I've been here once before with my daughter and recently revisited with a friend. For this visit, we shared a brick toast with strawberries, blueberries, and condensed milk added. It was absolutely delicious and was the perfect size for sharing! We ordered and paid at the self-serve kiosk. When the dessert was ready for pick up at the counter, they called our name. After we finished, we put the dirty dish in one bin and trash in another. There was a good number of tables, so perfect for a large group or a date.
This has been a staple asian dessert spot in my life since first moving to San Diego over 10 years ago. Quaint little cafe, with a pretty good amount of seating. Great for a late night hang for some sweets and boba. My absolute favorite and probably the most popular thing on the menu if I guessed is the honey toast. I don't know how they do it, but it's soft on the inside crispy on the inside. Perfect amount of sweetness. Love to get it with either condensed milk or nutella with some ice cream on top. Can't go wrong with coffee or green tea flavors. The milk teas are solid and the boba on the sweeter side which I prefer. Genuinely fairly lively too with people hanging out and playing games as such. It's a fun environment. Grab something sweet after dinner on convoy!
Up2You Cafe never misses! Everything we've tried here is consistently delicious. We actually shared one dessert between all of us and it was the perfect portion. We left satisfied without feeling overly stuffed. You absolutely have to try the Nutella, strawberry, and banana combo; it is so, so good

This place is a MUST when visiting San Diego! I've gone here several times over the years and I've always left happy. The desserts and the drinks are totally worth it. I usually get a crepe with strawberries, bananas, Nutella syrup and vanilla ice cream. It's such a popular combo that once you try it you'll see why! I've also had several lattes here and will continue to get more when I come down to visit. The service here is always consistently good - the workers are friendly, easy to get along with, and are great with recommendations. The ambiance of the cafe gives a cozy, welcoming feeling. It's not a chain so you know it's home cooked good. It also has the vibe when you first step inside that you know it'll be a good experience. My only gripe is that parking can be tricky. The roads here are also very rough so if you have low profile tires or a lowered car, it may not be the most comfortable trying to get parking. Also expect to park on the street and walk over a bit - but it's totally worth it for some delicious desserts!
My guy has been wanting to take me here for a while since he loves the brick toast. We were lucky to get a parking space because it is a very small lot. We built our own Brick Toast with Strawberries, Condensed Milk, Brownie Bites, and Black Sesame Ice Cream. While we waited for our order to be ready, we played one of the crane games, which had average prizes. Once we got our toast, we were pretty disappointed by the amount of brownie and strawberry they gave us and the fact that it wasn't even on the toast. They just put everything next to it on the plate. Horrible presentation! We also asked for no whipped cream and they added it anyways. Everything tasted good, but the texture of the ice cream was weird. Price is ridiculous for what you get. My guy was disappointed as well since it had been a long time since he had been here and he was expected much better. We decided that in the future, we would only buy the toast and do the add-ons ourselves at home. I would create a much better presentation than what we were served here.
Came in and you could either place your order via the kiosks, or in person. I did it via kiosk because I needed time to peruse the menu because everything was calling my name. What I got: Dubai Brick Toast ($18 Brick toast with pistachio cream and chocolate, fresh strawberry slices. Sprinkled with kataifi and pistachio bits and topped with whipped cream) So we all know that the Dubai chocolate trend is taking over, and honestly, this was a good take on it. I find that some Dubai chocolates cook the kataifi in a way where it is overly toasted so it gets hard -- Up2You doesn't do that, or maybe the added toppings softens it. Either way, I would get this again. It is definitely sharing size! There are a few parking spots available in front of the store. Inside there are plenty of seating available, and they have claw machines. I had a friend win a Labubu from here.
Love this place! I like to study here as there's a good amount of seating, plus they serve amazing desserts and drinks!

Sweet, creamy, a little fruity, and just indulgent enough without going overboard. Pure dessert bliss. Now, let's talk atmosphere. It's a cool, casual little spot with a cozy vibe. The staff isn't overly friendly, and yeah -- they can come off a bit moody -- but not rude or off-putting. Just kind of doing their thing, which is fine when the food speaks for itself. Overall, if you're into crepes, Asian-inspired desserts, or just want a chill place to satisfy your sugar cravings, Up2You Café has got you covered. I'll definitely be back to try more!
You can never go wrong by going to Up2You Cafe! It has been my staple pick me up cafe for over 10 years. While their menu does change, they always offer their best desserts/snacks/drinks. With their most recent update, ordering is done through their tablets at the counter and they do have more seating available which has helped keep up with their busy location. I always love their milk teas and I try to remember to lessen the sweetness level as they are always quite sweet. My go-tos are taro and brown sugar and then the lychee green tea for fruit teas. I usually order a variation of their lave toast and green tea ice cream. Any way it's ordered is fantastic honestly. Another few favorites of mine have been the Napoleon, chocolate sphere, and their creme brûlée! Creme brûlée is my favorite dessert of all time but their Napoleon would have to split that top spot. Recently, I had the honey toast with green tea ice cream and custard filling with mixed mochi on top. My husband had his own customized crepe with strawberries, Nutella, chocolate sauce, bananas, strawberry jam, and vanilla ice cream. He was craving crepes and this definitely hit the spot. We both agreed the only thing we would change with this order is dropping the strawberry jam. There is already so many other flavors that it doesn't add to it and kinda throws off the texture of everything else. Otherwise it's fantastic! I absolutely loved by honey toast too and everything I added was the perfect addition. Their green tea ice cream has had a chokehold on me since day one, and I'll add it to every dessert. Overall everything is a must-try!

