It was a bit noisy for us but in waves - good waves because they're busy and it friendly strangely neighborhoody for a non neighborhood spot! I had the pulled steak pita with caramelized onions and mom had falafel. Sandwiches are a nice size with a good mix on the side. The only challenge is they are keeping up with market rates so lunch sandwiches came in at close to $50. And service is a little aloof. Having said all that how can you not try it at least once. Wow! For an unassuming little spot in a strip mall, I was so surprised by the fantastic quality and flavor or the food here! They have indoor and outdoor seating. The place was crowded at lunch time on a Thursday. The staff were friendly and helpful with explaining specials and menu items. Food came out quickly and was presented nicely. You order at the counter and they bring your meal out to you. They have a selection of cans bottled drinks, but no fountain drinks. I ordered the Arais appetizer and the schwarma salad. Both were excellent! I expected the salad to be a bit bigger, but the meat portion on it was large. The salad was super fresh and everything was tossed in a refreshing olive oil and lemon juice. I loved the Arais and hadn't had anything like it before. It was loaded with flavorful ground beef in a pita pocket. Didn't like this at all. Flavorless stingy portions and staff that don't treat you nicely unless you're wearing a certain hat. They gave lots of smiles and attention to those wearing religious hats and treated everyone else like second class citizens. What I like is that you get to build your own meal, picking your main and then choosing from their big salad bar with all kinds of fresh and cooked salads. The staff put your dish together right in front of you, which makes it fun and easy even if it's your first time! The Kifta Kabab was really good, and the Pulled Beef Asado is another one worth trying. There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options too, so it works for just about everyone. The most misogynistic place i've ever been. They treated me poorly, one of the guys passed really closed to me and touched my boobs. The men at the restaurant were giving me super weird looks. Is so unfortunate bc the food was okay, and i would've come back but I genuinely don't feel safe there. I am scared to go back. The server guy gave me bad attitude even tho I was buying one of their plates that was almost $30 which nothing wrong with that but his attitude was mean. Is like they did not want to sell food to me and I'm not sure why other than the fact that i was a female and I was wearing my coveralls from work. It's sort of like build a pita, it can be a little overwhelming at first when you first get there since, everyone seems to know what to order, but once you got the hang of it, you too will be a pita artist. We had it as a plate, as well as a second plate with chicken thighs. The thighs were not as exciting as the rest of the very flavorful food we tried. We also had chicken livers on a baguette. It tasted good and the bread was delicious, but perhaps overwhelmed the livers. Next time will try them as a plate. The sides were wide ranging. Examples included humus, two cabbage salads, tomato salad, cucumber salad, eggplant, olives, hot peppers, to name a few. When I tell you, this was the best beef kebab plate I have ever had, I am not exaggerating. I walked by this place every day during my lunch break and I'm not sure what took me so long to just order some food but today I finally bit the bullet. And now I'm just filled with regret that I haven't been coming here sooner. The prices are higher than what you typically want to spend for lunch, but when I tell you, it is so worth it I mean it. The amount of food that comes in the plate is definitely enough for two meals or to share with another person. The beef kebab was so flavorful and juicy, the pita was probably the softest pita I've ever had, the mixed salads were so flavorful and complimented the dish so well. I've definitely found my new favorite spot. I took it to go so everything was packaged separately, and I appreciated that because if I didn't plan to eat it right away, everything wouldn't just melt together. From what I understand this is one of the only kosher restaurants in town. The food is very high quality and even though it is a little pricier than places with similar cuisine it is worth the coin. I've been twice and was equally pleased both times. So far my favorite thing has been the Shwarma Plate. My friend in I shared it and we had more than enough to eat. Enjoyed it here very much. We had lunch today (out of town visitors who wanted kosher food) at their dairy restaurant and ate here for dinner. Prices are reasonable especially if you choose the pita option instead of the plate option. I got a falafel pita which I could fill with whatever salatim (salads) I wanted. I got humus, tahina, green cabbage salad, purple cabbage salad, fried eggplant (the cool guy working the line gave me extra on the side - thank you!), Israeli salad, and tomatoes, on top of the falafel. It was very good, similar to the falafel at Harissa in the La Jolla area (but with more salad choices!). My friend was really looking forward to getting shawarma, but they ran out right in front of her. She got the asada and was wishing she could have gotten the shawarma. My other friend decided to take a chance and get the merguez (spicy beef sausage) even though he doesn't usually like spicy. He enjoyed it but would also get shawarma next time. The patio doesn't have heaters like at their other restaurant Boker Kitchen. But here there is more seating indoors. The food is tasty here and you will not leave hungry. The staff wasn't welcoming at all--the guy and girl at the counter gave me a strange look when I walked in, which honestly should've been my cue to leave. I decided to give it a chance and ordered a shawarma, but the food was extremely bland. It wasn't wrapped properly, so it became completely soggy, and I lost my appetite after the first bite. I ordered chicken thighs, and mine had skin on it, which I wasn't expecting, and it had very little flavor overall. I mentioned to the server that it was my first time there, but he didn't show any interest or offer any help with ordering. On top of that, the prices are quite high compared to other similar places that serve much better food. I paid $24 for a shawarma (before tip), which definitely didn't feel worth it.
