My friend and I were looking for a unique spot for a girls night in Vail. We found this cute spot online. They have the cutest spritz window experience on the 3rd floor of the Four Seasons. It was such a fun, different way to kick off the night! Price: Around $18 per drink. With a tip, you're looking at about $20-$25. My opinion going out to get a drink is expensive but it's Vail! If you go to Vail you know things will cost more. I personally think it was worth it and would come back. Customer Service: The service was great! You just ring the bell at the window and someone comes to help you pretty quickly. They were very kind and efficient. Atmosphere: It's very relaxing. We sat outside in their outdoor patio area which had a fire pit and seating. It was the perfect spot to just sit, talk, and get to catch up with each other. Drinks: I got the Barca Spritz, which is a blood orange flavor. It was refreshing and cute. My friend got the Limoncello Spritz, which she really enjoyed. Overall Experience: This was such a fun hidden gem moment for our girls night. I would definitely go back just for the drinks and the outdoor patio fire! Pro Tip: A huge bonus for this location is the parking! You can park for free after 3 PM at a nearby lot the S. Frontage Rd. East garage right nearby. I'll definitely be back! read more

I have previously dinned at tavernetta in Denver and it was absolutely delicious, so I was excited to try their sister location in Vail. The food was decent, especially the lamb ragu, but the beef carpaccio and lobster pasta fell flat. The dishes did not have the same complexity as they did in Denver. From the moment we walked into Tavernetta Vail, our experience was nothing less than perfect. The ambiance is closer to Frasca Boulder than Tavernetta Denver which was perfect for the small party. The table looked up the mountain and was perfectly set at every course. The team took great care with every question, dietary restriction, suggestion, and the entire experience. Tavernetta popped on my radar because their co-founder and Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey visited Ann Arbor, Michigan recently. Then, we so happened to be in Vail where Tavernetta opened less than a year ago (Dec 2024!) Located inside the Four Seasons in Vail, this space is as you'd expect - absolutely gorgeous. We came for Après-Tivo (a fun play on words with Après Ski & Aperitivo) but basically their daily Happy Hour (3-5pm). It's not a GREAT value but it's great pre-dinner nosh: *Focaccia (Olive Oil, Red Wine Vinegar, Grana Padano) - made in house! delicious and soft. *Piatti di Cicchetti (Marinated Olives, Pickled Vegetables, Marcona Almonds) - Okay so the marcona almonds were pretty stunning - they were seasoned with maldon as well as lavender/thyme (?). It was also a generous portion. *Milano-Torino (Campari, Cinzano Vermouth) - to note that Cinzano Vermouth is a little thicker than my usual Cocchi Vermouth so just FYI but great beverage overall! *San Polo Spritz (Select Aperitivo, Elderflower Liqueur, Grapefruit Soda) - this was lovely!! Would get again. *Venetian Spritz (Aperol, Prosecco, Orange) - very classic and no complaints. but the San Polo was better. They have a fun lil' window that cues the wine windows in Italy. However, unfortunately, I heard the bartender call it "overflow for when it's busy" which is totally NOT the point and not the culture. But, whatever. I started with the Cassini cocktail (rum, passionfruit, lemon), bright and refreshing. We shared: Focaccia Burrata For mains, we tried: Cavatelli Nero Rigatoni Risotto Ippoglosso in Saor (halibut) Finished with espresso and Torta di Carote. had an enjoyable dinner here with friends. we arrived early so sat at the bar enjoying some drinks while we waiting. the staff was super nice and took our coats and bags that we were carrying and put them at the coat check. We were then seated at our table where the waiter gave us a rundown of the menu. I decided to go with the Cavatelli Nero. This was rich in flavor and I enjoyed it, though it was quite greasy/oily and not the most appetizing in how it was presented. My friend had the Gnocchi which I tasted and liked even more. Food was excellent- even my nephew was praising the chef! It was so delicious that he ate everything off his plate. Every dish we ordered was absolutely finger licking good. Definitely should try the burrata that is freshly made in Italy and shipped within 48 hours to the restaurant. I recommend ordering family style so you get to enjoy appetizers, followed by pasta, and then a protein like the tomahawk. The ambiance is as expected of a restaurant in the Four Seasons. Absolutely loved dining at Tavernetta! We had heard that they just opened in the Four Seasons last month (December 2024) and we had to try it. The staff did not disappoint. Denni made sure to literally take care of every single thing we needed and made sure to tell us the specials. You can just tell all the staff has their stuff together because they all had their strut down. I love how their menu works. We had the focaccia and burrata together. Yum. Then we had the insalata which has the perfect amount of dressing and Parmesan. After that, we shared the Linguini and it was one of my favorite parts of the meal. The lobster and noodles together had the best flavors. And then for the steak we had New York Strip, dry-aged. We usually don't have a lot of luck with dry-aged but I ate every bite of my portion. It was apart of the A5 Wagyu special and that Wagyu melted in our mouths. And I don't even have to mention how gorgeous the interior is! Chef's kiss to this place all the way. You must go here AT LEAST once during your stay in Vail! read more

