Mango and coconut? Say less. This was such a refreshing dessert especially on a hot day. I loved the incorporation of all the parts of a coconut in one dessert. It was so yummy and pleasing to the eye. Service was quick and accommodating when ordering (since it was my first time). It's a pretty small area but still with seats in almost every corner as well as outdoors! Definitely a try if you pass by! read more

Cute little spot serving refreshing treats! The highlight for me was their coconut ice cream. The sundae is really cute and is essentially 3 scoops of ice cream + some coconut meat slices. It's extra pretty if you add toppings like their super sweet mango. All of the scoops of ice cream were on the icier side but flavorful. Coconut was sweet and fantastically refreshing, while the taro was a bit more subtle but nutty and enjoyable. The vanilla was an old fashioned vanilla which was creamier than the other flavors but still definitely a bit icy. I would just get 3 scoops of coconut next time! The added mango on top was super sweet and soft, which contrasted drastically the meaty texture and very subdued flavor of the coconut pieces (maybe shouldn't have eaten it after that sweet mango!). They also have some unique Thai flavors of Lay's chips + special desserts (mango sticky rice, coconut pancakes, coconut pudding, etc.). I'd return for some more coconut ice cream and to try those special desserts! There are a few tables inside and more ornately decorated tables outside. No restrooms. Service was friendly. Fun little place to try new desserts, for a cute quick date, or grab and go for treats :) read more

Parking is very tight and limited here. You can park on the right side where it says "30 mins," other than that I've seen other people park at the convenience store next door. Inside is very small, about 5 tables. Outside about a few. So, we placed an order for Thai iced tea, mango with sticky rice, and coconut sundae. We were lucky enough to find a table inside. The rush slowed down after 6:30 pm on a Saturday. Service was very friendly and they worked efficiently. Prices were fair. -Thai iced tea 5 - probably one of the best ones I've ever had. I recommend getting one with your dessert. -mango with sticky rice 5 - I love how bountiful the mangos are, usually I don't get this much. Mangos were sweet and the rice was good. -coconut sundae 5 - this was really good. We picked ube, coconut, and pandan. My favorite one was pandan. Ube has a more subtle flavor whereas the coconut and pandan have a stronger taste. read more

Found out about Coco Bomb from the Hillcrest farmers market and wanted to visit their storefront to try other ice cream flavors! Service is quick and friendly. Sizable amount of seating available to enjoy your desserts. Make sure to account for the lack of parking provided. I got the coconut sundae with Thai tea, pandan, and mango icecream -- such a generous portion of fresh coconut, fruit, and coconut icecream. Highly recommend pandan flavor but all flavors are done really well. The sundae also comes with mango and coconut slices. read more

This place is a small dessert place. They have several tables inside and several seats on the outside. There is also limited parking on the side street. We ordered the Coconut Sundae, Mango Sticky Rice, and Thai Tea. My boyfriend wanted to try their pudding, but they were sold out. They were also out of mango-flavor ice cream. You can pick three different flavors of ice cream for the sundae. I pick Ube, Coconut, and Thai Pandan ice cream. The coconut sundae was really good. The flavors were tasty and not too sweet. For the topping, I pick mango with condensed milk. The mango was fresh and sweet. Portion for the mango sticky rice was pretty big. It didn't take too long for the order to be ready. The staff was nice. This place is worth trying if you like mango and coconut desserts. It is too bad we don't live in San Diego. I would definitely go back to try other items on their menu. read more

How cute is this place? It's very small so it's more of a take and to go. The parking was nonexistent so beware of that overall I love the coconut and the mango ice cream. The pandan ice cream was a bit bitter. I love the fresh mango and the fresh coconut on the side as well. read more

Coconut Sundae w/ 3 scoops (thai tea, thai pandan, mango). Love the coconut & mango slices so much. The ice cream flavors were also spot on! The only thing I don't like is how the ice cream is not creamy. It's very much on the icy side. The thai tea ice cream was the worst because I had to jam into it and break it apart with my spork. I'd still come back though; the menu is wide and I'd want to try other things! read more

