I stopped in the Pink Rose for a coffee. I had a cortado and a plain buttered croissant. The croissant is not on the menu but part of a breakfast croissant on the menu. The young lady at the counter said it was alright just to pay for a plain croissant. The cortado was good, but not as traditional given it was a little heavy on the foam, but tasty and smooth to drink. The croissant was nicely heated and tasted very good. It had a light crisp exterior and soft center. The young lady at the counter offered very good hospitality and conversation. She was super nice. The service was good, too. The items came out rather quickly. By the way, there's a lot of pink here. Including pink mini doughnuts and pink plates, salt & pepper shakers, napkins, merch, and a pink scooter! Pink is definitely the theme.

Another predominantly pink colored business has set up shop in the SD area. Pink Rose Cafe recently opened in a corner suite of the Hillcrest neighborhood that housed a previous cafe and before that a longtime Starbucks store. You can use the pay parking lot of the former Rite Aid across the street or try your luck with the metered curbside parking spots. Nearly everything inside was a shade of pastel pink. There were neon pink signs, various pink floral arrangements, pink balloons, pink chairs and bench seats, and even a pink colored menu sheet. The seating capacity was sufficient for about a couple of dozen customers. Drinks and ice cream desserts made up one side of the menu. Over a dozen food choices comprised the other side of the menu. At the service counter, there was a small sign that advertised a Tres Leches Muffin. I ordered that and a namesake Pink Rose Lemonade. The Tres Leches Muffin was made by drenching a yellow cake muffin with sweetened (evaporated) milk and topped with Biscoff cookies. I didn't find it to be particularly sweet while the muffin made it a dense item. The drink consisted of lemon juice mixed with rose water. It was pricey at $7.25 for the 16 oz serving size. The ladies who staffed the counter were alright as they seemed to be distracted and not as interactive as I would have expected for a new business.

Pink Rose Cafe on Fifth & Robinson

Pink Rose Cafe on Fifth and Robinson in Hillcrest currently takes the space previously held by Amore cafe. Across the street at the former RiteAid lot is pay to park. This cafe was decorated with lots of faux roses throughout: lighting, walls and tabletop all roses overload. There's pay pink scooters and pink vintage phone with neon lights all make for great photo ops. Seating inside of Tufted banquet and outdoor with umbrellas all nice touches. The horrible background music playing which was not conducive to the ambiance might make a difference to making the vibe better. Service by the female staffer was informative, accommodating and nice. It was by late in the day so the pastries left were mini pink cake donuts which I passed on. From the drinks menu, the signature iced matcha latte topped with rose cream foam was a my custom pick. I'm not a big fan of floral flavors but this looked and tasted fantastic. With the exception of the irritating background music, other customers and I left asap, could have had a lovely longer stay at Pink Rose Cafe. Recommend

Such a cute little coffee shop, located in Hillcrest. You have to utilize Street parking or one of the Lots nearby, there seem to be quite a few so not too hard to find depending what time you go. We stopped here after lunch to get a drink and check the place out. Definitely a girly girl place, completely pink inside, with flowers and photo ops including a Vespa. We ordered a pistachio latte and the churro mocha. The pistachio latte definitely tasted like pistachio, and wasn't too sweet. The churro mocha drink was unfortunately not what I hoped. It tasted good, but nothing like a churro, and it was pretty sweet. This was just how it came, we didn't ask for any added sugar or anything. As I said it was still a good drink just not what I expected. I was thinking there would be a cinnamony flavor, and not as sweet as it was. You can get hot or iced, and we got ours both iced. The server was very nice, and it wasn't too busy inside and seating seem to be plentiful. They had drinks, food, and different desserts on the menu. I would like to go back and give something else a try. If you are in the area, or live nearby, I would definitely go take a peek and get some cute photos and a drink to see what you think.

Must do before you enter the restroom.

Such a cute place! Went in for lunch and was surprised how pink and fun this is. I was greeted by a young lady with I believe the owner putting up some decorations. I order the lavender matcha once and avocado toast. So good! One thing is that the toast was thin and very difficult to cut- but I used my muscles because it looked so good. And it was. A place to visit again next time I'm down in Hillcrest.

Cute cafe that just opened up in Hillcrest, we had a Cappuccino that was delicious. Love the pink decor and the flowers. Going to come back with my girlfriends to have some wine and Aperol Spritzers and some appetizers. Ambiance - 5* Drinks - 5* Location - 5*

It looks like this is the same owner as the Pink Café in La Mesa. The café is fairly new and has taken over the space where Starbucks used to be. I came by pretty early on a weekend, so it was still nice and quiet. I ordered a latte, which was good, although I was a little disappointed that they don't offer "for here" cups. The café itself is very cute and everything feels brand new, with different shades of pink. One thing that surprised me was that a few of the tables were dirty and hadn't been wiped down, even though it was early and the café wasn't busy yet. Other than that, the staff was friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my latte and liked the atmosphere, but I do think most of the food items are on the pricier side.

We wandered in here on a whim. Literally, the best vanilla latte I have ever had! Everyone felt that way about their drinks and the food, oh my goodness! The banana/strawberry Nutella crêpe is amazing. The ambience is so cute and the dishes are so unique, they add to the experience. So happy we found this place!

