Truly a delightful experience. Steak Diane was spot on, as was the French Onion soup and the bread. See the photos 4 ur self. The Mac and cheese was scrumptious, as was the Baked Alaska. Excellent service, very attentive, every five minutes they inquire about our needs and satisfaction. Certainly will return, and easy on the wallet too.

Far and away the best meal start to finish I've had in a long time. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The whole place is straight out of Gatsby!! Parking is very tricky, but if you can score a meter, it's only $5 for 2 hours nearby. The Baked Alaska was incredible. The Wellington for 2 was better than Hell's Kitchen. 10 outta 10. Will be back.

Been here a few times, but this was my first time during Happy Hour, which is seated upstairs only. HH runs weekdays from 3:00-4:30 PM. We had an incredible server, Clint, who was genuinely one of the main reasons I'd come back. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable without ever being pushy, a rare and much-appreciated balance. We ordered a good mix from the menu: $9 Dirty Tots $9 Charcoal-roasted oysters $4 "shitty" chef-driven slider $5 Philly cheesesteak $10 New York skewers $29.99 Cava & caviar Standouts for me were the oysters, dirty tots, and sliders all excellent and absolutely worth re-ordering. Portions are on the smaller side, but everything is beautifully presented, so plan on ordering multiple plates if you're sharing or hungry. As expected with CH projects, the space itself is stunning stylish, well designed, and a great atmosphere for happy hour.

Second time at Born and Raised this time for girls night. We absolutely enjoyed the fruit salad that has now become my favorite. Service was good always checking on us but not pressuring. This place is very trendy and the upstairs seating area is gorgeous with a view. Definitely will be back again as it's a great experience each time.

A little late to reviewing but wowie everything was great. See pics for the food and overall would recommend for a special occasion!

I love it here. Hands down, one of the best happy hours and always delicious bites. Service with the server last night was slow re: drinks and food - he also tried to get us to order more for the table unnecessarily. A little ick. But my other experiences have been great so I'll chuck last night up to poor service from just one particular guy. The table side martini is a super fun experience. Recommend!

I found Born & Raised to be good, not great. It's hard when you're paying that much for a steak and experience- you really expect it to be amazing. The space itself feels very art deco, it's beautiful. I had a peak at the rooftop as well when I went to the bathroom and was really blown away by the view up there. Super nice! I shared a salad and shrimp dish with my husband, both were good and then I ordered the petite filet with the mashed potatoes. Overall, I thought the portions were good, and the steak was well made.

I decided to have my birthday dinner here. Classic-modernized steakhouse located in San Diego's Little Italy. The ambience is very upscale and elegant all around. The rooftop has an amazing view of downtown in the evening. We came in with a reservation as a party of 3. Service here from the host to the servers is amazing. Anderson was our server and he made sure we had a great experience. They knew it was my birthday and even gave me a handwritten birthday greeting card. That was very thoughtful. While we waited for our food, they served complimentary champagne. Another thoughtful gesture. Now for the food. My daughter and I shared the dinner for two- Wagyu steak sampler. It's was so good! The meat was so tender. The presentation was perfect. It was more than enough for us both. Medium rare and melts in your mouth! We also ordered a side of potato purée. Here is the reason for the missing stars. My husband ordered the rib eye. Medium rare as well with a side of broccolini. His steak was ok but was lacking tenderness which seems like it was more medium than anything. We believe it was probably just lacking tenderness. For the price of the ribeye, we expected a much better steak. The bread was dry and not tasty at all. You can spread the butter on it but it doesn't do much. Our dinner ended with a complimentary macaroon. It was cute with a single candle to blow out. I would definitely recommend this steakhouse to others. If you're looking for a modern steakhouse for a date. Come here. I would definitely recommend the Wagyu.

Came to celebrate my anniversary and it exceeded my expectations. Pretty loud inside dining but didn't bother us. Our server was super attentive and service was fast.

Amazing experience last night for my birthday celebration. We arrived a few minutes early and were greeted warmly by the hostess. She saw it was my birthday and wished me happy birthday. She directed us to the bar to wait. We got whiskey smash and espresso martini- both delicious! The manager Daniel sat us with a special menu printed with my name on it. After a few minutes, he realized it was loud next to the bar and offered to reseat us at a quieter table! Mae ordered fresh raw oysters, petite filet steak , New York steak, fries and brocolli. Everything was seasoned well and delicious. Our waters were always filled and the staff was attentive. We finished with a birthday pb&j macron. Overall a wonderful evening- highly recommend!

