Sad to see the quality of this place really go down. We made a reservation for a birthday, we've loved this place the last few years. However upon dining with them, our waitress barely said a word, took ages to get our drinks and take our order. The only somewhat good part of our experience was the food. At least it came out fast. However the follow up for refilling our drinks, ordering our dessert or even just checking up on our table, never came. We were constantly flagging the waitress down for the smallest things such as asking about the birthday dessert. No happy birthday, no how was the food, no nothin. From my experience in the past with the service industry, it's common practice to greet your table, and hey, maybe even get a little conversation going. Too bad she was too busy texting on her phone, ignoring the ONLY table in there that night. Our bartender was the only person working when we arrived and right along with four other tables all trying to escape the snow. We tried the GF 10" Supremo pizza which was only $10 + $3 for Gluten Free and was one of the best GF crust I've tried. Hubs had the Fat Tony, large yummy meatballs in perfectly spiced marinara. We also had the Gongonzola Beef Tips, delicious but couldn't detect any gorgonzola and Crispy Brussel Sprouts which were good but not my favorite. Came in during the week before it was the dinner rush and was hoping for a quick service, but it was anything but. The food was below par for the amount that each dish was priced at. Wish I could say that the wait staff was knowledgeable of the wine that pairs best with certain dishes but our waiter changed multiple times. In the end, the manager brought out the check and didn't seem to care that our food was barely touched. It was cold upon arriving and didn't taste good at all. We must have been the first ones through the door for lunch on a Sunday in the depths of "mud season". So this review is about "Max" from Buenos Aires Argentina and how well he took care of us as his first customers of the day. A smile goes a long way and I wish I had taken a photo of Max. What a hospitable gentleman! He assured us where we were parked was fine (my wife worries about these things) and let us pick our spot in the restaurant. Quick with water and the menus, he approved of our choice of a bottle of Coppola Claret and a large Margherita pizza (with prosciutto on half - my half)!. He joked with us when he brought it out offering a double anchovies pizza and then placed the most beautiful, perfectly prepared pizza. All kidding aside, this is not our first time at Sauce on the Creek. We recommend it and can tell you from previous visits, their bruschetta is the Best! Although when we arrived our table was not ready and we waited 10 minutes to be seats. Not a big deal as the place was packed and we got drinks from the bar. The wine pores are extremely healthy and the food delicious plus it is reasonably priced compared to the prices at Beaver Creek Resort restaurants. If wine isn't your beverage of choice they had a large selection of bourbons too! Everyone enjoyed their food and we all agreed we would come back next time we are skiing in Beaver Creek. We just moved to Avon. Since we didn't have our kitchen unpacked yet, we decided to get some takeout. Sauce on the Creek was our choice for our first meal. I ordered the Linguine and Clams, my wife got the Chicken Marsala and we decided to split the House Salad. We picked it up, there was a gentleman that handed me the bag. All good. We got home, everything looked great. The salad was great, and the balsamic dressing was awesome. I recommend getting it on the side. My Linguine with Clams was slightly bland, but a little parm helped that out. Don't be alarmed by the picture, most of the clams were on the bottom. The Chicken Marsala totally stole the show though. What a great meal. I was pretty jealous, but my wife doesn't eat that much, so I got to have a pretty big helping of that.