Up2You Cafe is a popular late night spot that has lots of desserts, but the one I will continuously order over and over again is their brick toast. You order on a kiosk and start with a honey brick toast. You can then choose different toppings from fruits to oreos and can even add ice cream for additional price. This time, we decided to add mangos, vanilla ice cream, and condensed milk to ours. The bread is super crunchy on the outside, but fluffy on the inside with honey seeping into every bite. I really appreciated that they also gave us sweet and ripened mango as well. The only small downside to this place is that it gets very crowded, making it very hard to find a place to sit inside or outside and parking can get very difficult as well.

One of the few remaining places that still open pretty late (for San Diego). Went on a random Wednesday night and it got progressively busier as the night went on! The tables are big - great for board games, studying, or general shenanigans! The toast is delicious, I honestly would just eat that without any of the toppings. The condensed milk is a lot I definitely recommend getting that one the side if possible! They also have a card set up booth! I'm a huge collector so I was having a blast from the vending machines, the claw machines, the delicious desserts, to the card store...up2you became THAT place! Honestly the only thing I want more of is savory options! read more
The brick toast was great- just a tad bit too sweet. I got the mango brick toast and really enjoyed the combination of mochi, fruits, and ice cream. However, the sweetness was a bit too much, would've enjoyed the ability to change the sweetness. Plenty of room inside for eating and hanging out. They have plenty of games to borrow as well. read more
I came here a lot as a college student. The inside is very large and has plenty of seating. The service was fast, and you pick up your food at the counter with a buzzer. The toast and drinks are delicious. This is a great place to grab a sweet treat. read more

This place has been consistent from the past 10 years. Iconic dessert place for their honey brick toast! Out of all the desserts I do think you have to try it at least once. The drinks are yummy also, just feel like you can't go wrong with a brown sugar milk tea! The utensils and everything is laid out at the counter where you pick up the food/drinks, along with to go containers if needed. All other desserts are yummy and it's a cute set up inside with games, claw machines, free WiFi and lots of tables. Many people do come here to study for this reason. Downside would be that parking is limited and there is only one bathroom. Overall the place is maintained and clean. I will continue to come here and would be very sad to see if it ever shut down. read more
I always come back here but the desserts vary I guess on who makes it. Sometimes it's super good, other times it is so dry and lacks toppings. Wish they had more than one bathroom also. Tables are always packed inside and outside. read more

The desserts here were amazing! I customized the toast with dulce de leche, strawberries, and cheese custard so good. My friend got the brownie with a scoop of ice cream (the scoop was a bit small so we ordered another, but it was delicious). Another table ended up giving us their order because they made a mistake, it was a a crepe with dulce de leche, strawberries, and cheese custard and it turned out to be incredible. Parking is decent with street parking available. It was busy but not loud; lots of people were either socializing or working on their laptops. They also have games to play, a water station, and to-go boxes handy. The ambiance was great and made it a really nice place to hang out. read more

It's hard to find brick toast nowadays. They keep the brick toast dream alive and do it well. It feels they've enhanced the customer service as well. Haven't had any issues over the past year at all. Love the crane machine addition. read more

