Cold brew samples

What a hidden gem! Stopped by Coatl this morning and we were pleasantly surprised. They're a roastery located in an unassuming strip mall/business plaza, and they're roasting up fresh beans from the Chiapas region of Mexico. The owner is so kind and informative. He gave us a sample of their award winning cold brew to try while he was making our lattes, and we don't usually drink coffee black but this was so rich and flavorful with notes of chocolate, nuts and cherries- it didn't need any sugar or milk because it was so smooth. Their signature drink is the mazapan latte, and he was telling us he likes to add chocolate to make it like a peanut butter cup or strawberry syrup to make it like a peanut butter jelly sandwich so we had to go for that since it's something so unique! And they really did taste like pb&j! One of the best lattes either of us has ever tried! The best thing is that they weren't too overwhelmingly sweet, and you can still taste the actual coffee. I could still taste the rich nutty, chocolaty notes of the arabica + robusto blend, and the owner explained how even with just the 5% of robusto you get an energy boost that'll last through the day but not keep you up all night. No wonder "I Am Your Energy" is their tag line - I really do feel energized, but amazingly not jittery! So glad we found this place!

Coldbrew lemonade... with strawberry!

That summer drink with the cold brew, lemonade, and strawberry at first seemed weird... but then i thought i would not be able to try this drink anywhere else... so i tried it and it was actually really good. Also, extra points for having a cool logo.

I think I just found my new favorite local coffee shop! Now if they can just get some vegan pastries I'll be in heaven! They roast their own beans here and during the week M-F 7 am-4pm you can pick up your own tasty coffee. This little gem is hidden towards the back of a shopping center with plenty of parking. I can't tell you how excited I am to have good coffee that isn't Starbucks! The prices are fair and the staff is very friendly. I also got to try a sample of their cafe de La olla which is pretty delicious too! I want this place to stay here FOREVER! We need small businesses like this in the area. Thanks for the delicious coffee!!! I'll be back!

Came here on a sleepy Wednesday afternoon and in desperate need of caffeine. I loved the Mexican-inspired theme and I decided to order Marzapan coffee since I never had coffee in this flavor. The Marzapan coffee did not disappoint. It had a nutty, creamy texture and tasted almost like the candy except a little less sweet. Dorian and Luis were also super nice and I liked that I didn't have to pay until the end of my service. I also ordered a bag of coffee beans, which was around $15. I highly recommend Coatl Coffee if you are in the area. They have good coffee and service.

This is a cute little place! Nice and neat. They have been packaging and selling their beans wholesale and have decided to open up for the public. I ordered their mazapan latte and it is delicious it's not too sweet and you can really taste the beans and a hint of peanuts. They also serve croissants and muffins. I highly recommend this place! It's very quaint and clean. Service was excellent. I will be back for sure!

Cold brew was great but the ham and cheese croissant was amazing!!!

CLOSED on a Tuesday at 11am. Disappointing! We drove out of the way to find it. No sign. Just closed.

My wife just tried the lattes for the first time, and our minds are still blown. You owe it to yourself to find and try this place.

Ask the Community - Coatl Coffee

What's up with the hours here? Seems like they are in business but never open the doors to sell to customers? Anyone know what happened?

Thanks Lori for your inquiry. We're open and sell our roasted beans on the days we're roasting, packaging, and processing. This is on Wednesday mornings and sometimes on other days depending on the needs of the coffee shops we supply. (We don't… Read more

The coffee is marginal although it will get you through. I'm kind of a purist, so I go for espresso only or Americanos where I can control water content. None of those foofy cappafrappachinoicees for me. My main gripe is that sometimes their Americanos taste too watered down. One great thing about drinking coffee here though is that you get to use their own packages spices, which are quite good. The sandwiches are good, the people working are always great, the seating area is comfortable (although a little on the small side when they're crowded) and they have free WiFi. Small menu but they can change things around so you order exactly what you want... what's not to love about that! I ordered an Almond Joy frappe style with soy... pleasantly delicious. Patio style furniture, simple wall decorations, and clean hardwood floor. Free wifi as well. Cannot wait to try their acai bowl and tea next time!

So, we get there and see a pretty good and see a steady line coming out the door, okay cool. However in what we tried it's just an okay spot. I would say they have a great business model and have cool merch and crazy cool art and stuff but the drinks weren't anything special like what we expected. My wife got the matcha latte with honey and it was not well made. Seems like they feel more is better when it comes to putting matcha in the drink. More is not better. It just makes the matcha taste like grass. Ground powdered matcha is basically a concentrate and needs to be treated that way. Had my review been just on her drink it would be a one star. Her drink is exactly why a lot of people say matcha is not good. A well made matcha should be delicious. I got a vanilla latte and it was just okay. Tasted fine but wasn't anything that would have me wanted to come back for more. I do have to give it to them for the latte artwork as they do great on that. But the drink was just okay. We also got an heirloom blueberry and corn scone which was good but the corn makes it a bit gritty like corn bread, which I like although it could throw someone off if they are not expecting it. The other pastries all looked pretty good and we saw some breakfast sandwiches coming out that did look good too.

It was a quick stop, so I grabbed a ready to go matcha chia parfait (no picture bc I ate it too fast), but I loved that they had a bakery case and the options for quick bites and food to order. I got the strawberry shortcake latte and it looked nothing like his. I mentioned that to the girl, but she said it was the same drink so I went on with my day. Sadly, I dropped my drink so after my brunch reservations I went back to get another drink. This time it looked like it was supposed to and it was pretty good, glad I got to try it.
