We must have been the first ones through the door for lunch on a Sunday in the depths of "mud season". So this review is about "Max" from Buenos Aires Argentina and how well he took care of us as his first customers of the day. A smile goes a long way and I wish I had taken a photo of Max. What a hospitable gentleman! He assured us where we were parked was fine (my wife worries about these things) and let us pick our spot in the restaurant. Quick with water and the menus, he approved of our choice of a bottle of Coppola Claret and a large Margherita pizza (with prosciutto on half - my half)!. He joked with us when he brought it out offering a double anchovies pizza and then placed the most beautiful, perfectly prepared pizza. All kidding aside, this is not our first time at Sauce on the Creek. We recommend it and can tell you from previous visits, their bruschetta is the Best! Wonderful lunch here today! Our server was very nice and helpful. I will say the ambiance was great but the building seemed very warm inside and most of the spots outside were in the sun. First, we started with cocktails. I got the watermelon drink and my boyfriend got the passion fruit margarita and we loved them both. The we got the antipasto platter for an appetizer because I'll always order charcuterie if it's on the menu! I loved the meats and cheeses, I just wish it had come with some type of jam or spread. My friend and I arrived mid-afternoon at Sauce on the Creek, and had a very tasty time. We ordered apps and cocktails for a quick nosh. Highly recommend the roasted brussel sprouts prepared with panchetta, parmesan and balsamic drizzle. We also ordered the calamari with a tomato dipping sauce and bruschetta, both equally delicious. The house white wine was satisfying and solid. The vodka blackberry lemonade was refreshing in the afternoon sun. Our server Nicholas took great care of us and met our every need. Popped into this chic spot for a happy hour prior to late dinner reservations. The food was on point and the ambiance is very cute. Our bartender was the only person working when we arrived and right along with four other tables all trying to escape the snow. We tried the GF 10" Supremo pizza which was only $10 + $3 for Gluten Free and was one of the best GF crust I've tried. Hubs had the Fat Tony, large yummy meatballs in perfectly spiced marinara. We also had the Gongonzola Beef Tips, delicious but couldn't detect any gorgonzola and Crispy Brussel Sprouts which were good but not my favorite. I liked the fried prosciutto and balsamic glaze but would have preferred the brussels roasted versus deep fried. Drinks were very reasonable as well. I gave this place 3 Stars because the food was just Okay! I had the House salad and the Pasta Bolognese. I have had Bolognese at other Italian restaurants, which is one of my favorites and this was nothing but meat sauce and noodles for $28 bucks. I was torn between pasta or pizza and after getting this, I should have gotten the pizza. Can't really mess that up? This place is pretty pricey for the quality of food, which is disappointing because after all, it is Vail, Colorado! read more

The wine pores are extremely healthy and the food delicious plus it is reasonably priced compared to the prices at Beaver Creek Resort restaurants. I ordered the Linguine and Clams, my wife got the Chicken Marsala and we decided to split the House Salad. We picked it up, there was a gentleman that handed me the bag. All good. We got home, everything looked great. The salad was great, and the balsamic dressing was awesome. I recommend getting it on the side. My Linguine with Clams was slightly bland, but a little parm helped that out. Don't be alarmed by the picture, most of the clams were on the bottom. The Chicken Marsala totally stole the show though. What a great meal. I was pretty jealous, but my wife doesn't eat that much, so I got to have a pretty big helping of that. Old school pizza service on an elevated rack, the server can prepared with plastic covered straw cups for the kids.
