Stumbled upon this sandwich spot and was pleasantly surprised with how refreshing the meal was. We came post beach and the hunger was real. The portions of the sandwiches were insanely huge. My pastrami was bigger than my hand, juicy and tender.. had to take it back home to finish. The kids were satisfied with their turkey sammie and definitely loved how spacious it was inside to really enjoy our meal. Our server was friendly, and our food came out pretty quickly, it wasn't busy either. They have really cool wall art that was entertaining to look at while you ate. Overall a true little gem, the kind of experience that leaves you thinking.. why did i wait this long to eat here? Looking forward to going back! read more

We ordered a few items from the catering menu for our Passover dinner and everything we tasted was delicious! I had to come by and give them a big 5 star review because my guests could not stop raving about the food. Frank also made ordering and pick up super easy. Everyone at the deli was so friendly and it has just been a wonderful experience. I told my family that we'll be eating Kosher Bite deli at all our gatherings going forward and I mean it. Highly recommend! Must try: matzah ball soup, potato salad, and beef brisket! read more

Perfect spot for a corned beef or pastrami sandwich! They have all the classic Jewish deli items as well. Prices are very fair compared to similar places. Ordered at the counter and the food came out pretty quickly. Seating is pretty limited and not much ambiance, but you're here for the food. read more

4.0 stars for the food and price 2.9 stars for the facility 3.8 stars for basic counter service. Overall recommend. Very Small, strip mall type, old style kosher deli near the now (August 2026) shutdown DMV office in Laguna Woods on Moulton Parkway between Lake Forest Dr and El Toro Rd Same complex as Savers, Polly's Pies and the VA Clinic. B of A bank shares same complex. It is old and has extremely limited, almost rustic seating but there is a lot of nearly parking since the DMV no longer operates there. BF had a hot corned beef sandwich on rye. They also offer it on a French roll. No Kaiser rolls here, but Benjie's in Santa Ana has the same issue. Decent quality and decent serving sizes. Came with a dill pickle spear and choice of sides. BF chose macaroni salad. Macaroni salad was unusual. Distinct taste of vinegar, almost like German Potato Salad. Nice change. We also got a canned soda. Affordable at $17.77 tax included No real ambience there, but the patrons are mostly retired folks and no ambience is really needed if you just want a decent sandwich. If you want better ambience and a more extensive menu, you will likely have to travel to Santa Ana and go to Benjie's. That is a long way's away. read more

Laguna Hills, Ca. Upon entering I saw that the line to order was 6 customers. I just left but soon found the other two eateries in this shopping center had much longer waits so I came back after about 15 minutes and the line had not moved at all. I decided to be patient and stood in line. Eventually the line moved at a decent pace even if on the slow side. The two gentlemen doing all the prep and waiting on customers were very fastidious and professional. I ordered corned beef on rye which came to my table hot. It was an impressive one inch thick stack of corned beef. The only downsides to this sandwich was the physical size of the rye bread which was very small so the thick stack of corned beef rapidly tapered off to a minimum. The other downside was that the corned beef was much more chewy than what I like. It was thinly sliced to try to account for this imperfection but failed. Unless you have very sharp incisors, when you bite in, a large amount of meat comes dragging out. I really don't care for that, never have, never will. I was expecting the beef to have a bit more brine to the taste as well as a bit more cooked, but it was decent and I did indeed eat it all. The rye bread, while tiny was excellent with great flavor. I think overall it is not an $18 sandwich. The fries are awesome and you get a lot of them. They use large potatoes when cutting so some of the fries are 8 inches long. Not at all greasy or oily, very nice. Upon returning on another day, the wait time was well over 30 minutes. You will have to decide if the food is worth it. Today I tried the Rueben. It was very good. The corned beef today was tender and moist. The sour kraut was excellent, tasted home made but could have been out of a jar, I don't know. The rye bread is the same tiny size as used on the corned beef Sammy, making for an expensive sandwich. The amount of meat makes up for it a bit, for lunch it is a good portion. No fries today, the "Machine" is broken. The bag of chips was ok but not a perfect substitute. The gelato bar was totally meh. Almost no flavor at all. I'm not too keen on trying a different flavor. Upon opening the wrapper I found the bar covered in freezer ice, like it had been in there for a long time. Yuck. On a third visit I found the brisket on rye to be excellent. Very good flavor and plenty of meat. I tried another gelato bar and found the variety with chocolate had good flavor and not tasteless as the dolce leche was. However, this bar also had freezer frost. On yet another visit I had the pastrami. It was a generous heap of pastrami on the same small rye. I'm getting accustomed to that now. The pastrami was just a bit too fatty for my liking but it was delicious and surprisingly tender. Today's gelato bar will be my last one, I now know they all probably have freezer burn. The texture is altered also, the bars have been thawed and refrozen. Avoid. read more

