This has been a staple asian dessert spot in my life since first moving to San Diego over 10 years ago. Quaint little cafe, with a pretty good amount of seating. Great for a late night hang for some sweets and boba. My absolute favorite and probably the most popular thing on the menu if I guessed is the honey toast. I don't know how they do it, but it's soft on the inside crispy on the inside. Perfect amount of sweetness. Love to get it with either condensed milk or nutella with some ice cream on top. What I got: Dubai Brick Toast ($18 Brick toast with pistachio cream and chocolate, fresh strawberry slices. You can never go wrong by going to Up2You Cafe! It has been my staple pick me up cafe for over 10 years. While their menu does change, they always offer their best desserts/snacks/drinks. With their most recent update, ordering is done through their tablets at the counter and they do have more seating available which has helped keep up with their busy location. I always love their milk teas and I try to remember to lessen the sweetness level as they are always quite sweet. My go-tos are taro and brown sugar and then the lychee green tea for fruit teas. I usually order a variation of their lave toast and green tea ice cream. Any way it's ordered is fantastic honestly. Another few favorites of mine have been the Napoleon, chocolate sphere, and their creme brûlée! Creme brûlée is my favorite dessert of all time but their Napoleon would have to split that top spot. Recently, I had the honey toast with green tea ice cream and custard filling with mixed mochi on top. My husband had his own customized crepe with strawberries, Nutella, chocolate sauce, bananas, strawberry jam, and vanilla ice cream. He was craving crepes and this definitely hit the spot. We both agreed the only thing we would change with this order is dropping the strawberry jam. You order on a kiosk and start with a honey brick toast. You can then choose different toppings from fruits to oreos and can even add ice cream for additional price. This time, we decided to add mangos, vanilla ice cream, and condensed milk to ours. The bread is super crunchy on the outside, but fluffy on the inside with honey seeping into every bite. I really appreciated that they also gave us sweet and ripened mango as well. The desserts here were amazing! I customized the toast with dulce de leche, strawberries, and cheese custard so good. My friend got the brownie with a scoop of ice cream (the scoop was a bit small so we ordered another, but it was delicious). Another table ended up giving us their order because they made a mistake, it was a a crepe with dulce de leche, strawberries, and cheese custard and it turned out to be incredible. Parking is decent with street parking available. It was busy but not loud; lots of people were either socializing or working on their laptops. I know I wrote a Yelp review for the Up 2 You Cafe that used to be located in Kearny Mesa where they have K Sandwiches and what used to be our fave sushi spot Sushi Diner, which no longer exists. After a satisfying birthday dinner, we surprised our daughter by satisfying our sweet teeth at the only Up 2 You Cafe in San Diego. My brother and sister-in-law joined us as part of the surprise and we tried the social media fad dessert that included the raved about Dubai chocolate. We had a fun time at Up 2 You Cafe, but I'd rate the dessert we ordered 3.5 stars. There used to be several Up 2 You Cafes around San Diego, but their only location close to the Convoy area is the sole survivor. It is specifically located on Vickers and Convoy Streets, in the same building as apartments, a few steps from Joe Ropers Surf Shop, across the street from Pacific Honda, and just down the road from Kearny Mesa Suburu. There is very limited parking with only a couple of spots allocated for the cafe. Don't park in the reserve numbered parking spaces, which are reserved for the apartments, because they will tow you. As you enter Up 2 You, you'll see how spacious the restaurant is with table top and high table top seating. There's a large neon Up 2 You sign on one of the walls, hung pics of the types of food you can order, floral accents hanging on top of the walls, and claw n grab type arcade machines where you can win prizes. The young lady behind the counter couldn't tell us what her fave drink was and they provided fast service placing the food on the pick up counter. You can spend hours hanging out here because they have card games to play, but it does get packed, so don't lounge around too long. I'm sure many Yelpers are aware of the popular foodie confectionary fad that foodies have raved about called Dubai chocolate. I even tried purchasing the Dubai chocolate bars they were selling at Trader Joe's, but their initial shipment sold out quickly. We were excited to try Up 2 You's attempt at satisfying the Dubai chocolate fad, so we ordered their Dubai Toast, which is a brick toast topped with strawberries, pistachio cream, chocolate, pistachios, kataifi, and whipped cream. To wash this dessert down, I ordered a hot hazelnut latte. The Dubai toast was large enough to share with the wifey. You'll need a fork and knife to cut the toast. I recommend that you order a scoop of vanilla ice cream to eat with the toast. The toast is hearty and there is a generous amount of strawberries, pistachio cream, chocolate, pistachios, and kataifi. I wish the toast was sweeter and I really could not differentiate between Dubai chocolate and normal milk chocolate. Adding the vanilla ice cream to each bite of the Dubai toast made the dessert more creamy and better tasting than the toast by itself. The hazelnut latte was okay and I should have asked it to be sweeter. My taste buds prefer more sweetness on my desserts and coffee, but for dessert connoisseurs who are okay with less sweetness, then you might enjoy the Dubai toast. It definitely is beautiful when it comes out, so make sure to take pics before you start grubbing on it. To culminate my daughter's milestone birthday, we decided to try the Dubai toast at Up 2 You Cafe. I now can say I experienced the social media trend of eating Dubai chocolate, but it was okay combined with their toast. read more

I am so pleased with my experience of hosting a graduation party at up2you by renting out the whole inside of the cafe space a month ago!! I rented it as a semi-private option where other customers could come in to order but drink outside on the patio. Their inside cafe space made hosting about approx 45-50 people a perfect option compared to anywhere else on convoy that I've contacted. The space for decoration and table arrangement was left to our complete discretion, so long as we cleaned and put everything back. They provide the tables, chairs, TV screen, projectors, sound systems, and drinks! They let us cater outside food for an event of our size and their rental requires a food and beverage minimum purchase from the cafe! Having a party with cafe drinks made to order made it a fun experience for guests, and the baristas were so awesome and on top of everything throughout the whole party. A++ Shoutout to Jayden the manager and the whole team at Up2You Cafe for being so helpful throughout the process and being open to communications preplanning. The team is so accommodating by opening up the cafe a bit earlier than they usually open just for my party set up.
