What a hidden gem! Stopped by Coatl this morning and we were pleasantly surprised. They're a roastery located in an unassuming strip mall/business plaza, and they're roasting up fresh beans from the Chiapas region of Mexico. The owner is so kind and informative. He gave us a sample of their award winning cold brew to try while he was making our lattes, and we don't usually drink coffee black but this was so rich and flavorful with notes of chocolate, nuts and cherries- it didn't need any sugar or milk because it was so smooth. Their signature drink is the mazapan latte, and he was telling us he likes to add chocolate to make it like a peanut butter cup or strawberry syrup to make it like a peanut butter jelly sandwich so we had to go for that since it's something so unique! And they really did taste like pb&j! One of the best lattes either of us has ever tried! The best thing is that they weren't too overwhelmingly sweet, and you can still taste the actual coffee. I could still taste the rich nutty, chocolaty notes of the arabica + robusto blend, and the owner explained how even with just the 5% of robusto you get an energy boost that'll last through the day but not keep you up all night. No wonder "I Am Your Energy" is their tag line - I really do feel energized, but amazingly not jittery! So glad we found this place!

That summer drink with the cold brew, lemonade, and strawberry at first seemed weird... but then i thought i would not be able to try this drink anywhere else... so i tried it and it was actually really good. Also, extra points for having a cool logo.

I think I just found my new favorite local coffee shop! Now if they can just get some vegan pastries I'll be in heaven! They roast their own beans here and during the week M-F 7 am-4pm you can pick up your own tasty coffee. This little gem is hidden towards the back of a shopping center with plenty of parking. I can't tell you how excited I am to have good coffee that isn't Starbucks! The prices are fair and the staff is very friendly. I also got to try a sample of their cafe de La olla which is pretty delicious too! I want this place to stay here FOREVER! We need small businesses like this in the area. Thanks for the delicious coffee!!! I'll be back!

This is a cute little place! Nice and neat. They have been packaging and selling their beans wholesale and have decided to open up for the public. I ordered their mazapan latte and it is delicious it's not too sweet and you can really taste the beans and a hint of peanuts. They also serve croissants and muffins. I highly recommend this place! It's very quaint and clean. Service was excellent. I will be back for sure!

Came here on a sleepy Wednesday afternoon and in desperate need of caffeine. I loved the Mexican-inspired theme and I decided to order Marzapan coffee since I never had coffee in this flavor. The Marzapan coffee did not disappoint. It had a nutty, creamy texture and tasted almost like the candy except a little less sweet. Dorian and Luis were also super nice and I liked that I didn't have to pay until the end of my service. I also ordered a bag of coffee beans, which was around $15. I highly recommend Coatl Coffee if you are in the area. They have good coffee and service.

Cold brew was great but the ham and cheese croissant was amazing!!!

My wife just tried the lattes for the first time, and our minds are still blown. You owe it to yourself to find and try this place.

What's up with the hours here? Seems like they are in business but never open the doors to sell to customers? Anyone know what happened?

If you haven't tried the Caribbean Bean Salad yet, start there. It's so good. I usually grab a bag of tortilla chips to go with it, but it's equally good with plantain chips. Their Kale & White Bean Salad is another favorite, and I haven't had a fresh juice there that I didn't enjoy. Surprisingly, their matcha is pretty solid too. The store has a great selection overall and feels like the closest thing Oceanside has to a Whole Foods. I find myself stopping in at least once a week for meal prep ingredients, snacks, or something from the deli case. The reason I'm landing at 4 stars instead of 5 is mostly the location. There's almost always something interesting happening outside, and it's not uncommon to see police activity nearby. Also, if you order a fresh juice or hot drink, don't expect it to come out lightning fast. They definitely take their time. That said, those are pretty minor complaints. The quality of the food, produce, and prepared items keeps me coming back. All in all, it's a great neighborhood market with plenty of healthy options and some hidden gems if you're willing to explore a little.

My debit card slipped out of the receipt and I didn't realize it until we had already left the store and started to load our groceries into the car. It was then that we realized the debit card was missing. We retraced our steps but it was nowhere to be found. Next we went back to Anita to see if we had left our debit card near the checkout lane. She didn't see any card, so we went to the customer service counter. I explained that I had lost my debit card and asked if anyone turned it in. I was already on the phone ready to cancel my card with the bank. She did not see it so that employee called to another team member to see if anyone had turned it in. Luckily, that person said yes - that they found the debit card on the floor near the checkout lane and that another employee turned it in. I identified my name and what the card looked like - and cannot express my gratitude for the honesty and action of all the team members. We were about to leave town and would not have had access to our bank account - had I cancelled that card. I don't know all the names of the people who were involved - but I wanted to shout out a HUGE thank you for what you all did. If you contact me, I would be happy to give you three months of free veterinary concierge service to you - as a small gesture of our appreciation for what you did today. To the managers of this Winco, you should be proud that you have such honorable team members. Please feel free to reach out to me at my email at dryoukey@mac.com. I needed a few items for a party that I was attending, and I found several things that were very reasonably priced. The store itself is huge and they have so much inventory of different items. Their bulk section is bigger than any I've ever seen and they have a little bit of everything. Their produce department is big too. They have some premade items in the deli area as well as breads, cakes and pastries. They have a good selection of pet food and treats. They also have rows and rows of refrigerated foods and frozen foods. I'll definitely come back and explore when I have more time but I found everything I needed without issue. They have a lot of the same brands as most stores do and some that I don't know.. I did have more than 15 items so I had to check out through a checkstand, but I could see if I needed to come and get something quick, It would be much faster to use the self checkout. Also they only take, cash, checks or debit cards. I'm glad I knew this in advance.

I ended up being followed by an absolute psychotic predator and at the last moment ran into Wisconsin Market where thank god- Ray was working. He took one look at me shaking almost crying and asked what was wrong. I managed to get out a coherent enough sentence to explain what was happening and he just grabbed a wooden bat from behind the counter ran outside and swung it at my stalker who took off running. Ray told me to run home immediately and chased the guy down the St screaming he messed with the wrong girl. I made it home safely that day because of Ray. Less than two weeks later I went back to Wisconsin and Ray was working again, when he saw me he got real serious and called me over to him. To my horror he showed me 3 photos of the guy who'd followed me asking if that was him- when I confirmed he told me that a week ago he'd dragged another woman down an alley way only two streets away from my house beat her and tried to grape her. He was stopped when two marines heard the woman screaming came to her aid and beat him up and subdued him till cops came. Ray gave me the DAs card who wanted my testimony of what had happened to me. I don't know what came of it as the story was never in the news or anything but thank God the Marines saved that woman in time. Also thank God Ray was working that day as he saved me and possibly even my life that day. I just wanted to give him the recognition he deserves.
