They are dog friendly! We had the Hawaiian Latte and Triple Tache Dare You, both iced. I had the Triple Tache Dare You with matcha and it tasty! I love pistachio and hardly have pistachio. It was made with pistachio syrup and pistachio milk, topped with a pistachio cold foam. Thankfully the pistachio taste did not taste artificial. It can be made with espresso but I liked the earthiness from the matcha. The Hawaiian Latte was OK, it tasted like a regular sweetened latte. The cost was around $24 including tip and tax. Staff were welcoming. The cafe was well kept and clean with plenty of seating. The place is spacious, perfect for remote work. I would visit them again whenever in the area.
Moniker never disappoints. I have been to their liberty station location a handful of times, and I especially enjoy their breakfast sandos and iced matcha drinks. I love their rotating seasonal drink menu items--something fun to explore! Today I ordered an iced Hawaiian oat latte and Matcha Lemonade. The staff member was friendly and warm. There are plenty of seats too!
I've been coming here for years and the coffee has been great every time I come. Its an awesome location, next to liberty station and across from pigment and other restaurants. The Banana PB toast is the best most filling bfast choice ever! This is a staple in my coffee shop rotation in SD
Every time I'm driving toward the freeway heading out of North Park I see this coffee shop and I was finally able to visit. As you know parking may be a hassle so beware. The space is pretty big with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Some people were working and some were just hanging out. Inside, they have merch and coffee for sale. Lots of cool stuff on the menu for drinks, pasteries and some quick bites. We ordered an Iced Hawaiian Matcha and an Iced Matcha Lemonade. Both drinks were great! I'm not the biggest fan of matcha but these tasted good.
Went here this morning for a breakfast sandwich and it was pretty good! I got the Bae Sando which tasted great but was a little small but only cost $12. They say it comes on focaccia bread but it felt more like a roll than true authentic focaccia bread. We went at 10am on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded. My friends got the coffee and loved it. Plenty of seating indoor and a small outdoor patio. Great friendly staff too! Parking is hit or miss since it's in north park but I got lucky and didn't have to drive around much. I do want to go back for one of their night events!
I'm a fan of Moniker and frequent their Liberty Station location often. I enjoy their drinks and food options but love how inviting their space is. The North Park location is no different. It's much smaller in scale and parking is limited and all street parking when you can find it, but the inside is comfortable, cozy, and inviting. I usually order the London Fog and the hubby ordered a hot vanilla latte this visit while we sat and read our book.
An okay coffee shop -- nothing really stood out to me. The space is clean, simple, and well maintained. The service wasn't bad, but definitely not the friendliest I've had. This review is for my after hours Marcella pop up experience. It was fun to come here on a cool Thursday evening and enjoy a live DJ while noshing on expertly crafted Neapolitan style pizza. Open space, very relaxed vibe and right across the street from several bars to get a nightcap afterwards. Marcella's pizza crust clearly reflects passion and time invested, as it possesses a wonderfully balanced soft yet chewy texture. BF and I got the specialty white pizza with truffles, which was quickly prepared and full of umami. Hope this pop up gets a more permanent location soon! .
Their fall menu is here and it's full of cozy flavors! I asked which drinks were most popular, and the barista mentioned the carrot cake, maple rosemary, and banana bread cold brew. I went with the banana bread one - and wow, forgot how much I love cold brew! This one was so good. Just make sure to ask about the sweetness level! It was a bit on the sweeter side for me, but the barista was super nice and adjusted it - really appreciated that. Only small downside was that they didn't have pastries this time, but still such a great visit overall. Definitely coming back to try the other fall drinks next!
Second time here and it's quieter than a church inside. Nice big couches to sink into and plenty of table space. Good place to set up and study it work while getting medicinally caffeinated. Staff was really nice - gentleman behind the counter took the time to explain the Latte selection and syrups -- then we ordered Americanos. He had a good laugh at that.
I came here on a Saturday and the day of their matcha launch party to celebrate their new matcha vendor "blue matcha company" so there were some other small business vendors doing pop ups and a DJ later in the day but it still wasn't too busy thankfully! I got their Hawaiian matcha, the macadamia coconut flavor profile was really good but I could barely taste the matcha so it was a little disappointing, I could tell instantly by the color of it when I picked it up at the counter that I probably wasn't going to be able to taste the matcha bc it was such a light green like mostly milk w a little hint of matcha flavor instead of that darker/richer green color indicative of a heavier matcha profile. I really wish I had been able to taste the matcha more since I wanted to be able to taste it to see if I wanted to buy a tin! The "best friends bagel" pop up they had was SO GOOD though! If they had these bagels all the time I would definitely be a frequent customer bc the jalapeño cheese and the ube sourdough bagels were hands down the best bagels I've ever had, I'm drooling thinking about them as I type this review. Based on their instagram it looks like they've done pop ups at moniker before so I'll definitely be on the lookout for if they pop up here again! There's plenty of seating and the space is actually pretty big and open with lots of light and fresh air! There was a short line when we were ordering but it went by fast and we got our drink p fast too! Overall, the matcha was a bit disappointing since I couldn't really taste the matcha but the overall flavors were good so I'm curious enough to come back and maybe try their coffee instead next time! And I would definitley come back if best friends bagels decided to pop up here again!

