It was completely dead at 12pm on the Saturday I was there. I ordered a Buddha Bowl with Pork Belly ($25+$8) which definitely reflected the higher prices and cost of living of the greater Vail area. Service was great. Decor was charming. Plenty of parking in spaces right outside. This was my second choice for lunch that day, but now it'll be my go-to whenever I'm here in the future!

We opted to sit inside (instead of the outdoor patio that has a view of the parking lot). The food and cocktail menu was unique Asian Mexican fusion. We ordered the: *Yuzu One For Me - green tea vodka, yuzu, grapefruit mint *Red Harvest - gin, red pepper, mint, chili, lime *Rose Ramen - miso bone broth, pork belly, soft boiled egg*, basil, ginger, scallion, sriracha *Taco Platter - 4 tacos (chose 2 ahi & 2 pork belly) All the portions were very small so if you have a bigger appetite, you should order an appetizer. Ample parking. Staff wasn't very friendly (but they might have been in a hurry to get us to leave since we were the last patrons in there). In a quaint plaza called the Riverwalk. Lots of cute shops, eateries, and a 2 screen movie theater that has a surprisingly large food menu.

The bar itself is gorgeous, with thoughtful attention to small details. The bar seating against the window rail is incredible and if it's a nice day, you'll find it like we did, with the accordion window panes tucked away. You can't find a better way to spend an afternoon in the city - their craft cocktails are creative and unexpected. The views to pair with that, along with great company - chef's kiss. We ordered a few drinks and soaked in the views. The staff checked on us often and were up to making a few "off menu" drinks - that wowed us. If you aren't seeing what you are looking for, ask for it. I bet you won't be disappointed.

The Lookout bar is located in The Westin and on the top floor with stunning views. We were first greeted by the host Hal who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I noticed Hal walking through the bar checking on guests and also assisting the servers as needed with drink and food orders. We were seated at the window which had stunning views of the local village and mountain. Our servers John and Augustina were excellent. They never left us waiting for service and continuously checked in on us. We ordered dirty martinis which were served nice and cold. The only negative about the martinis would be the glasses are smaller than what martinis at most other places would be served in so it is simply a smaller serving. However, the wine was a generous pour. For bites, we ordered the Pimento Cheese which was served warm with baguette. So tasty. The beef + blue toasts. This was okay but not our favorite. The burrata salad. Very refreshing and delicious. Since we were not staying at the Weston and had to valet, they were kind enough to validate our ticket. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a drink and experience the beautiful views and delicious drinks and small bites.

This time I ordered the Schmidt Mac Burger with Parmesan Fries, while my wife had the Wagyu Reuben with a side salad. Every bite was delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly, the fries were crispy with just the right amount of Parmesan, and my wife's Reuben was loaded with flavor. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. After our meals were delivered, our server rarely checked back. We were never asked if we wanted another drink, and our water glasses sat empty long enough that we finally had to ask another server for refills. It wasn't a terrible experience, but it definitely wasn't the level of service you expect from a restaurant of this caliber. One thing to know before you go--the prices are on the higher side. My burger and Parmesan fries were around $33, so this isn't your average burger joint. That said, the quality of the food helps justify the price. Overall, the kitchen absolutely delivers, and that's why we'll be back. Hopefully this was just an off day for the service staff, because if the front of the house matched the outstanding food coming from the kitchen, Craftsman would easily earn five stars.