I tried the classic honey toast and added strawberries, condensed milk, whipped cream, and ice cream. Needless to say, I was shocked by the price of the brick toast which started out at $8 and climbed upwards to a whopping $17, after the add-ons. I still can't comprehend why a scoop of ice cream is $3, but ultimately caved in. Unfortunately, the brick toast was not warm and in my opinion, the price truly didn't reflect the quality. I do want to try some of the other desserts, and appreciated how other customers were painting and playing games. read more
Came here for an event, Hati Village, it's basically an open mic event and glad to have stumbled upon it. AMBIANCE: Parking: VERY small parking lot but fear not there's also street parking which I didn't have any issues with. Seating: Seating both inside and outside, great for groups and individuals. Feels: Welcome to Convoy! Plenty of eateries and other every day shops. The spot itself is pretty nice. Pretty clean and simple, decorated with pictures of their food and drinks to help you decide what to order. It seems like a good place to hang out with friends, get some work done, or if you're lucky, enjoy the live music! FOOD: Passionfruit Green Tea (Recommend) For something on the sweet side with some health benefits, then this is your go to. I was hoping for the green tea to help mute the sweetness but this is definitely more sweeter but still refreshing! CUSTOMER SERVICE: I was served by Casey and she was great! Friendly and knowledgable about the menu. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Great menu selections for desserts and drinks, reasonable prices, and a pleasant experience. I might have found a cool study spot! I know I wrote a Yelp review for the Up 2 You Cafe that used to be located in Kearny Mesa where they have K Sandwiches and what used to be our fave sushi spot Sushi Diner, which no longer exists. After a satisfying birthday dinner, we surprised our daughter by satisfying our sweet teeth at the only Up 2 You Cafe in San Diego. My brother and sister-in-law joined us as part of the surprise and we tried the social media fad dessert that included the raved about Dubai chocolate. We had a fun time at Up 2 You Cafe, but I'd rate the dessert we ordered 3.5 stars. There used to be several Up 2 You Cafes around San Diego, but their only location close to the Convoy area is the sole survivor. It is specifically located on Vickers and Convoy Streets, in the same building as apartments, a few steps from Joe Ropers Surf Shop, across the street from Pacific Honda, and just down the road from Kearny Mesa Suburu. There is very limited parking with only a couple of spots allocated for the cafe. Don't park in the reserve numbered parking spaces, which are reserved for the apartments, because they will tow you. As you enter Up 2 You, you'll see how spacious the restaurant is with table top and high table top seating. There's a large neon Up 2 You sign on one of the walls, hung pics of the types of food you can order, floral accents hanging on top of the walls, and claw n grab type arcade machines where you can win prizes. The young lady behind the counter couldn't tell us what her fave drink was and they provided fast service placing the food on the pick up counter. You can spend hours hanging out here because they have card games to play, but it does get packed, so don't lounge around too long. I'm sure many Yelpers are aware of the popular foodie confectionary fad that foodies have raved about called Dubai chocolate. I even tried purchasing the Dubai chocolate bars they were selling at Trader Joe's, but their initial shipment sold out quickly. We were excited to try Up 2 You's attempt at satisfying the Dubai chocolate fad, so we ordered their Dubai Toast, which is a brick toast topped with strawberries, pistachio cream, chocolate, pistachios, kataifi, and whipped cream. To wash this dessert down, I ordered a hot hazelnut latte. The Dubai toast was large enough to share with the wifey. You'll need a fork and knife to cut the toast. I recommend that you order a scoop of vanilla ice cream to eat with the toast. The toast is hearty and there is a generous amount of strawberries, pistachio cream, chocolate, pistachios, and kataifi. I wish the toast was sweeter and I really could not differentiate between Dubai chocolate and normal milk chocolate. Adding the vanilla ice cream to each bite of the Dubai toast made the dessert more creamy and better tasting than the toast by itself. The hazelnut latte was okay and I should have asked it to be sweeter. My taste buds prefer more sweetness on my desserts and coffee, but for dessert connoisseurs who are okay with less sweetness, then you might enjoy the Dubai toast. It definitely is beautiful when it comes out, so make sure to take pics before you start grubbing on it. To culminate my daughter's milestone birthday, we decided to try the Dubai toast at Up 2 You Cafe. I now can say I experienced the social media trend of eating Dubai chocolate, but it was okay combined with their toast. read more

Amazing and pretty desserts that you can customize. I especially enjoy their brick toast, which is both crispy and soft! The puff waffle is okay, just softer than the brick toast. The portions are huge and definitely are big enough to share. The crepe cake is also good and so soft and moist. The new banana latte is decent, it is pretty sweet and the banana milk overpowering the coffee. Spacious inside with lots of seats and staff are friendly. I would definitely keep coming back for the brick toast. read more

I am so pleased with my experience of hosting a graduation party at up2you by renting out the whole inside of the cafe space a month ago!! I rented it as a semi-private option where other customers could come in to order but drink outside on the patio. Their inside cafe space made hosting about approx 45-50 people a perfect option compared to anywhere else on convoy that I've contacted. The space for decoration and table arrangement was left to our complete discretion, so long as we cleaned and put everything back. They provide the tables, chairs, TV screen, projectors, sound systems, and drinks! They let us cater outside food for an event of our size and their rental requires a food and beverage minimum purchase from the cafe! Having a party with cafe drinks made to order made it a fun experience for guests, and the baristas were so awesome and on top of everything throughout the whole party. A++ Shoutout to Jayden the manager and the whole team at Up2You Cafe for being so helpful throughout the process and being open to communications preplanning. The team is so accommodating by opening up the cafe a bit earlier than they usually open just for my party set up. And the staff so generously helped come to our rescue when preparty decorating was on a time crunch. read more

Desserts are always amazing, especially their brick toast! I was exciting to try their new banana matcha drink but was disappointed; the banana milk was really overpowering and I didn't taste the matcha at all. It was also really sweet. To chill no-frills industrial looking location on the street. Luckily they have some parking spots in front and in the street. The menu is very easy to order when you can select your toppings. It does take a little bit for them to create it but at least you know it's fresh. Love the toast, which is crispy and not overly sweet depending on what you put on top of it. The size is generous and totally shareable between 2 to 3 or even four people. I would definitely come back here for a quick snack and a light carb dessert. There are a lot of people there just hanging out and I could see some people bringing in board games or just working here briefly. Everybody is super nice. It does pick up towards the after dinner crowd. read more