I've had a bad experience every time I've gone to their Liberty Station location. Or I just have the worst luck. Every time I order, they forget my drink. This has happened every time I've gone there where it's comical now. This location broke the curse hopefully. The vibes are cute and when we went on a weekend afternoon, people were set up with their laptops and headphones. One guy looked like he set up his own living station on the couch in the middle of the room, but you do you boo. Didn't have to wait long to order or get our drinks. Highly recommend the Hawaiian Matcha and the Vanilla Mint Cold Brew. First time ordering the cold brew and I think about it at least a few times a week. There's a few spots on their outdoor patio if you want sunshine. They are doing construction next door, so just bring your headphones just in case there's lots of noise. read more
Really nice coffee shop right off university. Definitely a great place to come get a little work done. Good mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Didnt try food this time but my Americano was pretty solid. Will come back to try more beverage and food. Parking is going to be street parking only and you'll have to find in the surrounding neighborhoods. read more

There was an event going on when we went so it was quite loud with the music system right at the front near where you order. The interior was actually quite spacious and it looked like it would a lovely area to come back to: for slow mornings, chatty conversations, solo, etc. They did have bins and metal utensils, so I wonder if they have "for here" cups as well! That would have been lovely! They have menus posted on laminated sheets that you can grab from the bar as you wait in line. I was swayed by Instagram and ordered the Iced Tiramisu Latte. The base was quite thin for a latte, it reminded me of a cold brew with a splash of milk. Personally this drink wasn't for me as it wasn't agreeing with my taste profile. It wasn't reminiscent of tiramisu as well-- only the crème with the cocoa powder but the latte wasn't sweetened with anything that made me think of lady fingers or tiramisu. I wouldn't get this drink again. Next time I'd get their salted caramel latte!! My brother got an Iced Hawaiian Latte, with oat milk. It was a bit loud, but she said the Hawaiian was macadamia and coconut...I think? My brother really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others. Overall, cute spot-- somewhat close to Holy Matcha. A little further away from other coffee spots but I'd recommend coming by and giving them a try on a regular day! read more

first time at the new Moniker in North Park and I had such a great visit. The staff is super friendly, we were able to find some seats to sit and hang out. The vibe and aesthetic is very calming and very open space. I tried the Hawaiian latte with oat milk, and it was delicious! If you know North Park, you know you have to find street parking and on the weekends I can obviously get very busy so go at a early time if possible. read more
It's so nice to see the Moniker heading out east with this new location in North Park, San Diego. I visited their Liberty Station location many times and learned that they offer a great product. The location is quite spacious inside and they also offer a small patio right in front. I had them make me a cortado with whole milk. I also had a slice of coffee cake. Both cost $10 and some change. The cortado was well made, except for a touch of sourness towards the ends, but I was very please that they not only served it in a proper Gibraltar glass but they also served with a side of carbonated water. Well done. The coffee cake was a winner! It was super moist and offered great flavor. The service was very good. The young lady who took my order had a good sense of humor, and the barista was up beat. Cool spot. read more

