I ordered the Wagyu Beef and Chicken Shawarma plate $20, which came with basmati rice, hummus, tabouli, and some pita bread. The meat was tender and the tabouli added a balance of freshness that complimented the richness of the meat and hummus. I recommend adding a side of their garlic sauce for $1 extra to dip your pita bread into. Their Wagyu beef shawarma egg rolls and chicken shawarma egg rolls are a good appetizer as well. We really enjoyed them. Tip: Kids eat free with a paid adult entree! What a nice bonus. They don't sell drinks but you can buy drinks next door at the liquor store. They make your order fresh to order so allow 5-10 minutes depending on the line.

This feast feeds a family! Look at all that protein. This family tray was perfect for a get together night in. The falafel was my favorite! Paired with the garlic sauce, chef's kiss.

Shawarma Guys is serving Mediterranean food from their food truck on grape Street that also has a no frills high-top table and tent to enjoy the food there. SERVICE Order ahead online or in person. Staff calls out names. FOOD 5/5 Wagyu Beef Shawarma Egg Rolls (2pcs) So flavorful and freshly made - do not skip the garlic sauce! Other ingredients include secret sauce, caramelized onions, jalapeños, and white American cheese wrapped in a crispy wonton blanket.

The original Shawarma Guys food truck still operates to this day. One of our friends insists this location tastes the best so I had to drop by to see if that was truly the best. Had their usual Shawarma bowl (5/5) and Wagyu Beef Shawarma Fries (6/5). I couldn't tell the difference between this location versus other Shawarma Guys stores which was good since that proved their quality control was on-point. My partner has me now hooked on Shawarma Guys. Their food was Halal and good for the soul!

Food is so good. We didn't realize there is no seating. Some pictures on Yelp must be another location because they show some tables and chairs. Not this location....we ended up eating at the bus stop.

We got the half beef and half chicken plate to try. Trust me when I say--stick with the beef. The chicken was good too, but it wasn't as tender or flavorful as the beef. I'd definitely come back again. There's so much flavor, and everything pairs really well together. I especially enjoyed the green mixture they served on the side--it had cilantro, onion, and tomato (I think?). It was citrusy and added the perfect fresh crunch to the rice and beef. We also got the falafel, but that was a miss. It was dry, hard, and lacking in flavor. We couldn't even finish it. I'd skip that one.

Mediterranean food is easily one of my top 5 cuisines. I wasn't sure what to expect from a food truck, so I've passed on this place a few times. Finally gave them a shot. The wagyu beef shawarma? Flavor bomb. Tender, juicy, melt in your mouth beef that made me experience a moment of euphoria. The hummus? Creamy, silky, so good and so smooth it felt like it was hitting on me :) Now let's not forget about the Wagyu beef shawarma egg rolls? These little bundles of fried goodness slapped harder than an Asian mom on report card day. Service is quick, portions are decent, and everything tastes freshly made. Shawarma guys will be on my repeat list. Give them a go and see for yourself. Welp! Onto the next!

I've been to the Mira Mesa location and I loved! But this food truck location... questionable, especially for the og... me and my friend got the beef and chicken plate, and the chicken plate AND WE BOTH FELT NAUSEOUS AND STOMACH ACHE IMMEDIATELY AFTER ! Really disappointed. + you can tell from the picture. I barely pushed the food around and there's ZERO rice ??? For $19 not worth for the amount or the sickness.

My favorite shawarma spot in San Diego. We always get the wagyu beef and chicken shawarma combo. Portions are large, easily making 2 meals for myself. Both meats are good, but if you're debating between the two I'd choose the beef. I'm not too much of a hummus person, only when I get this plate as it's fresh and smooth. Staff is always friendly. It can take a bit of time for your food if it's busy but it's worth the wait.

Tucked behind the Bottle House liquor store, this spot is easy to miss, but totally worth seeking out. I found it thanks to Yelp and was surprised to learn Guy Fieri had been here! I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Wrap and Lemon Cream Chicken Fries. Both were absolutely delicious. The chicken was juicy, the wrap was crisp, and the fries were seasoned perfectly with tender, katsu-style breaded chicken. I just wish there was more of that tangy lemon garlic cream sauce. Fun tip: don't skip the garlic and chili sauces. The chili sauce is tangy, slightly spicy, and refreshing. Service was fast (only a 5-minute wait), but note that parking is tight and there are only two tables so most people grab takeout. I was lucky to snag a seat and eat on the spot. I plan to come back for the wagyu shawarma wrap, lemon garlic wings, and shawarma eggrolls next time! Food: 10/10 fresh, hot, juicy, and delicious Customer Service: 7/10 it's a food truck so it's fast and efficient Parking: 5/10 street parking mainly, only two parking spots available in front of the liquor store.

I was really looking forward to trying this food spot, but my experience was that it was overly hyped. I got the chicken and beef shawarma plate for about $20 and it really didn't have a huge portion of meats. I felt the meat was a bit dry and could've used more sauce. There was a small drizzle of the garlic sauce on top of the meat. The tabouleh and rice were ok. Hummus was average, but the sides of pita were extremely dry and not even warm (although they were served in foil). My husband got the beef shawarma pita and also said it was just average. I liked the falafel, but overall I was disappointed in my dining experience. Note they do not have any seating and are located in a liquor store parking lot. They have two small bar type tables to stand at, but those were taken on a Friday evening. We waiting about 10 minutes for our food after ordering without there being a line. The menu also differed from what was on their website, so note they didn't have any bowls (on plate entrees) on the menu in person. There are other Mediterranean spots I prefer over visiting here again.

