Beautiful Koi pond with Red Slider turtles & small Minnow fish under the walkway by the seating area

Nestled in between business buildings in a kiosk, this coffee place is a hidden gem for the true coffee connoisseurs. No fluff here. During the time we went, 10:30am on Monday, there were plenty of parking all around the building where it is located. And only a couple people in the seating area by the koi pond. It was so quiet and peaceful. Only the sound of water pouring into the pond. A family owned business, Reuben the owner, knows his craft. He is so kind to explain all the variations of the pour-over menu items and we definitely tasted what we happily expected. Their coffees are SO good!! And the matcha latte surpassed my daughter's expectations and LOVED her drink. Perfectly balanced. Reuben's daughter, Paola, working with him, was equally friendly and helpful with the other menu items as well. We tried the jalapeño ham & cheddar croissant & the ham & swiss croissant, both were toasted in a panini press. Delicious! And the chocolate chip cookie, lightly salted. SO thick & good! Overall, it was a great experience. Not a huge menu but quality items. It's definitely top notch and we're going back!! Also I might add, they're only open til 2:00pm on the weekdays, closed at this location on the weekends because they're at farmer's markets.

Coffee: I'm really not the type to exaggerate, but this was the best iced coffee I've had in a while. Several different types of beans are available if you prefer specific regions/flavors over others. Food: Ham & Swiss Croissant was excellent. Freshly made, and it was carefully cut evenly in the middle for convenient eating. Service: Super nice guy. Went out of his way to suggest one coffee type over another given what I was going for and time of day. Parking: Plenty. Parking lot adjacent to corporate offices. Seating: Outdoor 4-person tables next to the coffee shop. Umbrellas and overhead shade, a few sets of comfy lounge chairs. Vibe: Koi pond with ducks, turtles, etc with a mini bridge connecting the parking lot to the shop really set the mood. Perfect for solo adventures as well as datesn, casual studying/relaxing. Best for sunny weather days.

Origen is definitely not in a place you'd expect to find a coffee shop but it has quickly become one of my favorites. There aren't any fancy flavors, but you don't need them when the drink is made perfectly. Service is always fantastic and there's a neat Koi pond next to the coffee stand where you can enjoy your coffee. They aren't open on weekends, but that's because they're usually at the Vista farmers market.

When you find amazing coffee in a business park across the street from a local airport you know you are winning! I could have stayed a had more coffee! This place will be on my list whenever I visit the area and I am looking forward to ordering some beans online!

Can't speak on the espresso, but had a pleasant drip coffee here. Located between many different corporate offices, which means there's plenty of seating around. If I were in the area more, it'd be a great option for working or conversation. Owner is super friendly and really knows his way around the beans and their origin. All the flavor notes and origin details are listed, and you can buy small bags directly from him. I'm more than willing to pay for coffee from here than any big chain.

Today being "National Coffee Day" and all, we couldn't resist the urge to try a new place and that led us to Origen Coffee Roasters. Tucked in between several office buildings, this quaint little place keeps it simple with limited menu options and outdoor seating only. While this isn't the place you camp out for the day because of the free Wifi and background music, this is a great option if you need a quick infusion of caffeine while juggling many things on a busy day. And that's...Henry's Take. #carlsbadcoffee

Fragrant coffee. Not bitter. Well balanced. Will definitely return to get more when in the area. Yummier than the chain coffee shops.

So, we get there and see a pretty good and see a steady line coming out the door, okay cool. However in what we tried it's just an okay spot. I would say they have a great business model and have cool merch and crazy cool art and stuff but the drinks weren't anything special like what we expected. My wife got the matcha latte with honey and it was not well made. Seems like they feel more is better when it comes to putting matcha in the drink. More is not better. It just makes the matcha taste like grass. Ground powdered matcha is basically a concentrate and needs to be treated that way. Had my review been just on her drink it would be a one star. Her drink is exactly why a lot of people say matcha is not good. A well made matcha should be delicious. I got a vanilla latte and it was just okay. Tasted fine but wasn't anything that would have me wanted to come back for more. I do have to give it to them for the latte artwork as they do great on that. But the drink was just okay. We also got an heirloom blueberry and corn scone which was good but the corn makes it a bit gritty like corn bread, which I like although it could throw someone off if they are not expecting it. The other pastries all looked pretty good and we saw some breakfast sandwiches coming out that did look good too.

Walking up there was a bit of a line but it was moving at a fair pace. It gave us the opportunity to really read the menu above the register well. There's both outdoor and indoor seating. And both areas were pretty full with a bustling vibe. There were specialty drinks so I wanted to try the Pistachio latte but they were out so we ended up trying the Left Coast latte, Vanilla Bean latte, a plain bagel and Lil Dippers. The lattes were wonderful. Smooth and tasty. The Lil Dippers (mini burritos) were pretty substantial and the plain bagel surprisingly was the best we've ever had at any coffee place. SO good! Great taste and perfect texture. It was unfortunate though that the cream cheese cup that comes with it didn't suffice. It wasn't at all enough for a good ratio. And to think that at one point my bagel was forgotten by the employees. I would've missed out! Overall, we're so glad we went, it was worth it!

The people behind the counter we eloquent and efficient along with being kind and patient. My wife was pretty indecisive and they worked with us till she finally knew what she wanted. The whole reason we went though was for coffee and we were FAR from disappointed. We got the Blood Orange Basil Latte and the Blackberry Vanilla Latte and both tasted perfect, each sip of the Blood Orange Basil had a nice scent of basil with the leaf in there. The drink itself is delicious, but not sure if I would come every week for this price (personally). Maybe just once in a while! The interior space got revamped so that the workers have more wiggle room, that was cool to see. I didn't see much else that changed though-- oh besides that and the prices. The week before, I ordered the $7.25 Iced Blood Orange Basil Latte (seasonal special). I was eager to try it because I do enjoy citrus notes with my coffee. But this one lacked the flavors I was hoping to taste. It was all too subtle for me. I wouldn't order it again, but it was nice to try. 4-5 stars! Overall, I've enjoyed my many visits to 7 Seas Roasting & been here through many changes. I do think the coffee drinks are pretty solid and would recommend checking out their seasonal specials when they have them. My top favorites would be: dark mocha raspberry, banana split latte, and the thin mint latte. If you ever see these on the menu, I highly recommend trying them! They have ample seating, outdoors only. The baristas are alll very kind too. It's a great place to spend your time at.
