Revolution Roasters is one of my absolute favorite coffee spots in Oceanside. Is the parking a challenge? Absolutely. But it's 100% worth it. This place has such a loyal following that people will happily walk a few blocks just to get their Revo fix. One of my favorite things is their seasonal menu. I've learned to fully embrace each special while it's here because once it's gone, it's gone. Right now, I'm completely obsessed with the Coconut Mango Sticky Rice Matcha. I'm pretty sure the baristas recognize me as "the Sticky Rice Matcha lady" at this point! I'm soaking up every sip while it's in season, and although I'll be sad when it's gone, I know they'll surprise me with something amazing next season. Their food is just as impressive. The toast is delicious, they use Prager Brothers bread, organic avocado, and fresh tomatoes, and you can really taste the difference that quality ingredients make. It's refreshing to find a café that clearly cares about food integrity. Another huge bonus for me is that they offer almond milk. So many coffee shops default to oat milk, but I appreciate having another option that fits my preferences. The only downside is the parking. My strategy is simple: go early if you can. Once it gets busy, finding a spot can be an adventure. But even with that minor inconvenience, Revolution Roasters is absolutely worth the trip. Incredible coffee, thoughtful seasonal drinks, quality ingredients, and a team that clearly cares about what they serve. Easy five stars.
Beverages are the star of the show here. I ordered the iced coconut latte (half sweetness), its creamy coconutty deliciousness. It satisfied my latte craving while adding a tasty tropical sweetness. The cafe is gorgeous, the staffs recommendation to get half sweetness was very helpful and much appreciated. They offered to add more flavor if needed, which was so kind of them. Of the 3 pastries were ordered, I was only really a fan of the pistachio cake. The pistachio was savory but paired with the cream cheese frosting on top it was a sweet and salty treat that stood out as a clear winner. The cafe also sells coffee beans, milk glass mugs and other merch with plenty of seating inside and outside.
Revolution Roasters never misses. Great service, coastal vibe, and great drinks! This visit, I tried both of their seasonal summer drinks: the Mango Sticky Rice Matcha and the Campfire Latte. The Mango Sticky Rice Matcha had mango, coconut, and a coconut foam. The coconut flavor was absolutely delicious, but personally, I wanted a stronger matcha presence - it leaned a little too milky for my taste. If you're more into creamy tropical drinks, though, you'll probably love it. The surprise winner for me was the Campfire Latte. I'm usually not a mocha girl, but this one totally changed my mind. I ordered it half sweet, and it was perfect - smooth and balanced! The spiced dark chocolate paired so well with the marshmallow cold foam and graham cracker topping, and I especially loved the warm spices throughout the drink. Next time, I could definitely see myself ordering a cold brew with that marshmallow foam. Not pictured: the ham & cheese croissant, which is a must-order every single time I'm here. Flaky, savory, and consistently one of my favorites. Good seasonal specials and great food as always!
We visited Carlsbad for a few days and had breakfast in Oceanside. We decided to try this coffee spot as it was right next to the breakfast joint we went to. Coffee 10/10 We ordered their vanilla latte with marshmallow cold foam and their coconut latte with toasted coconut cold foam. Both were incredible! The vanilla latte was not too sweet so the cold foam wasn't overkill at all. Both cold foams are more on the runny side and not too thick. The coconut latte was sooo tasteful. The coconut flavor definitely comes through. This was our first time trying a coconut latte and we were not disappointed. Food 9/10 We didn't order much food or pastries since we had breakfast prior but the pastries did look so good! We did get a salted shortbread to try and it was pretty solid. Vibes/Ambiance : 7/10 We came on a Tuesday morning and it was busy. The space is very spacious and there's plenty of seating area. There were people working there and hanging out. It's an open space so that was nice. The decor is minimal but cute. The staff is okay...I don't know if I'd describe as friendly, but they weren't rude. Not sure if it was the city as a whole but we didn't really feel welcomed or came across too many friendly people. It was the same here. Didn't interact much with us...just took our order and kept it pushing. lol not necessarily a bad thing but it was something we experienced a lot. Overall, the coffee was amazing here.
My morning coffee run to Revolution Roasters fell a bit flat. The coffee was okay and the staff were pleasant, but I didn't leave satisfied. Our main goal of the morning was to try PopUp bagel around the corner, and we needed coffee for the line. We ordered the Coconut Latte & the Maple Latte. They were decent, but with the $1.25 up charge for almond milk, the two drinks were over $8. At that price point, my expectations are high and unfortunately they just weren't met. There's nothing inherently wrong with the coffee at Revolution Roasters so I wouldn't mind giving them another shot. Hopefully a better experience here is in my future.
I drove up to go to Boomers for a school event, and yes, I hit some traffic in the afternoon. The drive made me sleepy, so on my way back, since now the traffic was heavier, I looked for some place to grab a coffee. Revolution came up and was close. Right off of Vista Way in Oceanside. Scored a spot right in front...must've been kismit! They have the regular coffees but also some signature drinks as well. But it looks like there's some seasonal coffees too. Friendly hello when it was my turn. Me: So what do you think, butterscotch or pistachio? He: I would say pistachio because sometimes the butterscotch is too sweet for some. Pistachio it was! So definitely inquire about the seasonal coffees because this was delicious! Great flavor and dark chocolate shavings on top. This helped keep me awake on my long drive home! Love that they're local! Also bought The Colores blend which they happily ground for me, and it is really good! Mellow flavor with a hint of dark chocolate finish. I now have a great spot to stop at if in the area and in need. They have great outdoor seating that's dog friendly, and a nice dining area.
I am always on the hunt for amazing espresso when I travel. My research turned up Revolution Roasters as a top spot in Oceanside and it did not disappoint. There's ample seating inside and outside. The interior space and vibe is clean and spacious. They have a lot of great coffee options and their baked goods and breakfast options are outstanding. The Blueberry sweet corn scone was so good that I had to buy a second one for breakfast the next day. The Avocado and pickled onion toast and breakfast sandwich were also delicious. I highly recommend this spot if you're in south oceanside!!
We LOVE the vibe of this place and really want to love it but we left disappointed today. After spending over $70 on two coffees, three sandwiches, and two danishes- they do not warm up foods they serve cold. The turkey pesto sandwich, ham and cheese croissant, and banana bread, and monkey bread were all cold, and they would not warm them up. It was disappointing as my sandwich alone was $14 and it was too hard to chew without it being warmed up. I would have also loved to have had warm banana bread and warm monkey bread instead of cold. I will say that the Breakfast sandwich was excellent! I wish I had ordered it. (Sorry I didn't get a picture of that one.) I do think it is important to add that when management saw my disappointment, they were very kind and swift to resolve it. For that reason, along with the excellent coffee - I will likely try it again.
Special treat! Small menu, but everything looks good on it. There can be a long line and difficult parking. Lots of outdoor seating. Great for families and dogs.
Revo Americano! Friendly staff and yummy pastries and savory food. Visible menu was fantastic because where ever you stood inline you could decide what you wanted to order. Coffee order was quick and ambiance was very clean with an open interior concept. I Brought my Popup Bagels to Revo and enjoyed them both on the patio!