My brother‑in‑law was in town and said he needed an amazing steak. Say less -- we knew exactly where to take him. Born & Raised is our go‑to spot for steak lovers and out‑of‑towners. In my opinion, it's a true San Diego staple. It sits right in beautiful Little Italy. The rooftop has a great view of the San Diego cityscape -- it really shows off how gorgeous this city is. The service and attention to detail are next level. Every fixture is custom and intentional -- exactly what you expect from a Consortium restaurant -- but this one is easily one of my favorites. We ordered the bread, the tableside Caesar, a steak sampler, the ribeye and a few sides to share. Everything was incredible. The bread was warm, flaky, and buttery. The steak sampler was a fun way to try a few cuts, but the dry‑aged steak was the standout for me. The sides rounded out the meal perfectly. We each had a couple of cocktails, all beautifully crafted. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but the experience is absolutely worth it -- especially if you want something memorable and uniquely San Diego.

Yes yes yes x 10000. Mom and dad were coming into town for mom's birthday so my boyfriend and I took them here for dinner. From the second we arrived, we were greeted and made to feel like VIP (we aren't ;) ). I made a note that it was mom's birthday on the reservation, and EVERY single person from the hostess, to the person who brought our waters, to our waitress made sure to wish her a happy birthday. It set the tone for such a special and memorable evening. First of all, the service was so incredible outstanding. JANE is no joke the best waitress I've ever had. She was so professional and knowledgeable while also remaining warm and matching our excited tone for the night. Dad has a nut allergy which we informed her about in the beginning of the evening. We ordered the Jamon Serrano as an appetizer, and she made sure to let us know that the literal pig's primary diet is acorns and wanted to make sure that was okay with his allergy... who thinks of that!? That is a true rockstar professional right there. Now onto the food and bevies.. We got the table side martinis which were so fun to watch and absolutely delicious. We also got the table side caesar which was prepared well by Connor who we also enjoyed chatting with. For the mains, we got the wagyu sampler and the beef Wellington (which does take awhile to prepare). The Wellington was beautiful and flavorful as expected. However the absolute star of the show was the wagyu sampler. The first two rows were amazing, however upon tasting the last two rows of meat, it made me think I had never actually had steak before if that's what it's supposed to taste like. I think we actually laughed out loud at how delicious it was. We got a side of Mac and cheese too which was delicious . As a total Mac and cheese snob I take everything into consideration - cook of the noodle, sauce consistency, and sauce taste. While the taste was a bit more mold and cohesively creamy rather than a super flavorful Mac with a ton of different cheeses, it was incredible and felt more elevated than Mac you would get at a brewery for instance. We sat on the rooftop and absolutely loved the decor, ambiance, and sunset views. I will be begging to come back here, and requesting Jane!!

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and received impeccable service. They really go above and beyond to make your special occasion feel important. The food really is top notch. The vibes are very romantic with low lighting. It can be a little loud though. The table side banana foster baked Alaska was delicious.

I knew it was a speakeasy but he did not. I was trying to double-check on my phone that Craft & Commerce was the right restaurant its housed in (yes) when he tried to jet set off down the block "to keep looking" rather than listen to me. I had NO IDEA how popular this spot was, nor anything about its nation-wide reputation. I actually didn't know that until two days ago when a Yelp-friend at home here in Richmond, Virginia, exclaimed excitedly when I told her we stopped in. The host who greeted us was kind, informed us there had been a line to get in that day, but that they had one barrel left; we jumped on it of course. It was happy hour, so the first cocktail I ordered was dirt cheap at $9. It was the Imperial Hawaiian with gin, rum, lemon, pineapple, and orgeat. I really shouldn't have ordered a second drink after that one, but I did have the classic Saturn later on in the night and it was absurdly good! Definitely my favorite of the two. The moody tiki vibe was so cool and fun. They even had frogs you could play on the tables. We had some fun neighbors too, which livened up the experience even more. We had a great time and both walked out heavily buzzed. We were asleep by 8 that night, but it was worth it!

Service is a little confusing as the waiters will come up to you with a menu asking for your order instead of an order at the bar type of thing. Once we actually got a seat things were okay. The menu is mostly rum drinks since this is a rum bar however since I'm not the biggest fan I ordered the only thing with tequila on the menu. My drink was actually really good, it was refreshing, not too sweet or strong at all. I just wish there would be more variety.
