First and foremost, I reside in San Diego, and the drive to this place is absolutely worth it. I must admit, I'm not a matcha enthusiast. However, my friends from North County highly recommended this establishment and kindly invited me to join them. The outdoor seating is spacious and inviting, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Revolution Roasters is one of my absolute favorite coffee spots in Oceanside. Is the parking a challenge? Absolutely. But it's 100% worth it. This place has such a loyal following that people will happily walk a few blocks just to get their Revo fix. One of my favorite things is their seasonal menu. I've learned to fully embrace each special while it's here because once it's gone, it's gone. Right now, I'm completely obsessed with the Coconut Mango Sticky Rice Matcha. I'm pretty sure the baristas recognize me as "the Sticky Rice Matcha lady" at this point! I'm soaking up every sip while it's in season, and although I'll be sad when it's gone, I know they'll surprise me with something amazing next season. Their food is just as impressive. The toast is delicious, they use Prager Brothers bread, organic avocado, and fresh tomatoes, and you can really taste the difference that quality ingredients make. It's refreshing to find a café that clearly cares about food integrity. Another huge bonus for me is that they offer almond milk. So many coffee shops default to oat milk, but I appreciate having another option that fits my preferences. The only downside is the parking. My strategy is simple: go early if you can. Once it gets busy, finding a spot can be an adventure. But even with that minor inconvenience, Revolution Roasters is absolutely worth the trip. Of the 3 pastries were ordered, I was only really a fan of the pistachio cake. The pistachio was savory but paired with the cream cheese frosting on top it was a sweet and salty treat that stood out as a clear winner. Revolution Roasters never misses. Great service, coastal vibe, and great drinks! This visit, I tried both of their seasonal summer drinks: the Mango Sticky Rice Matcha and the Campfire Latte. The Mango Sticky Rice Matcha had mango, coconut, and a coconut foam. The coconut flavor was absolutely delicious, but personally, I wanted a stronger matcha presence - it leaned a little too milky for my taste. If you're more into creamy tropical drinks, though, you'll probably love it. The surprise winner for me was the Campfire Latte. I'm usually not a mocha girl, but this one totally changed my mind. I ordered it half sweet, and it was perfect - smooth and balanced! The spiced dark chocolate paired so well with the marshmallow cold foam and graham cracker topping, and I especially loved the warm spices throughout the drink. Next time, I could definitely see myself ordering a cold brew with that marshmallow foam. Not pictured: the ham & cheese croissant, which is a must-order every single time I'm here. We visited Carlsbad for a few days and had breakfast in Oceanside. We decided to try this coffee spot as it was right next to the breakfast joint we went to. Coffee 10/10 We ordered their vanilla latte with marshmallow cold foam and their coconut latte with toasted coconut cold foam. Both were incredible! The vanilla latte was not too sweet so the cold foam wasn't overkill at all. Both cold foams are more on the runny side and not too thick. The coconut latte was sooo tasteful. The coconut flavor definitely comes through. This was our first time trying a coconut latte and we were not disappointed. Food 9/10 We didn't order much food or pastries since we had breakfast prior but the pastries did look so good! We did get a salted shortbread to try and it was pretty solid. Vibes/Ambiance : 7/10 We came on a Tuesday morning and it was busy. The space is very spacious and there's plenty of seating area. There were people working there and hanging out. It's an open space so that was nice. The decor is minimal but cute. The staff is okay...I don't know if I'd describe as friendly, but they weren't rude. Not sure if it was the city as a whole but we didn't really feel welcomed or came across too many friendly people. It was the same here. My morning coffee run to Revolution Roasters fell a bit flat. The coffee was okay and the staff were pleasant, but I didn't leave satisfied. Our main goal of the morning was to try PopUp bagel around the corner, and we needed coffee for the line. We ordered the Coconut Latte & the Maple Latte. They were decent, but with the $1.25 up charge for almond milk, the two drinks were over $8. At that price point, my expectations are high and unfortunately they just weren't met. There's nothing inherently wrong with the coffee at Revolution Roasters so I wouldn't mind giving them another shot. Hopefully a better experience here is in my future. read more

