We need more places like this!…read more First time stopping by GM's brick and mortar shop vs buying from them at the farmers market, and let me just say, this place is a gem - everything from the store itself to its people! Cinnamon roll - best Ive had out of all the ones I've had in CA and AZ. They do not cut corners and even use brown butter for their cinnamon sugar filling! Cruffins - fun to look at and fun to eat; can't go wrong with any of them! Cookies - white chocolate macadamia nut, chocolate chip, gluten-less chocolate cookies ... now these are cookies! If I had to bet, I'm pretty sure they weigh as much or even more than the famous NY Levain cookies. Strawberry and cream croissant - croissant stuffed with whipped cream and slices of fresh strawberrh; do yourself a favor and just try this! With so many goods to choose from, it may be easy to pass this one up, but don't! It'll give you those napoleon and cream puff vibes.

It's in a strip mall that has a few dining options so this makes it a perfect breakfast and lunchtime treat. They are only open until 2, I believe so make sure you go on the earlier side. I have had a croissant sandwich which was so good and many pastries since that event. My favorite and the one I keep coming back to is the lemon curd cruffin. A croissant muffin combination which is so crispy flakey and delicious. The staff is always nice and answers my questions. Parking is easy. There a few tables outside shared with the Mexican and Japanese restaurants next door.

Others have shared how stellar the customer service is, and we couldn't agree more. Sophia instantly made us feel at home and had us smiling and laughing with her the entire time we were there. We left feeling like our cups were full. :) She let us know their family owned business has been in the community for 40+ years and after trying the donuts it's obvious why. All of the donuts were super fresh, extremely fluffy, and so tasty, while the case and the rest of the shop was well maintained and clean...it's obvious a great amount of heart and care goes into their operation. We chose a variety of apple fritters, donut holes, old fashions, custard-filled, glazed, chocolate, maple, and a cinnamon crunch, cinnamon roll, and sugar twist donut along with a breakfast sandwich. Talk about choices! I mentioned to Sophia that I had a certain allergy and she immediately offered to special make a modified breakfast option for me without hesitation. We'll definitely be regulars moving forward - support local!

The cashier let me know that the apple fritters I was looking at were fresh out of the oven and still warm, so I had to try those and they were the best apple fritters I've ever had! (Fresh is always better, of course). But we also tried their blueberry cake donuts, maple bars, glazed old fashions, and a few others and all were very soft, luscious, and just a perfect version of that type of donut. I have high standards for baked goods and it only took touching one of their classic sugar covered donuts and feeling just how pillowy soft it was to know they have an amazing rise and fantastic quality. I will be returning here from now on for all my donuts!! The shop is cute inside too. They have small tables for eating your purchase afterwards and offer coffee and tea. It doesn't feel like you're in the way here and the service was incredibly friendly and welcoming. No critiques whatsoever!

Entering: Never greeted let alone not acknowledged until it became barely. As someone who has worked all types of jobs, going as far back as when I was a teen myself - this is important. The two youngest ladies, at the register, were deep in their gossip that I doubt they noticed we walked in; only customers. I tried to get their attention but to no avail until I walked over and stood in front on them where their conversation had to be cut short. One of the young girls look a smidgen annoyed while the other was trying to rush to get my order. Quality of goods: I ordered a chocolate chip cookie, to share later with my girls and orders sometime raspberry for my teen son that he could enjoy later on break. The cookie was huge, yes, but nothing that beats the moist and chewy cookies I make myself at home, which I can't currently do since my kitchen is beinf remodeled. I asked my son on his bougie donut, later in the day, and he did the so-so hand and gave it an ok and dry. At end: we will stick to SK for service and quality.

The layered dough is perfectly soft, buttery, and crispy at the same time -- unlike any regular donut. Every flavor we tried was absolutely incredible, especially the French Toast and Churro. You can truly tell they put passion into everything they make. The service was just as amazing as the donuts. The staff was welcoming, friendly, patient, and made the whole experience feel warm and inviting from the moment we walked in. Even when busy, they kept a smile on their faces and treated everyone with kindness. The location is beautiful and perfect as well, right in the heart of Oceanside with such a great atmosphere. Whether you're grabbing coffee in the morning or treating yourself after a beach walk, this place feels special. Parlor Doughnuts is more than just a donut shop, it's an experience. Easily the best donuts in Oceanside and one of the best dessert spots in all of San Diego County. Highly recommend to anyone visiting or living nearby.

Yes, I'm a nerd. A nerd who watches entirely too many cooking competition shows. So that's the…read moregrain of salt you can take this review with. My fiancée & I had seen Parlor Doughnuts numerous times after the Oceanside Sunset Market. & every single 1 of those times, we were already too full from grazing at all the food stands by then to give it a try. So on a Saturday afternoon, when we just happened to be nearby, we popped in for some impulse buy doughnuts. With a staggering variety of delicious looking toppings/ flavors, the possibilities looked enticingly intriguing. Staff behind the counter was friendly attentive, & helpful. Although there are some savory options available, which seemed to me like pizza toppings on doughnuts, we stuck with sweet: maple bacon & bourbon caramel. Tried & true flavor combinations, both. But the dough, whoa. For starters, the 2 doughnuts we got didn't have holes. That actually makes a difference in how the doughnut cooks. Secondly, the dough ate more like bread dough than a doughnut. Doughnuts have a hole for a reason. You see, it's physics, son. When you consider how thermodynamics affects an oblate spheroid vs. a toroidal sphere, it becomes evident that a doughnut without a hole will not cook evenly throughout inside. In fact, this was specifically proven on MasterChef Canada Season 8, Episode 8 during a doughnut pressure test. In that episode, Andres forgot to put holes in his doughnuts & they were undercooked in the center. Hey, I did start this review with admitting I'm a nerd who watches too many cooking competition shows. Uniform doneness aside, there was also the breadiness. If I'd been told these doughnuts were some kind of new take on Pan Dulce, maybe I would've liked them more. But given the expectation of a doughnut, what I tried at Parlor Doughnuts just wasn't it. The staff was great, & the toppings were fine. But with the word "dough" literally in the name of the product, to come up short there leaves something to be desired.
