This is the 3rd time I've visited and each time I am equally disappointed. Food: the bagels are bland and doughy. Absolutely zero taste or personality. They just feel like a fat slice of wonder bread. The sandwiches are fine but nothing to write home about. Coffee is a gavina pimp that tastes burned and bitter. Service: the folks are busy and nice but the guy making food behind the counter puts nothing into his prep. Not sure how to put my finger in it but it takes the trust out of the equation for me. Parking is a nightmare behind the building and dicey in front. Overall I'd pass if possible. I'm done coming here. read more

We found this bagel shop in Oceanside and popped in for a quick breakfast. This place offers more than bagels, including bagel, breakfast sandwiches and other non-breakfast sandwich sandwiches. Of course I went in to try the salt bagel with the lox spread. We popped in on a Sunday morning just before 10 AM and it was not busy. The place is a tad small however they have indoor and outdoor seating. They offer a good variety of different bagel options as well as creamed cheese spreads. They also offer your standard coffee, juices, and they have a beverage refrigerator where you can grab a soda or energy drink. My daughter ordered a wheat bagel lox sandwich. Both of our bagels were a good size and had an amazing chewy texture which we both love. Personally, I think the lox spread could have been mixed a tad more, but that is only because I prefer the locks to be mixed into the cream cheese and have smaller pieces of it rather than large chunks. The staff was very friendly and attentive and patient while we decided what to order. Once you order, they will give you a number and we will deliver your food to your table. Overall, this is a great spot for a quick breakfast on the go. It is conveniently located around the corner from a four hour parking lot, which is walking distance to the Oceanside pier. I realize this place is most famous and highly rated for its bagels and such. I stumbled in around 1PM for lunch and ordered a roast beef and swiss on sourdough (sliced is the only option) with all of their usual trimmings which include lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and sprouts (yay!). I think it had both mayo and mustard, but could have used more mayo on the bottom of the big pile of veggies. It was all fresh and tasty and my only complaint is that it was about 85% veggies with just three slices of roast beef--probably about three ounces. I think a sandwich should contain a big majority of the named ingredients. This is really a veggie sandwich with a few slices of beef and a slice of cheese. Not a good value at $14.00, but at least it includes chips or potato salad. I do appreciate their good health department inspection scores. read more

If you are from New England/New York you will definitely love this spot. Prices are not the same as easy coast obviously but the atmosphere, and staff definitely make you feel at home. They have gluten free options but they do not prepare celiac friendly unless you ask. Cheese and egg on a plain bagel was $6 and their fancier bagel sandwiches are closer to $13. Really enjoyed the owners and the location is a bit tough to park if its busy but it's worth the walk I'll be coming back to try their other stuff read more

This place is a must whenever we are in the area or on the way to San Diego. Their bagels are super fresh and always taste amazing. I am obsessed with their everything bagel with their home made everything seasoning (not pictured). They even give you a generous side of the seasoning if you ask. I didn't eat all of mine last time and used the extra seasoning in some scrambled eggs and it was divine! The staff is so kind and man they are fast. The service is so fast I usually can't just bite into my bagel sandwich bc it's piping hot. My boyfriend loves their jalapeño bagels the most. 10000/10 I want to come back here for breakfast and lunch every day I ordered the vegetarian - it's egg, cheese, onion, tomato, sprouts and avocado on your choice of bagel. I got Asiago cheese. SO GOOD. The service was quick and super friendly. I got half to go and they wrapped it up for me and put it in a bag. That's service! Have always driven past this place but finally decided to give it a try. The service was extremely fast and friendly, food was unbelievably fresh with high quality ingredients. You can tell this is a small "mom and pop" restaurant/ family owned and operated shop where everything is prepared with love and care. Also one of the best bagels I've had! Extremely soft and fluffy. Everything you want from a local bagel shop. Family vibes, personal and comfortable service, and an absolute DELICIOUS bagel sandwich? yes to all. I got the Lox on a plain bagel and the balance of everything was perfect. Not too much cream cheese, everything was assembled well so it stayed together, and I felt like I got a little bit of everything in every bite. Like any local food deli/shop, price of the bottled/canned drinks can be a bit high so bring your own if you want. Honestly, the price of the food is so reasonable, you're still getting a good deal! Was looking for a breakfast sandwich in the area and stumbled upon 101 Bagels & Subs! My family and I walked in and were greeted with the smell of fresh bagels. Once it was our turn to order...the woman at the counter was very kind and accommodating to our requests. There was plenty of seating inside and outside of the shop. We opted to sit outside and the table/surrounding area was clean. Not to long after we sat down, our food was ready and WOW...it was delicious. Staff was very kind and patient. I got an Everything bagel California style and my husband got an egg bagel with cheese and egg. Food was good, but kind of bland. Definitely not the best bagels but pretty solid when compared to other places.! Everything was good, just could have used some more seasoning (which is saying something for an Everything bagel ). The outdoor seating has an amazing view of the Oceanside beach and pier. The indoor seating is an open air concept with their coffee bar and bakery at the front and a closed kitchen in the back. The weight staff was very professional and courteous. Ours was especially attentive and took the time to tell us what some of the more popular dishes are at breakfast time. The food was delicious. Their coffee was delicious! I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, and they were moist and surprisingly, very citrusy and slightly tart which was balanced with a few dollops of lemon curd that was on the plate. I also ordered a coffee cake, which I did not end up eating however, when I had it as a midnight snack later, it was delicious. It was so buttery, especially on top where the crumble was. It was the perfect blend of sweet and salty. My daughter ordered the Hawaiian style fried rice. We were pleasantly surprised that the spam on the plate is homemade spam and not the kind you get from the can. It definitely tasted a lot better than the kind you get from the can. Sidenote: I am a fan of the one you get on the can, however! The fried rice was fried with kimchi, pineapple, green onion, and toasted sesame oil. The plate came with a thin omelette on top. The portions are good, and if you are not too hungry, you can definitely share them. This place is also dog friendly, which I found to be great since I am the owner of a rat terrier. There were plenty of other customers with their furry friends chilling at their feet. In fact, the restaurant offers a pet menu with options like unsalted hamburger or unsalted and grilled chicken thigh. I am definitely going to go back when I'm in the area. The fresh fruit on top was perfect, super refreshing and just what I needed that day. Only thing I'd say is it would be nice if they had a half size option on the menu. SERVICE - their current set up is to take your order, take your money, and give you a number. That would fine and dandy except that the girl who was taking orders ALSO had to play bartender. The line seems to be so long and take forever because she'll take your order, then spend 5 minutes making drinks or doing something else before taking the next person's order. Maybe this is their way to handle the traffic because tables are full and maybe they are down staff members. Either way, I was disappointed at the speed/organization. HEALTH CODE VIOLATION - the cherry on top to all of this happened since I had so much time in line to observe. The girl taking orders would take an order, process payment by touching the POS system, then scoop ice into a glass for the drink she was making (this time was a Bloody Mary), handle bottles of alcohol, and FINALLY, touch the bacon and garnishes for the Bloody Mary all without washing her hands. No doubt there have been many hands that have touched all of those things and contaminated them, all for her to touch food at the end without washing her hands. The POS system is also about 10 feet away from the bathroom so all of this adds up to something that seems risky and needs to be fixed.

