This doughnut shop, which I learned has been around a while, makes some good looking doughnuts. I had a simple buttermilk bar with no icing, but even that simple doughnut was good looking and tasty. They have a wide range of doughnuts, including large apple fritter and bear claws, not the smaller version everyone is making these days, and doughnut holes by the dozen. The buttermilk bar offered that nice crisp exterior and pillow soft interior, not mention that slight tangy butter flavor. It was a good old fashioned bar. The hospitality was good. The lady and the young man behind the counter both said hello and were ready to help me. The service was quite efficient. They also offer Lotto tickets here. read more

Stopped by at 8 AM on a Saturday for donuts and lottery tickets. Very well could have been the freshest donuts I have ever had. They had 4 or 5 people behind the counter and there were quick to get your order. Only delay was getting cashed out (due to the lottery tickets). I will be back. read more

The donuts were fine. The ham and cheese croissant was really good. After two bites into the croissant, I still hadn't found any ham or cheese but finally, near the middle, I found the goodness. And it was very hammy and very cheesy and very good. Note that they DO take credit and debit cards but ONLY if you order at least $10 worth of food and/or drinks. They make the standard fare for a donut shop. Very friendly. I typically get a ham and Cheese croissant or a plain croissant and a maple bar and apple fritter. Today I needed to make the $10 minimum to use my credit card. She requested I choose one more donut and I asked her about something with custard. She gave me 3 choices. Chocolate iced, Glazed and plain. She took a fresh un iced bun to the back and pumped it full of vanilla custard. I like the idea. It just felt fresher that way. I'll be back. read more

Note: CASH ONLY (atm inside). So I stumbled across this tiny whole in the wall when starbucks down the street messed up my order. There was a line out the door so that was promising. On a whim I got an iced coffee and a ham, cheese, jalapeño croissant. That croissant was the best I have ever had warm, fresh, buttery and flaky...you can tell its made on site with a ton of butter. I took half of it home because it was so large. My husband was mad because mine was way better than his starbucks breakfast sandwich. It was honestly so good we went back the next day. They have lots of breakfast sandwiches and bagles...oh yeah and donuts. I got a chocolate glazed donut today and it was good. The donut was fresh and soft but the dough was not overly sweet like some donuts are. They also have smoothie options. Also if you need a lottery fix I think they have every type of scratcher made. It's crazy how you always find an awesome donut or breakfast shop in California. Every time we visit a beach I do my morning strolls and come across fresh donuts pastries and breakfast yummies in California towns. BRING CASH, CASH ONLY (They do have an ATM for $1.50) This shop continued the great finds of California breakfast I score. I was a little shocked with all the lottery stuff inside the shop, but donuts are definitely there number one thing. They are good home cooked doughnuts not frozen and re-warmed up crap like so many other donut shops these days. The Bavarian creams were so rich and thick, filled up fat. The apple fritter was very tastey. Keep up the great work, will visit again in 3 weeks on our return stay in Oceanside. read more

No matter the time of day it tastes fresh! Had an apple fritter at 1 pm and it tasted like it was just made. The ham n cheese crescent was so good! One of my favorite places to get a early morning breakfast by far. They are always super hospitable when I go in no matter what time. I usually go in when it's the busiest it seems in the morning and the people behind the counter are just cranking out orders pretty fast. Donuts are pretty good, and I personally enjoy the bacon egg and cheese croissant with extra bacon. They do sell scratch tickets there, and in my opinion can be kind of brutal with all the people sitting around scratching getting that stuff everywhere. They've obviously taken their quality and customer service to this location. They are always nice and friendly, prompt and the donuts are consistently delicious.