My sister and I came here for a sister date and it was so relaxing . The food was incredible and the drinks were phenomenal! The owner is the sweetest and it has places to take pics ! I had the Churro White Mocha and the Pink Strawberry Waffles. My sister had the Pretty in Pink Bowl and the Pink Blush Lemonade. On the way out we took a Unicorn Lemonade for a friend . Everything was amazing ! I can't wait to come back with our other sisters

My favorite pink cafe has opened its second location! The matchas never disappoints. And if you're a pink girlie like me the vibes are always immaculate.

Hawaiian coconut iced latte

Cute corner coffee shop! It was a Starbucks and a different coffee shop before too but I think this one is so cute the design and branding is really nice and cute and it brightened my day! I got the Nutella waffles. Currently waiting for those and sipping on my coconut iced latte so yummy ! I'm a fiend for coconut thanks pink rose cafe! The girl helping me was very sweet and cleaning too while on her free time not helping anyone so sweet!

I travel on a regular basis. And when I do, my preference is to stay at a Marriott-owned hotel,…read moremostly because I can almost always count on my following top-five priorities being met: * Cleanliness: The rooms and common areas are almost always very clean. * Safety: Entry into the rooms is almost always via an indoor hallway, where entry is obtained through the front lobby or by key-card access into one of the main hallways. * Quietness: Whether I'm traveling for work or for pleasure, I like to feel well-rested for a better day afterwards. And, these hotels are usually pretty quiet. * Free perks: As an elite member of this hotel chain, most of the time I get free perks during every stay. These are usually simple (like free bottled water), but they're appreciated. * A good membership program: Marriott offers a very good membership program for their elite members. It gives me the ability to earn free stays for the future (for pleasure) by choosing to stay here for business. Within the Marriott chain of hotels, Fairfield is one of my favorites because the rooms most often have: * A comfortable living and work space * A good sized TV * A mini refrigerator * A microwave * A well supplied free continental breakfast * All-day free coffee available in the lobby Now, on to the details for my stay at this particular hotel, at the Fairfield by Marriott (in Old Town San Diego, California). The primary reason I came here was for a week-long business trip, but I also decided to have a lot of fun while I was here as well. For this reason, I came here with my daughter; I worked during the days, but then we packed the evenings with lots of fun activities. The pros: Every member of the staff here was friendly and professional throughout our stay here. I found the hotel to feel more homey than a typical hotel; it appeared to be a hotel that was originally constructed as a townhouse complex or an apartment complex, and then converted into a hotel. It was very pleasant. The all-day free coffee was excellent, as was the free continental breakfast. Our hotel room was very clean and fully supplied with what I would expect from any other Fairfield by Marriott. The cons: Even though I am an elite member of Marriott, I did not receive any free perks, like free bottled water, during my stay here. But this was only a minor annoyance. One thing that was a major annoyance was the parking structure, which was not sufficient for the number of customers here. The parking spots are incredibly tight spots to park in and there are not enough of them, which is the hotel's fault. To make matters even worse, several people who parked here during my stay felt incredibly entitled, with several of them taking two parking spots for their precious car. This is obviously the fault of the self-centered customers who did this while they were here. Their actions were really inconsiderate of others, especially when there aren't enough parking spots to begin with. I believe the owners/management should correct the parking problem for their customers in three ways: (1) they should increase the size of the parking spots, (2) they should increase the number of parking spots, and (3) they should allow the police to give parking tickets to the self-centered people who can't park legally. So overall, if it wasn't for the annoying parking situation, this hotel would easily be a 5-star worthy location with how nice it was here. Therefore, based on my experience, I am rating this hotel as "very good" (4-stars), but not excellent. If the owners/management put in a little effort to correct a couple of things, this hotel could easily become a 5-star worthy location.

Overall, our stay was decent. The breakfast area and lobby were nice, clean, and well maintained…read more The pool was also enjoyable and kept very clean. However, the room felt tight for our family of four. There was only one small table and not enough counter space for everyone's belongings. The property is older and could use some updates and TLC. Parking is underground and may be challenging for larger vehicles. We have a Yukon, and there were only about three or four spaces that could comfortably accommodate larger SUVs or trucks. There are also low pipes throughout the parking garage ceiling, so drivers need to be very careful to avoid damaging their vehicles or the pipes.

My daughter found us seats under the pergola covered in lovely greenery. It's counter service, so you order at the bar and they give you a number for your table. There were two ladies working behind the bar area, but it took a while before we were acknowledged. We finally placed our order of a pretzel, truffle fries and chicken bacon flatbread. Our food also took a good while to come out. There was only one server and two other occupied tables. While we waited, there was a man playing acoustic guitar, which was a nice touch and added to the atmosphere. The food was pretty tasty. We especially like the chicken and bacon flatbread. Since we were sharing everything, we would have appreciated some plates, but none were provided so we ended up using our napkins as plates. My daughter did make a valid observation about the pretzel: "such a giant pretzel for them to only give us one tiny cheese and nothing else, not even mustard". Unfortunately, the one thing that really spoiled the experience for me was when what appeared to be a termite fell onto our table and landed right on the corner of my flatbread. A few moments later, another one fell onto the table. At this point my son announced, "it's raining termites". Needless to say, this definitely ruined our appetite. I honestly regret not taking a picture because I was just so thrown off when it happened. Even though the setting was lovely, the music was a nice touch and the food was tasty, the slow service, lack of plates and falling termites, the experience fell short.
