Shout out to the designer behind Starlite. The moment you walk in, your eyes are immediately drawn to the recess bar area, with those gorgeous Starlite chandeliers hanging low at eye level. Against the dark ambiance, it really feels like gazing into a night sky filled with bright stars. It was absolutely mesmerizing. Climb the short staircase and you'll find an indoor outdoor patio dining area, lush with tropical plants hanging from above and palm trees throughout. It gives off such a warm, exotic, vacation like feeling. Then, walk further to the right and you'll discover another dining room they call the Disco Cave. With all the sparkling mirrored glass decorating the walls, it feels like a time capsule transporting you to another era. The mood and ambiance were unexpectedly festive and magical. Our server, Mati, was wonderful. She constantly checked in to make sure we were doing well. We weren't happy with the sea bass dish we ordered, and she immediately took care of it and graciously offered us the menu to choose another dish. The food was unexpectedly delicious, especially the Prime Filet Steak, which was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Also the Chef's Vegetables Salad, I don't usually get excited about a salad, but this salad completely won me over. The vegetables were fresh, crisp, and beautifully presented. We'll definitely be back.

Loved Starlite. Attentive servers. Ambiance and vibes are immaculate. I had the French onion soup and Jidori Chicken. I had leftovers from the chicken it was a generous portion. My friend had the burger. We shared the mac and cheese and carrots. All of the food was really yummy. I had the Honey Rider-dangerously smooth and tasty. Very fruity and refreshing. I forget what drink my friend had, but she enjoyed it. I can't wait to come back. I hope to get a table near the waterfall next time.

My goodness what a stunning space this is! I was absolutely captivated by the interior of the restaurant downstairs, as well as the newer upstairs area where we ate. Everything is beautiful to look at, and I would say this was absolutely the highlight of the experience. Not all seating is equal, here, however. So it's kind of a gamble what you are going to get. We shared a salad and honey gochujung carrots which all were very tasty. The cocktails had a great presentation and were delicious as well. I really loved how they took notice of my birthday and even brought out a cake slice with my name on it!! What an amazing touch. My only criticism would be that everything took a while. I'm sure the place gets busy, but I did spend a lot of time waiting to catch a glimpse of our server who was busy running around. To me it just seemed like he had too many big tables to manage, which isn't at fault to him. He was actually amazing! I would definitely come back here for a special occasion again.

Loved Starlite. Everything we got here was delicious. The Starlite Ice Cream Sandwich was heavenly. The fresh ginger non-alcoholic drink the server recommended was exactly what I wanted, even though I didn't know it until I had my first sip. My grilled sea bass was perfection. I'm definitely getting it again when I visit. My husband loved his steak with puréed potatoes, and my friend really enjoyed her Starlite Burger. We also got a wedge salad, which was divine, and the mushrooms were so good. Fantastic place to visit for delicious food and a beautiful setting. You'll have a great time here.

This restaurant is so pretty! It's just really small so recommendations are absolutely needed.. if you plan on walking in the only spot you can sit is around the bar to get the full menu. Although the bar is still very pretty, the seats were not comfortable. It's extremely loud. And not ideal for a date night romantic evening, dining somewhere. Making sure you get the reservation reservations deacon considered an actual table is the way to go. The onion soup was amazing very rich very flavorful. They had a second bar upstairs. As well as outdoor sitting on the patio and then. Seating in the cave that leads to a waterfall. It's a very pretty restaurant. Definitely worth celebrating something fun there.

Had our anniversary dinner here and it did not disappoint. The minute you walk in it's stunning. The service was amazing. Justin was our servicer and he was super attentive. The drinks, food and desserts were tasty. Would highly recommend this place for a special occasion night. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Starlite for your hospitality.

Came here again for the second time to bring a friend from out of town & we had a great visit! The ambiance is, of course, stunning. I love the "patio" area with all of the plants & fire pits. It is a totally different experience coming during the day (earlier dinner) versus night (later dinner). Parking can be tough so plan accordingly + reservations can be tough so I would recommend planning ahead for reservations also. We had the tartare starter (incredible), broccoli & scalloped potatoes side & the steak sampler, as well as a cocktail and mocktail. 2/4 steaks did come overcooked (we ordered medium, though they came out closer to well done) but they did a recook & all was well. They also do such a cool birthday dessert (a fun confetti vanilla cake) with your name on it. Our server, Dani, was fantastic. Very nice & attentive. The manager came and checked in to make sure all was well with the recook. Service was truly fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Food/drinks, service + the ambiance cannot be beat.

I was so amazed with everything this place gives me true hidden gem vibes.

This place is amazing. My wife surprised me on our Anniversary with this culinary gem . Everything from the service to the delicious food. The vibe and decor of all three areas is amazing. You get a full resort vibe minutes from the airport. I highly recommend this place great for all occasions. Definitely can't wait to come back to try the other delicious food.

