We visited Bol vail as part of a fun thing to do for our wedding week in Colorado. There was a group of 24 of us. The first strike was when we tried to tell the server before anyone ordered that there would be separate checks. She said that it was very difficult to do that and that normally they just put it all on one check and let the table pay how they want. I run a restaurant so I know that was just the server being lazy. After she said that she would figure it out we all ordered our drinks. After that the speed of service was extremely slow. It was very difficult to get more drinks because the server was rarely at the table. 3 of the people in my group went to the bar and bought drinks because of this. After that we ordered the food and it took 45 minutes to come out. The food was good though so make sure the people in the kitchen get props. The manager was clueless to what was going on. I got up and told him what was going on and he just smiled and said that they only had three servers taking care of the whole restaurant. He apologized and said that he would try to get the food out to our table faster. We were late for our bowling reservation because of how long dinner took. Then the bowling alley charged us more than we were quoted over the phone when we spoke to someone last February to set it up. Finally, nothing was ever done for our group considering that we were celebrating a wedding and a birthday that we told them about up front. On the way out the manager again asked how everything was and our response was ok from one person and not great from another and he just smiled and said thank you for coming and have a good night. Service was very disappointing, food was good, atmosphere was good, bowling was fun. Service just really killed it. Too bad. read more

Had THE worst experience at Bol Vail. Never in my life have I been treated so rudely while with my wife and kids. I don't know If the owner lets his employees drink while on the job but everyone that worked there seemed intoxicated. I go to Vail, CO every year with my family and stay for a week to ski/snowboard, shop, eat, and have a great time. I know that my family and I will NEVER go back to this establishment after the kind of treatment we received. The owner has the "better than you attitude" and will do nothing to ensure that you and your family will have a great time no matter what. I no that the customer is not always right but there was not even a willingness for compromise. I will also make sure to tell all my friends and family to never step foot into Bol Vail. Food pretty good, but the service was awful. We went twice during our stay in Vail and both times we were surprised with service of staff. However, the location can not be beat. If you do go then get the prosciutto wrapped fish. read more

This is the highest class bowling alley you'll ever go. The spirit menu is awesome. The food menu is diverse. The appetizer are the bomb. You can get a big ole steak or a bunch of apps before you bowl. As you bowl they bring drinks. The setting way cool. I think only my pics can tell or show the story. The waitress are cool and service is good for Vail. I like the scene because I get tired of the pretensious, snooty part of Vail. It doesn't exist here. this place is great for a date or dinner with friends or bowling with the buds. read more

Had a bad experience 2 weekends ago. Was with a big group of people for a birthday party. Check could not be separated and we ended up getting way overcharged due to not separating checks. The server, Natalie got an attitude with our group due to her tip only being 10%. This absolutely could have been avoided had she separated checks for us. After paying for bowling we were still having drinks on the couches and they kicked us out and told us to go to the front even though we had not finished our drinks. Tacky service to say the least. This ended up being a very expensive night. Won't go back and we are locals. read more

This is a one of a kind bowling alley. It feels more like Miami than a mountain town. We enjoyed bowling. I suggest checking your bill before you pay to make sure the prices are correct and match the menu prices. Our waiter told us they change prices often. We had to ask for them to add 25% for the off season special which was odd it wasn't automatically added. Then we notice they over charged us on the beers we had. They did correct the over priced beers which was nice. Our server was very nice. read more

Awful service, the staff apparently does not know that they work in the service industry. From start to finish -- awful. Had the bartender tell me that he didn't have time for me (while he's watching tv, and has 4 people total sitting at the bar). Then yells at me when I ask him to transfer my drink to my server since he doesn't have time to close me out "THANKS FOR THE TIP!" . Should have been able to get a drink from the server but nope - apparently she didn't have time to serve either. What a joke! read more

loved it- the kids loved it! we scored "hip" points with our nieces for being the cool aunt and uncle who took them! Food was really good- sure a bit spendy, but it's Vail and it's a trendy restaurant..i was prepared. The Tuna tartare, tenderloin skewers and pork buns were YUM! Efficient staff, nice bartenders and very very kind bowling staff. They were great to the kids and accommodating to all of us. At $50 an hour to bowl i doubt we would go there often but it was great fun and a very cool vibe. read more

I went to Bol last night. I have been there a number of times in the past and know it can be a little pricey. Decided to order a beer instead the the really high priced glasses of wine. The first beer I ordered had run out so the server suggested some others. I decided to go with the Green Flash IPA which I've had a number of times before. When I got the bill I was shocked to see I was charged $20! It was a slightly larger bottle (I only finished half) but that is crazy!! I also had the soup on special which was good but extremely small serving for $10! read more

Terrible service, and love to say no to customer requests. The wait staff seems to forget that they are service workers, and act as if they're doing you a favor by serving you. Food is sub-standard. Save yourself the aggravation and go somewhere else. read more