I've been wanting to try this place for so long and it was so worth the wait. The ice cream flavors are so wonderful, I got mango, pandan and coconut. The pandan was surprisingly my favorite. The coconut was to die for as well. I got it with sticky rice (you must do this for the full experience). It was literally to die for and there's not many dessert places with this similar concept. My order came out super fast, the cashier was very sweet. There's not a lot of parking so just prepare for that. The ambiance was nice and peaceful. The place was quant and small but it fit the vibe. Definitely a mom and pop shop with authentic flavors. I will be going back many many many times. I loved it here. 10/10. read more

not the best picture but the dessert was the BOMB. the location was very small inside and out. we got our order pretty quickly though. i got the pandan and coconut ice cream. my boyfriend is a huge fan of pandan and it was his first time trying that flavor (in general). the toppings i got were the jackfruit and mango & sticky rice with a drizzle of condensed milk. i got the sticky rice too because my boyfriend has never tried it and we didn't want to get a separate order of sticky rice. they sell the sundaes that they put in an actual coconut but we were too full to get three scoops of ice cream. i will definitely be bringing my family here to try this because i know they'll love it read more

the mango with sticky rice was good. noy too sweet and i enjoyed the texture of the rice and mango. the coconut smoothie was very subtle in flavor so when i got a good hot of coconut flavor that was nice. the coconut pancake was interesting. chewy texture and subtle coconut flavor, not at all too sweet. the service was excellent as soon as i walked in the door. it smelled very good inside and the ambiance was chill and refreshing. read more

Super fast service and their icecream is sooo good! My favorite flavor was the coconut which I was surprised about since I usually don't like coconut. Their sticky rice was also perfectly sweet and paired really well with everything. I also liked how they decorated the outdoor seating, giving it a tropical vibe. Finally got to try this place and I was super impressed!! Love me a good Asian sweet treat- Ordered the mango sticky rice and it comes with a generous portion- the mangoes were sweet and the sticky rice was cooked to perfection! Their Thai pandan ice cream with coconut was also so so good. The coconut was super fresh and it came on a bed of Hawaiian bread on the bottom. Overall the flavors of everything went really well together and I think the prices were fair. The service was quick and they were really friendly - even let my dog sit inside with us since it was raining. It's in an unassuming plaza but there's plenty of parking. I got the coconut cake, Thai coconut jelly, mango sticky rice, ruam mit, and coconut pancakes. I enjoyed everything except the mango sticky rice. The mango-to-rice ratio is bad--hardly any mango and way too much rice. I kind of regret ordering that. Out of everything I ordered, I especially enjoyed the ruam mit. It's like a dessert drink and has a lot of toppings. It reminds me of Vietnamese chè thái. Everything else is good, but nothing really blew my mind. Now this is a niche place but it may be a niche you never knew you needed to try. I tried the sundae ($10), which is huge and can be split among 2-3 people. The coconut ice cream was so creamy and fresh. The ice cream, coupled with small pieces of coconut meat, ripe mango and sticky rice made a potent combination. The seating area is very small, but outside they have cute little tables decorated like a tropical jungle. The inside has an almost chemical smell to it though. My 3 year old literally covered her nose and said "smells bad" so we had to sit outside lol. read more

I love coconut flavored desserts, so I knew I had to come try this place out while I was in San Diego. We got the coconut sundae with their coconut and thai pandan ice cream. We also added the mango topping and the sticky rice, and when you pick up you're able to request a drizzle of condensed milk on top. The coconut sundae is perfect to share with another person. The ice cream was perfectly sweet, and our topping combo paired perfectly with them. I would definitely recommend adding the sticky rice! Service was extremely quick, and we ordered and got everything within 5 minutes. There's indoor and outdoor dining here, and when we came on a Sunday afternoon there was plenty. I've been on a Matcha kick and saw that they had a Matcha Latte. This small shop is located near the local vietnamese supermarket of Linda Vista which makes it convenient for future visits for me. The latte was not bad and the coconut flavor was unexpected since it wasn't in the name. However, I enjoyed it and finished the whole cup. The drink came out in a timely manner. The parking was a bit confusing as they are right next to a back road and it took me a moment to see the 30 minute parking on the side of the building, and the parking spots to the right of that. Finding a spot was not difficult at all once I adjusted. My only callout is I didn't feel very welcomed when I arrived. A greeting would have been nice? Anyways, not a huge deal and I am still interested in coming in one day specifically for their desserts. read more

