in the front patio or at picnic tables in the backyard and deck. You walk up the steps and through the front door to place your order at the service counter in the main room. Some prepared foods and drinks were available as grab and go items. Pizzas and paella will be the main focus of their menu. For the soft opening, four pizzas, a vegan paella, and skirt steak tacos were the choices. I chose the last item for my meal. Arracherra skirt steak, grilled onions, and chiles were accompanied by flour tortillas and guacasalsa. The components were placed on a rectangular cutting board as a serving vessel. The steak was cooked medium rare and then sliced into pieces that could fit inside a tortilla. The two grilled chiles had a nice smoky flavor to them. The avocado based salsa added a creaminess to the meat and vegetables. For the food quality and relaxed outdoor setting, I gave a four star rating for my initial experience at Cafe Califas.