Fanciest ig worthy restaurant with the gourmet food to match. Staff is also on point and always welcoming. This is the newest remodel to this restaurant and it's all worth the hype. I know everyone wants to get the waterfall section, so make sure u make reservations early because they fill up. Sometimes I get weary on going to restaurants that are social media worthy, and it doesn't taste good. But everything on the menu is so delicious. Best thing to always get? Salted croissants and the cocktails ! Still trying everything on the menu. Can't wait to get back.

The coolest bar I've been to in SD! The interior space alone gets a 5/5 from me. Each room feels like an art installation. Super immersive! Every corner you look is a snap-worthy moment. Don't be afraid to walk around a bit when you're here! The ambiance is pretty chill. Some areas are more intimate than others. It really depends on what you're looking for! From a romantic date or some drinks with friends, they've got nooks for all if it. The night we were there, there was a live DJ! I wouldn't say the music was my favorite, but it was a nice touch. On to the drinks! Of the ones we got, my favorite had to be their Starlite Mule. Probably one of the best mules I've had! Super fresh and light. The pricing is pretty steep here, so we didn't delve too deep into the food menu. The fries we got for the table were solid. Can't really go wrong!

Enjoyed a birthday dinner celebration with the girls in the disco room! It's such a cool space and worth the wait for a table. The burger was sooo good and worth it, as were the carrots at mushrooms that we split across the table. Cocktails are also fabulous, we enjoyed some drinks at the bar before our table was ready and our group loved the mix of mocktails and cocktails! We had such a fun time celebrating our girls birthday and felt that the servers went above and beyond to provide customized birthday cake and drinks just for the experience.

CH does it again with their monopoly on the trendiest restaurants in San Diego. They absolutely nail the aesthetics as well as the food. Entering the restaurant felt like I was entering space mountain. Each of the different rooms all have a different feel but I'm so so glad we got sat in the back section with the disco mirror walls and waterfall. Jay was our waiter and he even brought us specialty shots to celebrate our promotion dinner. Food was delish as always, special shout out to the broccolini. Another perfect dinner spot to check out in SD!

Reservations are encouraged but not mandatory as I saw numerous people get in as walk ins before my reservation. Walk-ins are seated at the bar and limited to 1 hour. We made a reservation and although we arrived on time, we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. I agree with some of the other commenters when they say that the revolving fireplace needs some love. It has the look and feel of needing to be updated. Also, for it to be a "speakeasy" vibe, you could hear the loudness of the bar through the walls. It just kind of ruins the facade a little bit. Regardless, we enjoyed the novelty of being slowly admitted to the speakeasy on the opposite side. We were given seats and upon first glance it was a dark lit space with an old fashioned aesthetic. I was surprised to see how casual everyone was dressed- I assumed there was a dress code, but I guess flip flops made the cut ‍. It took a few minutes for our server to attend to us, and when he did you could tell he was slammed. We just didn't get the table side manner one was hoping for an establishment like this. Peeking at their drink menu, I found myself disappointed that much of their options had a lot of sweet or fruit juice ingredients. So, I went for their old fashioned. For the price, it was just okay. Another disappointing moment. In all, it wasn't terrible, but it just isn't worth the hype. Overpriced and mediocre drinks and a seemingly overworked staff didn't make for a memorable experience and ended up not being for us. Glad to have tried it...but look elsewhere if you've actually been to a speakeasy. This just doesn't live up to what it's trying to sell you.

The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that, while the experience and ambiance were amazing, the drinks are definitely on the pricier side. It was absolutely the best way to end my husband's birthday weekend! Big shout out to Ben and Moe for taking care of us! They were both so nice, very knowledgeable and just made our experience at Kamon top notch! We had 12 cocktails and each one was perfection. The Tokyo Banana, The White Lover, Sazerac and Matcha one were our favorites!! Thank you for an amazing way to close out the best day ever!

Finally made it to this cute speakeasy in San Diego! We stopped by on a Sunday around 5 PM and had…read moreno trouble walking right in. There were plenty of seats available, and service was quick and smooth. Cocktails were around $15-18 each. I ordered the Perpetual Motion and absolutely loved it, the sweet strawberry flavor paired perfectly with the creamy Calpico. It's the kind of drink I'd order again and again. I also tried the Piña Colada, which was equally delicious. Even though the cocktails are beautifully handcrafted and easy to sip, you can still taste the liquor, which I always appreciate. This is such a great spot for a first date, a girls' night out, or simply catching up with friends. One of my favorite parts was exploring the vinyl room, it adds such a fun retro touch. The entire space has a nostalgic, vintage vibe that makes you feel like you've stepped into another era. It's the perfect place to relax, enjoy some creative cocktails, and soak in the atmosphere.

This is a nice establishment, especially for lounging with a date. Very clean and nice drinks too…read more A little pricey however that's the norm in this area for the more popular out of towner type spots. The servers are friendly. But you have to be patient as they are often quite busy. The record store and records theme is what they present online but to be honest that is only a minute section of the establishment. It definitely doesn't describe the theme of the place neither. The worker in the record section simply ignored me when I tried to purchase a record and after a minute I had to ask for him to please ring me up. No apology from him. No biggie, I still had a decent time drinking here.
