First off, I love the beaver graphic for Mochichis, its great! The mochi donuts are very unique, and I really enjoy them. The nice thing about these donuts is that they are really light in mouthfeel. While I don't have donuts that often, my go to is usually a cake donut, cake donuts are just so dense though, and 'normal' donuts, while airy don't give you that nice bite. These donuts have a little bit of crunch on the outside, just a tad, then chewy center. I think that all the donuts are the same, just topped differently, I did not see anything different other than the Mochi Ball, which they have been out of the past few times I have visited. Mochichis, has free parking in the center parking lot, and normally when you walk in, you are greeted (not my last visit), but normally. Every time other than this last time, you are sort of killed with kindness, not that the worker was unpleasant. It is small inside, but there are around 5 tables that you can sit out, I mean most donut places are small and/or have no seating at all. Unique donuts, and I love that the uniqueness is not just adding 50 toppings to make it that way. read more

We love the Elite event so much I drove back to Encinitas again the following weekend to pick up a dozen for my son and his friends to snack on during their practice for BroAM. The staff has always been great, super nice and welcoming as soon as you walk through that front door! All donuts are good but so far my favorite favorite favorite have been the xhurro, creme brulee, and that mochi hole filled with creamy goodness (tastes like whipped cream). The donuts are light and fluffy and have a bit of a chew. Love the bright colors and decor throughout the store and the fact that you can see your donuts through the display. I had a strawberry boba tea as well, it was good but not really my favorite type of drink (glad I tired it). My family is officially hooked on this place. This was our third order this week. Today I just went for a three pack with people's favorites from our earlier orders: churro, strawberry, and Nutella. I told the owner, Beth, that my kid and his girlfriend had DoorDashed some donuts yesterday, because someone ate the birthday cake all up and the other one wanted it. she told me that the most addictive thing there is actually the mochi ball with raspberry jam or vanilla cream filling, so I got one of those two and I'm looking forward to trying it! read more

Came with my daughter who wanted to try them. Store was empty and took a couple of minutes for someone to come out from the back and greet us but the time allowed us to look around. The place was clean and saw they also serve ice cream at the back. We ordered 4 (churro, Nutella, glazed, strawberry and ube Oreo) to take home. Needed a picker up for my long shift. The service was fast and the place was cute . Decided to try the tiger milk tea with boba. It was definitely aesthetic with all the gradient from the sugar. The boba are soft and chewy, one of the better boba I have tasted and sweet also. It was extremely sweet so would ask for less sugar next time but not sure if I would try it again. The cost of the drinks are on the higher ends for boba drink which is why I don't know if I would order any of the drinks. They have a lot of different drinks. The boba is an extra cost for add on. Super cute shop with an interesting combination of soft serve and mochi donuts. The donuts looked amazing and the thought of the two sounded enticing. We got the mochi donut with soft serve combo. The biggest disappointment this place sells the idea of soft serve but it's just ice cream they run through this machine that breaks it down and makes it softer. Probably should've skipped on this but wasn't aware u til it was too late. The donut though was fantastic so wish I got more do those. All this being said, management needs to reexamine their employee policy on Sunday night. There was just one employee working everything, from boba, to soft serve to cashier. She handled it like an absolute boss but less than understanding customers could get angry at the wait that ensues when she's trying to do it all on her own. She deserves 10 stars. read more

I always come here when I'm craving some mochi donuts. When I was about to hit 750 pilates classes, I requested from my husband to get me some donuts from here, and he delivered on it. But every time I am near Homegoods (once to twice a month), l have made it my next stop to come here after. I absolutely love the texture that the mochi lends to their donuts. I cannot pick which l like better, their mochi ball donuts (crispy and slight crunch on the outside and extreme chew in the middle, also possible custards can be added at your say so), or their regular mochi donut that has what look like little balls (mochi, l am sure!) under the battered breading of the donut. Either way, you truly cannot go wrong! I try to buy a couple mochi balls and around a half dozen of the mochi donuts. Soooooo good! Their decor and merch is also really cute. The family that owns and runs this establishment is super sweet and helpful. I'm used to the mochi donuts in Orange County but these ones were phenomenal. A little bit pricey, but I think the quality is worth it because they taste so damn good. Most mochi donuts get super hard if you don't eat them immediately. These stayed fresh and soft for much longer than expected. Obviously they're always the best when they're fresh. This place has been open in Encinitas now for a few months now, and it's definitely becoming quickly noticed, and for good reasons, too. The mochi donuts are bliss, and boba milk teas are first rate. I had the churro mochi donut and the Tiger Milk Tea. The churro mochi had that perfect crisp exterior for that perfect bite, leading into that perfect soft, slightly chew center. The donut came with the perfect mixture of quality granulated sugar and cinnamon. They offer a variety of equally amazing mochi donuts, including crème brulée, cake batter, chocolate sprinkle, original glazed, cookies & cream, and much more. The tiger milk tea was great. I had it with no sugar and was still very delicious. The assam black tea is freshly brewed each day, and it is of very good quality. The tiger brown sugar syrup was delicious.
