So this little cute shop is located in Carlsbad Village. We came on a Saturday morning at around 11am and it was pretty easy to find parking . There was a large lot maybe 1 block away that we parked at and then walked in from there. Inside, there was a line but it moved pretty fast. The donuts on display look so gooddd, we had to try one even though I was originally there for coffee. Person behind the donut area was really nice with great customer service! Cashier was the same! They have a little water stand you can get some water from too which was nice after chowing down on the donut. The donut itself was so good. Right amount of fluffiness and taste and crispiness. The donuts are still beautiful and food good but their service has really gone downhill. Two girls at the counter chatting when I walked in. It took a moment to get their attention. I smiled and commented on the donuts and that broke their gossipy reverie. One immediately walked away like she couldn't be bothered to work, only a paid gossiper. There was no one in the store other than me. She rung me up with a flat attitude like she just got out of jail and was miserable. Her name is Bre. I ordered a dirty chai. With two other items. She wouldn't give a to go box like they usually do. It came off super cheap. She told me to just cover it with a lid even tho I told her I had a dog in the car that would eat it and it was chocolate sprinkle. Traditionally they stop and make the coffee and then move on to the next guest. She was in a really bad mood so she kept taking donut orders until about 5 guests deep. Then she got 2 other coffee orders so she stopped to make coffee. About 10 to 15 minutes after I paid for my other order she makes my dirty chai. A kid and a mom are right by the counter. The kid grabs my drink and spills it on the counter and on the floor. She sees this. It's right in front of her. She says oh no that's not yours. Then she wipes it off and tries to pass it off to me like I didn't see. I said no, you're not going to re make it? She goes no, it's not my fault he spilled it. I was like I want a refund. She goes why. I'm like the drink spilled and you didn't even offer or try to remake it. This place had really gone downhill. Service is awful. The donuts look nice but they've been sitting out and are stale. The same with crossaint I had. I would not go back here anymore. Awful experience. Drove out of my way to come here today. It's a shame. This place used to be really friendly and fresh and top of the line customer service, Management needs to rework things before they completely go downhill but it seems they are already there. read more

Visit 5/12 around 12:30-ish I typically go to small mom/pop shops, like SK Donuts in O'side, but because my high school junior is doing an IT school required internship, down on state, I figured we stop here to maybe treat him to after he had lunch. Entering: Never greeted let alone not acknowledged until it became barely. As someone who has worked all types of jobs, going as far back as when I was a teen myself - this is important. The two youngest ladies, at the register, were deep in their gossip that I doubt they noticed we walked in; only customers. I tried to get their attention but to no avail until I walked over and stood in front on them where their conversation had to be cut short. One of the young girls look a smidgen annoyed while the other was trying to rush to get my order. Quality of goods: I ordered a chocolate chip cookie, to share later with my girls and orders sometime raspberry for my teen son that he could enjoy later on break. The cookie was huge, yes, but nothing that beats the moist and chewy cookies I make myself at home, which I can't currently do since my kitchen is beinf remodeled. I asked my son on his bougie donut, later in the day, and he did the so-so hand and gave it an ok and dry. At end: we will stick to SK for service and quality. read more

Everytime I go to the farmers market in Carlsbad I have to stop by The Goods for my donuts and coffee. They are excellent and great quality, flavor and freshness. It is very pleasant to be there with the flowers and nice people who are not attached to the phones but just enjoying good conversations. You can also get some nice cards and merch for last minute gifts. I likw the color palette of the coffee shop and the comfortable green seating area as well as the tables. Definitely deserving of the name! This place has The Goods!!! The donuts were delicious and still warm. Tried the seasonal lemon berry. The inside lemon filling was tart and sweet. And the berry topping was divine! The apple fritter was perfectly cooked with sweet chunky apple filling. Only warning is it's very sweet - as a donut should be. Almost ordered another but glad we didn't as 1.5 sweet treats was perfect - filling and sugary. The staff was friendly and helpful. Was pleasant to sit inside and enjoy the sweet treats. On our second lap of the booths, we visit The Goods for coffee and a doughnut and a short rest at one of their tables. The waitstaff is helpful, pleasant, and attentive even though they are very busy with customers and restocking doughnuts. One goes to the counter for order, payment, and pickup as in many coffee shops. It just feels local and we enjoyed the nostalgia and the respite. North County Donut Tour - Stop 1: As someone who lives in SD proper, I almost never have a reason to go far, far away up to N County. But I've had my eye on some donut shops up there for a while so decided "will travel for donuts," and visited the farthest one away first. The Goods has a unique selection of flavors and many overall options. The key lime pie filled donut caught my eye since I rarely see this flavor, and am a sucker for a meringue topping. Got the passionfruit guava per employee recommendation and the brown butter sea salt. The toasted meringue on the key lime pie donut was scrumptious and I enjoyed the tartness of the curd filling. However it definitely tasted like quality lemon curd, not key lime. The guava passionfruit was a miss because there was so little filling and I didn't taste any assertive passionfruit note. I did like the cream cheese fruity frosting on top but there was just too much plain doughnut left over so this one didn't deliver for me. But the overall winner was definitely the much humbler looking brown butter sea salt. The crumb was extra moist, and the flavor notes were harmonious. read more