I drove up to go to Boomers for a school event, and yes, I hit some traffic in the afternoon. The drive made me sleepy, so on my way back, since now the traffic was heavier, I looked for some place to grab a coffee. Revolution came up and was close. Right off of Vista Way in Oceanside. Scored a spot right in front...must've been kismit! They have the regular coffees but also some signature drinks as well. But it looks like there's some seasonal coffees too. Friendly hello when it was my turn. Me: So what do you think, butterscotch or pistachio? He: I would say pistachio because sometimes the butterscotch is too sweet for some. Pistachio it was! So definitely inquire about the seasonal coffees because this was delicious! Great flavor and dark chocolate shavings on top. This helped keep me awake on my long drive home! Love that they're local! Also bought The Colores blend which they happily ground for me, and it is really good! Mellow flavor with a hint of dark chocolate finish. I am always on the hunt for amazing espresso when I travel. My research turned up Revolution Roasters as a top spot in Oceanside and it did not disappoint. There's ample seating inside and outside. The interior space and vibe is clean and spacious. They have a lot of great coffee options and their baked goods and breakfast options are outstanding. The Blueberry sweet corn scone was so good that I had to buy a second one for breakfast the next day. The Avocado and pickled onion toast and breakfast sandwich were also delicious. We LOVE the vibe of this place and really want to love it but we left disappointed today. After spending over $70 on two coffees, three sandwiches, and two danishes- they do not warm up foods they serve cold. The turkey pesto sandwich, ham and cheese croissant, and banana bread, and monkey bread were all cold, and they would not warm them up. It was disappointing as my sandwich alone was $14 and it was too hard to chew without it being warmed up. I would have also loved to have had warm banana bread and warm monkey bread instead of cold. I will say that the Breakfast sandwich was excellent! I wish I had ordered it. (Sorry I didn't get a picture of that one.) I do think it is important to add that when management saw my disappointment, they were very kind and swift to resolve it. Wow, what a 5/5 spot! We tried drinks off the Winter menu and opted for the cinnamon roll cold brew foam on top. I found myself slipping back into the mannerisms of a 5 year old and only sipping the cold foam off the top, bc damn it was THAT delicious. Though my love of that cinnamon roll foam may lead you to believe otherwise, I don't love overly sweet coffee. The drinks here let the coffee shine first and are sweetened an appropriate amount. IMO, it rides that perfect blend for a coffee treat out! My husband and I split an avocado tomato toast and were surprised it came with 2 slices! For $13, I expected a single toast, so we felt that given the market norm - the 2 slices of sourdough with avo and tomato felt like a bang for our buck. (I KNOW, but late stage capitalism, ya know?) The sourdough was buttery and crunchy and the tomato and avo plentiful. The space was cute, service welcoming, and the whole vibe was very down to earth and low key. There were quite a few people studying and the other patrons in the space were respectful of the quiet vibe. There's outdoor seating out front for the more lively crowd too. I decided to try their seasonal favorites - Honey Comb Latte with Honey Comb Foam (5/10) & a ham and cheese croissant (9/10) . I did like how fast the service was but with the first sip it felt as if I was drinking a plant , had an odd flavor. The cold foam was also not thick, more of a watery base and didn't take that great. My husband and I came here on a Sunday morning. There was a long line but it moved ar a reasonable pace. There's street parking and outside seating as well as inside. I ordered a small lavender honey latte (w/1/2 the syrup and almond milk) and my husband ordered the seasonal drip coffee. The seasonal coffee was ready by the time payment was made. The latte came out pretty quick so they seemed to have nailed down their process. We placed our order to go. To food looked pretty good but we didn't order any this time. My husband said his seasonal drip didn't have much flavor and is only offered as a small size, so he found this to be limiting. I wasn't fond of the flavor of my latte. I'm testing a new theory...and it's that anyone who is willing to invest in a Slayer espresso machine, they care a lot about their beans. So stop four on my Slayer-theory tour is Revolution Roasters. And so far, my theory is testing mostly true. An add-on to my excellent-coffee-shop-theory as of recent has been if the barista asks me if I'd like soda water with my espresso. Revolution has both- the Slayer and the soda water question. And the result? Probably the best cup of espresso in San Diego. I'd say the only one that really holds a candle to Revolution is Lofty's single-origin Ethiopian roast, but you have to go down to Encinitas to get your hands on that. Bottom line, Revolution is a special place and I would go out of my way for this espresso again. read more

I had an iced butterscotch latte with oat milk because I was very curious what it would taste like. I was honestly a little disappointed because it just tasted very diluted and milky :( maybe it was just the milk, they use oatly. I don't drink that brand often so I'm not sure how it affects drinks. What a sweet spot. We walked from our lodging on a lovely drizzly day only to be greeted by the friendliest and most welcoming spot. This place has terrific coffee, lovely hot cocoa, and an assortment of pastries that were absolutely divine.