I really need to try something different! But because of there funky hours I always rush to get here. So! when I get here I always want the coconut milkshake and the mango sticky rice! You think I can get that sticky rice anywhere, but for some reason I like it here. Not sure why. Mango...sticky rice and the sweet sauce. Go figure. BUT the coconut milkshake is delicious on a nice hot day! We come here to take it before we have to sit down and watch my sons games. CUTE decor inside. Just need more seating, but where! !!! The sticky mango rice here is ***tasty***! Perfectly ripe mango with super bold salted coconut flavoring in the rice. As a nitpick, the rice could've had a softer texture, but, really, if you check this place out the sticky mango rice is a must-order! Sooo, why the 3 stars? The Thai iced tea. Cloyingly sweet. Could drink only half of it before tapping out. I will say though that this review is specifically regarding the food stand at the Little Italy Mercato farmers' market, so perhaps the Thai iced tea might be prepared much better at the main brick-and-mortar location. So glad we have found this gem! Not many places in San Diego do Thai desserts, which we love, and they nailed both items that we got. The Ruam mit's flavors and components were delicious yet not too sweet at all. For the coconut sundae, you can choose up to three flavors for the ice cream and every single one was delicious. My most favorite would be the pandan though! I also love the addition of sweet mangoes on top. Overall loved our experience and these definitely hit the spot for us as it has been so hot in SD lately. Will definitely come back to try the other desserts. read more

The absolute refreshment I got from the coconut ice cream after a hot day in the sun! Perfection. As a coconut water (and coconut) fiend I just had to try this place! SUNDAE: $10 5/5 stars - I recommend the coconut ice cream or vanilla flavors. It's big enough to share. The mango slices on top just hit the spot and the coconut meat slices add lots of healthy fats. Plus the presentation makes it so fun. Worth the splurge. THAI TEA - 4.5/5 this was what you'd expect. Not watered down at all so perfect in case your life might melt a bit. ICED LATTE - 4/5 it was good but nothing special, I wouldn't go here just for coffee but it was nice that they had it since I needed some! The shop has a cool vibe inside with lots of decorations. There are a few rough edges here and there (including a loud squeaky toy that kids can play with) that kinda killed the ambiance. Service - order at the counter pretty standard affair. read more

I've been wanting to try this place and it did not disappoint! Cocobomb is located in the corner of a small strip mall. The inside is cozy with only a few tables and bar seating area. The space was filled with lots of greenery which was pretty cool. I tried the coconut sundae with coconut, mango, and pandan and ice cream. It had big chunks of coconut meat on the side and topped off with fresh mango and condensed milk. It was so good! I also got the coconut coffee which is coconut water and espresso. It was very refreshing. My husband got a coconut smoothie and it was delicious as well. If you're not feeling coconut they also offer some traditional coffee drinks. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and hope to visit again next time I'm craving a coconut dessert! read more

I can't stop thinking about that coconut sundae! I had mine with coconut, mango and Thai tea ice cream with coconut meat and condensed milk topping. It reminded me of the coconut sundae I had on the beaches of Boracay! Although I wasn't on the beach this time, their quaint garden patio was a perfect spot to immediately enjoy our desserts. The service was quick and friendly and I am eager to come back for more! The only suggestion I have is to skip the Thai tea ice cream. Service? Great! Ambience? Cute! Why just three stars? It just didn't hit for me. The presentation, the hype, the line out the door all screamed for excellence yet it left me wanting a bit more, strictly referring to the ice cream. Don't get me wrong, this hits on all levels, just not right down to the main player, the ice cream. It was good, yet left me wanting more. In the end I enjoyed it yet went to Sunday soon after to satisfy my cravings. Don't let this discourage you from going here. The ice cream market in San Diego is on a heightened level and this might be "the spot" for you. Unfortunately it just wasn't the place for me. read more

