Definitely deserving of the name! This place has The Goods!!! The donuts were delicious and still warm. Tried the seasonal lemon berry. The inside lemon filling was tart and sweet. And the berry topping was divine! The apple fritter was perfectly cooked with sweet chunky apple filling. Only warning is it's very sweet - as a donut should be. Almost ordered another but glad we didn't as 1.5 sweet treats was perfect - filling and sugary. The staff was friendly and helpful. Was pleasant to sit inside and enjoy the sweet treats. Was a nice flow of customers, never busy or noisy. Highly recommend for those with a sweet tooth!

Guava passionfruit, key lime, brown butter, fritter

North County Donut Tour - Stop 1: As someone who lives in SD proper, I almost never have a reason to go far, far away up to N County. But I've had my eye on some donut shops up there for a while so decided "will travel for donuts," and visited the farthest one away first. The Goods has a unique selection of flavors and many overall options. The key lime pie filled donut caught my eye since I rarely see this flavor, and am a sucker for a meringue topping. Got the passionfruit guava per employee recommendation and the brown butter sea salt. The toasted meringue on the key lime pie donut was scrumptious and I enjoyed the tartness of the curd filling. However it definitely tasted like quality lemon curd, not key lime. The guava passionfruit was a miss because there was so little filling and I didn't taste any assertive passionfruit note. I did like the cream cheese fruity frosting on top but there was just too much plain doughnut left over so this one didn't deliver for me. But the overall winner was definitely the much humbler looking brown butter sea salt. The crumb was extra moist, and the flavor notes were harmonious.

Bottom left clockwise: apple fritter, cruller, chocolate eclair thingy , berry, maple bacon and the one filled with a Nutella foam/creme.

Nice people, very clean, good donuts. We selected 6 donuts and 3 out of the six were bangers. For the most part the donuts were light and airy. The bangers were the chocolate eclair type one, the Nutella foam filled and maple bacon donuts. $32 for 6 donuts makes a me a bit picky, but I probably wouldn't get the French cruller or seasonal berry donuts again. I definitely wouldn't get the apple fritter a second time.

Delicious. Kind service. Fun Art Deco kind of vibe. A must try at least once. Highly recommend the jalapeño croissant and anything seasonal. Not cheap, but a fun one time experience or treat.

GLAZE AND GRIND (some words of wisdom on their wall) The Goods was very cutesy and vibrant, the type of coffee shop/donut place that fits in with the carlsbad boutiques! they had a variety of donuts (even gluten free, vegan ones!). I went in to get a fun drink. I ordered an oat milk matcha latte with vanilla, and when i asked for it to be a little sweeter, the staff accommodated. there are tables inside and outside, making it a fun place to lounge. i will def being coming back!

Went in for the avocado toast, left with a box full of donuts Walking the streets of Carlsbad, I noticed this little spot and took a mental note to return in the morning. I thought it was more of a breakfast place, but to my pleasant surprise it's a delicious donut spot! They make fresh donuts right in front of you with gluten free options as well. Don't sleep on the massive cinnamon rolls either, my kids loved it! There was a bit of a line when I went in, but it moved fast and they weren't running out of donuts. There was enough for everyone. I still ordered the avocado toast and was really happy with it. Fresh sourdough bread and great flavor with the avocado and a savory oil drizzle. The spot is on the smaller side, but there was plenty of space to find a seat. Cute inviting ambiance, definitely a must stop. Donuts travel well too. I took these home to Ventura county for my family!

I am a die hard SideCar fan, so I had high expectations coming in...especially with the reviews. The Goods is waking distance from the massage spa we come down to Carlsbad for. I dropped my wife off and decided to take a quick 5 minute stroll with my toddler to donut shop. I was impressed with the variety of donuts and type of donuts they offered. We decided to go with what seemed to be their largest donut (at least from my POV), a good ol Apple Fritter ($6). It was nice and warm when they handed us the fritter. I was again impressed by the size of it. It was well worth the price. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. I kept seeing people constantly coming in and out, and not only for their donuts but for some coffee as well. I plan on venturing out next time and trying one of their other flavorful donuts.