Our first time trying Shawarma Guys, we went to the new Mira Mesa location that just opened up. Unfortunately, we did not have the best experience there with the taste of food. After the owner had reached out to recomp our meal, we decided to try out the original food truck location and give it another try! * Wagyu Beef & Chicken Shawarma Plate - 8/10 (this time around, the beef shawarma was actually really good. it was flavorful & juicy. this was a pleasant surprise & was what we were expecting the beef to taste like the first time around. the chicken however, was still on the dry side. the hummus was very yummy. it was light but also packed a nice punch & went really well with the shawarma. the tabouli was very fresh & added a nice little kick. the pita was dry & cold. overall, this was better than our previous experience, but would not come back for the plate) * Wagyu Beef Shawarma Egg Rolls - 9.5/10 (this was fried to perfection with the perfect crunch on the outside. the beef was soooo juicy & packed great flavor. the white sauce was perfect to cut through the oiliness. would come back again just for these!)

Best food truck in South Park! I ordered the chicken cream chop which hit the spot after a long workday. The chicken was tender moist and topped with a delicious garlic sauce. The rice was fluffy and the hummus was creamy. Service was quick. No seating, but it was no problem since I live nearby.

The food is was great and one of my favorite spots when I'm craving middle eastern wraps- I did built your own pita so of course I like the ingredients. I loved my pita bread (it's much different from the Greek style if you haven't tried it before!) and the enjoyed the steak in particular. It had a lot of warming spices (nutmeg and cinnamon maybe?) and the flavor is pretty unique! I added bell peppers, pickled cucumbers, lettuce, tomato, red onion, tahini sauce, and garlic sauce. I also got a piece of falafel - I always gotta judge a place by their falafel and this one was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside which was perfect. Next time I need to try the halloumi cheese stix with fig jam! Place was very clean and the decor was nice. I also love the Finjan coffee spot next door.

The staff is also consistently warm and kind, which makes the whole experience feel good from the moment you walk in. My only real frustration is with the wait times on online orders, and it's significant enough that I have to mention it. I work 10 min away and only get a 35-40 minute break. The app consistently quotes around 20 minutes- but honestly, 20 minutes shouldn't even be necessary. I've stood there and watched them make a bowl. It takes about two minutes. Other similar restaurants have my order ready in five minutes, consistently. So when the app quotes 20 and then I still end up waiting at the 20 minute mark on top of that - in a nearly empty restaurant - something is off. Today this happened (I hit the 20 min mark with no food), and I had to go up and ask them to make my order. This isn't a one-time thing either. It's happened enough times over the years that it genuinely deters me from coming here on my break. To their credit, there was a stretch where it seemed like they had it figured out, so I know they can do it. I just wish that consistency would stick. If you're not on a time crunch, absolutely go. The food alone is worth it. But if you're relying on a quoted pickup time, build in a buffer- a bigger one than you'd think you'd need.

Since we were going to be in Hillcrest, we chose Khyber Pass - and wow, what an incredible decision. This was easily some of the best food I've had in a very long time. We started with the Bolani. Absolute perfection. It had a beautiful crunch, perfectly seasoned filling, and none of that sogginess I often run into with Bolani elsewhere. We could've ordered another plate and been thrilled. Next came the Aushak with ground beef: one of my all-time favorite Afghan dishes. Think of it like delicate leek-filled ravioli topped with savory meat and tangy yogurt. It hit all the right notes. We also shared the Kofta Kabob, served with grilled vegetables and fluffy basmati rice. The seasoning was spot on, and the meat was juicy and tender, similar to Persian koobideh, but truly memorable in its own way. Our server recommended the Afghan Yaghoot Chalao (Cherry Curry) with chicken. Yes, cherries! Sweet, sour, rich, bright. I had to resist the urge to literally lick my plate clean. And then: the Qabuli Palao with lamb. I do not like lamb. My friend loves it, so I agreed...and I'm so glad I did. I genuinely loved this dish. The saffron-coriander rice with carrots and raisins was aromatic and comforting, and the lamb was tender and flavorful. If you're hesitant about lamb, trust me, this dish might convert you. Portions were generous, we came hungry, and still left with leftovers. I also ordered the house-made Doogh, a mint yogurt drink. It's not for everyone, but it's pure comfort to me. We finished with hot tea infused with cardamom, black for me, green for my friend, and it was the perfect close to a perfect meal. I told our server that this food was even more delicious than what my mother makes. I'm Afghan born and raised in San Diego. That is not a compliment I give lightly. I believe the restaurant is under newer management since around 2020/2021. I last ate here in 2015, and even back when it was on Convoy in the late '90s, and this is the best it has ever been. I highly, highly recommend Khyber Pass to anyone: adventurous eaters, first-timers, comfort-food seekers, well everyone. I'll definitely be back, and next time I'm saving room for dessert.

Visited Cluck N Sip on a whim during a recent trip to San Diego. I'm glad we did because the food…read morewas really good!! When we ordered we all got the 2 piece combo. I love that you could mix and match the chicken parts of your choice and are not just confined to 2 of the same. If you want a thigh and a tender you could do that, or if you wanted wings and a thigh you could do that! I had the chicken tenders which were very large. 2 pieces were more than enough for 1 person. The tenders were more like chicken breasts but cut into tenders. However they were still very good!! I tried the sichuan seasoning on the side and I really liked it. It reminded me of shichimi seasoning and had a mild spice. I believe you can order it spicier if you wish. As for sides, my kids got the fries and the fries were excellent. Someone in our party got the mashed potato and that was excellent also. My favorite side however was the hainan rice!!! It was so flavorful and fluffy, my daughter loved it as well. I would go back just for the rice alone! The restaurant is clean and staff is very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning if we visit San Diego again and would recommend it to anyone! Also, forgot to take pics as we couldn't wait to dig in :)
