    Orange Latte

5 stars for the orange latte! By far my favorite latte out there. I have not tried anything else from here because I love it so much. The vibe is cool and the baristas are always friendly.

Fantastic coffee in this small shop on Kettner. This is my cycling groups half way stop and it never disappoints. Delicious espresso perfectly extracted every time! I've had their lattes as well as matchas and both excel. Just wish their pastry selection was a bit larger. Currently they offer four different types of cookies, all of which are fantastic, unique flavors, soft and crumbly though on the sweeter side. Wish they had croissants, scones etc.

This place ticks a lot of boxes! Prime location. Beautiful and delicious seasonal and classic drinks. Little bites to complement your drink. Great interior vibe/design. Good friendly service (when I went to visit). Only drawback here is the size of the establishment and the chance you may not get parking near by. But if you do decide to come grab a drink you won't be disappointed! I got the seasonal roasted black sesame seed latte with oat milk. It's was beautiful and tasty! Not overwhelming in the flavor but the right balance of sweet and nutty sesame. I'm pleased and plan to come back for their strawberry matcha, as it seems to be a fan favorite. It may be small but there is an indoor area right next to it that you can go sit at and enjoy your goodies. I think they're doing the best with the space they're given. Will come back when I'm in the area for sure!

    Sesame latte & Strawberry Matcha

Stumbled upon this cafe in little Italy, the shop itself is very very small but cute and clean, also the staff were nice. My friend had ordered their sesame latte which she absolutely loved while I ordered the strawberry matcha. I would definitely say the flavor on the strawberry matcha could be a bit stronger as it did taste more of the strawberry puree and less of the matcha, but still good for maybe an individual who is new to trying matcha and wants to start off slowly! I probably wouldn't come back for the matcha since it's a bit too mellow for me, but the coffee sounded great from my friend's opinion.

This is a cute little coffee shop! It's simple, but had such a cool modern vibe to it. Parking can be rough, but once you grab a coffee...you can hang out for a bit or take a nice walk around Little Italy. Now let's get to the coffee... That Strawberry Mocha was so yummy. It was well balanced and the dried strawberries were a great addition for taste plus added uniqueness to the look. I also got a Cold Brew because I am a sucker for those types of coffees. Surprisingly that was tasty as well. It was bitter or bland like some cold brews tend to be. It gave me the pep I needed for the day. The ladies that were serving up these delicious coffees were super sweet and friendly. Great customer service is always a plus. I definitely recommend trying this coffee shop for the variety of unique coffees that they have.

    Strawberry Matcha, Hojicha butterscotch cookie
    Sarah N.

The strawberry Matcha was OK. I thought that it was a little bit too milky personally for my taste and needed a little bit more Matcha and strawberry to balance it out but overall it was better than a lot of other coffee shops that happened to sell Matcha. The Hojicha butterscotch cookie was surprisingly really good. Honestly, the Hojicha flavor was on point and I don't really like butterscotch, but the butterscotch flavor really melded well with the Hojicha. It was a really nice touch that the cookie was really warm and perfectly crisp on the outside while being warm and gooey on the inside. The barista was super friendly and very enthusiastic even with the long line going out of the door. The ambience was nice and modern looking even though it looks exactly like the massage parlor next-door, but there's not much room for sitting.

Parking can be a bit tricky since it's metered and limited, but once you're in, it's such a cute little spot. It's on the smaller side with limited seating, but the vibes are super classy and cozy. There was a line when I went, but it moved pretty quickly. I ordered the orange latte and the hojicha butterscotch cookie latte--both were so good. The orange latte reminded me of those classic orange chocolates from England. And the cookie? AMAZING. Warm, soft in the center, and honestly one of the best I've had. The baristas were really friendly and sweet too, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely want to come back and try more things!

Roasted black sesame latte, matcha cream top, hojicha butterscotch cookie

Really cute location! Came on a Saturday morning with about 3 parties in line ahead of us but the line went quickly. Service was super friendly and kind! We got the roasted black sesame latte, matcha cream top, and hojicha butterscotch cookie. The black sesame latte was good - it does have coffee in it so something to note. The matcha was pretty light, I mostly tasted the oat milk and cream top. The cookie was stronger on the butterscotch side than the hojicha. It's street parking and there is a little bit of seating inside and some benches & a table outside so I would say it's generally more of a grab and go kind of spot.

I came for one thing only --- THE ROASTED BLACK SESAME LATTE. I saw this all over social media and it did not disappoint! The roasted flavor really shined through and the coffee tasted very nutty and not too sweet. I also enjoyed how it wasn't grainy at all and the bits of sesame added a fun texture. There's not much seating so I wouldn't recommend coming here to hang out but it's good for a quick stop! I easily found street parking on a Sunday afternoon and I was glad that street parking is free on Sundays. Great service as well!

Thanks, Immersion, for the superb customer service! Their coffee drinks are frothy, aromatic, and quite strong. Your cookies were not only moist, but also had a thick consistency & generously portioned. The ambiance is a simple contemporary storefront with no indoor seating. I do wish they had a parking lot to make it more convenient for customers. Thanks to Liz for being patient while we ordered, especially since it was our first visit. Still planning to return soon!

I love the simplicity of Immersion, the menu and cafe aesthetic alike. On a Friday afternoon, it was quiet and there was only a few customers. I really liked the matcha, it was lightly sweet.