Grand opening, grand closing. Highly doubt this coffee shop is profitable and wouldn't be surprised to see it closing before summer kicks off. Non organic low quality coffee tastes moldy and was served cold which makes sense with the health code violation. If you want to study with the homeless homies scattered all around d the shop, give it a shot. read more

The first time I went here, they didn't have some food ingredients so they couldn't make a few items. However, the coffee was good. Second time I went here, I ordered the oatmeal + fruit and an iced pumpkin pie latte. The latte was okay, I was expecting more of a pumpkin flavor instead of it kind of just being in the background. Now, the oatmeal - it was inedible. It seems like they didn't add hot enough water to it so I just had oats swimming in water. read more
Street parking only. There are some paid lots nearby. It is really, really hard to find parking. You will most likely walk 3-4 blocks. They have seating inside and outside. Order at register and pick up from counter near the back corner. Tried: Tiramisu - They ran out of the cream so they gave us whipped cream instead which was disappointing. Hawaiian - good but too sweet and very milky tasting even after asking for it to be half sweet. I like their Liberty Station spot better. read more

We loved checking out Moniker General's newest location in North Park! They just opened their doors and are serving coffee, tea, and pastries. They'll be rolling out a food menu too soon! Similar to their Point Loma location, there's ample space for seating which is great to grab coffee with friends or to work or read. There's a combination of tables and chairs as well as a cozy couch. You could even enjoy sitting outside on their patio. Everyone serving us was super friendly and the service was very quick for our coffees. We always enjoy grabbing cold brews from Moniker and look forward to visiting their new place again soon! read more

First time trying this coffee shop at Point Loma location and had tiramisu latte and I loved it that I had to take my husband the next time. Today, I came with my husband but in this location (University Ave) since it was closer to us. No one was in the counter but it didn't take long for them to come from the back. Anyway, our tiramisu lattes looked good but lighter compared to PL's. The cream was very nice but the coffee and sweetness was not there. Just bland, tasted like it was just all milk and had a lil watered down texture. We could only take a few sips that we just threw them away. Rating 2 only because of the cream. read more

I ordered the tiramisu latte and my sister ordered the tiramisu matcha. The tiramisu cold foam was good, sweet and creamy! As someone who likes sweet coffee, the drink was a bit bitter for me but I still enjoyed it when the foam mixed in. The interior is open air and spacious with plenty of indoor seating. I was there around noon on a Monday but every table was full. Seems like a good spot to study or hang out! Service was friendly and quick. I would come back if I'm in the area. read more

I ordered a matcha latte with tiramisu foam and my sister got the tiramisu latte. The matcha itself wasn't sweet enough for my taste so I had to add more sugar, but the foam was sweet and creamy! Decently priced at $6.75. Service was friendly and there's lots of seating indoors, though it was pretty full! Luckily found street parking nearby read more

First time coming here and definitely won't be the last. The barista recommended the Hawaiian Latte and it was incredible. Coconut and macadamia--brilliant. Ambiance is great; I was looking for a bright cafe with lots of light which is surprisingly hard to find. This place nailed it. read more

I came to the soft opening on February 4th. I like their menu. I had the vanilla mint cold brew . There is cozy seating and a few outdoor tables. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I recommend this spot and wish it was closer to me. read more

Moniker Coffee Company did not disappoint. I got the hot salted caramel latte and it was sooooo good--rich, smooth, and just the right touch of salty-sweet. My daughter got the cold Hawaiian latte and really enjoyed it. Perfectly sweet and super refreshing--she loved every sip. The vibe is laid-back and stylish, and the staff was friendly and efficient. We'll be back. read more
