Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and there was a line. It was busy and loud inside so it was pretty cool. Normally, I would've given this place 4 stars, but there was a fly in the pastry case. Maybe they can't control this, or maybe just put a sliding door on their side to help prevent flies from coming going on the food. The drinks were really good though. The vibe is easily 5/5. The only things holding it back are the parts they really can't control, which makes it tough deciding if I should be a regular or not lol. The place gets packed, which is honestly a great sign for the business and totally deserved because they have an awesome selection and really great staff. The biggest downside is parking since street parking can be really hard to find. The waiting area also gets very tight, to the point where you're kind of hovering over other people's tables while they're chatting or working on their laptops. The baked goods aren't served warm and I don't think they reheat them, but they usually have a great selection. I love their Little While Matcha Latte, and the Pandan Earl Grey is an absolute must try!! Just a suggestion: One thing that could make the experience smoother would be some kind of text notification when your order is ready. That way people could wait outside instead of crowding the small space inside, and it might even help create more buzz from people passing by who haven't heard of the place yet. Kaya Kouign AMANN- 4* buttery and sweet treat with a creamy green center made from coconut milk, eggs and pandan- which gives it a nutty vanilla like fragrance as well as its verdant shade. The texture was different from typical kouign amann- it ate more like a doughnut than the flaky layered crispy confections I've had. But the flavor was very rich- it's hard to go wrong with butter and sugar. I tried a couple of their other pastries- including their milk bread. All were delicious, with a perfect level of sweetness. The ambience is lovely and a bit bougie. Meant for couples and to go orders. The banquette seating on the wall had a row of the tiniest cafe tables the size of dinner plates that were not suited for more than 2 people. We were lucky to get their only window booth seat which seats 4. A tiny metal place holder states that they would appreciate it if clients occupy the table for no more than an hour to support their business and ensure turnover. Beware, the line will be very long if you go at noon and it lasted well after we left around 1:00pm. Also, parking on Adams Ave is now metered, except on Sundays and holidays. There is no dedicated lot of this cafe so if you can walk, I recommend it. Service was exceptionally good- staff was decked out in chic Hedley and Bennett custom embroidered aprons and spent a great deal of time ensuring we were happy with our orders and were able to place additional orders even once we were seated. The waitstaff was exceptionally knowledgeable about the source of the pastries- a commercial kitchen shared by Pot Pie Co in Mission Valley. One of the owners adds a touch of their native Filipino flavors to the menu including the Kaya cream I mentioned. Overall, we had a great time, and will be back for pastries and beverages but not with any more than 2 people. read more

Usually when I walk in this area I expect the massive line to be for An's dry cleaning but I hadn't realized that this coffee shop was the reason so many new people were in line. After looking it over I decided to give it a shot to see what the hype was about. The shop is aesthetic with nice indoor lighting as well as seating which were all full when I got inside. I wasn't sure what to order but the cashier was nice enough to recommend me the pandan earl grey latte. They also serve matcha and had a variety of beautiful pastries that I wish I ordered but decided against. After trying the coffee outside I will say that the coffee taste is potent but unfortunately I feel like the pandan/earl grey flavor was extremely light. It was still a tasty coffee but the other flavors didn't come through for me. Maybe it was just an off order but I don't think I'd order that same drink again. I was so excited to try Little While and see if it is worth the hype. I can gladly confirm that both the latte ams the pastry were AMAZING! I tried the iced early grey pandan and it was not too sweet, the flavors of early grey & pandan both stood out but blended well together. The Kaya kouign samman was probably the best pastry I've ever had! It was soft, fluffy, and the flavors just melted in your mouth. They did have a line out the door when i arrived on a Wednesday morning but i probably only wait 20 minutes total from the time i got in line, till the time i received my order. Every seat was packed inside as well but by the time my order was ready someone else was leaving so a table opened up. Came here last month on a random Thursday, after lunch for some coffee & pastries. Luckily, we beat the rush when we came in because a few minutes later, the line was out the door! We liked both but if I had to recommend one, I'd pick the pandan earl grey as it's more unique and isn't as widely offered at other cafes. Off the bat, I love that this place offers a slow bar. I'm huge on pourover and light roasted coffee so this is really up my alley. Wanted something a little stronger so I ordered the 1 and 1 with their house blend. Espresso was pulled right and tasted excellent in