Super tiny coffee shop tucked away in Little Italy! The staff was really kind and helped me pick a drink too. I got the black sesame latte from their seasonal options and my friend got the orange latte. Both were super good! My only wish is that they had bigger size options. Truly and honestly, this is the best coffee in San Diego! Argue all you want. They have the cleanest and best tasting everything. Immersion Coffee has elevated the San Diego coffee scene, and as a long time fan of the Manivela Coffee Truck, I'm super happy with the new store and the rebrand. The expanded menu is a revelation and I have a new go to drink- the vanilla bean flat white with oat milk. What truly sets this coffee shop apart is the dedication to quality evident in their new pourover menu, which proudly features competition-level specialty coffee for both pourover and espresso. They make pourover with the Kalita Wave and their espresso machine is the La Marzocco Strada (new machine and they have the only one in San Diego). The menu right now features famous coffee producers such as Nestor Lasso and Diego Bermudez, who are top of the game right now for high-intervention specialty coffee. It is rare that you find this selection anywhere in the country, and for sure the coffee you get here cannot be found anywhere else in all of San Diego. Went to this place for an afternoon coffee with my girls! This is cute lil cafe that serves pourovers, special coffees and matcha/tea as well as lil baked goods! I was mulling over the menu as the selection was more than I was expecting from such a small space! Both of our orders came out pretty fast despite there being a small line and 2 baristas. I decided on the orange latte mostly because I've never had one before and also I enjoy espresso-based drinks. My friend ordered the strawberry matcha that looked quite yummy! The drinks do need to be stirred for proper enjoyment, just so you know. Unless you enjoy the taste of separate elements bit by bit lol. They occupy a small area in the lobby of the building looks a bit hidden, you would almost miss it if it was painted a different color. I was feeling a matcha that day, so out of their two options, I opted for the Cream Matcha Latte. It was a bitter but a nice blend of both matcha and milk. Nothing in particular left me immersed into the drink. This is a grab and go cafe considering the limited mount of space. It is great if you're en route to your destination by walking and parking could be hit or miss as it's on the quieter side of DT near Kettner. Took my family visiting from Vegas here because I enjoyed the drink the first time I came. Cashier was so dismissive, gave an attitude when we were asking about flavors and opinion about a new drink we wanted to try but he had no problem taking his time with the customer infront of us. New kids on the block and I am loving it. The coffee shop is very small, which is totally not an issue because it's so beautiful and so aesthetically pleasing. It's really good for the eye they share the lobby which is perfect for sitting and sipping your Matcha, or your latte quickly You don't need a lot of space for that. The Matcha was really amazing. You just HAVEEE to come here. I rarely give reviews but I loveeee this place. My mom and I ordered two cookies and 2 drinks, hands-down the BEST we've tasted in San Diego. We had strawberry matcha and triple C, for the cookies selections we chose matcha and black sesame. Their cookies are freshly baked, freshly made and it doesn't taste super sugary. The strawberry latte was ok, I wasn't wowed by it. Coffee was smooth and not too bitter. However, I couldn't taste the strawberry at all really after I mixed it since the taste of the coffee overwhelmed it but I would get hints of it in a few of the sips here and there where I was probably getting mini strawberry syrup globs, had a natural sweetness no artificial taste which was nice. I'm curious enough to come back and try the orange latte since that one seems pretty unique with orange and chocolate but other than that wouldn't be very enticed to come back. Other reviews were disappointed in their matcha so I'd probably just stick to making my matcha at home. Service was ok, typical coffee shop order at the counter then wait for your name to be called when your drink is ready. The location is small but cute/aesthetic, there's minimal seating but also a door leading to a lobby with more seating. It's a cute grab and go coffee shop that's walking distance to me but I don't think I'd go out of my way to try this place. read more

My second attempt at getting an instagrammable coffee from Immersion was successful. The first time I came here, it was closed despite it being 12:20 on a week day. There was no closed notices on their instagram or google, so i was a bit put off since I used my lunch break to come down there. The second time around I did enjoy my strawberry latte- the strawberry was fresh and the coffee was smooth. It is a very tiny shop but there is a bunch of outdoor communal seating. read more

Immersion's orange latte is unlike any other coffee I've ever had. If you like a chocolate/orange combo you will love this. They put homemade orange syrup and chocolate ganache which made this drink so sweet and rich in the best way. Definitely more of a dessert coffee than one to start your day with if you prefer something less indulgent. The cafe itself is pretty small with only a few seats, but the surrounding area is nice to walk around. There were two employees making the drinks and given that it was pretty busy, it took a bit of time but the quality of the drinks makes it worthwhile in my opinion. I also tried the strawberry matcha which was super good. I've come here maybe two or three times total because it's conveniently located by the massage studio next door, and each time, regardless of who's working, it's a really unfriendly atmosphere. My latest (and likely last) visit, I walked in and the barista onsite absolutely ignored me -- and mind you, the place is tiny. They finally walked over to the register and kept avoiding eye contact. It was wild. I placed my order, kindly, paid, and nothing. I'm not one to claim "racism" but the two white/white passing folks who came in after me got such friendly welcomes. Such a shame because this place has the aesthetic I enjoy in coffee shops and a decent menu of options with good selections. But I won't be returning. Three consistent rude experiences is a pattern. I had seen so many videos online about the matcha and coffee here. I visited the little italy location, ordered a vanilla latte and an orange latte. The baristas were very kind and friendly. Big plus's on no surcharge for alternative milks as well. The place is very quaint, there is limited seating but if you happen to go on a slow day, there's good spots. Heard about this place from social media and wanted to give it a shot. As so many of us, I've been into matcha lately and wanted to give immersion a shot. Seeing that they hand-whisk each drink to order and seeing the color of the matcha from other orders, I was hopeful. I did notice, however, that the matcha looked watery while whisking. Upon receiving my order, I was sadly disappointed. Upon first sip, I tasted no matcha at all. All I tasted was watered down oat milk and was very disappointed. After mixing it all together even with the cream top, there was still no flavor. You could also see the matcha wasn't whisked enough and was still grainy. It's an understatement to say I was disappointed. Just based on the matcha, I wouldn't recommend Immersion if you're looking for quality matcha. However, I would come back to try their coffee drinks since they seem to be of higher quality at first sight. Side note: I believe I was overcharged by $1 but didn't want to make a big deal out of it. The advertised price for the matcha with cream top was $6.50 but was charged $7.50. read more

However, when I was waiting for my Matcha outside on the public street, I was approached by someone who works for " the now" massage parlor next-door. I was asked to not stand outside of the establishment when I was clearly just waiting outside on the public street for my Matcha. I was not touching the business next-door or causing any commotion I was just on my phone scrolling through TikTok's and was discriminated against by the business next door.
