Olympic Cafe serves many Greek specialties. We've had Saganaki, Moussaka, Greek sausage, and Gyro & Beef Kabob Combo and everything tasted delicious. They had good seasoning and the flavour and the beef kabob was very tender. They have good amount of seatings and the interior design was nice and unique. The staff are very friendly and attentive. They have few parking spots but parking can be little tough on busy times. The quality, portion, and price of the food are great. As usual, had such a great meal at Olympic Cafe. This is one of those places that feels comfortable and welcoming the second you walk in, with generous portions and food that tastes homemade. The Kokkinisto was the standout for me. The beef was incredibly tender and rich without being heavy, and the tomato-based sauce had that slow-cooked flavor that makes you want to keep dipping bread into it long after you're full. Their parking lot is tiny and a terror to get into while dodging other cars, would probably just park in the nearby residential areas on the street in the future. I ordered the gyro and spanakopita combo w a side of hummus. The gyro was flavorful but a little dry, and the spanakopita was so soggy, not one bit of crisp which was disappointing. The hummus was good, helpful because the plates are a little carb heavy. Most plates come with pita, pilaf, and a tasty side salad. Seems like you have to order the right item here. Service was friendly and accommodating, the place is well-decorated and on theme. They have an "outdoor" seating area in a big tent if you prefer. The location is convenient and they have a parking lot which is key in that area! The service was fantastic. The food came out remarkably fast. The flavors were light and tasty. My friend got the lemon soup and couldn't stop raving about it. I had beef and chicken kabobs and they were quite good. Given how quickly the food came out, it was obvious that the kebabs had been previously prepared, which is expected, but my only complaint would be that they could have been warmer. Warm, friendly, and comforting there were tons of families and friends gathered at tables having the most delicious looking meals. This truly looks like a long-standing, neighborhood gem. Everything we had was absolutely phenomenal: my husband is an avogolemno fiend and Olympic Cafe's version nearly put him in tears because it was so good. We come to Olympic Cafe all the time--it's honestly one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. This place is such a hidden gem, and the sweetest family-owned spot. I like to pride myself in knowing great restaurants to eat at and I'd like to trust in other "foodies" recommendations... however Olympic Cafe was unfortunately downright disappointing. The reviews are so high, others have commented how delicious the food was but I came here yesterday and ordered lunch to-go and it was so sad. My boyfriend got the Ribeye Steak Sandwich with french fries, and I got the Gyro and Beef Kabob Plate. The steak sandwich was deplorable. The meat had ZERO taste, the tomato was mushy, my boyfriend was so sad. My Gyro and Beef Kabob Plate though had flavor. The meat for sure was seasoned well, but the rice was bland, the side salad even with dressing was also bland. I think I should have known because the restaurant was filled with older, seniors that the food might have been under seasoned to be health conscious. Total it was $45 for these two, I had even tipped even though it was take-out but we didn't get napkins nor utensils with our to-go order. I definitely will not be coming back, and left this review with 2 stars since at the least the food didn't make us sick. read more

Been waiting to try this spot for months now. My son was visiting so it was the perfect time to come. Perfect sunny day for outdoor dining. We grabbed a table on the patio with our dog. We were promptly greeted with menus and beverages. Started of with the Lemon Chicken Rice soup and it was DEVINE!
