Got a bunch of bagels today and they were all just sad store-bought bread in bagel shape. No chew…read moreat all. They used to be good so I don't know what happened. Either they're using low protein flour or they're not agitating the dough enough to form the gluten structure. I'm sure it's a cost saving measure but I'd rather they increase the price than produce soft textureless bagels. This is basically no-knead bread. I make bagels chewier than this and I'm a total amateur! Incredibly disappointed and I don't think I'll give it another try.