I would put them at 3 1/2 stars. The ambiance is great, it's a beautiful space, I like it more than the Denver location. The service was good, but not great. We ordered an appetizer, pasta and main course. The waitress never asked aobut food restrictions, this is a major miss for this caliber of a restaurant. It took close to an hour from sitting down to get our appetizer, and then the pasta came out fairly fast and so did the main course. I like spacing in between and it needs to be consistent. If you know you're running late, bring something out so guests aren't starving and check in. The food: The Salmone Affumicatta was OK but nothing memorable and the portion was tiny. The flavor was very subtle, bordering on flat. Spaghetti with Uni and seafood was a bit of a mess, it felt like they put every expensive ingredient in there without creating a real flavor for the dish. I would have preferred just uni or lobster and make it shine. Duo di Manzo was very nice, the steak was beautifully cooked. Agnello was also another hit, but because the dishes came so soon after the pasta I was a bit full and luckily my hubby ate my portion. We had sorbet for desert since some forms of dairy isn't our thing. With a bottle of wine, we spent over $600 and that would be fine if the service and dishes were amazing but they were not. The manager stopped by and noted that service was slow, but didn't really do anything. How about cover one of the dishes or wine? They have some work to do to be a Four Seasons level service. Well done by the team, a long awaited and well deserved food addition to Vail and especially Four Seasons. Sitting outside on the patio before dinner by the fire pit was relaxing. The snacks and drink options were tasty. Glass of champagne was a good start. At every spot, outside, check-in, dinning room the service was warm, friendly, on point. Burrata was perfect, beet salad read "meh" was was tasty if a bit understated. Pasta was yummy... rigatoni with lamb ragu and the sea urchin linguine were the stand-outs. Wine list, given the restaurant's lineage, was extensive and fun. Desserts were just ok... tiramisu didn't hit the spot. read more

We had a group of five seeking some dinner ski apres (from beaver creek) and Tavernetta was on our radar all day. But it was closed for an event. They really need to make it clearer when it is closed for private events. We specifically paid for parking just to come here on a Saturday, only to find out it was not even open to the public. Prime hours and weekends seem to be constantly unavailable (second time now with this restaurant during a weekend), and to make it worse, no one answers the phone during private events. read more

