Our server, Kate, was super friendly and offered excellent service. We enjoyed the brussels sprouts and oysters appetizers. I ordered the pork chop. It was flavorful and juicy.. My husband ordered the halibut. It had a beautiful presentation. It was flaky and delicious. We decided to have dessert and ordered their bread pudding. OMG... it was warm and perfect amount of sweetness, topped with vanilla ice cream. It was a great ending to a wonderful experience. If you're looking for an oceanic view restaurant, this place is it. I had an absolutely horrendous experience at Brigantine Seafood & Oyster Bar, and I can't stress enough how much it ruined my best friend's birthday. The host, Mavie, was not just rude; she was downright nasty. Her awful attitude made us feel unwelcome from the moment we walked in. We were shoved into a dirty table that was way off in a corner, far from everyone else. When we politely asked to move to a better spot, the manager responded with a rude demeanor and actually asked us to leave! This was shocking and completely unacceptable. To top it off, we had a service dog with us, and instead of being accommodating, the staff acted annoyed and disrespectful. This place is a complete disaster when it comes to customer service. I recently visited Brigantine at Portside Pier, and my experience was incredibly disappointing due to the unprofessional behavior of the staff. When I approached the receptionist, Maive, to ask about the wait for an outdoor table, I was respectful. However, she responded with a rude attitude, rolling her eyes and using offensive language. She told me the wait would be two hours while displaying a completely unprofessional demeanor. Things only got worse when the manager arrived. Instead of addressing Maive's behavior, the manager was even ruder and more unprofessional. Rather than correcting the situation, they asked us to leave, which added to our frustration. To top it off, my service dog tried to greet the manager, who responded by saying, "Your dog is touching me," in a dismissive tone. It's disheartening to see a restaurant with so much potential tarnished by such poor staff behavior. I feel sorry for the owner because the attitudes of the management and reception team have severely impacted the restaurant's reputation. This experience ruined our day, and I cannot recommend Brigantine at Portside Pier. Horrible! read more

On an early night first time visit we were seated after waiting 15 minuets after our reservation to be seated in our second seat where rain started coming in on our table. Eventually w were seated inside and ordered a very nice charcuterie board and drinks. I could tell the bartender used an actual measuring jig to make mine because it was vey weak, so I suggest asking for "a strong" drink at your visit. I was served a very dry breaded Ahi on mashed potatoes. I ate the vegetables and the charcuterie.Thankfully they took it off the bill. My partner had some huge bacon wrapped shrimp, together we would not choose theses dishes again. Quite possibly the most affordable ocean side restaurant I have ever had the privilege of dining at. The staff was courteous and thoughtful and the back patio was right on the ocean. The food options were massive and I had the French dip. I was able to get garlic truffle fries with no additional charge and the ambiance was that of a five star restaurant for a three star price. This was a wonderful event for my Husband's Alumni Association visiting in town. We were the designated "hosts" of the dinner reception and it was a wonderful time. We arrived early and checked in with the restaurant hostess. She indicated that until the rest of our party arrived, we would need to wait until 6p (25 more mins), to be seated in our area. Turns out, the CEO/President of the Alumni Assn & University Foundation walked up at the same time. We were directed to sit at the bar to wait. As we started to sit at the bar, about 5 others from the Alumni Assn and Foundation came into the restaurant. We greeted each other with hugs and handshakes. Then, the lead hostess came up to our group at the bar and said that we can now start seating in our reserved reception area. The area was right next to the beautiful wood wall art mural. Service was outstanding, and we tried a variety of dishes: Seafood platter - lobster, oysters, shrimp Blackened ahi tuna sashimi Swordfish Charcuterie board Calamari Stuffed shrimp Coconut shrimp Fish and chips Crab cakes Tempura lobster tacos I personally enjoyed a crab and shrimp Louis salad, which was delicious and featured a generous amount of seafood plus hard boiled egg, tomatoes, and the Louis dressing on the side. Their lunch menu offered a good variety with their specialty in seafood. We started with some appetizers - oysters on the half shell, crab cake, and calamari. It came with a side of coleslaw which was some of the best I've ever had! To accompany my seafood, I ordered a Blackberry Fizz mocktail which was so refreshing. We ordered the crabcakes, calamari, and brussels sprouts, for appetizers, and somehow I found a shell in the crabcakes when I bit into it, which cracked one of my teeth. After trying to locate a waitress, she didn't seem too concerned, nor was I, until I later found that tooth fragment lodged into my gum and the side of my teeth. The salad was good and offered plenty of shrimp and crab meat. The salmon was cooked as I had requested, but maybe not seared enough on the outside to be crunchy although I do appreciate that they left the inside fairly raw. The food was good, but obviously disappointed that I cracked my tooth. The biggest challenge I had with the restaurant was we had to wait for them to clear a table for our party of six even though we had reservations. The server was friendly, but seemed to be too aloof to visit regularly and took a long time before she came back for our dessert order or even our regular entrée orders. Really disappointing brunch experience at Brigantine Portside Pier. The wait time from ordering to getting your food is ridiculous. We looked around and no one had food! Unfortunately, things didn't improve once we were seated. After waiting quite a while for our food, everything came out cold across the table. The biggest letdown was the chicken and waffles. I've genuinely never had drier chicken--it was not only overcooked but completely bland. We ended up not eating it at all and actually left still hungry, which says a lot. We also tried the French toast and potatoes, and both were undercooked, with the potatoes tasting almost raw. Overall, really poor execution and not a place I'd recommend for brunch read more

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here in January this year and a birthday for someone special last October. I am glad to finally have the chance to write a review. There is parking that stretches around a quarter of a mile along the pier and it can get really busy as people not only dine but also enjoy walking along the area to appreciate the scenery of the ocean. There is also a paid self-parking with plenty of spaces, located about a seven-minute walk from Brigantine. This venue is located along Harbor Drive and offers a breathtaking view of the ocean, with sailboats passing by right outside the windows. The staff were very nice and had a great sense of humor. They made sure we felt comfortable and well accommodated. While the view is one of the highlights of this place, the food is just as delicious. I had the shrimp casserole with yellow rice and spices. The shrimp was tender and flavorful, matched with the warm, soft and seasoned rice. The pork sirloin and selected steaks were also tender and juicy. Overall, it was a great experience. The view and amazing customer service, topped with the delicious food, made the visit exceptional. read more

Bare corporate minimum that doesn't get you in trouble. I started with the house baked oysters, which were actually the best part of my entire meal. They were nice big ones with some extra umami going on. For the entree, I had the crab stuffed prawns which were an utterly confused dish. You couldn't taste any one thing, and for some reason bacon was involved for no good reason. I think it was rude to the crab. The beans on the side had zero seasoning- I thought about asking for table salt to throw on there. Strangely the best part of the dish was the mashed potato riff. Since I was on a per diem, I went for dessert- the mud pie. It was pretty good and as usual where I expect a chain restaurant to do well. tldr; you're paying for the view and some average food. read more

We went on a Saturday lunch around 12pm without any reservations and we were able to be seated at the outside tables (patio) with water views directly. We tried the Brussels sprouts and lobster tempura tacos. I also got a 6oz glass of Brigantine white wine for $11 which was solid value. The Brussels sprouts were really good - sweet and savory, with chorizo and pork belly so it is quite a hearty dish. The lobster tempura tacos were excellent too - $29 for 2 sounds steep but the lobster is a whole lobster tail battered and it is very fresh. The sides of fries and vegetables were okay but make up a complete meal. Service is decent and the overall experience for the views is excellent. read more
