I will start off by saying I feel bad for all the servers working for the lady owner and lady manager of this establishment. My girlfriend and I walked in and got sat at a table. 5 mins in the manger lady comes over and starts making my gf and I feel so unwelcome. She was suppose to reserve that table for the owner. But there was no reserved sign on the table when we got sat there. So she started to tell table around us about the table issue and it made us feel so uncomfortable. On top of that she was giving us attitude the whole time. Now the owner... I feel terrible for the people who have to work for this lady. After 30 mins of us sitting there and having a drink and some snacks. She walks over and gave us some much attitude and was said "WASNT THERE A RESERVED SIGN ON THIS TABLE? Because this is my table!" we quickly replied no there wasn't. Whole time the manager was also there rolling her eyes at us and giving us a face. These ladies continued to make us feel so uncomfortable for the next couple minutes. So I just paid and left. I didn't even want to pay to be honest. The place looks like it's bee transported from Vienna. Waitresses wear traditional attire and take the food to the table in a three tier tray on wheels. They ask that you check your coat but if you decide not to, then they ask you not to put it in the back of your chair (so I put mine on the floor). It's not cheap by the way but the food was good. We ordered the French onion soup (cup) and the broth was on the lighter color but tasty. We shared the steak frites. The very tender char-grilled skirt steak, came with truffle fries, baby rocket salad. lemon vinaigrette, crumbied bie cheese and chimichuri butter. The lemon vinaigrette was delicious. I love their European entrées--truly authentic, just like what you'd find in Austria or Germany. They even serve Radler, which is rare to come across. The service was excellent, and the prices are fair. Definitely a go-to spot for lunch or dinner in Vail. My daughters and I were seated by a hostess and ready to order when the lead hostess told us we needed to move to a rear table because someone with a reservation preferred the table where we were seated. We showed up a day early, but they graciously got us in. Our service was impeccable, great wine list, and the food... authentic. I had Jaeger schnitzel (spelling?) with spaetzle and mushroom gravy with a size of red cabbage. My husband has Weiner Schnitzel, and our son had a platter of Elk, Bison, and Quail. All fantastic. We had such a fantastic time here that we visited twice! The venison was delicious, though my friend said the Wiener Schnitzel was a bit dry. Atmosphere in Antlers Room was quiet and comfortable, the bar was rowdy and fun out front. We were in the Antlers Room which was perfect. Shawn, our waiter was first rate!! This restaurant can be a little hard to find at night because it's connected to the bar, but a separate sit down restaurant. It's where they have the breakfast for the hotel guests. We wanted an outside bar area in Vail Village to frequent for afternoon cocktails. Walking by Pepi's, it appeared to be the perfect spot as it had the windows/doors opened and live music as there was a guitar player for entertainment. The vibe seemed perfect to spend a couple of hours there.....until it was not. The first encounter with the server should have been enough for us to turn around and leave. We were greeted with, "We don't serve meals.....you can only get appetizer and drinks here". No welcome, no smile, no greeting of any kind. After being " welcomed", we said, "Great, we are only here for drinks." We were then told to sit anywhere. Service from the server, the same one who greeted us, was mediocre at best. She never smiled, engaged, appeared to like being at work, and seemed unhappy at the world. We ordered three drinks......beer was lukewarm, lemon drop martini was warm, not filled to the top, and came with no sugared rim, and the third drink of a type of lavender lemonade was bitter! We left as soon as we finished the drinks as we certainly were not wanting to try other drinks from the menu and with the rude server, we were ready to try another place. Lastly, to pay the bill seemed to take a longer time than needed. Keep looking if you are thinking of spending time in the bar area at Pepi's. Needless to say, we were disappointed as the venue from the path is what drew us in. read more

Just delicious! This place was so cute. We sat on the outside patio which was enclosed with heaters and big windows to see the snow fall. The soup was so good. I would rate it 5 stars but the only things was that it was my birthday and we met the waiter know and it wasn't acknowledged at all but that's okay! I can't expect that but usually restaurants would say happy birthday or something special but overall the food and service was great and I will be back if I'm ever in Vail again for a nice bite! read more

It was ok, a little greasy and not the highest quality ingredients. My husband had the buffalo burger. The pretzel bun was the highlight. We had a great server. Everyone stole from my plate so I didnt get a lot of it but what I ate I really liked. The service here is a whole other topic though. The service was just bad. Maybe they were under staffed or they just didnt care, I dont know. It took awhile for someone to seat us, took a while to get our orders in, took a while to get our food and when we did, none of us had any silverware. When someone got up to go get silverware they got in trouble for getting the silverware themselves. It was really quite absurd and the manager ended up apologizing but I got the feeling she really didnt care. Its vail. I went here for lunch. My order consisted of pepi's house salad and a cup of Hungarian goulash soup. Both dishes were yummy. Please keep in mind, the balsamic dressing on the house salad is very sour! That's not a bad thing, but may not be for everyone. The mandarin oranges, avocado, and candied walnuts made it bearable by giving it slight sweetness. The Hungarian goulash soup was nice and tasty; however, the cup portion is very small - much smaller than most places. Of course, each dish was more on the expensive side. The cup of soup alone was $13. This place is in Vail, CO so the cost wasn't much of a surprise - very on par with every other dining establishment in the area. The food came out very quick and all the servers at the restaurant were attentive - they constantly refilled my water, which is super nice because I go through water cups very quickly and it was a hot day! I like the ambiance and location of the restaurant. Nice place to people watch while listening to the background noise of Vail Village and enjoying some good food. read more

This place is just perfect! A wonderful patio, nice service, and GREAT people watching. We snagged an outdoor table for lunch, and couldn't be happier with our experience! The staff was talkative and accommodating and even volunteered to move us into more shade for our comfort later on in our meal. We ordered a few of their many featured cocktails, as well as the Truffled Gnocchi (Pan-seared gnocchi, asparagus and mushrooms drizzled with truffle oil and shaved Parmesan). Had a quick drink and the pretzel with my daughter. Sat in the enclosed patio and it's the best spot to sit in my opinion. The pretzel is small but dense so it's just as filling as the large pretzels you get at other restaurants. Our server was super sweet. Highly recommend this place!