Stopped by Revolution Roasters while we were in Oceanside and enjoyed coming here on our morning walks. The coffee was good, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the shop had a really nice vibe. Service was friendly and everything came out quickly. Definitely a great coffee stop and somewhere we'd come back to next time we're in the area.
Revo Roasters has really stepped Up their game and become my fav coffee in O'side. They have the best flat-white in the game hands down. Get up, surf the harbor, grab a flat-white at Revolution Roasters, sit in the sun on their patio while I drink it and start my work day at a 10/10 in happiness.

As soon as you walk in it feels so inviting, with seats outside and in. The display of fresh baked (delicious) treats grabs your attention. And the coffee and tea are a must! Every time I make the drive back to Orange County I always make a pit stop in Oceanside to visit Revolution Roasters. This place has all the coffee shop vibes you could want, great outdoor seating and amazing customer service. The standout for me is definitely the Iced Butterscotch Latte. It's the perfect balance between sweetness and butterscotch while letting the coffee still shine through. I also think the prices are very reasonable for all their drinks and small bites. Cute little place I found through Yelp. Wasn't as eclectic as some coffeehouses but still cute. Off PCH plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Prompt service with plenty of people behind counter. Stopped by Revolution Roasters in Oceanside for a quick breakfast with my sister, and it was a great start to the day! She ordered the Ube Matcha, which was absolutely beautiful before we mixed it--then it turned into a bit of a "swamp" color, but still tasted delicious. I went with the seasonal coconut iced coffee, and while I wish it had a bit more coconut flavor, it was still really good. The highlight of our visit was definitely the smoked salmon toast--I added tomato to it, and I highly recommend doing the same. It was so fresh and flavorful! Revolution Roasters has great coffee and pastries! I decided to try a pop tart based on my friend's recommendation. Wow! It was delicious! Definitely a must a try! Their lemon poppy seed scone is scrumptious! My husband said the ham and cheese croissant was tasty as well. I also had a honey lavender latte, which was really good, smooth, and not too sweet. One of my favorite places to visit while in Oceanside. They have a lot of unique beverages and flavors crafted in-house- especially their winter spice lattes. Their pastries are awesome, but they are a bit on the sweeter side for my liking, but who doesn't enjoy a good homemade poptart. They had blood orange and maple. read more