I was visiting my good friend in Vail. We went out for one fancy dinner while I was there. The drinks and the food were great. The margarita pizza was amazing. The service was pretty disappointing, though. We waited forever for our meal. The waiter recognized the wait, however, nothing was comped. I have had great experiences here but my most recent experience has left me not wanting to come back. I was sat at the worst table, right by the bowling area and across from the dining area. The service was horrendous and I don't think it's possible to be more rushed than me and my family were. I mean we had barely finished our food when it was taken away without being asked if we were finished. My fries came out cold and tasted worse than ones you can get at Wendys or Burger King. I wouldn't recommend coming here, far better restaurants in Vail with better service. read more

I am an expert bowler. Like, I've been bowling every day since I was 7. And "Bol" is one of the worst luxury bowling establishments I've ever stepped my bowling shoe'd foot in. First of all, "Bol"? Really? "Bol"? Who came up with that one - Elmo? Secondly, what's up with the balls? You can't improve the sport of bowling, "Bol." They don't change the shape of a basketball in Provincetown. Get over it! Thirdly and most importantly, what is this menu? Good thing the staff are attractive or I'd have puked up my hundred dollar bruschetta. We came to Bol for dinner & bowling as part of the Vail Veterans Program. We started off with dinner served family style in the dining area. I have to say, their garlic potato chips were INCREDIBLE! In fact, everything we tasted from the ribs and wings to the salmon and prime rib were more than excellent. The bowling area itself is quite posh. The screens above the bowling lanes scrolled through photos that had been taken of our group throughout the trip. While we were bowling, they brought out trays of desserts, various sweet pastries and cookies. Our favorite hands-down was the chocolate truffles that had been dusted with cocoa..unbelievably delicious! The drinks were excellent, I recommend the Moscow Mule served in a cute copper cup, are the best in Vail. What impressed me the most was how attentive and courteous our servers were. I wish I had their names because each one of them did such an incredible job that night. They were quick, very friendly, and on top of their game. I was so impressed with the service here by everyone. Bowling itself was fun and a much welcome activity after such a delicious meal. The lanes are well taken care of. Even the children in the group were having fun and were able to play along with the adults because the bumpers would automatically be raised for their turn. A very nice touch! My boyfriend and I liked the atmosphere here, we came later in the evening so it was pretty empty. We tried several food items, lamb lollipops, which we liked, the wedge salad and Brussels sprouts which were ok. The Brussels were a bit undercooked almost raw but put bacon on anything and it will be good. Our main issue was with the Duck Confit "Gnocchi", I put gnocchi in quotes because they were more like tater tots than gnocchi. The texture was way off, deep fried and grainy. We probably only ate 1/8 of the dish, definitely wouldn't waste $26 on this. If this review can save one person from ordering it, I feel like I can rest easy. read more

I really didn't bowl very well, but I did manage a turkey in the 10th frame. First time ever I think... anyhow... pretty cool place. Crazy wipe out videos when you throw a gutter, waitress bringing you drinks and food... overall a solid time. Not the cheapest bowling experience (Wheaton Bowl's... This place Rocks! I didn't get too crazy with my entree, went with the margherita pizza, but, the rest of my family ordered the ribeye, the tofu ramen and the beef stroganoff. Everyone loved their meal - the restaurant is GREAT! We had reservations to bowl but couldn't get it in, we were super tired after skiiing all day. The food is amazing, the decor is super cool modern! Extremely disappointing experience when our group that included 3 kids couldn't finish our round and lights were turned off in the 9th frame. It's impossible to finish a round and have dinner in 1 hour. For the money they charge this is unacceptable. We asked for additional 10 minutes to complete the game and were declined. If you took a hip, cool looking bar and added a bowling alley as a private room in the back that would be Bol. Cool atmosphere. We visited in the off season so it was pretty empty which was fine with our group. We bowled for an hour, had drinks, ordered their Mushroom pizza with egg on top (3 eggs to be exact) and Parmesan chips. Food was pretty good for a resort place - want to try more of their menu to see if there other items hold up as well. Bowling was pretty cool given the atmosphere and the game on huge screens over the alleys and keeping the hip cool bar theme working throughout the place. A little expensive for the bowling (40/hr) though 5-6 people can share the lane and get a couple games in during the hour. Worth the trip and experience. read more

Sometimes mistakes turn out for the best. They accidentally booked our bowling reservation for the wrong night and we had to hang/eat in the restaurant and ice skate until dinner....what a phenomenal meal!!! The duck buns were so good we ordered another. The grilled avocado/crab salad was excellent. My son ordered the adult steak and I have never had better potatoes, the steak was off the charts great. The younger guys had great pizza served beautifully. The other dishes looked fantastic too. We bowled undistracted by eating and had a great time. Skating outside a huge plus ! read more

The ambiance and customer service at Bol exceeds excellent. From the manager down to the busers, each employee waits on the customer hand and foot. I wish I could say the same about the food. It wasn't bad by any means, but wasnt anything I would rate 5 stars especially when flatbread pizza is usually easy to prepare. However, the drinks were phenomenal, especially the "Black Forest" which is a whiskey based drink with blackberries that I fell in love with.