I am a die hard SideCar fan, so I had high expectations coming in...especially with the reviews. The Goods is waking distance from the massage spa we come down to Carlsbad for. I dropped my wife off and decided to take a quick 5 minute stroll with my toddler to donut shop. I was impressed with the variety of donuts and type of donuts they offered. We decided to go with what seemed to be their largest donut (at least from my POV), a good ol Apple Fritter ($6). It was nice and warm when they handed us the fritter. I was again impressed by the size of it. It was well worth the price. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. I kept seeing people constantly coming in and out, and not only for their donuts but for some coffee as well. Wow, very fresh baked goods. Don't hesitate just make the stop here. Parking is along the street which may get busy depending on when you arrive as the parking is shared between many businesses. We stopped in for a sweet treat as we had some time. The place was really crowded, a good sign. The line moves at a pretty decent pace as it's only as quick as the people in front of you and how long they decide to take to pick their donuts and other baked goods. While you are waiting, you can get a sneak peek in the kitchen. Donuts here appear to be the main staple and perhaps what they started with as it's a plenty, even gluten free ones! I'm not sure if the flavors rotate but they have a good variety that should satisfy just about anyone. In addition there were other pastries, cookies and desserts to add to your donuts. I read about The Goods from another Yelpie's great review. While my eldest daughter and I were staying in Carlsbad, we had to come here and check out The Goods goods. We arrived about 30 mins before closing time. Yes, they close early like around 4:00 PM or until all goods are gone. It's a quaint donut and baked goods shop with great decor and good inside bench seating. There are outside seating as well. They have a variety of classic and unique donut flavors. By the time we got here, there were limited donuts and other baked goods left. The lady who helped us was very nice and friendly. I asked her for any best sellers. Glazed round was one of them. Seasonal Berry was another favorite. I was debating between the Glazed and Seasonal Berry. I went with the Glazed. I have been wanting to find a Boston Cream Pie. Well, I found a Boston Cream donut so I had to get it LOL. The lady was kind to throw in the Seasonal Berry on the house just so I can try it. Thank you so much miss! I appreciate the sweet gift. Wow, all 3 donuts were amazing! None of them were overly sweet... just perfect! Glazed donut was soft. Berry filling was abundant. Cream filling was quite tasty. Hadn't been here for a while, so we wanted to try it again. Ordered the jalapeño, ham and cheese croissant and it was the bomb! Flaky layers with plenty of kick! It was suggested we try the brown butter doughnut so we did. My wife and I had mixed reviews. We'll have to go back and try it again. Any time I'm in Carlsbad, I drop by b my favorite donut shop. Staff are always friendly. Today, Amelia was a standout! She was patient. She threw in 2 free Crueller donuts too! I found The Goods through Yelp and knew it was going to be amazing based off the amount of r5 star reviews. The Goods did not disappoint! We went around 10am on a Saturday morning. It was busy, but the line moved quickly. The interior of the donut shop is modern and inviting. It's much "fancier" than most donut shops. There were some inconsistencies between their website menu, instagram menu, and what they actually had in store. They had a variety of donuts and pastries to choose from. Some flavors were sold out and unavailable to get. Some flavors that were sold out came out while we were there. They also have a handful of gluten free donut options. There is also a drink menu with coffee drinks. We decided to try the Samoa, brown butter, seasonal berry, apple fritter, chocolate ganache, and the cinnamon roll. The Samoa and brown butter were good, but not our favorites and would probably not get these next time. They were both cake donuts and a little dry. We would definitely get the cinnamon roll, apple fritter, seasonal berry, and chocolate ganache again. The yeast donuts were fresh, soft, and fluffy. The cinnamon roll had a lot of cream cheese frosting and was the biggest cinnamon roll I've ever seen. It is great for sharing. The seasonal berry was filled with triple berry jam and it was delicious. The chocolate ganache was rich and definitely for a chocolate lover. This donut came out hot and fresh.