Update as on Feb 2024 - turns out they just opened a second location in Carlsbad, just a 5 minute drive from this one. The place also looks nice so we'd have to come back to try it next time! I just like the Encinitas location better for the more open-air vibes. We came back here and realized it's one of my most favorite coffee shops in San Diego now. You don't really find a lot of cafes in town that: does amazing coffee, bake their goods in house, has an amazing kitchen menu, and has their own roastery and sell coffee bean bags. I also also love their branding which is very important to establish a business, IMO. We got one of their seasonal pop tarts this time and another one of the morning buns. I also got their seasonal orange creamsicle vanilla latte before it ends on Mar 1st. Sadly, the drink didn't taste anything like orange creamsicle. I think they just need to improve on the flavor a little bit but it was still a good vanilla latte nonetheless. read more

I tried matcha at 3 different places in Oceanside and this place was by far the best. I do a matcha americano over ice, no milk, unsweetened, so the matcha is important. This had a vibrant green color and tasted great. The food was also fantastic. We had coffee cake, a scone, a pop tart thing, and omg, the breakfast sandwich on focaccia (so good!) and the avocado toast with heirloom tomato on perfectly crunchy, chewy bread with the perfect amount of coarse salt. Their kitchen is killing it. Beautifully presented and delicious. The coffee is roasted a little light for our taste. Even with third wave sensibilities, just a little lean. Tried a dark roast PNG pour over, which I don't recommend. Their pour over game needs work. The grind was too course, the extraction too fast, and instead of a kettle for the proper temp they use the hot water from the brewer. Under extracted, not good. Barring the pour over there's a lot to like here. read more

Offers some gluten free items! They had a nut free + gluten free buckwheat banana bread that was pretty tasty. Drinks are not overly sweet and the staff was really accommodating! Bathrooms were clean too. Not great AC since they are open to the outside, but still a great place to sit in the shade, get a cold drink an bite to eat, and cool off. read more

FKN WHOA. THOSE ARE SOME GOOD BEANS. (5 stars) I love love love local roasters. - DRINKS: really good - PRICE: fair - SERVICE: good - AMBIANCE: typical This coffee shop is known amongst Oceansiders and making a name for itself. First location is in South O and starting to branch downward. Lot of people traffic, handful of skillful and friendly baristas crafting clean foam art in timely fashion. When I had questions about the roasting and the beans and their blends, I believe I either talked to the owner or manager and kept me informed. There is a bean for everyone! Most places you see medium and dark roast. Well they have decaf, light, medium, medium/dark, and dark Decaf "Minus the Edge" - Columbia Light "Holy Goat" - Ethiopia Medium "La Amiga"- Columbia Medium/dark "Giant's Head"- didn't say but I assume part Columbia part Papa NG Dark "Night Shift" - Papa New Guinea (DECAF) VANILLA LATTE ($6) - #teamdecaf. You only know I take my decaf beans only if they are Swiss Water Processed (or mountain water processed). This is the go-to when you want to be basic. With whole milk, I like the fatty and creamy taste (I can't do that oat milk stuff). Took this hot as hot always allows me to sip and taste instead of quench thirst with bigger gulps. Their vanilla syrup is made in-house and uses real vanilla beans which is also visible in the drink. You can see the fresh vanilla bean specs in your drink. Omg leveling up! It's subtle where my drink doesn't taste full on vanilla. This allowed me to taste the flavor profile of their decaf beans without searching. The bean was very very very smooth and no tartness or acidity- as with most decaf. I immediately identified chocolate and had to take a few sips to taste a little bit of sweetness/fruity yet buttery aftertaste... like toasted marshmallow. Although warm outside, I enjoyed every warm sip on a warm day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND I've learned to identify this flavor because I love s'mores and burning the crap out of my marshmallows. That Maillard reaction is giving new flavors. When heat is applied to sugar, it breaks down to tinier molecules that react with each other and create new flavors that we tend to be drawn to without thinking about the why factor that flavor comes to existence from its source. Example, with toasted marshmallows it gives fruity, nutty, and buttery. I am OK driving all the way up this far north to the most northern north county area to enjoy my sips. Keep it special! Hot Maple latte and Iced Butterscotch Latte both watered down. The Hot Maple Latte lacked in the taste department with the maple flavor. Barely a hint. Though the coffee wasn't bad like bitter, it just didn't have much impact on flavor. I loved the art foam design though. Neither did the Butterscotch Latte which tasted like a regular latte. Five stars all the way!!! First time at this place and it didn't not disappoint. I got the hot latte with oat milk and my wife got the iced latte with oat milk. We throughly enjoyed it. The proportion was perfect. It was strong but not bitter and the oat milk had a hint of sweetness. Our barista was friendly and made us feel welcomed. There were plenty of seating inside and outside but since it's a popular spot, it is pretty filled up. Fortunately, we found a spot for us (there were 3 of us). Note: There are other businesses that have tables and chairs outside so I'm not sure what the proper etiquette is regarding patronizing an establishment but sitting at another. I personally wouldn't do it, but that's just me. Highly recommend this place. read more