Was craving a pastrami sandwich so I looked for a place on Yelp and saw that Kosher Bite was nearby. Ordered a pastrami sandwich on a french roll with side of French fries. Costed about $15 total. It came out not too long after ordering and it looked delicious. Was a bit disappointed with the portion size but it is what it is. However, the sandwich did not disappoint - one of the better pastrami sandwiches in the OC. Will definitely come back in the future when I'm in the area and I need to satisfy my craving for a good pastrami sandwich. read more

My brother and sister in law as visiting from out of state for the holidays and felt like a good Depot pastrami sandwich. After searching Yelp we came across Kosher Bite and thought we would give it a try. We ordered the pastrami on rye, the KB special and the tuna salad. The sandwiches were very good and the pastrami ?!?!? We will definitely be back for more. The potato salad and macaroni salad were good as well. I only wish they gave you a little more of the sides. The ambience is like your traditional Jewish deli. I was hoping for more pastries and desserts but today the display was fairly limited. read more

Kosher Bite - A warmed up knish & 2 kashas ... - Delis Near Me - Laguna Hills, California

Food is good, workers are very nice and I like the atmosphere I've come here a couple times for lunch and for work only thing I'd say they slack a little in is organization seems to be very hectic when they get busy so orders gets mixed up, it happens but this is the third time I ask for no tomatoes and I was given tomatoes, I'm also pretty sure they looked at the ticket and since it was already assembled just left it in:( I'm really sad cause I hate tomatoes and it upsets my stomach, I also wish they toasted the bread or at least I don't know if they do but overall the place is a nice spot for deli and the staff is very friendly read more

Not for me. I ordered a brisket sandwich on rye, and the counter guy pulled a heal of brisket out of the refrigerator and made my sandwich. It was not fresh, and dry as hell. The coleslaw and pickle were OK, but I don't think this place does the volume for enough turnover. 3 stars, ONLY because if you are looking for a kosher spot, it might be for you. I'll go to Benjie's in Tustin instead. read more

I lived in this area for many many years and didn't know that this place was here. Yesterday I needed to find a good rye bread and found out online about this place. When I got there, they were just closing so I did not order any sandwiches, however, I did take a loaf of rye bread home. It was so good. I came back today and ordered a corned beef sandwich and had a bowl of matzoh ball soup. Both were excellent as well! read more

I was glad I tried, but I won't be coming back. My group of three had tongue, brisket, and tuna with a matzo ball soup each. The sandwiches were good. Tasty meat and generous portions. The potato salad had a definite freezer-burn or deli case musty taste to it. My soup was fine, but one of my friends said their matzo ball was cold in the middle. The clincher was that the staff seemed annoyed to have customers at all. We walked in just around 11:30am to a nearly empty restaurant and an exasperated team behind the counter. Maybe it's their shtick, but they were not busy enough for the "irritated and rushed" routine. read more

Excellent sandwich's piled high with lean, delicious meat. Very fair prices, with several menu choices. Yes, it is a very small deli with limited seating but the staff here works hard to keep the line moving. Best of all, they do it with a smile and a "Thank you". read more

Fabulous pastrami sandwich! It was warm, moist, succulent, and just enough fat to make it perfect. If you want, you can get leaner pastrami for a slight up charge. We're good as is, thanks! It is obvious their roots are in New York. Everything on the walls is a love letter to New York. Whether it is a Dodgers Yankees 1956 World Series program, sunlight photo of lower Manhattan with the Twin Towers, and many other mementos; Plus the luscious rye bread, U bet chocolate syrup (to make the perfect egg cream), Dr. Brown's sodas, pastries, various staples. You can get it all here. Kosher Bite is also mindful of their gluten- free customers, offering matzos and various types of crackers. Gluten and gluten-free folks can have it all. The sandwiches come with a big juicy, garlicky pickle spear and your choice of a side. The coke slaw was crunchy, cool and refreshing. The macaroni salad was ok. The sandwiches are big enough for a normal appetite. Small appetites can split one. It is not the sky high pile of meat you can find in New York delis but who wants that? I would rather pay less for a sandwich I might be able to finish than an expensive monster sandwich enough to feed four. Apparently, the matzoh ball soup is yumminess in a bowl but it is waaaay too hot to consider soup. Another time. We will be back! read more