the cortado. My friend ordered the Edwin Noreña carbonic honey peach co-ferment Pourover. I tasted it-not my thing, but he loved it. We'll be back! Terrific new coffee spot with great drinks and pastries, from the creator's of Stella Jean's and Pop Pie Co. I had this bookmarked for our latest SD visit and it was well worth the stop. There are a few seats outside with more inside. We got there before there was a long line. The menu offers up espresso drinks, pourovers, seasonal drinks, as well as matcha, Thai tea, and chai. The pastry selections looked delicious; I wanted one of everything. I had the Ube Leche Flan pastry (masarap!) and a Honey Cinnamon Latte. It definitely stayed busy for most of the morning so get here early because they run out of pastries by 11. I really liked the unique flavor of the pandan but I didn't get too much earl grey flavor which was slightly disappointing but still so delicious! Little While is now open in SD and is one of the most poppin cafes in the city right now for a good reason. This spot is located in the North Park neighborhood where street parking will be your best bet. Wifey and I arrived around 10am and there was a short line out the door. Inside, they have a clean and minimalist setup with a solid amount of seating. For their menu, they have a unique selection of coffee, matcha, and pastries to choose from. Located in North Park (right next to An's Dry Cleaning!), there's tons of foot traffic and nearby sips and eats. We stopped by around 11am on a Friday and there was a little bit of a wait (15 minutes). They whip up the drinks pretty quickly though! We got the Salted Maple Latte (with a Little Cloud) and the LW Matcha Latte. If I could recommend you to get one thing, it would be the Salted Maple Latte. It was the perfect balance between salty and sweet! We also got it with a Little Cloud (Vanilla Cream Top) and it was perfection. It had a strong Vanilla Bean flavor and I couldn't stop myself from licking the little cup clean (TMI lol). The LW Matcha Latte features maple, coconut water, and milk. Whenever I pass by this block in University Heights, there is always a line on the sidewalk. I had assumed it was for the uber-popular gelato shop that has been getting nationwide acclaim. To my surprise, its new next door neighbor, Little While, has been generating its own long queue of customers. As noted by others, the cafe owners also operate a local ice cream and pie chain. Parking in this neighborhood is challenging because of a cluster of successful businesses. I visited on a weekday morning and found an open curbside spot not far away. The inside of the suite had limited seating with a row of small round tops along the right wall. There was also a table that could seat six in an alcove facing the front windows. Coffee and pastries were the main draw here, but matcha and specialty drinks were also offered. The display case next to the service counter was fully stocked with pastries while I was there. I selected a Ham & Cheese Croissant and a Kaya Kouign Amman for the food part of my order. My drink was a LW (Little While) Matcha Latte. The croissant was made up of rosemary ham, smoked cheddar, spice bomb, and sesame seeds. A pepperoncini was speared on top of the tasty, savory pastry. The kouign amman was a laminated pastry featuring coconut sugar and kaya (coconut) jam. This item was sticky and decadently sweet. The matcha latte contained a mix of maple, coconut water, and milk to go with the green tea powder. I liked how the coconut water made the drink taste lighter. There wasn't much space for a waiting area so the inside got rather tight with customers hanging out for their order. If possible, a few more tables should be added to the sidewalk patio in front of the suite. I have heard that the daily pastry inventory frequently sells out before the 2 pm closing time so show up early or risk missing out for the day. read more

On the coffee front, espresso, specialty lattes and pour-overs are the main options. The pour-over offerings are one of intrigue, the lineup consisting of specialty, one-off brews from select regions and sometimes featuring unique processing and flavor profiles. The gadgetry present is to be noticed. For instance, each brew method features a dedicated coffee grinder. And they mean BUSINESS with that $$$ grinder dedicated to the pour-over station. Said station features poppy orange Origami ceramic drippers over Hario carafes. Clearly, the coffee know-how is present in many bits and pieces and especially in the sizing of drinks. You won't find anything bigger than a 12oz. In fact, their lattes come in 10 or 12 ounce cups. Lattes are crafted to perfection, the frothing creating a silky, soothing drink. The Pandan Earl Grey was a perfect ratio to really dull the earl grey some while offering that quirky pandan sweetness. The owners already possess the prestige and renown to make this shop successful and the crowds prove that they are known far and wide. Hopefully the buzz dies down to an extent because the cafe is otherwise not enjoyable to sit at... I also hope they have a more varied bean selection; the pickings were slim during my visit. I was unaware of the hype until I saw the line that was extending all the way outside (waited for 15ish minutes on a Friday morning just to put my order in). The vibes inside are very cozy and trendy, but tables are very small if you happen to snag one. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk and my friend got a cappuccino. They offer unique coffee, tea and bakery goods. The couple times I visited, it was early a few minutes after 7a, and there was already line and inside was full of customers already seated. The line moved quickly and after I ordered a table seems to become available just for Me and Fendi. Pup friendly. The display of baked goods looked all tempting, interesting creations, some sweet and some savory. I picked a few and boxed it to go. My pup loves almond croissants, got that, I had to try the Kaya Kouign Amman, Ube Leche Flan and Chocolate croissant. For drinks, I've tried the hot Matcha Latte, the other matcha drinks were served cold. This hot matcha latte was made with ceremonial matcha and tasted matcha marvelous. It paired perfectly with almond croissant. On another occasion, the iced Salted Maple latte was quite delicious, made with home made maple syrup, went well with the kaya kouign amman, which was among the best. There are limited outdoor and indoor seating inside a cool minimalist decor simple space. The staff were worked expeditiously were nice and helpful. Okay, first the vibe of this place is awesome. It's always busy but the staff is very friendly and the service is fast. The coffee is top tier. The nitro cold brew is so smooth and full of flavor. The pastries are divine. I had the banana cream concha and the Kaya Kouign Amman. The Kaya Kouign Amman could be one of the best pastries I've ever had in my life. The pastries are next level and the coffee is made with care and patience. The highlight for me was the kaya kouign amman which was flaky, had buttery layers, a sugared glaze with a Kaya jam which gave it a nice coconut flavor. This is the newest edition to North Park and I couldn't be happier! The atmosphere is so welcoming. I got to the counter and was asked my name and how I found out about the coffee shop. Marcus was helpful in helping us choose which coffee to try. The seating can be limited with how highly populated it is due to the grand opening. What a gem of a coffee shop. Shout out to the barista who recommended the Pandan Earl Gray Latte (subbed matcha) + oat milk, it was of the best matcha lattes I've had. I'm the kind of girl who usually doesn't order matcha since I can make it at home, but this was a different level. The matcha was smooth and creamy, and not in the way that the creaminess came from the milk. It was slightly floral which I love, nutty from the pandan, and super refreshing. The cortado was very well made, with the exception of a slight bitter note towards the end. It was smooth and rich up front and offered a smooth texture. I really appreciated that they served it with the traditional carbonated water. The almond croissant was exceptional. They certainly do not hold back on the almonds in top of the croissant. This beautiful coffee shop just opened in SD and has already earned quite the popularity. From the branding to the interiors, I already had a good feeling we were in for a treat. I remember going 40 minutes after they opened and the place was already packed. Though the seats were ample, be prepared to wait a bit. They have an impressive array of pastries baked in-house. The kaya kouign amann was PHENOMENAL and I still think about it til today. The lemon curd French toast was also delicious. I've been wanting to try this place ever since I saw it featured on social media, and I finally had the chance to stop by. There was about a 30-minute wait in line, followed by another 10 minutes to receive our order, which is understandable given the popularity. The shop itself is small but charming, with a clean, minimal aesthetic. Photos of different places around the world line the walls, and there is seating available along the perimeter with a couple of tables outside. I ordered the Colombian from the "For the Curious" menu as an iced vanilla latte, along with both the chocolate croissant and butter croissant. The Colombian drink was interesting while it was coffee-based, it reminded me more of an oolong tea in flavor, which made for a unique experience. The owner personally came over to our table to explain how the drink was made and shared his perspective on it, which I really appreciated. The vanilla latte was well-balanced and smooth, without the overly thick or syrupy sweetness that some lattes tend to have. The croissants were incredibly crispy and flaky. Since we arrived later in the day, the pastry selection was limited, but what we had was excellent. Overall, this is a thoughtfully curated spot with unique offerings and great attention to detail. NEW FAVORITE COFFEE SHOP! This establishment is so adorable and has the best vibes. They also have an amazing selection of pastries and unique drinks! I love their Kaya kouign amann, honey toast , and their earl grey pandan latte. Everything was literal perfection, perfectly executed and amazing in flavors! High quality! I literally went back twice within a week because I was so impressed with their offerings! The interior is warm and inviting with small tables to have a little coffee date with your friends or loved ones. They also offer merch like ceramic cups, coffee beans, matcha, t shirts, etc. The baristas all seem to take their craft seriously and the customer service is amazing! They have metered street parking outside as well as some outdoor seating. You MUST come check this place out, you won't regret it! read more
