Man this place sure knows how to make their scones. I got the raspberry almond scone, which had a strong raspberry flavor throughout it with some almonds scattered on the inside for an extra crunch. I think I finished it in 2 minutes because it was so good. They had a quite a line but the workers seemed to know what they're doing because I definitely waited less than 10 minutes for my drink. There's not much to sit on around there besides the stones, but they're still pretty comfortable. The drink was good, but my problem is it didn't seem to match its description very well. I ordered the Banana Pudding Best Drink Ever. So obviously I expected strong banana flavor and pudding flavor. I did have high expectations when it came out with a cute wafer cookie on top. But when I took a sip, I didn't taste any banana or pudding flavors, just like a regular sweet latte. I thought maybe I just needed to mix the top foam to get that. Even after I removed the top and mixed the drink, the second attempt was still missing banana and pudding flavor. The drink is still good and I enjoyed it, but it didn't match the name. I'd probably get a different drink if I go back. read more

Ordering online was great because it shortens the wait time. Fashion Valley tends to be a lot busier. It has been awhile but I ordered a Horchata Latte - which has been my favorite the last couple times I ordered but today it was NOT GOOD. I wish I took a picture before I started drinking it. I found an old picture from another poster and the ratio of coffee to Horchata has completely changed. Mine barely had any horchata in it and it tasted wrong. I still have most of the drink so I'll post what it looks like after a few sips. There is no horchata. The first thing I did was stir it to see if it would make it look more normal at least. Unfortunately I figured this out way too late. I found pics of other Horchata Lattes and mine definitely does not have the same ratio of Horchata. This location is a walk up looking opening next to Urban Outfitters. It just makes it a little awkward because it's in the path to Urban Outfitters for those who are trying to walk to the store. read more

I love going to the BB in Hillcrest, where I always get the Cinnamon Pistachio BDE. So imagine my surprise when I ordered one at this location and it didn't have the critical crowning touch: pistachio pieces on top. I asked and they said they were out. Today I stopped by Better Buzz Fashion Valley downstairs location to grab my daily Life's Better Buzzed energy drink and had such a great experience! Priscilla was so kind and helpful and helped me pick out a new flavor to try. The café was super clean, the service was prompt, and every staff member greeted me when I walked in. I was on a quick 10-minute break, so I really appreciated how quickly I was able to get in, grab my drink, and get back to my day. I'm so happy to see more Better Buzz locations popping up around San Diego, but Fashion Valley has definitely become my favorite. Better Buzz is pretty good! So good I wished they had more locations. When I looked it up, I saw Hillcrest, Pacific Beach (PB), Mission Gorge, and Mission Valley (MV) were close to me. The closest to my home is the MV location, and that one literally located inside Fashion Valley Mall. I have visited at least a handful of times, and taste-wise they are consistent with how they make their drinks. I really enjoy their Coconut Buzz... and that's saying a lot because I'm not a huge coconut fan. Something about the flavor profile just makes it work and it tastes really good! I actually find myself craving it every so often. Let me just say, if you are coming here during peak hours (like on a busy weekend) then parking is going to be a hassle and there will likely be a very long line. To bypass the line, is recommend ordering online and once you park and walk up, your coffee will probably be ready. I have come here on a weekend and have seen probably 30+ people in line! I walked up, saw the line from a good distance (stretching near the escalator) and I was like, "Nope." I turned around and came back another time. Ordering online is a good way to bypass the line. If I know I'm heading there, I order online, park, walk up, and my drink is ready when I get to the counter. I'm going to try one of their more popular drinks called, "Best Drink Ever" (BDE). To call it BDE, it's gotta be good, right? It's the mall and parking can get crazy. I usually find parking near the west side of the shopping center near JC Penny either in the structure or south near the escape room business. There are places nearby to sit and overall it tends to be clean. Or you can walk upstairs to the tables near the food court. Another option would be to walk around the mall and enjoy your coffee. This was the newer location in the food court plaza that took over the Starbucks. This location seemed a lot less busy and the service seemed faster than the main one on the first floor. I got the Best Drink Ever with half sweetness. I like that I can get less sweet now but I didn't really taste the coffee as much. It tasted like slightly sweet water and milk unfortunately. I wish the coffee flavor was a bit stronger but it does the trick when I just need some caffeine. Better Buzz is also the main coffee shop in this shopping center so it'll have to do. This was the worst Better Buzz location I've experienced. The mobile order was marked as ready, but when I arrived to pick it up, I was initially told it was upstairs. It later turned out the order was actually on the lower level where I was standing the entire time. I received one drink, then waited an additional 15 minutes for the second. There was significant confusion among staff, with more people waiting at pickup than ordering, and overall the process felt very disorganized. I understand it's the holiday season, but this level of disarray was noticeably worse than at other locations. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience. read more

Every time I'm in Southern California I make sure to stop at a better buzz location. This time I visited one that was inside a mall, as it was the only option nearby that was open early enough on a Sunday morning. It was a little difficult to find given the GPS directions, and the fact that no other stores were open, but there was enough other foot traffic making its way to the spot that I was able to find it. I was a little disappointed to see that this was just a window counter service area, and not a restaurant so their options were very limited. However, I got my Horchata latte and it was exactly what I needed to get my day going. Better buzz has some tasty options that I always enjoy trying as treats when I'm in the area. read more

I went and tried this place for the first time. It was amaaaaaaazzzinggg I got the banana pudding drink, it's an americano drink. The coffee is not super strong, the drink isn't super sweet. (Which is a good thing, it was balanced perfectly). I'm not a fan of sweets so this was the perfect balance of coffee and sweet The only thing I will say is that it barely tastes like banana, the nilla cookie is the only part that has a strong banana flavor The service was fast, decent speed for being located in a designer outlet. Nice area, regular looking coffee place. I did get it again the next day but at a different location. My reasoning for it not being a 5 star is because the drink didn't really taste like banana. I gave this location multiple chances, but the customer service from the older woman with the orange hair has been consistently rude. She really needs to reconsider whether customer service is the right fit for her. Every interaction feels like you're inconveniencing her just by placing an order. No customer wants to feel like they're a bother when they're spending their money. The drinks are ok, but the experience is ruined by the attitude. There are plenty of coffee shops where customers are treated with basic kindness and respect, so I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Hard to find good coffee shops in this area. This one was open at 7 AM in the mall super friendly staff reasonably price for a trip. Only downside was that they couldn't do a flat white so instead got a drip and one of their blended iced coffees, pretty reasonable decent value. read more

Best Coffee Ever Drink is delicious! Warning... there can be long lines and long waits here. Also, make sure to check the pick up area for your drink. Workers are friendly. There are tables to sit at in surrounding area if they are not taken. Coffee is kind of pricey but tastes better than Starbucks IMO. read more
