Interior casual - nice atmosphere with TV's or a view

Fast upscale food for a ski resort. Enjoyed a Quinoa salad with grilled salmon $20. A fresh salad with mixed greens / only suggestion is that lettuce needs to be pre-washed, because some had a chemical taste. Otherwise, very nice combination of flavors.

Let's face it. We all know that you're not going to get the best food at the best prices on top of a 10,000-foot tall mountain. The skiers, snowboarders, and tourists of all ilk are there for mountain and are pretty much a captive audience for whatever types of food there happens to be on top. We ended up eating at Bistro 14 because a $20 food voucher was included in our gondola tickets. Otherwise, we wouldn't have even attempted an overpriced resort place like this for lunch. Given all of that, it wasn't terrible. The food actually tasted very good (even if costing double its actual value). My husband and I split the charcuterie tray and the turkey pot pie. For two people, this was plenty of food. One of my only complaints is that our server specifically asked if we wanted the pot pie split into 2 plates and I said no. When they brought it out, it was split into two plates. Oh well... Also, there were not nearly enough crackers on the charcuterie tray to go with that much meat and cheese, so we asked for more. All in all, good quality food and not "junk food" so if you're looking to eat healthier on top of the mountain, I'd recommend it over the food-court style places with pizza and burgers. Just be prepared for the prices, including built-in resort gratuity.

The views are beautiful and this is the only reason that you would eat here in the evenings. The service was good on this evening. The ahi tuna salad was decent, but I was very disappointed by the portion of the tuna that accompanied the salad. There was only 5 or 6 thinly sliced pieces, so very little protein to make it a meal. The beet salad looked like it had canned beets and could tell that the beet were even roasted. For the price of the salads, I was disappointed with the portions and quality. Also, order the bakes oysters, which was OK and went well with our salads. The one really great point of the restaurant is that it has a wonderful kids' menu. For $10, the kids started with a carrot and fruit plate, then had spaghetti with cheese and a hamburger as their entree (respectively), and then dessert with ice cream+brownie. This worked out well for us. Just for this point, we will come back because as parents I will pretty much eat anything as long as my kids are taken care of. Lastly, if you have a gluten sensitivity, ask for their gluten sensitive menu. They are very accommodating in regards to this dietary requirement. Overall, we would come back to make the most out of the fee for the gondola.

We stumbled upon this place after a snowshoe tour at the top of Eagle's Nest on Vail mountain. A few people were saying that it's not worth it to buy the pass to ride up on the gondola, and the views (in the day anyway) are breathtaking, but we had our lift tickets still so we just rode up. Upon arrival, we were seated right away and had a quirky but attentive waiter. I didn't really notice a whole lot about the atmosphere, not good or bad, but there was a beautiful sectioned photograph of the mountains above the bar. The food was all good, not incredibly memorable but everyone enjoyed their food and was satisfied. I ordered chicken tacos. For me, it was just the right amount of spicy-ness (not much at all) and the rice and beans were nice on the side. Then we asked for a dessert menu, because we are on vacation right?, and he just brought out a small brownie with ice cream and whipped cream and sprinkles on top. They regularly give these to diners but you have to ask, so be sure to do so! It was a nice little treat at the end of our meal!

Located at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola from Lion's Head at 10,350 ft (!!!), this was the only waiter service restaurant on the mountain and thank goodness we could get away from the pub and overpriced food court/cafeteria foods found on most ski resort mountains. I was skiing with family all day in Vail and didn't want to go all the way into the village with our gear for a decent lunch. We were all really happy with our food and service there. I had the Chicken Pot Pie and it was delicious and a pretty big serving. They also have a wide selection of wines and beers. Great views of skiers passing by and there's a nice patio area that's pretty nice to sit out with a cup of hot apple cider if it's sunny. You can also enjoy this restaurant without hitting the slopes, just take the gondola up and down the mountain. Access to Bistro Fourteen via the Eagle Bahn Gondola is free to foot passengers after 2pm Children's Menu: offers a selection of appetizer, entrée, and dessert for just $10

Lobster pasta. I counted the lobster, not bad, 7 medium pieces and 1 large piece but they're overcooked

I bought the $40 scenic ride ticket and got $20 voucher to eat here. Service was fast, waiter was friendly enough, but they are an overpriced lunch place if I may say so based on my experience. I ordered the lobster pasta. It cost $22 but with tax and gratuity (18% although I eat by myself, maybe because the voucher say so) it ended up to be $27. I will say the price was almost okay for the size, 8 medium pieces of lobster a lot of artichoke and a huge amount of pasta, but the taste was just normal. In fact the lobster was so overcooked I had a hard time chewing on it. Not going to eat here again even with the voucher.

