Small unsuspecting donut shop in Carlsbad village. Wanted to bring a couple of treats back home to the kids and they had a variety of donuts to choose from including pistachio and bacon topped chocolate donuts. No line so we were in and out quickly. Got home and the donuts were eaten greedily by my kids. Was able to swipe a bite or two and must say they were delicious. Not overly sweet which was perfect.

What's better than sitting on a quiet beach and enjoying a delicious donut???

Nice little spot, you can tell it's been there forever. It was recommend by a local. We got a variety, but the maple bar was my favorite! Fluffy, little bit of crunch and not too much maple. The service was good and very quick. I'd definitely go back!

Found this place nearby Carlsbad area. Normally i think these hole in the wall donut shops owned by mom and pops r really good so had high expectations but they were not met. The cinnamon roll was overly greasy/oily. The sugar donut not soft and fresh tasting and old fashion not that good. Maybe i am spoiled by really good donut shops in the bay area.

Cream filled donuts, and an old fashioned

They slice the toasted coconut and fill it with freshly made whipped cream right in front of you. Can't get any fresher than this. If you go there you have to try this. I've taken 3 different people here and every single person said that cream filled donut was the best they've ever had as well. You have to try it, trust me you won't be disappointed.

    Fruity pebble doughnut

this is easily the best donut place in Carlsbad! The owners are the ones working behind the counter and when I was worried about cross contamination with the allergies, they made me a whole fresh donut just in case. So sweet. While I was waiting, the owner gave me a sample of his coffee to try because he wants to get more into making coffee overall, this place was amazing and I would definitely recommend going.

    Pistachio Lemon Donut

Super Donuts is great! It is cash and venmo only and quite affordable! The pistachio lemon donut was so unique, fresh, delicious! Perfect balance of flavor which is hard to do with lemon flavored desserts! They also have standard donuts and a few speciality ones like this. The woman at the front was helpful and quick with her service.

I ordered an Apple fritter and it was delicious. The Apple fritter was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The glaze was perfect. I'll be back to try more flavours

The service was super friendly, and the donuts? Absolutely delicious! Fresh, flavorful, and a perfect treat to start the day. We'll definitely be back for more. Highly recommend!

    I've had better

The donut shop was located in Downtown Carlsbad. It was a quiet morning so I was able to find parking. Upon entering the store, I was already greeted by a rude lady behind the counter. She rushed me to make a selection, but it was my first time and I was hoping to find a few donuts with toppings I saw on Yelp. Unfortunately, she kept telling me that they're out without even checking. Everything I ordered tasted stale and over cooked. The price was not on the food side. Overall, bad service, bad taste, bad pricing. I won't be coming back.

The lemon pistachio old fashioned is my favorite donut in th world!

Service was good, but I can't imagine it would pass a food inspector visit. The place looks filthy. Donut was average.

I love that they're a little smaller than standard donuts because it meant I could sample more flavors! The nitro cold brew was great, too. As for the donut flavors I tried... BRUNCH BROAD - 10/10 A perfect donut. I grabbed an extra one to go for my boyfriend (even though he's not a huge donut fan - I was sure he'd like it). He ate it the next day and loved it so much he took a picture of the packaging so we could come back, haha. The maple scent is strong and intoxicating! NANTUCKET - 9/10 Also amazing. The warm caramel and sea salt were absolutely delicious. CREAMSICLE - 8/10 A really unique and delicious donut! I'd order this one again for sure. CINNAMON SUGAR - 7/10 Classic and delicious. CHAI TOWN - 5/10 A little disappointed in this one. I got a lot of super sweet vanilla icing flavor and couldn't really taste the chai spices. ISLAND BROAD - 4/10 Not for me, unfortunately. I absolutely love lemon desserts but the lemon flavor tasted artificial :( Will absolutely be back next chance I get and can't wait to try more flavors!

Luckily, we found a parking spot nearby and we were able to explore around the area. This time, we were able to walk around to see what else was located nearby. While walking down Coast Highway, we saw some large advertisements for Broad Street Doughnuts. The photos were colorful and we were in the mood to try something new. We had never heard of Broad Street Doughnuts, so we were hoping that these would be delicious. Broad Street Doughnuts is located off of PCH, in the city of Encinitas. This is their only location on the west coast. They have 3 other locations in New Jersey, so it's great that they opened up a shop out here. They share a parking lot with other businesses, so parking is relatively easy. Their doughnuts are made to order. You will not get that stale, day old taste when you take your first bite. They are fried up after you place your order and then the toppings are applied. It beats staring are doughnuts through a case and ordering what may have been sitting there for hours on end. The menu is on the wall and it's totally visual. Each combo is displayed in a vivid photo. You can select from those or from the doughnuts that are near the register. The doughnuts at the front counter are not featured on the visual menu, so you may need to ask about their toppings/combos. I got a classic rainbow sprinkled doughnuts, along with a half glazed and half chocolate sprinkled doughnut. We also ordered a cotton candy doughnut that had what looked like dried out cotton candy. Delicious!!!! These doughnuts were light and fluffy. They were warm to the touch and incredibly fresh. They are a bit smaller in size, when compared to an average size doughnut. They seem prefect in size because you could walk the calories off while exploring around Encinitas. Broad Street Doughnuts was a pleasant surprise. Sometimes the visual representation isn't always an indicator of how good the product will be. In this case, the product lived up to the visual representation. We have passed by Broad Street Doughnuts many times, and finally had an opportunity to stop by. We were pleasantly surprised with both the product and how friendly the staff were with all of the customers. We will definitely be back when we are back in the area!

My fiancée & I had seen Parlor Doughnuts numerous times after the Oceanside Sunset Market. & every single 1 of those times, we were already too full from grazing at all the food stands by then to give it a try. So on a Saturday afternoon, when we just happened to be nearby, we popped in for some impulse buy doughnuts. With a staggering variety of delicious looking toppings/ flavors, the possibilities looked enticingly intriguing. Staff behind the counter was friendly attentive, & helpful. Although there are some savory options available, which seemed to me like pizza toppings on doughnuts, we stuck with sweet: maple bacon & bourbon caramel. Tried & true flavor combinations, both. But the dough, whoa. For starters, the 2 doughnuts we got didn't have holes. That actually makes a difference in how the doughnut cooks. Secondly, the dough ate more like bread dough than a doughnut. Doughnuts have a hole for a reason. You see, it's physics, son. When you consider how thermodynamics affects an oblate spheroid vs. a toroidal sphere, it becomes evident that a doughnut without a hole will not cook evenly throughout inside. In fact, this was specifically proven on MasterChef Canada Season 8, Episode 8 during a doughnut pressure test. In that episode, Andres forgot to put holes in his doughnuts & they were undercooked in the center. Hey, I did start this review with admitting I'm a nerd who watches too many cooking competition shows. Uniform doneness aside, there was also the breadiness. If I'd been told these doughnuts were some kind of new take on Pan Dulce, maybe I would've liked them more. But given the expectation of a doughnut, what I tried at Parlor Doughnuts just wasn't it. The staff was great, & the toppings were fine. But with the word "dough" literally in the name of the product, to come up short there leaves something to be desired.
