A rather interesting meat store. We walked by the store for the first time today and decided to check it out.. All of the meat is Glatt Kosher ... this means that the meat sold in this shop was processed under a stricter standard of Jewish dietary laws. Everything is sold in Cyrovac packaging, and their meat comes from Mexico. The associate in the store was very helpful, answering our questions and explaining the uniqueness of a variety of their cuts. Everything here currently is beef, but they have plans to introduce lamb products.

Other than its sister store, Iowa Meat Farms, Tip Top Meats in Carlsbad (yes, they have returned), and the Wise Ox, also in Carlsbad, there are hardly any real butcher shops around. But these guys know what they are doing. Try their burgers and meatloaf. They are easy to cook at home. Try their steaks. You can get a legitimately excellent steak here for a fraction of what you would pay at a steakhouse and it will be BETTER than the steakhouse version. Make sure you ask the counter guys to season it for you before they wrap it up. Try their freshly-made sandwiches. Make sure you try their beans behind the deli counter. Their pimento dip in the refrigerated area is legendary and more addictive than crack (or so I have read). They have interesting sodas, craft beers, different mustards, El Indio chips, fresh breads, and a small but very well-curated wine selection. Is there anything they do not do well here? "No," is the answer to that question. They do everything well here. They have their own parking lot but it fills up quickly. There is not much other parking in the area. In the past, I have walked several blocks away in the residential neighborhood to get to the store when there is no parking available. And it was worth it.

Their staff is friendly, quick, and always ready to help. Prices are fair, and everything is cut fresh to order every day. With Thanksgiving around the corner, don't forget to reserve your fresh turkey early. If you're a true sausage lover or simply want the best cuts in town, SIESEL'S is the place to go!

The vibe is wild there- from creepy McDonalds figures to a diner-like bar and decor, it'll feel like no other restaurant or bar you've been to. I had enough sodium for the rest of my week, but man was everything tasty. The Prosciutto Sandwich was so tasty and loaded up with prosciutto. The meatballs were flavorful (and the sauce was great for dipping my sandwich!). The drinks were super cool. I got the freak nasty and it might've been one of the best drinks I've had in a while. Think a cross between a Gin & Tonic and an Italian sandwich. And the pickle beer was very pickle forward! The waitress was very friendly and was able to speak to all the drinks. I'd definitely come here again... just maybe not too frequently given the high sodium levels haha.

Bone In Ribeye was amazing as well. Cooked perfectly. Horseradish sauce was good but I would prefer it a bit more spicy. They had a bone in New York which you don't see too often so would try next time. Dirty hash is def worth it. Brocollini really good as well. Fries good hut you can get that anywhere so pass for next time. Appetizers were oysters, steak tartare and Caesar salad. Past reviews say steak tartare was table side. This one was not. All were OK but will try snails next time and order an extra side. Ambiance very nice. We had table on rooftop. Service was very good but a little slow for me. 1/2 Born and Raised is undeniably one of the most stunning…read moredining rooms in San Diego, the atmosphere alone is worth the visit. We felt it from the moment we walked in. We kicked things off with dirty martinis, which were delicious but poured a little light. For starters, we tried the Petite King Crab with bonito mayo and chive oil, and the Caesar salad. The king crab had a slightly fishy edge, though the lemon gelée did a nice job cutting through it. The Caesar was fine, visually striking with the whole lettuce leaves, but honestly I'd prefer it chopped. The trend feels more aesthetic than practical. For mains, we split the NYC strip and the ribeye. Both were cooked well and enjoyable, but neither hit that "wow" moment you hope for at a steakhouse of this caliber. The real showstopper? The Dirty Hashbrowns with trout roe and crème fraîche. Absolutely unhinged in the best way, fun, decadent, different, and completely stole the show. We paired dinner with a smooth California Cab that was a perfect complement. Bottom line: the food is solid but a bit inconsistent in show stopping. The vibes, however, are a 10/10. If you're going for atmosphere and a memorable night out, Born and Raised delivers. Just order the hashbrowns. Non-negotiable.
