Get yourself to this awesome new restaurant now and go for dinner! Not only is it cute inside but the food is tremendous. We were 2 of only a handful of customers for dinner tonight. This place should be over flowing with people. The service was very good and the food was FANTASTIC! The portion sizes were good and the prices reasonable. The lobster ravioli as an appetizer could have easily been a full entree with a salad or side veggie. It had so much lobster in it and was the best I have ever had. The sauce was to die for. The price was very reasonable. We had the brussel sprouts which were delicious and they came with a ton of carmalized very thick home made pancetta. We got it on the side and there was so much we could have taken it home for leftovers. I had the linguine vongole which was very tasty. My only minor criticism is that it could have had a little bit more sauce to it - I like my Vongole with a bit more moisture (needed a touch more of the white sauce). The macarons were delicious and moist. The other desserts looked amazing but we were too full to try any others. To the management: One issue that may be keeping them from getting more people for dinner is that their website does not show the dinner menu. I wasn't sure they even offered dinner but they were open until 9 pm so I was confused. I actually went in to ask one day to find out. They have a lovely dinner menu and they are definitely open for dinner so please spread the word. I want them to stay in business because they have great food. This place is definitely cute inside...I guess the decor got all the seasoning. We ordered the honey lavender latte, Brie omelette, smoked salmon Benedict, and lobster bisque. The "honey lavender" latte tasted like a regular cup of coffee that forgot it had a personality. The Brie omelette was so bland it made plain toast seem adventurous. The smoked salmon Benedict and lobster bisque were...fine. Not terrible, just nothing to write home about. When I mentioned that the food was bland, our waitress responded with a heartfelt "OK." Then a bee started aggressively auditioning for the role of restaurant security. I let her know about that too, and once again: "OK." The gentleman waiter was kind, so points for that. Overall, $66 for food that forgot salt exists and customer service that treated both bland food and an attack bee with the same level of concern? I'll pass. We walked with our friends from Del Mar to Encinitas, had brunch here, and then walked back. What a find! We all loved our food, seating is cute, and service was attentive. I LOVE eggs benedicts and normally order these when eating out for brunch. This one was especially good. The English muffin was toasted but still chewy in a nice way, the eggs were perfectly poached soft, there was a generous amount of avocado and salmon. I love how they cook with avocado oil. This place is SO good!!! Both service and food were amazing! My mom and I were served by Gretchen and Fernando assisted and both were so helpful and had a great vibe! I really appreciate when staff can give helpful, nuanced recommendations for food and almost insist you try certain items that they know you'll enjoy! We are so happy this restaurant opened. The food is really good and authentic. We got the lobster ravioli which was fabulous. It came with garlic butter bread. Then we got the Caesar salad which was very fresh. Excellent dressing. Then I got the coq au vin which I lived and my husband got the chicken ballotine. Flavor was very good. We then for dessert got the mini fruit tarts. Yummy. Will get that each time! Perfectly hit the spot. I really appreciated the classy cutlery. Makes the food taste better. Kevin our server was great. They just opened this place up and my wife caught it randomly. We dropped in for a late Sunday lunch. Service was solid and the Staff is genuinely happy to be here. We happened to sit next to Grechin (spelling?) who works for the company (bit was having a meal before leaving) and she shared why she love this company. Integrity of food quality was a key thong I heard (she didn't say it specifically but it was clear). A French place for folks who need to manage their carbs/gluten is rare. Lots of non-bread options. The food was clean, simple, and amazing. The Steak (and eggs) was HIGH quality, tender, and delicious. The doors open are inviting but make the wall seats kind of a wind tunnel. Perfect for Sunday in Encinitas but could annoy some. Not bad but anyone who doesn't enjoy eating semi-outdoors may not like it. Great experience for any length of time operating but for the first week they nailed it! We hope they do really well! We are in this area all the time and will be eating here a LOT. read more

Lobster bisque soup was good. Le Parisien sandwich was very disappointing. When it says that the sandwich will come on a baguette, you'd think it'd come on a long, slender, crispy French baguette, not a square piece of bread that in of itself was not outstanding either. The ham in the sandwich was basically lunch meat. Not sure how a restaurant that claims to be French be so "off" on a classic French sandwich. Also ordered the Salmon Croissant. Unfortunately, another miss. Croissant had the texture of mass-made bread, neither warm nor flaky, and poached eggs were cold and quite small (appeared like only the yolk part of the egg made it into the plate). Was hoping for a casual but authentic French cafe meal, but left disappointed as nothing stood out. read more

Loved the whole experience! We were going to go to Bistro du Marche for a special occasion but decided to support local after visiting for breakfast on Monday. Food was excellent! Lobster ravioli and crab cakes to share, boeuf bourguignon, coq au vin and onion soup for mains. Server was very attentive. Maybe this is due to their just opening. One of us ordered the goat salad with chicken and asked to substitute salmon in place of the chicken. The waitress said OK. Imagine our surprise that we when were finished, the waitress brought out a piece of chicken and our bill reflected a $12 charge for the salmon. We were beyond pleased with our first visit to the new restaurant in the Lumberyard in Encinitas. We sat outside on the patio with our two big dogs in a lovely setting. We were there for breakfast but they're open also for lunch and dinner. My Brie omelette was delicious with the rosemary roasted potatoes. It was elegantly served and the overall service was exceptional. My Brie omelette was stuffed with spinach, fried onions, mushrooms and Brie and served with melted Brie on top with avocado and more spinach and mushrooms. I couldn't eat all of it! Good coffee too! The ambiance was wonderful. We sat on the patio at the high table and enjoyed the amazing view. The service was really good and everyone who worked there, that we interacted with were knowledgeable, professional, helpful, kind, and generous. It was our 1st visit and we enjoyed the food, service, and the ambiance. We started with a glass of Champagne and it helped us to be transported to France. Croque Madame, traditional French sandwich, and the Miss Marceille savory crepe were delivered promptly on super hot plates and were both delicious. The portions were quite generous, enough to save 1/2 of it for another meal. We also shared the vanilla eclaire and it was fabulous. The house drip coffee was hot and had good flavor. i love the decor of Mon Cheri. There were a lot of carefully chosen beautiful things in the lovely room . I love the color of the walls. The food and the service were excellent. They poached the eggs just the way I asked them to. The blueberry pancakes came with whipped cream as well as maple syrup. They were perfectly delicious. I brought with me to this restaurant some 19th century French roses named Mme Isaac Pereire, and the waitress, who was actually French, was nice enough to tell me how to pronounce and translate that name and also the rose's original name, which was Le Bienheureux de la Salle, when I asked her to. You can also eat outside in the pleasant courtyard. An added bonus is that facing the courtyard there is a fascinating art gallery , Off Track Gallery, where your eyes can feast upon beautiful and imaginative artwork after you eat your food (with your mouth). read more

Loved this attractive, bright new restaurant that we went to for dinner. My husband was happy with the French onion soup and pasta and I was delighted with the scallops that were cooked just right, not chewy at all. The beer and wine lists were appealing. Our server, Micah, aimed to please, was attentive and helpful. We even bought a sweet roll to take home for breakfast and it was delicious.
