I have driven by a number of times, but didn't know there was a coffee shop adjacent. We were wandering around and I could use a pick me up, so we stopped in. There's a number of baked goods too but the surprise was adult coffees! I ordered the Sweet as Taboo, in honor of my Queen, Sade. This was a really good coffee drink! Rum, coffee and sweet cream...can't go wrong with that! They have a number of outdoor seats, but we sat at the entrance in these comfy chairs. Cako greeted people who came up. She really liked it here because she laid down. Definitely work checking out! If coffees not your thing, there's a cigar lounge next door. The guy working was friendly and chill, and it's a relaxing vibe. Cako Approves!
Stopped by Quiet Storm Roasters for the first time today. I asked if they were known for any particular drink and was recommended the iced Ube latte. Pros: -free Wi-Fi -there are some seats inside (bar seats that look out onto the street as well as comfy seats) as well as outdoor seating Cons: -none.
Such a Cool vibe here! Relaxed and casual but also eclectic! I stopped here on a Tuesday around 10am to meet a friend. It was not too busy at the time. I got a good seat indoors (it was a tad drizzly) but had a great view of outside with the open area I sat in and a breeze came through which I quite enjoyed. I didn't get a drink other than water. I bought a little banana chocolate walnut loaf and it was to die for! Tons of creamy chocolates inside. I loved it. Super indulgent yet amazing! I'd happily come here again and get a drink.
My daughter texted me, "Tip that place. They have good taste," after I shared a pic of the album covers on the wall. And yes, they have great taste in coffee. I fell in love with this spot after settling down with my red eye, laptop fired up, and Frank Ocean playing in the background. I've hit this spot 3 of 4 days since I've been here. Why? They made me feel welcome among their regulars. They care about crafting your drink of choice. And the service is amazing without being pretentious. If you're in the area, put this on your must stop list. Coffee. Music. People. It's a quiet storm vibe.
I love this idea and this space. It's such a vibey spot tucked away but still in the area. I'm giving it four stars because the coffee wasn't very tasteful. This would be a great spot to have a beer or smoke a cigar outside if you're into those things!
The whole vibe at this place is exactly what this city needs. It was cute, full of love, chill, good energy, peaceful with a hint of "this place can turn up" when it needs to be. Service is impeccable. They noticed it was my first time here and gave me the lowdown on the drinks and events happening in the space. Took time even though there was a line building up behind me to make my experience personalized. Didn't get any food but them cookies on display looked huge and delicious. Looking at the menu, their teas actually sounded more interesting than their coffees. But it was the beginning of my day and I needed some caffeine. So I went with a Strawberry n Cream coffee with oat milk. That was smooth. Not my favorite but the oat milk was the right choice. It enhanced the flavors just right. I also got a Chocolate Frosty with coconut milk and that was so good I wanted to turn back and shake the baristas hand. That is a must if you come here. About 20 spots to sit down and do so work. Bring headphones if you wanna listen to your own music because they do have 90s music playing which I was a fan of. Didn't make note of any outlets however. Later on in the day, you can order beer and wine there as well. It's a tiny place but powerful. It's BIPOC owned as well. Only downside is that parking is terrible there. Maybe try Balboa park and walk over. It's super close. Either way 5 stars from me!
Quiet Storm Coffee Shop is easily one of my favorite neighborhood spots. I visit frequently, and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to unwind with a good book or just enjoy the laid-back vibe. One of the best things about this spot is that it stays open late--a rare find for a coffee shop. Plus, the fact that they serve alcoholic drinks is a huge bonus. The staff is always friendly and chill, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere.
A very interesting layout on the inside, doesn't really feel the usual coffee shop where there is a lot of seating and people studying. Mostly a good spot to stop by and grab a coffee or a pastry. Or also smoke a cigar! They have some outside seating for people to smoke a cigar if desired. There is street parking but can be hard to find. Ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte. It was very good and was on the milkier side and a bit sweeter than I like. But overall still really good and I would come again. They have other non-coffee options and had some happy hour signs posted as they also serve alcoholic drinks.
Local family run business that deserves your patronage!! Was walking by and saw they had the fight playing so thought I'd join and watch. Ordered a matcha tea and quiche, not thinking much...THE QUICHE WAS SOOOOO GOOD that I immediately went in and ordered 2 more!!! Super flaky with bacon, to die for! He also had an egg white quiche but I'm more into whole egg so I didn't try. Bet it's good though. Came near closing and they said they won't kick me out, yay! They even carry milk substitutes and Stevia. I'm in love with this lil gem!