Holy crap. How do I give 6 stars? Or 10!? Coco bomb was the BOMB! The experience absolute BLEW my mind. The must order is the coconut sundae in which they have a fresh coconut (with the flesh conveniently shaved) with your choice of ice cream. We chose Pandan and Coconut and opted for the sticky rice add-on. It also comes with fresh mango and coconut sauce. This was essentially a Thai mango sticky rice gone NUCLEAR. First - the portion was so generous with berthing ERUPTING out of the coconut. The sticky rice, mango, and coconut sauce would've been a perfect mango sticky rice on its own. Together with the ice cream, it was an EXPLOSION of flavor. Particularly notable was the pandan ice cream. Pandan can be a challenging flavor to infuse but this ice cream was like biting into a BLAST of pandan delight. Everything together sent SHOCKWAVES down my spine! I cannot wait to return to try their other ice cream flavors. Do not skip out on this place! read more

Such a cute place to get delicious coconut forward desserts! They have coconut sundaes, coconut pancakes, coconut cakes, coconut pudding, coconut frozen blended drinks, etc! They seem to have rotating seasonal special menu items as well! We tried their coconut sundae which comes with three scoops of ice cream and your choice of toppings. Each additional topping is extra, but so worth it! Their ice cream flavors include coconut, vanilla, Thai pandan, mango. The coconut ice cream tasted amazing and fresh, not artificial! Their mango was also a palate cleanser with the perfect amount of sweet and tart. The Thai pandan ice cream was more subtle but a nice complement to the coconut ice cream. I chose mango and jackfruit as my toppings and both fruits were fresh and in season! It comes in a cute coconut with shavings of fresh coconut meat on the side and they drizzle condensed sweetened milk on top! We also tried their coconut cake which was fluffy, light, and had the perfect amount of sweetness! The cake comes with fresh whipped cream and shavings of coconut meat. Beware - parking is a bit of a nightmare AND they don't offer a lot of what they advertise... We wanted to order their Thai sandwiches that they had pictures of IN the store, but they didn't have them? Bummer. However, the coconut sundae with choosing your 3 flavors of ice cream with mango slices AND condensed milk is a dream! Very refreshing! Also got the pandan pudding - have yet to try, but I think it's a reasonable price. Ranging from $5-10 for most of their menu items! I will say it's pretty loud and a small space too. Staff can be kinda quiet - I wouldn't say they're very hospitable. But, would come again. read more

In comparison, Extraordinary Dessert cakes take 3-4 days to make, have 6-8 alternating layers, and are typically adorned with edible gold and/or flowers. The key is to find which items you like and which are okay to pass on next time. What we ried this time: -Match Misu Cake (7/10): ricotta cake layers soaked in matcha and layered with marscapone whipped cream. This one was pretty good and ranks in my middle to high range. I only wish there was more matcha flavor (maybe if you dine in and get the sauce, this would help) or the matcha was paired with another flavor ... either go fruity (maybe a raspberry sauce, strawberry pieces, white peach pieces, or like a peach oolong cream layer) or go chocolately/coffee (maybe had some crushed up chocolate covered espresso beans). My go to's: -Ivoire Royale (10/10) - my ultimate favorite still. If you like light desserts, white chocolate, berries, and moist vanilla cake, thus one is for you. Classy and unpretentious -Shangrila (10/10) - my other favorite and will make you feel like a princess with all the pink chocolate curls. A little bit adventurous and innocently elegant. Ones to skip: -Au Chocolate / La Bete Noire / Dame Chocolate - get the Viking instead. That's my favorite of all their chocolate cakes -Lemon ricotta - get the Passionfruit Ricotta instead -Torta misu - the matcha misu is better. She was at the register at 7:20pm and was extremely rude and dismissive after we placed our order, especially regarding a child's dietary restrictions and health concerns. We politely asked if it would be possible to purchase a small cup of fruit , even just a couple strawberries cut up, because one child in our group cannot have sweets due to very strict dietary restrictions . Instead of simply saying they were unable to accommodate the request or offering another option, we were told to "go somewhere else," despite already spending the amount we did . The complete lack of professionalism and basic customer service was honestly shocking. It's disappointing to be treated that way at a place we have supported so consistently. This place has been going downhill , management for this place needs to step up .
