Nice place with good atmosphere and friendly staff. The mango sorbet was very tasty and my friend liked the pistachio gelato. Next time I plan on trying a crepe

Service was great. The ice cream was delicious. The tiramisu and fruit cake were just okay. However, the chocolate marquise was fantastic. Highly recommend that if you like chocolate.

An's Dry Cleaners lines remain notorious so my friend recommended this spot. AMBIANCE: Parking: Street parking, some metered, some not. Seating: Inside seating, good for small groups, individuals, and pairs. Room for about 20 people. Vibes: Welcome to the gayborhood. Inside, the vibe is cozy yet modern--comfort meets artisanal. There's plenty of seating, soft lighting, and a mix of locals and dessert-lovers unwinding. The scent of gelato and freshly made pastries fills the air which makes you want to say "yaaaaas" FOOD/DRINKS: Honey Lavender (Recommend) Smoooth. A lite floral feel that's subtle, elegant and soothing. Hazelnut Cremino (Recommend) You got to love that chocolate hazelnut taste. Creamy and sweet. I think the hazelnut and lavender gave it a good balance. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Friendly and quick service. Brian was great! TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. Good flavors, selections, all at a reasonable price. Figaro Dessert Café brings creative, high-quality desserts to San Diego. The gelato stood out for flavor, texture, and presentation. If you're in the mood for something special (and dessert-focused) in North Park, this place is a strong call. I'll definitely be back to try more of their flavor lineup. TIPS: * Go with friends so you can share multiple desserts and sample more flavors.

Located right in the heart of Univ Ave, Hillcrest, this dessert cafe has a wide variety of deliciousness to choose from. They def have a lot of GF options on the baked goods and Vegan sorbet options on the gelato side! They also have yummy crepes which we are looking forward to try next time, as well as their hot chocolate! Bookmarked!

So good. So yummy. We stopped in for a crepe and a key lime cheesecake slice. Both were amazing and the staff was super friendly.

Pro-tip: They are one of the dessert places that open pretty late so it's a great option. Only a street parking available. Highlights: I was pleasantly surprised by the passionfruit tart. I thought the flavor was not too sweet or too tangy but just right and the tart crust was really crispy and yummy. Lowlights: I do think it's a bit overpriced especially for the size. It's a bit odd to me how they still have such a huge selection even just 30 minutes until close. It makes me wonder how fresh the desserts are.

Hmm not really sure what happened to the quality of service at this place but the two guys today really couldn't get it together. We LOVE the desserts here but somehow the two guys working today just didn't know what they were doing. Boxed up our desserts, left them on the counter and continued to serve other people coming in. Then one asked the other "bro, whose are these?" And the other had no idea until we spoke up. Honestly, wtf. Order on DoorDash. Probs a better experience than coming in person.

Sometimes dessert is a work of art, sometimes it's just something yummy to satisfy a sweet tooth. This visit proved to be more on the artistic side than just sweet. Everything in the display case is absolutely beautiful and I wish I had time and physical capacity to try them all. But alas, I have my limits and had to stick with what I came for-the crepe. The nice man behind the counter whipped up a couple of delicious crepes for us-I had the banana, strawberry and Nutella and my wife had a cheesecake something or other. They were both sooo good and plenty large to share. I should have stopped halfway through, but I pushed myself to finish it. The whole thing. Yup, I ate it all. This cafe is beautiful, clean and a little dark. I know it's probably mood lighting, but would have loved just a touch more light. However, as we got used to it, we settled in and enjoyed our mid-morning indulgence. I'll definitely be back to try some of those beauties in the display case.

Fígaro, one of my favorite sweet treat spots in north park. I'm always guaranteed something yummy. Either gelato or a crepe or a chocolate marquis, there's so much to choose from and you can't go wrong with anything you choose. The store is always clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful :)

Inside was nicely organized and decorated. Gave a good vibe. Desserts were on display and all looked amazing! The server was helpful and kind. Food was amazing! Desserts were flavorful and not too sweet.

Lovely coffee shop and ice cream too. Stopped by for a bite to eat and some coffee. Coffee was amazing and their crepes are yummy. Lovely ambiance and great service. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by and try this lovely place. You won't be disappointed. Happy coffee time.

We've been in several times. The employees are nice and welcoming. Lots of gelato flavors and cakes, brownies etc. The chairs are comfy, the wooden tables are cool and the vibe is nice.

Even though I've been here with my partner dozens of times (it's a close by late evening high quality gelato shop) I'm realizing I only have this one photo. I guess phone doesn't always eat first- that's the case here! These gelato flavors are too delicious to not eat right away. My go-to's are: tiramisu, stracciatella, hazelnut cremino, and chai. All so delectable. Not even to mention they have a full espresso bar, (which I have yet to try), as well as a selection of desserts in a display case near the register. These desserts look and taste pristine, they're the original reason we came to try this shop in the first place. The workers are always kind, there's plenty of seating and space on the inside, and they're open til 11pm!

Mango and coconut? Say less…read more This was such a refreshing dessert especially on a hot day. I loved the incorporation of all the parts of a coconut in one dessert. It was so yummy and pleasing to the eye. Service was quick and accommodating when ordering (since it was my first time). It's extra pretty if you add toppings like their super sweet mango. All of the scoops of ice cream were on the icier side but flavorful. Coconut was sweet and fantastically refreshing, while the taro was a bit more subtle but nutty and enjoyable. The vanilla was an old fashioned vanilla which was creamier than the other flavors but still definitely a bit icy. I would just get 3 scoops of coconut next time! The added mango on top was super sweet and soft, which contrasted drastically the meaty texture and very subdued flavor of the coconut pieces (maybe shouldn't have eaten it after that sweet mango!). They also have some unique Thai flavors of Lay's chips + special desserts (mango sticky rice, coconut pancakes, coconut pudding, etc.). I'd return for some more coconut ice cream and to try those special desserts! There are a few tables inside and more ornately decorated tables outside. No restrooms. Service was friendly. Fun little place to try new desserts, for a cute quick date, or grab and go for treats :)

They have pastries, teas, coffee, etc. After a hike, I wanted something refreshing and so I got a 12 oz of one of their teas-- Lavender Hibiscus. It is a very small coffee shop that is really just a counter area without seating. When I walked up, there was one staff member working. He was friendly. They had a small menu of specialty coffee drinks listed for the holidays. It appears that they serve wine as well, as there was a list of wines by the glass on the same menu. I decided on the iced pistachio latte, as I absolutely love pistachio, and it was a bit of a warm day. I asked for nonfat milk, which is getting harder to come by at small coffee shops, so I was glad they could accommodate. I waited a couple minutes, as the staff had to leave to go get my requested nonfat milk from what appears to be a larger storage area. There are not seats in Coffee Culture, however, the small seating in the public market is quite cute and there was plenty of seating near the fountain. My drink was, unfortunately, just OK. It was a typical iced latte. It was slightly sweet and had no pistachio flavor at all. I'm guessing it was made with a simple pistachio syrup, and no real pistachio. I was a bit disappointed. If I were shopping in Old Town, I might stop in Coffee Culture for a quick coffee to go, but I would't order anything too fancy.