Solid spot with a cool, open vibe and great service. We ordered the Raspberry Matchas, the Avocado and Tomato Toast, and the Tomato and Burrata Toast to go. The matcha was smooth and well-balanced, not too sweet or earthy. I originally ordered the Avocado and Tomato Toast but was given the one with pickled onions instead. I should've double-checked the order before leaving, but it's worth mentioning since that mix-up is why it's four stars instead of five. That said, the pickled onion version was surprisingly good and I ended up enjoying it. The Tomato and Burrata Toast was okay, but probably not something I'd get again. Overall, good drinks, solid food, and a spot I'd definitely come back to. read more

As a coffee snob, I think this is the best coffee and coffeehouse in the area. I love the vibe, and have spend many mornings here on my laptop just breathing in the authentic local scene. The drip coffee is excellent, and have purchased several pounds of their grind. But I gotta give it up for their baked goods--absolutely irresistible! The morning bun was just sticky, gooey fun, and was delightful. Haven't had one dry pastry there. And their avocado toast is amazing: thin, crispy, with perfect avo, heirloom tomatoes, and coarse salt. read more

Good coffee and ambiance. We came on a Saturday around noon and there was a line out the door but it moved quickly. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We got a cappuccino and the coffee soda (espresso over sparkling water and sweetened). Cappuccino was well made. The coffee soda was interesting but about what you'd expect from the description. I think it could have used some kind of creamer personally to make the drink smoother and a little more interesting. Our friends gor the iced mint matcha (seasonal) and the iced mocha. The matcha was apparently very mint forward which they loved. One thing that left a sour taste. My friend was waiting at the bar for his drink and the barista had put a drink out but didn't say a name. He went up to ask about it and was given a very snarky response for no reason. So friendlier barista interactions would be appreciated. read more

I asked for extra sweet, and it still didn't taste like anything. I like my matcha to be strong in taste, but also sweet. It's got a local vibe, with plenty of table space, outlets, and wifi if you need to get some work done. There's also a cute front patio if you want to enjoy your coffee outside. The food menu is on the smaller side, but the toast options look super tasty (just note, the kitchen closes at 2pm). The service is quick and super friendly, adding to the laid-back surfer vibe that's central to Oceanside. (Caveat: it can get pretty packed in the mornings and around noon). Definitely a great spot to relax, sip coffee, and take in the chill atmosphere. Right next door there are some cool shops as well if you want to take your coffee to go! read more

It's always a pleasure to visit a coffee shop where the baristas are genuinely passionate about their craft. Their curiosity about new arrivals not only enhances their expertise but also allows them to provide thoughtful recommendations. (Kyle was that wonderful barista who takes pride in what he does) The $7 limited-release Ethiopian pour-over was exceptional--smooth, aromatic, and brewed to perfection. Delicious! We stumbled upon this place on Yelp and tried out the butterscotch latte, matcha mint latte, and flat white and everyone loved their drinks. The price is pretty average for a coffee shop and the parking was fairly easy - you can park either on the street or there's a small parking lot on the side of the shop. It looked like a lot of people were able to comfortably study here too which is always a plus and the bathrooms were super clean! read more

Not really. There's a lot of human traffic (people walking by, not being "trafficked"). Also RR is on the busiest and loudest north-south artery on the coast for vehicles. It might work with a good set of headphones, but I would recommend the beach…

We have a huge patio with tons of pets outside! Unfortunately do to Health Department regulations we cannot allow pets inside. Service animals are of course more than welcome!
I asked if their bread was vegan and they said no..but on the Prager brothers website there are no animal ingredients. What makes the avocado toast not vegan?
Yes only because we butter the toast! Just ask for no butter :)