The service here is top notch. The way that the menu was explained in detail really made our decision making easy, and it paired great with our drink selection. This is a great spot for an upscale date night, business dinners, celebrating an occasion, or looking to enjoy some great upscale food. It seems that some folks who have reviewed Tavernetta may have gotten a little carried away, being in Vail at the Four Seasons and all. Typically, these are out-of-towners who may not get out much at home and are inclined to rave about high priced, fancy meals. Spending 4-5 months a year in Vail, I can tell you that overall quality of many restaurants has declined since COVID and housing costs make reliable staffing challenging. Our waitress passed herself off as a gourmet of haute cuisine and referred to many of the dishes as decadent, which was both meaningless and inaccurate. I don't drink wine, but my friend ordered a pinot noir that arrived in a small carafe that barely covered the bottom of the wine glass. I asked my friend if that was a normal pour, he just shrugged and said, "I don't know, I just ordered a pinot noir." Without exaggeration, there was less than 1/4" of wine at the bottom of a pretty large wine glass. When we went upstairs to the Remedy bar after dinner, he ordered another pinot noir and received a properly filled 1/2 glass of the wine. The burrata appetizer was interesting, but not in a good way and the bread on which to spread the burrata was extra. Whatever appetizer our friends ordered sat uneaten and unidentified. Then there was the alleged "whole bronzino," which was missing the head, spine and tail. I hope it was dead before they removed all that. The fish was butterflied and served skin-side up, with the pesto sauce on top of the skin, which was weird, to say the least. It was all sitting on top of a lemony flavored spinach which could've caused Popeye to swear off spinach. Our friends had risotto and some other pasta and refused to comment. I thought for pasta dishes, the portions were skimpy, but as they didn't finish their entrees, it was a moot point. Jack Daniels was not offered, which I find offensive. We drink 20-year port after dinner, but I like my Jack before and during dinner and I don't think any restaurant should consider itself above serving Jack Daniels. On a high note, the three of them said that the tiramisu was the best they ever had, but, in the vein of skimpy servings, there wasn't enough for me to taste. Bear in mind that it's Vail, so it ain't going to be cheap. It should however be good and without condescension. read more

I was at La Tavernetta Vail 3 days ago for dinner. Service was good but appetizers, dinner, etc very overpriced and not very good. Salad(more like weeds and ridiccio?) had to b returned...drenched in Dressing. Wow. Tavernetta was AMAZING! We came for the trendy Hot Cocoa at the Four Seasons bar (upstairs), were disappointed by the forever wait time... only to find something MUCH better by accident!! Tavernetta's architecture and vibe is incredible. When you walk through the sliding pocket doors, you feel almost like you've entered a French alp secret society with 40 ft vaulted ceilings. Then you are greeted by their incredible staff. Shout out to Chantel and Raoul, our most excellent stewards. Chantel was charming and personable. And Raoul never let a water glass get empty. Then there was Marshall, who took us on a brief, but in depth tour of the wine room. I now have an appreciation for Italian, French and Spanish wines I didn't have before. Incredible! Nice atmosphere. Polished service. Food was hit and miss. The sauce poured on the crab appetizer completely overpowered the flavor of the crab. The carpaccio was excellent. The NY strip and the halibut were nicely cooked, but there wasn't much to the composition of these dishes. Fine but not great. You have to order side dishes if you want vegetables. Beautiful room, ambience, colors, furniture with expansive views of Vail Mountain. We were seated in a romantic curved booth. Service is excellent, friendly and we did not feel rushed. The GM came by several times checking on how we were doing and was very friendly. Our courses were each delicious we enjoyed steak for two, pasta with fennel sausage and broccolini rapini, marinated olives, marcona almonds with pickled veggies. Service & Experience Staff was very nice but extremely slow. The menu wasn't very clear making it difficult to understand what was being offered. The waitress was helpful in clarifying our questions. Food: Food was okay. However the pasta portion was atrociously small I almost asked if they accidentally gave me something from the kids menu :( Ambiance: Really nice decor and cool room but the chairs were extremely uncomfortable which made the long wait for the food even more difficult. There were other chair styles which I can't speak to but the U shaped ones were brutal. Conclusion: Overall I think that this took too long and was overpriced when compared to similar restaurants in the valley for what was offered. This is an excellent place to have breakfast. I really enjoyed my properly poached eggs with potato cakes and a beautifully carved avocado. My husband loved his omelette. Service was warm and friendly. The hot sauce comes in a funny little jar with an eye dropper. Very disappointed. Service was very poor. Staff looks overwhelmed and stressed. Very slow to get orders. Food took forever to come out. Tables that got seated after us finished their meals before we ever got ours. Food is over priced and okay quality. Small portions. One pasta dish came out cold. It's average tasting pasta. You can tell they were rushing in the kitchen. Vegetables cut uneven and thus cooked unequal. Even with a reservation they sat us late for table even though it was open and ready for us before we arrived. Front of stuff needs lots of improvement. Was very excited but sadly disappointed. From someone who has eaten at multiple Michelin restaurants from recognized up to three star, this is no where near making the list.