These donuts are so good!!! But you have to get them warm! Go early to get the best options. This place is busy!! Minimal seating inside and outside. Plenty of flavor options.

I read about The Goods from another Yelpie's great review. While my eldest daughter and I were staying in Carlsbad, we had to come here and check out The Goods goods. We arrived about 30 mins before closing time. Yes, they close early like around 4:00 PM or until all goods are gone. It's a quaint donut and baked goods shop with great decor and good inside bench seating. There are outside seating as well. They have a variety of classic and unique donut flavors. By the time we got here, there were limited donuts and other baked goods left. The lady who helped us was very nice and friendly. I asked her for any best sellers. Glazed round was one of them. Seasonal Berry was another favorite. I was debating between the Glazed and Seasonal Berry. I went with the Glazed. I have been wanting to find a Boston Cream Pie. Well, I found a Boston Cream donut so I had to get it LOL. The lady was kind to throw in the Seasonal Berry on the house just so I can try it. Thank you so much miss! I appreciate the sweet gift. Wow, all 3 donuts were amazing! None of them were overly sweet... just perfect! Glazed donut was soft. Berry filling was abundant. Cream filling was quite tasty. We both enjoyed all of them very much. Pricing was about $4 - $5 per donut. Yeah, they are premium donuts at premium prices and that's okay. Sometimes we have to pay a little bit more for great quality goods. Believe the hype is for real! I highly recommend The Goods as it truly delivers the goods. Very grateful for The Goods! Will come back to indulge in their other unique donut flavors.

Cute little donut shop in downtown Carlsbad with indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy all your baked goods. We came on a Sunday morning and there was a decent selection of donuts (including gluten free options) and croissants. I tried the apple fritter and smores donut and enjoyed both. The apple fritter had a crisp exterior with large apple pieces inside the chewy interior. The smores donut was a yeast donut that was both aesthetically pleasing as it was delicious.

    Amy P.

Popped into The Goods late morning to get some sweets after breakfast. Limited savory options available at the time, but there were still lots of sweet options. I laid my eyes on the Apple Fritters and immediately knew I had to get one. We were also recommended the Vermont Maple and picked up a few other items as well to try. The Apple Fritter had a nice crunch along the edges and a soft and slightly chewy interior. The fritter is a shareable size especially because it's quite sweet - not sure I could eat the entire thing myself! Would be great paired with a coffee. Small shop with limited indoor and outdoor seating available.

Do they have a creme brûlée donut?

I have not seen that one, but they're website does list what they usually have. They might switch out flavors but not totally sure when.

    Do you have Vegan donuts?

Yes, they did offer at least one Vegan option during our visit.

I see there are gluten-free donuts but are there donuts that are gluten-free and dairy-free? Or is it just one or the other?

They have both! Like 4-5 GF options and maybe 1-2 GF/vegan

    Do they do online orders?

My wife searched for an online order system and didn't find one. However, you can pre-order a pickup by phone. It's the best way to beat those weekend lines if you want more than a doughnut or two.

Does this business sell the donuts as a dozen?

Do they offer low carb donut?

Not that I saw. They have gluten free and vegan, but low carb is a tough one! There would be a lot of money for someone who invented a good tasting low carb donut :-)

So, we get there and see a pretty good and see a steady line coming out the door, okay cool. However in what we tried it's just an okay spot. I would say they have a great business model and have cool merch and crazy cool art and stuff but the drinks weren't anything special like what we expected. My wife got the matcha latte with honey and it was not well made. Seems like they feel more is better when it comes to putting matcha in the drink. More is not better. It just makes the matcha taste like grass. Ground powdered matcha is basically a concentrate and needs to be treated that way. Had my review been just on her drink it would be a one star. Her drink is exactly why a lot of people say matcha is not good. A well made matcha should be delicious. I got a vanilla latte and it was just okay. Tasted fine but wasn't anything that would have me wanted to come back for more. I do have to give it to them for the latte artwork as they do great on that. But the drink was just okay. We also got an heirloom blueberry and corn scone which was good but the corn makes it a bit gritty like corn bread, which I like although it could throw someone off if they are not expecting it. The other pastries all looked pretty good and we saw some breakfast sandwiches coming out that did look good too.
