Such a good bar! The drinks are good and reasonably priced for San Diego. The location is great and next to so many spots!! The inside of the bar is super cute too. Love coming here for a drink and even sometimes order from Fortunate Son too if i'm hungry. I've brought a lot of my friends who come to visit San Diego to this bar and they've all loved it!

Loved the ambiance of this bar that is connected to Fortunate Son. I was surprised that at my age, I was still being carded. I'll take that as a compliment! Try this drink when you're here: IS IT A CRIME (Tequila Blanco, Cocchi Americano, Vanilla Chai, Grapefruic Sherbet, Lime, & Seltzer). You'll thank me later. Enjoy! Friendly service at the bar. There's an option to order food from the restaurant next door (they're connected to Fortunate Son).

I've been to Polite Provisions before and I've frequently returned when I want a fun cocktail and a cute atmosphere, but this visit really stood out to me. It started next door when I tried getting a table at Fortunate Son and they said there would be a two hour wait on a Monday night. I remember hearing that you could order their food at Polite Provisions, but I had never tried it and wow, what a life hack! My friend and I found a table with ease, decided what drinks we wanted, and then ordered our cocktails and our food at the bar. Everything came out so fast and it was served exactly as it would be if you were eating at Fortunate Son. They even have boxes to take your leftovers home as well. You really get the best of both worlds with the delicious food and Polite Provisions elaborate drink menu.

Known for their craft cocktails, this bar has so much character with its plants, crown moldings and ceiling designs. The gold details and decorative tile work also gives it a regal touch, though the place is pretty laid back. There are several booths inside and patio seating with bistro tables outside. Most come here for the drinks, but you can also order Chinese food from their next door sister restaurant, Fortunate Sons.

Beautiful decor inside and i love that you can order food from the Chinese restaurant next door, Fortunate Son, and they will bring it over. Parking is definitely a struggle here, because of the area. Definitely plan ahead and carpool is probably your best bet. We got here around 3:40 p.m. on a Saturday and it took us a bit of driving around to finally grab a spot. I know this place can get really packed later into the evening, but at the time we arrived it was pretty empty. Be prepared they will ask you for ID regardless of how old you look, it's just a precaution. They asked us to show ours as soon as we stepped to the bar. We sat down and were served very promptly, I ordered a blue velvet. When it came out it wasn't quite as blue as the picture, but the taste was exactly what I wanted. Light with just a little sweetness but not too much. I like that the Ice Cube has their initial stamped into it. I also like that they use the one large ice cube instead of a bunch of Ice cubes. They have a good amount of seating, and I look forward to coming back here again to stay longer, and possibly have some food delivered from next door. Definitely check this place out, it's so pretty inside and great for photos, but also the drinks are good as well.

I personally loved this place. It's perfect. The drinks were amazing and their selection is huge. Literally like 20+ drinks on their menu. The concept is really unique and different. The service was really quick for a Saturday night. The ambiance is dark and laid back, jazzy music with lots of pinteresty people. Met a lot of really cool people here and it's a great place to take pictures or just enjoy drinks with friends. I will be coming back.

Stumbled upon Polite Provisions on a Sunday night while (attempting) to go to a very popular ice cream spot near it. Spontaneously decided to walk in and our trio group was pleasantly surprised how relaxed it was. Open seating was great & really enjoyed the drinks and music. Would come back again.

We came here over the holidays for its holiday decors and festive cocktails. It was packed like a Japanese subway on a weekday morning. We were standing/sitting so close together, we might as well be one big party. Despite being so busy, the hosts and bartenders were very attentive and friendly. We were greeted, told to find any space we liked and placed our orders at the bar. The drinks were not bad. They were creative, not bad-tasting, even though it was kinda small and quite pricey. We had a great time there.

    Presh N.

My friends and I visited during the holiday season, and it was easily one of the cutest bars I've been to. The line was long, but we were able to get in after about 10 minutes. We ordered drinks from their festive menu, and I had the "Bad Elf Behavior," which had a hint of cinnamon and a citrusy taste. The vibes were amazing. Everyone was wearing Santa hats, and the decorations were unbeatable. It's definitely the place to be if you're looking to get into the holly jolly spirit. Although seating was first come, first served, it wasn't too bad since people were constantly coming and going.

Beautifully decorated interior and the ambiance was very on point here with the dim lighting, candles, and old timey vibe. We shared the Silk Road cocktail and the grape mocktail. Drinks were pretty good. Bartenders were really friendly. Would recommend this spot for a drink!

This review is way over due! Polite Provisions is one of the best pop-up Christmas bars in San Diego. I should know, I've been to a few! It's right up there with LaFayette- they're in a class of their own! Located in the heart of North Park, this place is known for its creative drinks, vintage apothecary-style decor, and festive holiday pop-ups like "Miracle on 30th Street". This winter wonderland will not disappoint! Food can be ordered next door at Fortunate Son and brought to your table. This is an absolute must if you're in town! Side note: expect long waits, particularly on weekends and during the holiday season. We waited about an hour to get in, but it was totally worth it!

    Christmas Pop Up
    Joseph D.

Came for the Christmas pop up and was not disappointed. The themed drinks and decorations were super festive and fun! Great spot for pictures and cocktails. The one caveat is that it's super popular and a lot of people come, so you may struggle to find seating or get service from the bartenders.

    Tiara N.

The drinks and ambiance here are honestly incredible and I can't wait to come back already! I especially recommend visiting during the holiday season, because they really transform the space with Christmas decor, and it really makes everything feel extra festive. I ordered the espresso martini, and it was definitely strong but still smooth and delicious! Overall, it is absolutely worth a visit if you are looking for great cocktails in a memorable setting.

Being a sober girlie, I've heard about this place for years and was thrilled to finally try it so we had to order a few drinks. They have a CBD infused drink part of the menu, a kava section and a mocktail drink section along with a food menu. The food looked delicious but we came here for a night cap after eating dinner nearby. We snagged 3 drinks- I need to check my notes on which ones we got but they were all so good. This is the type of place you can come here for a first date, date night worh your partner or co-work with your laptop. I really like the growing NA trend, and even though I drink, it's great to have an alternative, safer-feeling, and more inclusive nightlife option. I came with a couple friends on a Sunday night, about a week ago. We all drink alcohol, but we've all been drinking less lately. The place was almost empty around 8pm, which we found concerning for its prospective longevity. We also thought the prices were pretty steep -- maybe I'm biased as someone who drinks alcohol, but if I'm getting a mocktail or other NA drink, I'd like to pay less than $15+ for it. Still, I ordered the Ave Maria and thought it was one of the best mocktails I've ever had. One of my friends got the Malibu (he liked it but did complain about the price), and I don't remember what my other friend got. We sat for a while and played Connect4 using the fanciest set I'd ever seen. Some more people came in, so it didn't feel nearly as empty by the time I left. I'd probably come back, but only if I was with someone who doesn't drink and/or really wanted to try this bar. I hope they make it!