    The view!

We walked in and it appeared to be a quiet night, we could see the bar was pretty empty. The hostess asked if we were staying at the hotel and we said no, we were dropping by for cocktails and wished to sit outside. She told us we could sit inside at a couch area by the entrance. One of our friends walked through the bar and noticed the fire pit seating areas were available and asked a server if we could sit there instead. She looked at us and said she would have to ask the hostess if any were available. Clearly they were and they didn't want our group sitting there for some reason. The bar was practically empty so not sure what the issue would be, perhaps it was because we were not hotel guests. After not getting back to us we just sat ourselves outside. Our server was Nivas. Nivas was not overly friendly but she was attentive. We ordered a couple rounds of cocktails. They were pricy but good. The fire pit tables are very nice. If you can sit outside at a fire pit I would recommend doing so.

Such a relaxing but chic spot to enjoy a meal after being out in the mountains. Our waitress was not overbearing and gave us enough time between bites to take it all in. She also made sure we got the full experience with the hot chocolate to marvel at its glory! The food was excellent, but the butternut squash soup was truly outstanding. It had a beautiful natural sweetness with a subtle hint of apple that made the flavor feel layered and comforting, and the pepitas added the perfect little crunch. It was one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. We also ordered the hummus, which tasted incredibly fresh and crisp, light, bright, and perfectly refreshing alongside the richer dishes. But the real star of the experience was the hot chocolate. It was absolutely decadent and comforting, easily one of the best cups of hot chocolate I've ever had. Rich, smooth, and the perfect treat in a snowy Vail setting. Overall, Remedy Bar delivers a beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and a cozy mountain-luxury experience. I would absolutely recommend stopping in if you're visiting Vail.

I decided to make a long past due visit to Archetype to check out their distilled spirits. In addition to their vodka and gin, they make a long list of small batch distilled spirits of various flavors. When you walk in there are a few high top tables and a long bar. My recommendation is to sit at the bar and chat with the bartenders. They are knowledgeable and will craft a cocktail based on what your favorite flavor profile is. As my friend C says, "if it's muddled N will drink it!" She's not wrong. She speaks the truth. I told the bartender that a cocktail with either the blackberry or strawberry spirits would be a great start. He mixed strawberry with their mint spirit, added soda, and ice in a tall glass. It was really refreshing. Because they have so many different flavored spirits they can craft almost anything. If you like a dirty martini, they have blue cheese and olive flavored spirits. I tasted the blue cheese spirit separately and it was hmmm...interesting by itself but mixed with the olive spirit and "ta-da!" - you've got your dirty martini. Their vodka and wine are made from wine grapes. I didn't get a chance to try either the vodka or gin this time but will definitely be back on my next ski trip to Vail. The distillery is located just a few doors down from Mountain Standard near the bridge over Gore Creek.

We visited their Vail tasting room for a cocktail class -- an activity I highly recommend.  Not only was the class a lot of fun, but it was also a great value.  It included a sampling flight, three cocktails & an hour of entertainment.  Michael is clearly passionate about the spirits he makes & the drinks they craft.  Whether you're a foodie or somebody who just loves a great cocktail, you'll enjoy the class. What I found particularly unique about Archetype's tasting room is their wide offering of house-made distillates/spirits.  They don't need a back bar full of brands that you see everywhere.  Instead, they're able to craft a custom cocktail based on the flavors you enjoy.  From familiar flavors like espresso or citrus to unique ones like blue cheese & truffles, you have the opportunity to find your own signature drink.  I tried several unique combinations & all were delicious!   In short -- from somebody who's been to a lot of distilleries -- make the time to check out Archetype.  The atmosphere was fantastic.  The drinks were delicious.  Their spirits win awards for a reason. You're sure to have a unique experience.