Strawberry Latte & Roasted Black Sesame Latte

The inside of this little shop is quite aesthetic, but the coffee here is very disappointing. The barista was nice, & made the drinks right in front of us. I would also say that the presentation of the drinks look delicious, but they absolute taste like there is no coffee in them. Needless to say, the prices of the drinks were also very expensive for the size of them. If you like strong, yummy coffee, I would not recommend the coffee here. * Strawberry Latte - 5/10 (you can only taste milk with strawberry purée. i would've also preferred if they added fresh strawberry bits than the freeze dried ones) * Roasted Black Sesame Latte - 5.5/10 (the sesame is very grainy, & the cream top felt very overpowering. i also only tasted the milk, not the coffee)

    Monica V.

The freshly made chocolate chip cookie is hands down perfect, so soft and delicious! Also the Orange latte was a recommended one so I tried it and it was very good as well! Staff is very friendly service here! Also loved how aesthetic the ambiance was! Such a cute little coffee shop find!

Strawberry Latte -- bitter and strawberry flavor was undetectable. Nothing special.

Parking is a bit of a pain bit of you are in waking distance or come early enough it shouldn't be an issue. Sometimes they run out of items if you come later in the day. They have a special Bagel of the month, so make sure to ask what it is. They have several bagel flavors, and different flavor cream cheese spreads. I love the habanero bagel, it's one of my favorites, but just be warned it is very hot. Definitely don't eat it without something cold to drink. They also have a breakfast sandwich called the San Diego which is a favorite of several people I know. You chose the bagel you want it with and they add fried eggs, bacon, cheese and aioli. I highly reccomend it. I've not had a lot of their deinis, but i did order the cinna-bee which has honey, cinnamon, espresso and milk. I thought it was good and would order it again. Definitely check them out and try some of their bagels, or perhaps one of their sandwiches.

I tried several coffee shops along Seaport Village--some stood out for creative flavors, others for strong espresso--but Spill the Beans nailed the perfect balance every single time. We went back multiple times, and the consistency was impressive. My go-to was an iced "Basic Sitch" with oat milk, while my husband loved the warm "Cinna-bee." Both were incredible. The espresso quality was top-tier, and the drinks were made quickly without sacrificing flavor. Our only regret? Discovering this place halfway through the trip. Had we found it sooner, we would've been there every single day. This review is solely based on the coffee, as we didn't get a chance to try their breakfast sandwiches, though the options looked appetizing. This particular location isn't a fully built-out coffee shop, but it's perfect for grabbing your drink and taking a stroll along Seaport Village or, enjoying it at a nearby bench or outdoor seating area.

The sweetness of drink over powers the matcha, the matcha tasted very watery and grassy. Overall I wished the drink was more smooth, I did get oat milk and I tasted that more than the overall drink. I would say maybe switching the oat milk for a more smooth consistency like chobani oat. Maybe lowering the sweetness on the banana pudding would provide a balance with the flavors. The atmosphere of the place was nice but dining area was tight and there wasn't much walking space. Overall, I was a little disappointed for the price since it wasn't what I anticipated.

Finally got to try this cute Japanese cafe we saw on TikTok, and it did not disappoint!…read more Service: [5/5] The two girls who helped us were so sweet and made the whole experience. We were seated at the bar, which ended up being such a vibe--we got to chat with the girl behind the bar and watch her make lattes and desserts right in front of us. That kind of interaction really sets this place apart. Price: [4.5/5] It's on the pricier side, but honestly it feels fair given the quality of food you're getting. You can taste where your money is going. Food/Drinks: [5/5] Matcha Latte -- We shared one, extra sweet at my request, and it was perfect. Exactly what I was hoping for. Chef Soichi's Karaage -- We had this as an appetizer and my boyfriend made a point to say this is the closest he's had to traditional Japanese karaage. High praise from someone who's passionate about his Japanese culture. Hayashi Omurice -- This is their most popular dish and it's easy to see why. The demi-glaze has a really unique flavor that ties the whole dish together beautifully. This was my pick and I'd order it again without hesitation. Guratan -- My boyfriend's order, and it was incredibly creamy and delicious. We were both too stuffed for dessert by the end, which says a lot about the portion sizes. Ambience: [5/5] The restaurant is small, but honestly that's part of what makes it so charming. Pink everywhere with wooden accents and cherry blossoms throughout (very fitting)--it's cozy, homey, and just really well put together. The intimate size adds to the appeal rather than taking away from it. Overall Experience: [5/5] Hatsuzakara was such a wonderful first experience. Yes, we waited about 30 minutes to be seated arriving at 7:30 on a Friday night but for a waitlist-only spot this small, that's actually a pretty reasonable wait by San Diego standards. The food, the atmosphere, and the staff more than made up for it. Already looking forward to coming back to try the curry and work through their dessert menu.

I feel like everything looked really good, so it was hard to decide what to order. The dishes have small portion size despite the price. I think this kinda helps in that you have room to eat dessert! The brown sugar Okinawa tea was good but the after taste of the sugar was not good. They kept the tea pot warm, and they served oat milk on the side. Karaage had too much chicken skin for my preference. Guratan was penne pasta and not macaroni as specified in the menu. Yakisoba could have used more chicken. Omurice had the more flavor and the egg was really good. I want to try naporitan next time because of the tomato based sauce. Of the desserts I tried, the parfait was most enjoyable because of the fruit with ice cream. The mushi pudding was good; it was the thick and "hard" type of flan. I want to try kakigori next time because I saw their shaved ice machine was legit. Parking - free street parking only. Be prepared to walk up/downhill.
