Writing this review as I'm sitting on a table, sipping my Green Tea Latte :) This place is awesome, there are plenty of seats and best of all, FAST wifi! There is about 3 couches and 11 tables here. They also have self-serve water in cute mugs, what more can you ask for? There are plenty of outlets here too and the music isn't too loud so you can concentrate even if you didn't bring headphones. Also, the Green Tea Latte tastes delicious, perfect for the hot summer days that we will be getting so I highly recommend it! read more

Roger and his wife are so accommodating, they take the time to get to know each one of their customers, and they make each item on the menu with love and attention. This place has plenty of room to study and is a great place to catch up with friends as there are so many different seating areas. Has solid 5 for a reason. Very clean. From top to bottom. Food. Staff. Eating areas. Restrooms. Calm relaxed atmosphere. Comfortable seating. Friendly staff (Roger is a very kind soul). Food is exactly what the menu describes. I'm picky too. BLT had delicious leaf lettuce, succulent tomato, generous portion of bacon and on a wonderfully flaky croissant. Bagel sandwich with turkey, avocado, and bacon was panini pressed and my son thoroughly enjoyed it! The breakfast sandwich with egg, bacon, avocado, and cheese was on point too! (Everything is customizable here). Produce was fresh and local - you can tell. Baked goods are also local and delivered daily - I used to work in a bakery. I will be back! We tried out this place so we could do work between daycare drop off and a dr appt. The coffee was good and inside there are lots of seating options - but it was so hot. This was my first visit to the Brown Cup and I'm happy I stopped in. The owners were so sweet and I felt very welcomed into their space. It is a cafe with great options for food and coffee. Their space is arranged to allow for an intimate feel while still having an option to spread out with the abundance of seating. It is good for groups. The layout is fresh with plenty of natural light. They have a good selection of music playing and complimentary fruit infused water towards the back. I had an Americano and a salad with lettuce, bacon, avocado, pieces of red onion, cucumber, tomato, and cilantro. I had a few choices for dressing and I picked pesto. I was given peanut dressing to try and I actually really loved it. The pesto was delicious, but I have to say my favorite is now peanut. Prices are very reasonable. I was so happy to find this place! I work remotely and it's sometimes nice to work out of a coffee shop. But unfortunately, there just aren't many cafes that feel comfortable to work from. That said, Brown Cup Cafe is awesome. I've only been in Oceanside for a week and I've probably been there four times. It's spacious yet cozy, and full of good vibes. {review} On this gloomy Sunday, I took one last drive through the hometown before facing the realities of work and school. I always try to take Coast Highway instead of the 5 - sure it doubles the commute time, but you can't beat the ocean views and, for me, the trip down memory lane. The pink thing structure in the background was the theater I performed at back in my theatrical years, and just across the street @browncupcafe opened about 9 months ago. When I found out they had cold brew, I knew I had to make a stop. ** Using a @stachecoffee blend of Papua New Guiena, Columbia, and Guatemala beans, they coarsely grind then steep in room temperature water for 24 hours. ** This one was a bit too acidic and bright for me, which was surprising since two of the three beans were South American. It was smooth, but I couldn't completley finish it - just not the cold brew flavor I enjoy. The owner mentioned though that it's one of their most popular items, so for some people this is the brew for them. I wonder if some tweaking would fix the acidity - less steeping time, lower concentration of beans, cold water? 2.5/5 ** I plan to swing by again and see if their cold brew tastes the same on a different day; gives me an excuse to come back home. read more

We've been coming to brown cup for years and I can't believe I've never taken the time to write a review. The owners are some of the sweetest people. They always greet us so kindly. Their coffee is delicious and they do in house breakfast. Great smoothies, delicious muffins, and a nice big space calming environment. Good for hanging out or getting some work done. I stopped in for my first visit during the Oceanside parade. It wasn't crazy busy but there were a few people in there. I ordered two drinks and left to use the restroom. When I came back there were two customers at the register, one white guy and one black guy, ordering together. The white guy was paying but the black guy was also ordering on his bill. At the end of the $25 total order the black guy asked for a glass of ice water and the cashier told him they only have bottled. They didn't get the bottle. They made one of my drinks wrong so I was still waiting for my order. The very next customer was a white woman. She didn't hear the order before her and asked for two glasses of ice water. Guess what!? Suddenly they had free glasses of ice water. The cashier didn't offer one to the black guy who was still standing there waiting for his order. He had his back to the cashier so I don't even know if he heard this, but I did. I won't go back. read more