Kosher Bite Deli has been my go-to spot for Jewish-style comfort food for years--and with good reason. Their corned beef on rye is hands-down one of the best I've ever had--perfectly seasoned, generously portioned, and always fresh. It's the kind of sandwich that transports you straight to a classic New York deli. A huge part of that consistency is thanks to Chef Hugo, who's been the heartbeat of the kitchen since day one. Everything from the soups to the pastries is made in-house and crafted with care. While not officially certified kosher, the deli strictly follows kosher preparation practices, and it shows in the quality and flavor of each dish. Menu favorites include all the classics: pastrami, brisket, roast beef, tuna, chopped liver, and a rotating selection of deeply flavorful soups. (Pro tip: don't miss the Cabbage Soup--it's my personal favorite.) They also serve top-tier smoked fish from Acme, including wild-caught herring in cream sauce, a rare find around here and a real treat for fans. In short: if you're craving authentic deli fare made with love and tradition, Kosher Bite Deli delivers every time. A true Orange County institution. read more

We wanted a traditional pastrami sandwich typically served in a Jewish deli and we had no idea that just down the street was Kosher Bite Deli and it is the real deal. Not to stereotype but based on the customers who came in and ordered, we knew we had found a good spot. The food was great too. True cooked pastrami like in the delis of NY and not the gross lunch meat kind of pastrami. There is not much to the inside but it was fine as we were there for the food and not the ambiance. read more

Kosher Bite is a Jewish-deli offering Jewish-inspired delicacies such as pastries, bagels, and, of course, its hot and cold subs. My personal favorite is their corned beef on rye. All ingredients are made in house and the taste is out of this world. Kosher Bite is located in the heart of Laguna Woods that was founded back in the early 90s that has stood the test of time staying true to their original vision of an NY-inspired Jewish deli. Once you go there, you'll feel like family. Outstanding service from the staff with a homey feel when you dine inside. read more

I love a great pastrami sandwich but they are increasingly difficult to find. The last time I had one at Sherman's in Palm Springs it was disappointing, same with Zabar's in New York. However, I had an amazing pastrami sandwich here with a side of potato salad. For a little extra I got the lean pastrami, which was incredibly flavorful and made me feel a little less guilty. Kosher Bite's pastrami sandwich really is the best I've had in South Orange County. If you love pastrami sandwiches it's worth a drive to have the one here. It's a really good size too. And the potato salad is great as well. As an added bonus, the staff and owner of this restaurant are amazingly friendly and welcoming. Very warm people, which is so nice to experience. I also noticed that they have great baked goods which I'll try on a future visit. The ambiance of the restaurant is that of a friendly, buzzy neighborhood deli. I'm still thinking about their pastrami sandwich a day later. It's that good. I'll be back! read more

Hit and miss. Loved the matzah ball soup! The pastrami was tasty but too thick & fatty for my taste but afterward I noticed they offer a leaner cut for a little more money - maybe next time. The chopped liver was just okay (I liked my Nanny's better), but their fries were perfect! The Potato Knish was just okay, tasted like it was in refrigerator case too long. The one good thing about the DMV in the plaza is that there is this place to come and grab a real hot dog and gelato bars! The shop reminds me of the deli that my Bomama used to take me to in San Francisco when I was a kid. The shop is much smaller but they have some great stuff. A hot dog will run you about $5 bucks but it is quality and loaded with the works. Basically, you can get a hot dog and the gelato bar for under $8 bucks and that is like a whole meal. Try paying $8 bucks anywhere else for lunch. And.... the hot dog is delicious! Do not forget to try the gelato bar. The shop itself is small. It is clean and open and sprinkled with New York Charm throughout. They have a lot of food options here including the more traditional dishes. Parking is easy. This side of the plaza is reserved for customers and No DMV parking is allowed. Customer Service- They greet you and get the job done. They know what they are doing and get you what you want. They also make great suggestions for food. Overall, I am a fan! read more

Okay, I'm going crazy because up to about two years ago, I thought I'd never been here, but then I wrote a review back in 2008. I'm losing my mind! We've been back many times now in the last two years and I'm in love with their knishes. I've had knishes at several OC places and this is hands down my favorite! I can't decide which I like better, the potato or kasha, both are so damn good! We also love the pastrami sandwich! It's close to the ones I've enjoyed in NYC, so when we are craving, we do come here. I'm still mind boggled at how I don't remember going in 2008. read more