Such a cute cafe! I love the R&B vibe and lots of cute plants inside. The staff was very friendly and service was quick! I didn't have trouble with parking but it was a slower time of the day. My iced chai latte was delicious! read more
This place was just okay. It is so unassuming if you walk by that it has a little coffee shop. My friend and I went early on a weekday morning hoping there would not be any cigar smokers at 10:30 a.m. but we were wrong. So just know if you go there there's a good chance you will smell cigar smoke. On the special team in you no prices are listed which is very frustrating. Two drinks was $18. Parking is difficult in this area my friend and I parked about four blocks away. read more

Stopped by during the week afternoon, very calm. Barista was kind and made a great latte. Had their Isa's latte iced and it was so good. They have a really nice view of the outside, nice to sit and people watch or just have a moment outside. Parking can be tricky on a busy weekend. read more

Local family run business that deserves your patronage!! Was walking by and saw they had the fight playing so thought I'd join and watch. This one star is simply for the good music, banana bread, and the nice guy who rang me up. I stood at the register for over 7 minutes waiting for someone to ring me up. I got the ube iced coffee and a banana bread. The coffee was not good. At all. No taste of ube, watered down, just... not good. The banana bread was AMAZING! read more

Quiet storm roasters has such a unique vibe! They serve alcohol and coffee plus cigars which creates an interesting ambiance. The coffee was good and standard. The man who helped take my order was kind and even brought my coffee out to me! read more

Love this spot! They sell plants that you see throughout the shop. Friendly baristas and their drinks are tasty! Love that they have teas as well. It is relaxing and a great place to study or just hangout. read more

Really laid back atmosphere with patio seating for the cigar smokers. I noticed they also had propane heaters on patio to keep you warm. Service was quick since it was in the evening and there was no one in front of us ordering. Iced coffee had more milk vs coffee ratio but you can still taste the rich bold flavor of the roast , I got a capuchino and I think since it's a smaller portion it has less milk and was super enjoyable for me! They had some desserts available in a small display on the counter but they didn't look that appetizing- (it was a little dark in there) They also had nice R&B flow of music going inside and a movie playing outside I could definitely see myself just hanging around! We were walking around to find coffee and found this place nearby. Stopped in to order a cortado with lavender and oat milk. Delicious! It's a cute, Instagram Mabel looking place. Wide open windows, dark color scheme, and they sell plants! read more
Very quaint and cute coffee shop! The interior is small but there's seating by the bar or by the side of the street and some seating up front! If you want to charge your appliances, there's outlets on the seating facing the street. The staff is nice and chill. They seem to enjoy their work! The plant store next door is cute as well. I got the ube latte and the chocolate cream cold brew and I think I'll be getting The chocolate drink from now on! The parking is limited around the area both in open spots and timing, but you should be able to find one! read more

I love it here! Coffee, cigars, or cocktails :) Easy to park, quick service and you can bring your pup. Great spot to dog watch, tons of local dogs walking by :) I've gotten the U- bae latte and the frosty (cold brew and chocolate cream). Both super tasty. Drinks run a bit sweet so I'll always ask half sweetened and it's still a bit sweet but I like that I'm able to customize. read more

Quiet Storm is doing a lot at once. It's a plant store, coffee shop, bakery, bar, and cigar shop. I had no idea until I got there, so it caught me off guard to all of this and I wondered if I was in the right place. The place is small and open air, a great place to people watch or go sit outdoors next to the street and enjoy the weather. The person working there was super kind and patient, and I very much appreciated it. He also explained to us how the shop is a family run business that started as a pandemic project, which I thought was very cool. I ended up getting the Princess Peach, a peach tea with peach purée. He even let me smell the tea before I ordered! It tasted like a peach gummy and it was super delicious. My friend got a vanilla latte and also thought it was really good. We did work at the cafe and had a good time. The person working there also even gave us some cookies for free. :) I would love to try their pastries next time I'm there. read more

I have been to this delightful little coffee shop twice now and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. This place is a hidden gem that combines the warmth of a coffee shop with a unique twist--doubling as a cigar bar as well. If you're seeking a cozy ambiance, great coffee, and delicious quiche, this is the spot for you. As a student, it is important that I am able to study with free wifi and abundant outlets -- check! T heir coffee is also top-notch, and I highly recommend their specialty drinks -- strawberry white mocha is my favorite. The barista is a lovely man and very attentive to his customers! If you get hungry, definitely try the quiche. The flaky crust melts in your mouth, and the filling is bursting with flavor. My friend got the coconut ube muffin which was a bit on the dry side. I do want to emphasize that there may be people smoking outside and watching TV, and the aroma definitely drifts in if the windows are open. The smell and loud TV can be a bit distracting if you are looking to study, but overall not too bad. The playlist at this coffee shop deserves a special mention. The curated RnB music creates a lovely ambiance, striking the perfect balance to enjoy a relaxing moment or engage in friendly conversations with friends. read more
I pop'd in here during an early morning walk around the hotel where I was staying. The space was inviting and chill and has some relaxing sidewalk covered seating. I got an iced coffee and a couple small loafs of sweet bread. I was assisted by Niko at the counter, he was super polite and helpful. The place is also a cigar bar and has other alcoholic drinks. Looks like it could be a fun hangout in the evening. My experience here was welcoming and peaceful, which is what I look for in the morning :) read more