They had ceviche in the cooler, and honestly the 5-star reviews almost convinced me to grab some, but the breakfast burrito was calling my name. Glad I listened that thing was packed with ingredients and seriously good. Absolutely loved the vibe here. Part fish market, part café, with a steady morning rush of coffee drinkers, locals, and regulars coming through the door. The team was professional and friendly from the cashier all the way back to the line cooks. You could tell everyone was working in sync back there. This is my order that I placed on the Door Dash App this morning. My order was one Pastrami Toasted Sandwich on white sandwich bread. These ingredients included: (lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced pickles, and cucumbers with a spicy mustard). The price is $12.99. I also ordered the one Potato Salad. The price is $3.00. My beverage was the one Ginger Ale it was $3.99. For dessert I ordered one cheesecake the price is $5.99. My subtotal was $25.97. The Delivery Fee would have been $6.99 but since I have a Dash Pass Membership I was NOT charged a delivery fee on this online order. The Expanded Range Fee was $1.49. The Service Fee was $4.93 but it was reduced to $2.33. The Estimated Tax is $1.73. This Dasher Tip I had chosen for Armor was $6.00. My total bill was $32.52. My order arrived on time at 8 a. m. from Armor my Dasher Driver and he handed me my order. The Pastrami Sandwich on the white bread with all the healthy ingredients inside was very delicious and I love Pastrami it was piled high inside my sandwich. The Potato Salad was very good and it was a great combo with my deli. sandwich. The Ginger Ale was very refreshing and not too sweet for a soft drink. And for my dessert the one sliced Iced Lemon Loaf Cake was really flavorful and yummy! I ordered one piece of this sliced Cheesecake and the price is $5.99. I dd NOT receive this Cheesecake with my order. Instead, I received a (Substituted Item), it was this one package of this sliced Iced Lemon Loaf Cake and I was still charged the $5.99 almost $6.00 to my NFCU Visa Credit Card Account today. This substituted dessert the one package of the sliced Iced Lemon Loaf Cake doesn't cost $5.99. The same dessert item at Walmart only cost $1.24. There was (no Note) telling me that my Cheesecake which I had originally ordered was missing from my order and it was not available to me their new customer. There should be an explanation telling me their new customer in writing a (personal note) to me that this one Cheesecake was sold out or you need to update your Menu on your website, so your future customers will not have to go through this same issue that I had experienced today with my Door Dash online order. I had to sign into my Door Dash Account and I explained this issue to the Door Dash Delivery Company. I said there was a Missing Item from my order today but I had received a substituted dessert which was the one sliced Lemon Loaf Cake but it's a cheaper price than this Cheesecake for The $5.99. This Door Dash Company made me really satisfied and I was given a credit to my visa credit card account in the amount of $7.03. I can use this credit which will be applied to my next online order that I place on the Door Dash App. This Door Dash Delivery Service really cares about their loyal customers like myself in resolving my issue today. Door Dash gave me Excellent Customer Service today and as always. I also received really delicious deli. food for my lunch time meal.
